Katt Williams Is Producing A New Tupac Album Featuring Unreleased Verses And Cardi B

Did you know that Suge Knight has a podcast? I didn’t, and now I do, and I don’t know what to do with that information. Part of me thinks that there is no way Suge Knight should have a podcast, especially considering he’s currently in prison for running someone over with his SUV.

On the latest episode of this podcast, Collect Call (great name, by the way), Suge’s guest, Katt Williams, claims he’s working on a new posthumous Tupac album with some of the California rapper’s unreleased verses. One unexpected guest he names is Cardi B, which is sure to delight Gen-X and millennial hip-hop fans who grew up on ‘Pac’s music in the ’90s. The discourse is bound to be exhausting.

As they discuss the potential project Williams is putting together, Knight asks, “How many people you gonna have on the project?” Katt says there will be eight, and they’ll be “only the best of the best.” Knight also queries, “I heard Cardi on the project with you, is that true?” After confirming her presence, Knight calls her “the female version of Tupac” and Katt agrees, “We love Cardi B. She’s going to mix with him nicely. Everybody that’s on it is a piece of him, in a way.”

Explosive audio recordings have been submitted to court as evidence in the murder case of iconic rapper Tupac Shakur, implicating hip hop mogul P Diddy in the assassination. The audio features Duane ‘Keefe D’ Davis, a West Coast gangster and a suspect in Tupac’s murder, boasting about Diddy allegedly orchestrating the hit on the rap legend.

According to reports by The Sun, the chilling 2-hour and 25-minute secret police interview took place in 2008 with LAPD, where Keefe D claimed that Diddy offered him $1 million for Tupac’s assassination. The audio recording, now a key piece of evidence in the murder trial, has surfaced as Las Vegas prosecutors make their case against Keefe D.

In the disturbing tape, Keefe D, 60, can be heard laughing and joking with police about Diddy’s alleged involvement in Tupac’s killing in September 1996 in Las Vegas. The gangster claims that, without firm evidence, he oversaw the fatal shooting of Tupac at the request of Diddy during the mid-1990s.

Keefe alleges that Diddy wanted to eliminate the competition, specifically targeting rival record label boss Suge Knight and Tupac amid the East/West Coast rap wars. The former Compton Crip insists that the million-dollar reward was proposed by Diddy, who has consistently denied any involvement in Tupac’s shooting.

Prosecutors submitted the audio file to highlight Keefe D’s confessions about being a key figure in the murder. However, it is crucial to note that many sections of the tape contain unsubstantiated allegations against Diddy.

In the recording, Keefe D boasts about growing close to Diddy through mutual friend and gangster Eric “Zip” Martin. He details how Puffy discussed his disdain for Knight and allegedly expressed a desire to eliminate both Knight and Tupac. The gang kingpin claims the assassination order was given privately, and Diddy had multiple conversations with him about “killing both of them.”

Tupac was shot on the evening of September 7, 1996, while driving to a club with Knight. Despite Keefe D’s claims of his involvement, Diddy’s alleged connection to the murder remains unproven.

The gangster alleges that he never received payment for the shooting, raising questions about the authenticity of his claims. The submitted audio provides a chilling glimpse into Keefe D’s unremorseful demeanor as he discusses orchestrating the murder of the rap icon.

Keefe D Claims Diddy Put Hit On Tupac For $1M In New Audio Used In Court

Keefe D’s court case for the murder of Tupac Shakur has plenty of other suspects in its sights, especially from the defense’s side. Moreover, on Thursday (January 11), his lawyers submitted a tape of him claiming that Diddy offered him a million dollars to murder the West Coast legend, according to The U.S. Sun. However, the clip reportedly doesn’t feature the Bad Boy mogul at all, but rather Keefe (real name Duane Davis) laughing about his alleged involvement with Vegas police. Apparently, Sean Combs wanted ‘Pac and Suge Knight taken care of because tensions between the East Coast and West Coast had reached an all-time high.

Furthermore, this follows other accusations that Diddy had something to do with this whole debacle. For example, L.A.P.D. Detective Greg Kading did so back in 2011, also alleging that Suge put out the hit on Biggie Smalls. “We got Keffe D’s back up against the wall,” he recalled to HipHopDX around this time, explaining how they began to put the pieces of the story together. While this is purely speculative, it’s also to show for just how long rumors like these have dominated hip-hop conversations and gossip mills.

“He explained to us that him and his nephew, [Orlando Anderson], and the rest of that little Crip entourage, committed the murder of Tupac out in Las Vegas,” Kading continued of Keefe D and Diddy’s involvement. “Then he explains that the conspiracy to commit the murder of Tupac had developed in Los Angeles during his conversations with Puffy Combs. We realized now that we had some legitimate ownership of [Tupac’s case, too]. Even though the murder took place in Las Vegas, and technically it was their investigation, since the conspiracy to murder happened in our jurisdiction, it gave us a legitimate cause to investigate it.

“Since now we had the star witness, [Keefe D], and now we needed to protect him in order to further the investigation to take it up to where it’s tied to the other conspirators, we needed to really protect that aspect of the case,” he went on. “Because if it got out, ‘Hey, Keefe D’s cooperating,’ or anything like that, well, you can imagine that would’ve interfered with the ongoing investigation.” For what it’s worth, Puff Daddy’s denied any and all accusations when it comes to this. Keefe D’s Bail Set At $750k In Tupac Murder Case

Last year, fans were shocked to find that nearly 3 decades after the murder of Tupac Shakur, someone was finally arrested for it. That person was Keefe D who has long claimed to be involved. He’s been appearing in interviews for years now discussing details of the case online. In fact, many fans believe that his willingness and openness about the case is the primary reason he was ultimately arrested. Though his trial hasn’t begun yet he just scored a victory in the journey to stay at home until it does.

For the past few weeks in the pre-trial proceedings, Keefe D’s lawyers have been fighting to get him bail. The state prosecution in the case didn’t want him released on bail. They cited his previous gang affiliations and alleged threats he’s made to witnesses in the case as evidence for why he should stay behind bars. The judge didn’t agree and ended up granting Keefe D the opportunity to make bail setting it at $750k. While it’s a win for the accused it isn’t a full victory. His lawyers had originally asked that his bail be set at less than $100k. Though the amount is more than they were hoping he’s still likely to make bail and spend the next few months at home.

The delays in arriving at a bail hearing for Keefe D follow further delays that came earlier in the trial. That spawned from Keefe repeatedly having trouble with his legal representation. The trial had already been delayed at times when Keefe’s lawyers failed to show up in court at all.

The trial has unsurprisingly become one of the most discussed subject in rap circles recently. Allen Hughes has praised 2Pac as a pioneer of “female-centric songs” from male artists in the rap community. “Brenda’s Got A Baby” came out when he was 20. He wrote it when he was 18. To this day, point me to one male rapper who ever consistently wrote female centric songs. When you look at ‘Brenda’s Got A Baby,’ what makes it unique is it’s one long verse. It’s storytelling at its finest. He’s singular in that he’s got like eight to 10 songs that embody a female perspective, experience, disposition, heart or mind—and that’s the thing he had. If you knew him behind closed doors, you’d see other sides of him that were almost demure and soft, and they’re always very sweet. He was really in touch with his feminine side,” Hughes told Hits DailyDouble last month.

Furthermore, Hughes said never Pac never lost that edge. “Even when we start talking about toxic masculinity and maybe the trap he may have fell into later, he wasn’t afraid to cry, he wasn’t afraid to be sensitive or write poetry. And by the way, he was always reading. He always had a book in his hand. To Hip-Hop at the time, that was like kryptonite ’cause who reads?” Hughes added.

Meanwhile, in August 2023, Hughes called “delusional” but a “true artist”. “The thing that I discovered on Dear Mama was he truly is an artist. He’s a poet. He don’t see the world the way normal people see the world. He don’t see danger the way normal people see danger,” he began.

“I got in trouble with the [Shakur] family when I said this, but pure artists are delusional. Yeah. That’s part of what makes them great artists: they’re delusional. They’re sharing their delusions with us. But they don’t think they’re delusions: it’s real to them. So they don’t see the reality of things. They see the dream of it all. They’re living in a dream. That’s part of what made him so special. Tupac was subjecting us to his fantasies, but they weren’t fantasies to him,” he continued.

Keefe D Seeks House Arrest While Awaiting Tupac Murder Trial

Now that holiday festivities have wrapped for another year, we’re getting back into the swing of business as usual. Several high-profile legal cases are back in court today (January 2), from Young Thug’s YSL RICO trial resuming, to Keefe D’s latest hearing. The latter was arrested for his alleged part in Tupac’s untimely death in mid-2023 – decades after the crime originally took place. It was a major moment in hip-hop. Social media continues to debate whether or not the embattled gang member will be found guilty when his trial finally begins.

In late December, prosecutors shut down Duane Keith Davis’ request to get bail, describing him as “too dangerous” to be back outside. Despite this, the 60-year-old and his legal team remain confident that he at least deserves house arrest. As he’s back in court, Law & Crime‘s Cathy Russon is giving updates on the Las Vegas-based case via Twitter/X. “Defendant charged in the murder of 2Pac set to appear today,” she wrote early on Tuesday.

After spending Christmas and New Year’s Eve in the slammer, it’s likely that Davis is itching now more than ever to get back to the comforts of life before his arrest. Keefe D Is Too Dangerous For Bail In Tupac Murder Trial According To Prosecutors

Earlier this fans were intrigued by the Las Vegas Police Department all of a sudden showing renewed interest in the murder of Tupac Shakur. They executed a police raid that had to do with the murder, which happened more than 25 years ago. Then fans were stunned to find that they actually made an arrest in the case. Duane Davis, AKA Keefe D, was arrested for the murder of the legendary rapper. D has long been willing to discuss the case in interviews online and has occasionally let loose some details about his own personal involvement.

Last month after some legal tribulations related to his lawyers, Keefe D officially pleaded not guilty in the case. With the trial not due to begin until June, David was hoping to be released on bail in the meantime and get to spend the next few months at home. His lawyers called for his release in court and asked that his bail be set no higher than $100k. But the state of Nevada is fighting back. They’re claiming that he’s too dangerous to be reasonably released back into the public. They cite his previous alleged gang affiliations, reported threats he’s made against potential witnesses in the case, and his repeated discussion of his involvement with the case online as reasons he shouldn’t be freed in the meantime.

Suge Knight Walks Back On Tupac Tweet, Claims His Account Was Hacked

Over the weekend, currently imprisoned rap mogul Suge Knight made a tweet that got a lot of people’s attention. “This guy little guy is responsible for the demise of 2pac” he captioned an old-looking photo of the legendary rapper. The post caused hundreds of fans to pour over the image trying to identify who he was talking about. But just a few days after originally tweeting it, Suge tried to walk back on the post, eventually even claiming that his account was hacked.

“THIS TWITTER ACCOUNT HAS BEEN HACKED. FIX IT” Suge captioned an Instagram story post of the original tweet. He also took to the comment section of a post about the tweet to call it “fake.” What fans took notice of right away is that it very much wasn’t fake, coming from Suge’s real twitter account where he’s often posted about ongoing news stories. That’s when Suge pivoted to saying that his twitter account had been hacked and that the post was actually made by hackers. This isn’t the first time that Suge Knight has claimed his Twitter was hacked in recent weeks. Earlier this month after making a tweet about paying for protection for Snoop Dogg in the 90s, he first claimed he was hacked. He spoke to TMZ about hackers trying to destroy his reputation. In his discussion with them, he claimed that his Facebook was also hacked in addition to his Twitter. Despite making the public claim more than a week ago it appears his account is still under someone else’s control.

Earlier this year, Keefe D was arrested for his role in Tupac’s murder. Despite at one point defending Keefe, Suge appears to have changed his tone.
