ScHoolboy Q & DJ Akademiks Go Back And Forth After Q’s Toronto Show Is Suspiciously Shut Down

Last night was not particularly fun for ScHoolboy Q. Overall, this is due to the fact that he was unable to perform in Toronto, Canada. The news came as a bit of a surprise, although as Q alleged, it was the Toronto police who ended up shutting down his show. “THey just cancelled my sHow in TORONTO,” Q said on Twitter. “CANADIAN POLICE DONT WANT NOBODY FROM TDE PERFORMING.” He subsequently followed this up by saying “TOP was just wit Wayne & Baby smH partynextdoor just Had a sHow @ tHe palladium. if we wanted to get yall we would’ve just did it.. now wHen sumbody get Hurt don’t cry…”

The second statement was misinterpreted by some as an incitement of violence. As a result, DJ Akademiks decided to weigh in with some comments of his own. “Sending Prayers for Peace and healing. Battle was good. Time to move on,” he wrote. Mostly, Akademiks has been on team OVO throughout this whole thing. Having said that, ScHoolboy Q wasn’t going to let Ak get the last word in on all of this. “I neva said “ ima kill sumbody” im saying if we wanted to crack it off we could’ve smH,” Q wrote. “Rap and move on playin tuff gon get sumbody Hurt it’s all good. ima soccer dad.”

ScHoolboy Q And Ak With An Exchange

Needless to say, the situation is a bit of a mess right now. There was no official explanation given for the shutdown of Q’s show, and fans are left to speculate. Of course, his TDE affiliation and the potential ramifications of that have been the prevailing theory. Having said that, it remains clear that the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef will not be simmering down anytime soon.

Let us know what you think of this situation, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that Drake is somehow involved in all of this? Do you think that this is going to continue to happen to TDE artists in Toronto, moving forward? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. ScHoolboy Q Blasts OVO For Not Allowing TDE Artists In Toronto

ScHoolboy Q is not happy. The TDE rapper was slated to perform in Toronto, but was allegedly kept from doing so. In response to this last-minute decision, Q hopped on Twitter and criticized the Canadian city for discriminating against his label. He not only accused Toronto of keeping TDE artists out, but hinted at some larger problems between the label and Drake’s OVO crew. ScHoolboy Q also alluded to there being consequences if this so-called sensitive behavior continued.

The Twitter rant took place on July 17. ScHoolboy Q made it clear that he was angry over the cancelation of his show, and called out Canadian police directly. “THey just canceled by sHow in Toronto,” he wrote. “Canadian police don’t want nobody from TDE performing.” The real bombshell, however, came in the subsequent tweet. Q claimed that everything was good between TDE and Drake’s parent label, Young Money. He claimed that Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith was actually hanging out with Birdman and Weezy recently. “Top was just wit Wayne and Baby smH,” he angrily typed. ScHoolboy Q also noted that OVO artist PARTYNEXTDOOR played at the Palladium in Los Angeles without any trouble.

ScHoolboy Q Warned OVO To Tread Carefully

After venting about the various ways in which the beef has been settled, ScHoolboy Q got aggressive. He made it known that if TDE had plans to do something to Drake and OVO, they would have done it already. “If we wanted to get y’all we would’ve just did it,” he tweeted. The last part of the message took on a more ominous tone, with the rapper seemingly warning OVO of potential problems to come. “Now wHen sumbody get Hurt don’t cry…” he concluded. ScHoolboy Q was never involved in the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef, but he made it clear which side he was on from day one.

He voiced his support for Lamar, his former label mate, on social media. He also performed alongside the rapper at the legendary “Pop Out” show on Juneteenth. ScHoolboy Q and Dot rapped “Collard Greens” together. Q was also one of the people who posed for the iconic black-and-white photo taken at the end of the concert. Hopefully TDE and OVO are able to set their differences aside and allow touring on both sides, without things getting ugly.

Drake’s Toronto Mansion Suffers From Torrential Flood And All Kendrick Lamar Fans Can Do Is Troll Him

According to the Toronto Star, a severe rainfall advisory issued on Sunday (July 14) wrapped up late Monday and into Tuesday. It affected Toronto as well as the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and it was a near record-breaking amount of rain. Almost four inches marks the fifth wettest day and it led to road and highway closures and many power outages. In fact, around 167,000 customers of a local Toronto electrical company were without basic amenities, according to CNN. About three TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) subway stations were also dealing with floods, and it seems they were a key culprit in transferring a lot of water nearby. Even Drake’s Toronto palace, aka “The Embassy”, was not safe either from the torrential downpour.

The Boy posted a short video to his Instagram story yesterday of frankly nasty looking yellow water rushing into his home. Other images show that the flood was affecting his basement, which is where he has his hall of jerseys. Even though this clearly a stressful situation, Drake was trying to make light of it. “This better be espresso martini”, the Canadian rapper wrote on his Story.

Kendrick Fans Cannot Resist Teasing Drake Amid The Flood

Other people “brightening the mood” were Kendrick Lamar fans, as they continue to torment Drake at every turn. Even with something so unrelated as a flood is not enough to stop his opposing fanbase from raining down the jokes. According to AllHipHop there are slew of trollers taunting the “Push Ups” artist on X and here are some of the funniest tweets. “Kendrick Lamar not recycling so global warming floods Drake’s mansion… He might really be the GOAT”, one user writes. “Kendrick brought the biblical flood to Drake”, says another.

What are your thoughts on the massive flood taking over Drake’s Toronto mansion? What has been the funniest joke you have seen made about this from Kendrick Lamar fans? How much damage do you think this flood could wind up doing? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Drake’s Toronto Mansion Gets Flooded After Massive Storm: Watch

Drake cannot catch a break. The Kendrick Lamar victory lap got a second wind when the “Not Like Us” music video dropped on July 4th. Then there was the shooting that took place at his home in May. Now, the same Toronto mansion that took gunfire has fallen victim to the elements. Huge thunderstorms have rolled through Canada, resulting in Drake’s sprawling estate being flooded. The damage was so bad that the rapper posted a video of the flood on Instagram. The damage is going to be severe.

Drake posted the flooding footage on his Instagram on July 16. A man can be seen opening the door, while water rushes into the house and covers the floor. The whole room is covered, and Drake walks through to show how far the flooding has spread. He tried to make light of the unfortunate situation by writing: “This better be espresso martini” over the video. Drake’s mansion was not the only Toronto landmark to take damage due to severe weather. According to the Toronto Star, DVP lanes were shut down and Union Station was flooded, meaning commuters were stranded.

Drake’s Home Is Among The Toronto Areas Affected By Rain

The outlet noted the difference between normal Toronto weather and this more recent extreme. Toronto saw 98 mm of rain on July 16, which is the fifth wettest day on record since 1938. Generally, the city gets 75 mm of rain throughout the summer. The uptick is massive. Environment Canada meteorologist Trudy Kidd told the Toronto Star that the city got more rain in a single day than it usually does in a whole month. Fortunately, for Drake, he has a stunning new property in Texas to hang out at until his Toronto mansion is repaired.

The rapper purchased a $15 million ranch called The Inn at Dos Brisas. The property is located between Austin and Houston, and spans a staggering 313 acres. Drake even hyped up the property on Instagram by adopting a Texas accent. “Me and my partna’, we done gone country on y’all,” he told his fans in June. “We said we was gonna do it for a lot of years and we’re doing it today. The sale is made. We gotta drop a new one for this. If you see your girl at the ‘Lover Boy Lane,’ it’s over.”

The Weeknd Receives Apparent Threat From Top5 Over Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out”

Kendrick Lamar hosted his eagerly awaited “Pop Out” event at the Forum in LA last night, and as expected, he was joined by an impressive series of special guests. Dr. Dre, Tyler, The Creator, Jay Rock, YG, and many more took the stage, while others simply stopped by to watch the historic performance unfold. The Weeknd was one of them and was spotted having a blast in the crowd.

For those who don’t recall, The Weeknd seemingly dissed Drake on a collab with Future and Metro Boomin. As a result, he was called out by name on Drake’s track “Family Matters.” He didn’t appear to get involved much more than that, though he was still sure to show up to support Kendrick at the highly anticipated performance, which was his first since his viral feud with Drake.

Top5 Reacts To The Weeknd’s Appearance At Kendrick Lamar’s Show

Not everyone’s happy that he showed up, however. Toronto rapper Top5 recently took to Instagram to issue what appears to be an alleged threat. Moreover, he accused The Weeknd of using drugs. “@theweeknd you started doing coke now [you’re] from Compton?” he wrote. “Wait till my GGs see you.” It’s unclear exactly why Top5 is so upset with The Weeknd, but it’s possible that he simply feels like he should do a better job of repping Toronto.

Either way, he’s getting clowned for the alleged threat in No Jumper‘s comments section. “Bro threatening a dude who make love songs,” one Instagram user jokes. “Beefing with the weekend is cr*zy,” another claims. What do you think of Top5’s reaction to The Weeknd’s appearance at Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out” even in LA? Are you surprised or not? Is he going overboard? Drake Shares Condolences After Sotto Sotto’s Legendary Momma Laura Passes Away

It’s no secret that Drake reps his hometown of Toronto as much as anyone. Throughout his career, he’s dropped reference after reference to the city in dozens and dozens of songs. He also became a de facto mascot for the Toronto Raptors during their legendary 2019 NBA championship run. But his love for the city really does run deep and he proved it with a recent Instagram story post where he showed love to a local business owner who tragically passed away.

Drizzy shared a post from Toronto restaurant Sotto Sotto announcing the bad news. The post explains that Momma Laura, the owner, founder, and public face of the restaurant, has passed away. It confirms that the restaurant will close for a day later this week to honor her and concludes by saying that she “will be forever missed.” Drake added onto the post with a caption of his own showing love to the restaurant owner. “Our deepest condolences from the OVO family” his additional caption reads. Check out the story post he shared below.

Drake’s beef with Kendrick Lamar was the biggest story in rap music this year. While it seems to have died down following the rapid fire weekend that saw multiple diss tracks dropped one after another, that hasn’t stopped discussion over the spat. Recently, Boosie Badazz claimed that while the two rappers may be done, they can’t control their respective crews. He claimed that the people surrounding both Drizzy and Kendrick were likely to escalate things to physical violence at some point, even if that’s not what the pair want. Since he made those comments though, there hasn’t been any new noise in the beef.

What do you think of Drake tributing a local Toronto restaurant owner who passed away? Do you think he will take a break from releasing new music for a while now that his beef with Kendrick Lamar is over? Let us know in the comment section below.

OVO 40 Allegedly Threatened DJ Over Playing Drake Diss “Not Like Us”

OVO 40 has been in Drake’s corner since day one. He codified the rapper’s signature sound on So Far Gone, and has since become known as the architect of what’s been dubbed the “Toronto Sound.” There is no 2010s without 40. This venerated status is partially why the producer feels so protective of Drake. More protective than fans would expect, if recent allegations are to be believed. DJ Cipha Sounds said that 40 threatened him with violence if he dared to play any Drake disses in Toronto.

DJ Cipha Sounds went on the Juan Epstein podcast and recounted the run-in he had with OVO 40. He claimed that the producer told him no to play the Kendrick Lamar song “Not Like Us” in Drake’s city, and if he did, 40 would take immediate action. “How about I go to your city and play a song where someone calls you a ped*phile,” OVO 40 allegedly told the DJ. “It’s on sight, when I see you, I’m gonna smack you in the mouth.” Cipha Sounds was completely taken aback by the interaction. The thing that bothered him the most, however, was the statement OVO 40 made afterwards.

OVO 40 Allegedly Told The DJ “It’s On Sight”

“He goes, ‘I know you never liked us,’” Cipha Sounds recounts. The DJ took particular umbrage with this claim. “How, why?” he responded. “I’m only, only supportive and play everything you put out. What are you talking about.” OVO 40’s frustration is not surprising, given the producer’s passion for Toronto and the OVO legacy as a whole. He appeared in a 2022 documentary titled Toronto Rising, in which detailed his desire to leave an impact on the city. It’s a desire that’s allowed him to combat the complications of an MS diagnosis and oversee some of the most impactful albums of his generations.

“As long as I had like one finger that still worked, no matter what the world took from me,” OVO 40 said in the documentary. “I could play the keyboard and I could make music. All the things in my life just kind of pointed me in one direction. I’m here to play my part and to leave my impact.” 40’s concern regarding Drake also makes sense. The “Family Matters” rapper has been forced to deal with some dangerous situations since his battle with Kendrick Lamar. There was a shooting outside of the rapper’s Toronto mansion that injured a bodyguard, as well as numerous trespassers.

Drake Blesses 21 Savage With The Ultimate Toronto Compliment

Drake and 21 Savage are a duo that have made it through some tough times. Overall, we say this because Drizzy is currently feuding with a lot of 21’s friends. The biggest rift here would be between Metro Boomin and the Canadian megastar. 21 has been caught in the middle of this, although he refuses to take sides. He has made it clear that he loves both Drake and Metro, and that he even thinks they can someday resolve their differences.

Last night, 21 was performing a second show in Toronto. During this performance, he surprised the crowd by bringing out none other than Drake. Of course, seeing as though this was Toronto, the fans were going absolutely wild. The two got to perform some track together, and it was a great moment. Afterward, as Drake left the stage, he declared that Toronto was 21’s city. He also encouraged the artist to perform a couple of extra tracks as the crowd was clearly feeling the show.

Drake x 21

Last night was certainly an interesting one for Drake. This is due to the fact that a reference track started making the rounds online. As many of you already know by now, this reference track was in relation to “Mob Ties” and it came from none other than Vory, who you may remember for his contributions to Donda. Ultimately, this has led to some uncomfortable debates about Drake and his legacy. Only time will tell if fans will just forget about this in a couple of days from now.

Let us know what you think of Drake and 21 Savage, in the comments section down below. How do you feel 21 has handled the feuds Drake has found himself in as of late? Do you think these two might have another collaborative album in them? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. 21 Savage Shocks Fans By Bringing Out Drake At His Toronto Show

Drake sightings are big deals these days. The rapper is still reeling from his loss in the Kendrick Lamar battle. The residual effect of the battle is evident in his music, as his last three singles have been flooded with dislikes on YouTube. Nevertheless, the bond between the 6 God and 21 Savage remains strong. The latter performed in Toronto on May 27, and he made good on the underlying hopes of every Her Loss fan by bringing Drake onstage to perform a couple of their joint hits.

Footage from the concert was posted on Instagram by DJ Akademiks. Drake and 21 Savage can be seen hyping up the crowd before jumping into a rendition of their number one single, “Rich Flex.” Drake might have lost the battle to Kendrick, but he still managed to rally the crowd and get them to sing along to the iconic opening lines of the song. The chemistry between Drake and Savage is strong as ever. The latter has actually been one of Drake’s few supporters throughout the 2024 rap wars.

21 Savage And Drake Performed “Rich Flex” Together

On May 12, the rapper hopped on Instagram Live to discuss the tension between Drizzy and Metro Boomin. As far as he was concerned, the two artists were going to eventually set their differences aside. “Don’t keep coming on my motherf*cin’ Live talkin’ about no motherf*ckin’ beef,” he told viewers. “Metro my brother and Drake my brother. They gonna figure that sh*t out eventually.”

This measured response took a turn on May 26, though. 21 Savage kicked Metro Boomin off his IG Live after the producer called him “OVO Savage” in the comments. 21 Savage then clapped back at Metro by quoting Drake’s now iconic “Push Ups” line: “Metro shut your h*e a*s up and make some drums n**ga.” He also got in a few digs of his own. “Oh, you was talking sh*t, b*tch,” he added. “Get off my Live. I’m finna block this n**ga.”

This is not the first time Drake has surprised fans at a 2024 show. On May 1, the 6 God popped up at Nicki Minaj’s Toronto concert to perform their latest single together, “Needle.” He showed Nicki love before telling the crowd that they he had to get back to work aka battling with K. Dot.

DJ Allegedly Kicked Out Of Toronto Club After Playing Drake Diss “Not Like Us”

The effects of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” are still being felt. The single solidified Lamar’s victory over Drake in the great rap battle of 2024. It also topped the Billboard Hot 100, giving Lamar his second solo number one. The single’s quotable lines and catchy beat have made it fodder for clubs, but it seems as though bringing the song to the 6 is a bridge too far. A self-proclaimed DJ was reportedly booted from a Toronto club after he dared to throw on “Not Like Us” during a set.

The claim originated from the X account @OGxTP on May 27. The user claimed that he witnessed a DJ suffer real-time consequences for playing an anti-Drake song at the club Silent H. “Brah we was at a club in Toronto last night,” he wrote. “The DJ played ‘Not Like Us’ they kicked bruh out the club and told him he not gettin paid lmao.” The claim quickly gained traction on the platform, but others stepped forward with contradictory information. Another self-proclaimed Toronto DJ, Mike Don’t, posted a screenshot of an Instagram exchange.

X Users Claimed The Drake Diss Incident Was False

The exchange saw Mike Don’t ask about the alleged “Not Like Us” incident. According to his source, however, the DJ was not kicked out. In fact, people who were attempting to bully the DJ into not playing “Not Like Us” were the ones allegedly booted. “No he didn’t get kicked out,” the source stated. “Some guys tried to pressure him to not play Kendrick but the guys who tried it got kicked out lol.” Another X user tweeted @OGxTP with more contradictory information.

The user not only included the Mike Don’t Instagram exchange, but another X exchange between someone who attended Silent H. “I was at Silent H last night and didn’t see this at all,” the alleged attendee noted. The user, @sryidkwhyimhere, accused @OGxTP of lying to users about the whole incident. “you LIED about the dj getting kicked out and not getting paid,” they replied, before adding more information. “I just watched the DJ’s Instagram stories and it also shows you’re lying.”

As it stands, there’s far more evidence to suggest the Drake diss incident didn’t happen.
