YNW Melly Trial: Sick Juror Replaced By Alternate

Everyone in the fields of hip-hop culture and crime is keeping a close eye on the YNW Melly double murder trial. Moreover, small developments in the case could end up having big consequences, as the most recent events display in a seemingly small but crucial way. Furthermore, journalist Bryson “Boom” Paul reported that the court replaced a sick juror with an alternate individual on Thursday (June 22). As such, this could potentially impact the trial depending on whether or not the new juror will interpret the case in the same way that the original one would. Regardless, at least it was a potentially speed bump in the proceedings that the court was able to sidestep swiftly.

In addition, changes like these could also have big implications considering a recent decision on the integrity of the case. On Tuesday (June 20), Judge Murphy III denied YNW Melly’s defense team’s motion for a mistrial, and the case continued as planned. For those unaware, the rapper’s attorneys believed evidence presented by the state to be prejudicial and therefore improper. In other words, this evidence did not further the facts of the case, in the defense’s eyes, but rather placed a bias on their client that could unrightfully impact the verdict.

Ill Juror Gets Replacement In YNW Melly Case: Report

Still, there seems to be a lot to still go through in this trial, especially with the contention present regarding the mistrial. Since that decision, a few other updates from the courtroom proved interesting to the public- with one in particular being favorable for YNW Melly. During Wednesday’s proceedings (June 21), the court maintained that prosecutors committed a discovery violation. Apparently, as a result of not disclosing an additional forensics report, the court will now bar certain information from being brought forth as evidence.

Of course, it’s unclear whether said evidence would have acted in the Florida native’s favor at the end of the day. That being said, it being a part of the case built by the prosecution likely couldn’t have spelled out good news for him. With that in mind, stay logged into HNHH for the latest news, updates, and viral moments from the YNW Melly trial.

YSL Trial Postponed After Lawyer’s Laptop Seized By Police

The massive RICO indictment which swept up much of the YSL gang including rappers Young Thug and Gunna has a new development. According to Hip Hop DX, the hearing has been delayed until at least July 12th. The delay comes as a result of defense attorney Eric Johnson’s own ongoing hearings. Johnson is representing Christian Eppinger in both the RICO case and a number of other ongoing legal matters. Last month, law enforcement seized a laptop belonging o Johnson after he was accused of using it to let Eppinger contact other YSL members who weren’t in custody.

Johnson’s original hearing related to the laptop was supposed to happen soon. But after the lawyer was in a traffic accident a few weeks ago he’s been ruled unfit to appear in court since. His hearing has been rescheduled tentatively for July 12th, after which the YSL case can presumably continue. It’s yet another delay in the trial which has remained in the public eye since over a year ago. May 9th of 2022 was when the news first went public that Young Thug and Gunna had been arrested alongside 26 other YSL affiliates.

YSL Trial Gets Delayed Again

Most of the discussion about the YSL RICO case in recent months has revolved around Gunna. Earlier this year Gunna took a plea deal that resulted in his release. As a part of the deal however, Gunna has to testify against other YSL members in a way that many identified as snitching. This causes a string of rappers to make public statements distancing themselves from Gunna and his alleged actions. The most recent of which was Lil Durk who didn’t mince words in an interview with DJ Akademics. Of the allegations Gunna is facing Durk replied, “that man told.”

YSL Trial aside, Gunna just dropped a new album that certainly got fans’ attention. a Gift & a Curse is a featureless 15-track album that takes a much more reserved approach than Gunna normally brings. What do you think of the newest developments in the YSL trial? Let us know in the comment section below.

YNW Melly Scores Small Victory In Court Today

The YNW Melly court drama has captivated rap fans everywhere. While there have been plenty of difficult moments for Melly so far he scored a small victory in court today. Yesterday morning, his lawyer’s motion for a mistrial was shot down by the judge. But this morning it was a different legal process decision that actually worked out in favor of Melly. According to legal analyst Terri Austin, whose been following the trial, the judge ruled that the prosecution committed a discovery violation. The prosecution failed to disclose a second forensics report meaning that information will now be excluded from being used as evidence in the trial.

It’s the first real good news to come out of the trial for Melly in a few days. Last week, during the trial’s fourth day Melly scored a similar victory when more evidence was ruled ineligible. Snapchat memories were deemed prejudicial due to the presumptions that could be made about Melly by the presence of money and firearms in the videos. What’s been much more interesting for fans following the trial though, are its viral moments.

YNW Melly Steals A Small Win

Most recently, a video that made it look like Melly was leaving the courtroom right in the middle of the trial. That followed attention-grabbing moments like Melly blowing a kiss to cameras on the way out of court. Easily the most viral clip from the trial so far has been one of his attorney’s notebooks. The fact that the notebook read “Evil Plans And Stuff” had fans absolutely buzzing and comparing Melly’s whole legal team to supervillains.

YNW Melly’s newfound attention hasn’t just come from fans interested in the courtroom. In the weeks since his trial started, he has seen a massive increase in streaming. On Spotify alone, he’s seen an increase in monthly listeners by over 800k across the last few weeks. Fans with a darker sense of humor have pointed out the increase in streams for Melly’s biggest hit “Murder On My Mind.” The song is rapidly approaching becoming his first with 1 billion streams on Spotify. YNW Melly’s Lawyer Going Viral For Mugshot

Everything about the ongoing YNW Melly trial has been exceedingly viral. But today there was a whole new conversation going on surrounding it, mainly focusing on a previous mugshot of Melly’s current lawyer. This morning, the leading story from the trial had to do with Melly being denied the motion for a mistrial that his lawyers requested. Now one of those lawyers, Raven Liberty is getting attention for an entirely different kind of reason.

A mugshot of Liberty is making the rounds online and generating quite a lot of attention from those watching the events of the trial unfold. Liberty was reportedly arrested for battery in Miami resulting in the mugshot originally being taken. While the charges were eventually dropped the mugshot still exists online and fans tracked it down. Despite some suggesting that Melly might have chosen her as his lawyer for reasons other than her skill and knowledge, she does have a good reputation. She’s most well known in the rap world for representing Kodak Black numerous times during his ongoing legal troubles.

YNW Melly’s Lawyer Goes Viral

Earlier this week YNW Melly’s mother confessed that stress from the trial is taking a toll on her health. In a video posted to Instagram she claims that she’s “had one heart attack already because of stress.” Though it’s unclear when exactly this happened it is clear that the trial was the route cause. It’s also been reported that in the short time since the trial began Melly has seen a massive increase in Spotify listeners. Though the trial has only been going on for a week he’s seen an increase in over 800k monthly listeners.

The events of the trial date back to a double murder committed in October of 2018. Two of YNW Melly’s friends, YNW Sackchaser and YNW Jury were murdered in what was allegedly a drive-by shooting. Prosecutors allege that it was actually staged and that the shots were fired from inside the vehicle. Melly’s defense has focused on the lack motivation he would have for killing his own friends. What do you think about YNW Melly’s lawyer and her viral mugshot? Let us know in the comments below.

Taxstone has been sentenced to 35 years in prison over the 2016 shooting of Troy Ave’s bodyguard, Ronald McPhatter. Judge Abraham Clott handed down the ruling in court on Tuesday. The court initially convicted the rapper and podcaster of manslaughter for the incident at Irving Plaza back in March.

Taxstone Gets 35 Years In Prison

Taxstone didn’t just kill McPhatter in the incident, he also wounded Troy Ave as well as two others. Troy Ave ended up suing the venue as well as Live Nation over lack of security. Some fans soon followed suit with lawsuits of their own. In addition to being hit with manslaughter in the first degree, Taxstone also got two counts of assault in the first degree, one count of assault in the second degree, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. The judge handed out the ruling in consecutive sentences, resulting in a total of 35 years in prison.

At the time of Taxstone’s conviction, Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg said in a statement: “Daryl Campbell was convicted of killing a man and shooting three others during a tragic and deadly confrontation in a packed New York City music venue. In addition to seriously injuring his rival and killing his rival’s bodyguard, Mr. Campbell shot innocent bystanders and put hundreds of other lives at risk. We will vigorously prosecute anyone who commits this type of deadly violence.”

Last week, we delivered additional compelling evidence to the District Attorney,” Majors’ attorney Priya Chaudhry said in a statement, Tuesday. “Following this, we strongly requested the District Attorney dismiss all charges against Mr. Majors immediately… While we are hopeful that the District Attorney is reviewing these materials in good faith and will do the right thing soon, to accelerate our case, we’ve requested a trial date ASAP.”

It’s been reported that Majors has been dating Good since his initial arrest. They were together on a flight from New York City to Los Angeles in May. YNW Melly Denied Mistrial In Double-Murder Case

YNW Melly is currently going through a very contentious double murder trial. Currently, the rapper is facing double-murder charges for the alleged executions of YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy. These murders took place in 2018, and Melly has been locked up for almost five years at this point. However, the trial is finally taking place, and many are watching it very closely. Although, there have certainly been some confusing twists and turns in just one week of deliberations.

So far, the prosecution has had a difficult time presenting evidence. For instance, the judge denied the use of Snapchat memories. Moreover, they also denied the use of the song “Murder On My Mind.” Additionally, there have been some hostile witnesses who have called out the prosecution for allegedly pressuring them into their testimony. This all subsequently led to a motion for a mistrial on Thursday. Melly’s lead attorney wants the trial thrown out, and over the weekend, Judge Murphy III got to think about a potential decision. According to reporter Bryson “Boom” Paul, that decision was handed down this morning.

YNW Melly Gets Unfavorable Ruling

In the tweet above, Paul confirms that the judge denied the motion for a mistrial. This means Melly will remain on trial for the next couple of weeks. Depending on how the trial progresses, this could take longer than anyone would have expected. Moreover, a juror is currently hospitalized, and Paul reported that Melly’s trial will pick back up again at around 1:30 PM EST. Needless to say, the day hasn’t even begun and the trial is already making headlines.

YNW Melly’s Gained Almost 800K Spotify Monthly Listeners Since Trial Started

The double murder trial of YNW Melly has netted him a lot of extra numbers on streaming platforms. Whether his supporters returned to his music, other tuned in out of morbid interest, or unfamiliar folks just wanted to know who this rapper is, the Florida native’s music got a huge popularity boost. Moreover, his Spotify monthly listeners reportedly went up by 8.2% since his trial started on Monday, June 12. YNW Melly Nabs Hundreds Of Thousands Of New Listeners

In fact, a particular ruling in court might motivate people even more to listen to the 24-year-old’s work guilt-free. Last week, Judge John Murphy III rejected the “Murder On My Mind” music video as proposed evidence in the trial. This is due to, according to the judge, the video not furthering the case’s pursuit of fact in the murders of YNW Juvy and YNW SakChaser. However, it would create a bias against YNW Melly due to the video and song’s content, in a way that does not actually prove or pose any relevance to the deaths in question. For this reason, it was denied a place in the courtroom as a part of the prosecution’s argument.

Meanwhile, said attempts at presenting improper evidence in the court’s eyes resulted in the “223’s” MC’s attorney motioning for a mistrial. The defense accused evidence and testimonies of being prejudicial and painting a negative light in a way irrelevant to the charges. As such, the mistrial request will be the main topic discussed when trial resumes tomorrow (Tuesday, June 20). If accepted, that doesn’t make him free just yet, but it does suggest that this will be a much harder case than the state probably thought. For the latest news and updates on YNW Melly, stay posted on HNHH.

YNW Melly’s Mother Sends A Message To Haters: “I Pray For Everyone”

YNW Melly’s mother, Jamie King, has taken to social media to share a message with haters amid her son’s ongoing double-murder trial. “I’m praying extra hard for the weirdos in the back talking about my family for clicks and likes,” she writes. King continues, “I’m the deleting [Instagram] I can’t be crying and making myself upset because of a lying clout chaser who won’t show his face in court but care so much.” She says, “I had 1 heart attack already because of stress I refuse to let this kill me.” Adding, “I try to be peaceful and respectful to all of you. I pray for everyone because I know it’s the right thing to do.”

Melly, as well as YNW Bortlen, are accused of murdering Christopher “Juvy” Thomas Jr. and Anthony “Sakchaser” Williams in 2018. The trial began last week, and streams for Melly’s songs like “Murder On My Mind,” “Suicidal,” and more are through the roof. Judge Murphy III recently took Melly’s lead attorney’s request for a mistrial. The trial is now set to resume later this week, on June 20.

Melly’s Mother Speaks Her Mind

Though all four men were said to be friends, Juvy’s father thinks that Melly could have a motive. He says that a money dispute surrounding the sale of the YNW brand could have been a catalyst in this case, further stating that he’s always believed that Melly is guilty.

“From day one, I believed that Melly was responsible for my son’s death on October 26,” he told Law & Crime. He says that Melly’s “demeanor” and “body language” is what has him convinced. “When I finally talked to [Melly] and Cortlen on FaceTime, their response and how they reacted — they showed no remorse. They didn’t act like they was grievin,’ like they lost a best friend or nothin’,” he explained, “in my opinion, they were in the best spirits. They never came to town, never came to my son’s funeral.”

YNW Melly Appears To Try To Leave Courtroom Mid-Trial In Viral Clip

YNW Melly’s trial for double murder had no shortage of noteworthy moments in its first week. Given the easy accessibility of the trial proceedings via livestream and its rapid spread online, many fans reacted in varying degrees to its antics. Some laughed at his attorney’s notebook, others recoiled at him blowing kisses in court, and so on. However, on the fourth and latest session of the trial so far, which took place on Thursday (June 15), one particular moment has fans scratching their heads. In it, the rapper appears to attempt to “escape,” as many have put it, or simply make his way close to an exit of the courtroom.

Of course, this is a prime example of fans reading too deeply into a clip from the court proceedings. What actually happens is that YNW Melly leaves his place and walks around aimlessly, close to one a door that reads “Restricted Area.” Then, a group of security guards halt him before he gets too far and then redirect him to his spot at the table. Still, it made for a pretty comical moment thanks to fan reactions to the video, though other aspects of the trial are no laughing matter.

YNW Melly’s “Attempted Escape,” So Fans Say

For example, the families of the victims in the case, YNW Juvy and YNW SakChaser, believed some of YNW Melly’s actions in court to be disrespectful. “He [blew a kiss in the courtroom] a couple of times… that wasn’t his first time,” Leandra Phillips, Juvy’s mother, told NBC 6. “I walked out. What you praying for? You sitting there like you ain’t got no remorse. Like, every time I walk in, you smiling. This ain’t the same for that. This is sad, this case is serious.”

Meanwhile, next week holds some very crucial discussions for this situation, as the 24-year-old’s lead attorney requested a mistrial. It seems like this is based on evidence the state presented that the defense finds to be prejudicial, or rather irrelevant to the facts of the case and instead merely causing negative bias against the defendant. While many believe this to be a surefire sign of the MC’s freedom, it’s not that easy and, even if approved, could still result in a new trial. For the latest updates and news on YNW Melly, check back in with HNHH.
