Cardi B Speaks Up For Viral Black Performers Amid Backlash

Cardi B is no stranger to speaking her mind in support of others, despite not always having the popular opinion. The entertainer quickly jumped on Instagram Live last night (Feb. 21) to discuss the backlash two Black men are receiving online for their viral videos. In short, popular TikTokers “The Dancing Gorilla” and “Chicken Boy” are receiving widespread hate for their outlandish performances in mostly White spaces. A petition to ban “Dancing Gorilla” Big Groove has already made its rounds as he gyrates his way onto our Explore pages.

“I seen a lot of people compare their content to […] Blackface or how people used to act for White people’s entertainment,” says Cardi. Although she admits “their content is very cringy,” the megastar is upset petitioners are trying to block their main sources of income overall. “They’re not cursing in their content, they’re not promoting all this gang violence. They’re not being bums-they’re actually getting paid by these restaurants to do it,” she adds. Furthermore, she compares their virality to that of Jake Paul’s, as she wonders why he hasn’t received the same treatment as his cohorts.

Cardi B Questions “Crab In A Barrel” Mentality

Cardi B continues to badger critics, calling them “crabs in a barrel” at one point. ”If you think that it’s lame as fu*k to dance and crunk around in a restaurant… Guess what?” she questions. “There [are] White content creators that are drinking soda out of $10,000 pairs of shoes.” Big Groove—real name Clive Ibizugbe—has gained over 690k followers on his TikTok page since making waves for his stature and dance moves in popular eateries. “Chicken Boy,” known as YuddyGangTV on his socials, has surpassed him with over 6 million. YuddyGang’s claim to fame has been his over-the-top responses when eating unhealthy foods with mounds of sauce. Both men have been accused of performing minstrelsy, an act where those donning Blackface would act as people of African descent.

In conclusion, the diva wants the same energy reciprocated towards their White counterparts who’ve gone to make millions. This is just one of the many instances Cardi B has responded to in recent weeks. Prior to this, the rapper hopped on Twitter to defend herself and husband Offset. The former Migos member was mentioned in a J. Prince video where the Texas music exec spoke on Offset’s relationship with the late Takeoff.

Kim Kardashian And Mariah Carey Unite With Daughters On TikTok

TikTok is solely responsible for the reintroduction of 90’s and early 2000’s classics these days. One of the latest song trends comes from R&B legend Mariah Carey, whose 2009 hit, “It’s a Wrap” is taking over—it even has a dance. Yesterday (Feb. 20), the songstress teamed up with reality personality Kim Kardashian and their daughters for some wholesome fun on the clock app. Their rendition, unsurprisingly, has already garnered nearly six million views.

Mariah Carey’s daughter Monroe kicks off the video with North West Kardashian in the home she shares with her siblings. As they get in their groove, the girls are interrupted by their mothers, who come in from the sidelines in an attempt to steal their shine. They’re no match for their celebrity kids, however, who quickly shoo them off. The crew appears to have spent the day together according to other TikToks on Kim and North West’s joint page.

When she’s not on dinner dates with dad, North West spends her time creating more of a name for herself on TikTok. The mother-daughter duo currently have 14.5 million followers on their ever-entertaining @kimandnorth page. The rehearsing is useful as they prepare for the sequel to Paw Patrol. This will be North West’s acting debut, starring alongside Kim, her brother, Saint, and a legion of Hollywood stars. Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie is set to release in October 2023.

In addition to her acting skills, North West has garnered a bevy of fans for her artwork. Just last week, the nine-year-old caught the attention of Ice Spice with her rendition of the Bronx beauty. The drawing, inspired by North’s love for Ice and PinkPantheress’ “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2” drew a grateful response from her fav. When asked about the drawing, Ice Spice thanked the nepo baby and praised her for her skills. “She’s so talented,” the curly-headed artist told one reporter. When it comes to North’s social media presence overall, Kim Kardashian has set rules in place. She tells The Goop Podcast “[TikTok] can only be on my own phone.” In addition, “It’s not something where she can scroll and look at things. We don’t do comments. She loves to do it and it makes her so happy.”

Kim Kardashian & North West Show Love To Ice Spice On TikTok: Watch

There are millions of people creating content on TikTok, but no one is doing it quite like Kim Kardashian and her eldest daughter. Despite Kanye West previously protesting North’s use of the social media platform, she and her mom continue to collaborate on fun videos together that keep the internet laughing.

On Sunday (February 19), the 42-year-old posted a 15-second clip to her personal page. Like many other users of the app, Kardashian seems to have PinkPantheress and Ice Spice’s new collaboration stuck in her head. “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2” landed on DSPs earlier this month, and has quickly become a TikTok favourite, with various people using the song to soundtrack their posts.

In their video, the SKIMS founder and North take turns singing along to the Bronx baddie’s catchy lyrics. “But I don’t sleep enough without you,” Kim lip-syncs for the camera while laying in bed. “And I can’t eat enough without you / If you don’t speak, does that mean we’re through? / Don’t like sneaky shit that you do,” Spice’s verse concludes.

This isn’t the first time that the oldest Kardashian-West kid has shown love to the “Bikini Bottom” hitmaker. Earlier this month, she revealed that she’s got some serious drawing skills, putting together an impressive portrait of Isis Gaston. Upon seeing the artwork, Spice made sure to return the love to North.

Though 2022 was full of heartache for the mother of four, 2023 seems to be bringing her plenty of fun experiences. She hasn’t been romantically linked to anyone since splitting from Pete Davidson. Rather, Kardashian has been spending plenty of time with her friends and family – and not to mention making money moves.

Earlier this weekend, the socialite revealed a few of her favourite workouts on Instagram, shouting out her personal trainer for motivating her to keep her body right. Speaking of her figure, Kim also modelled various bikinis for her followers in an extraterrestrial ad campaign. All of this came before she flew to Las Vegas to watch Adele perform alongside Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber. Read more about that here, and check back later for more pop culture news updates.

Latto Twerks For TikTok While Celebrating New “Lottery” Single Despite Dr. Luke Backlash

Not everyone is feeling Latto’s first single of 2023, but she obviously is. On Friday (February 17), the 777 hitmaker shared “Lottery,” on which she collaborates with Congolese-Canadian artist LU KALA. The two girls’ voices sound undeniably great all through the song. However, some listeners are taking issue with the producer they chose to work with.

Dr. Luke helped put together the beat for the catchy release. He and Latto previously worked together on “Energy.” He’s also helped out female rappers like Saweetie, Doja Cat, and more recently, Nicki Minaj with “Super Freaky Girl.” His past allegations of sexual and emotional misconduct from Kesha led many to stop working with the producer. Still, some are clearly willing to look past the drama.

Since “Lottery” arrived earlier this weekend, the 24-year-old has been facing criticism for reuniting with the embattled industry veteran. Conversely, others are pointing out that it’s not fair to slam Latto and give Minaj grace for her decision to recruit Dr. Luke last year. Additionally, some pointed out that the former was quick to bash the Trinidadian’s husband for his own troubled past, but was somehow able to overlook her producer’s transgressions.

Even with all the hate mentions coming her way, the “Another Nasty Song” hitmaker remains unbothered. On Saturday (February 18), she shared a TikTok dancing and singing along to “Lottery.” She chiefly sure to show off her booty while twerking in her animal print pyjamas.

@latto777

The comment section on this platform looks far kinder than Twitter has been about the new song. Her vocal collaborator took a moment to write, “How are you this pretty?!!!” earning her a response from the fashionista. “That’s YOUUUU,” Latto penned to KALA. Elsewhere, others have been chatting about the track’s “Barbie Girl” vibes, and how lucky the vanity is to be twerked on by the blonde beauty.

Most of the headlines surrounding Latto this weekend have been about her new music. Earlier in the week, though, it was a luxurious Valentine’s Day present from her mystery man that had the internet talking. The Ohio-born artist has been linked to 21 Savage for some time, however, both parties refuse to publicly confirm their relationship.

She’s certainly not willing to let the world know if she’s shacking up with her “Wheelie” collaborator. Still, Latto did get a tattoo of his first name behind her ear earlier this month, causing gossip to further fly. Emily Ratajkowski Posts About “Situationship” Ending After Eric André V-Day Nudes

Each and every Valentine’s Day, couples all around the world shock their Instagram followers by hard launching their relationship. Whether it’s the outcasts from high school you’d never picture together or two celebrities you’ve never met, the holiday has been known to yield shocking gossip. Among the latter category this year was an unexpected pair – Eric André and Emily Ratajkowski.

The comedian and the model began sparking romance rumours long before cupid came around. Unfortunately, it seems their fling may have ended just as quickly as it began. On Tuesday (February 14), André broke the internet with some scandalous selfies of the pair, causing their apparent coupling to become a hot topic of discourse. For the most part, many seem to be in favour of the pair, pointing out that it’s nice to see a runway model romancing someone less conventionally attractive than her.

Obviously, the nearly-nude photos of Ratajowski and André didn’t exactly confirm that they’re dating. Still, they did lead many to assume. On Friday (February 17), the mother of one further pushed these rumours forward with a TikTok which also seemingly hints at the end of their brief love affair. In the clip, she appears to lay in bed topless while using one of the app’s trending sounds.

“What should you do when a relationship ends?” the 31-year-old wrote on the screen. Her own answer to the question? “Start another one.” The point of the trend is for users to call themselves out on their toxic traits. It seems as though EmRata is willing to amid that she jumps from man to man more quickly than she’d like. Of course, this doesn’t mean she and André have wrapped. Seeing how quickly things with her and Pete Davidson went south, though, it wouldn’t be surprising.

The last few weeks of 2022 saw Ratajkowski spending her free time with the Saturday Night Live alum. After a few weeks of date nights and paparazzi shots, though, they called it quits. The New Yorker has since moved on with his co-star Chase Sui Wonders, while the brunette beauty vented about attracting “the worst men” shortly after. Read everything Emily had to say here, and check back later for more pop culture news updates.

Snoop Dogg & TikTok Partner For The Return Of Death Row’s Catalog

Just before the Super Bowl in 2022, Snoop Dogg revealed some major news – he acquired Death Row. The Long Beach rapper ushered in a new era for the iconic rap label with hopes to bring it into the digital space. He expressed interest in creating a label in the Metaverse. Throughout the past year, his efforts in the NFT space have been well-documented. However, the rapper also made a few decisions in recent times that have ruffled feathers. He previously removed the catalog from DSPs and left fans without projects like Dogg Pound’s Dogg Food.

In response to removing the catalog, Snoop Dogg explained that he wanted to create his own streaming platform. “First thing I did was snatch all the music off those platforms traditionally known to people because those platforms don’t pay,” Snoop explained on Drink Champs. “And those platforms get millions and millions of streams, and nobody gets paid other than the record labels.” Fortunately, the move became a temporary one and fans will soon have access to their favorite projects from Death Row.

Snoop Dogg & TikTok’s SoundOn Partner For The Return Of Death Row’s Catalog

Per TMZ, Snoop Dogg teamed up with TikTok’s music arm, SoundOn, to bring the Death Row catalog back online. His initial plans to launch his own streaming service aren’t in motion anymore. However, fans will be able to listen to the Death Row catalog on TikTok. Snoop and TikTok teamed up to create a custom Death Row playlist, which will be available prior to beloved albums — like Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle and 2Pac’s All Eyez On Me – returning to DSPs.

Snoop explained that people ask him daily when the catalog will head to streaming services again, which prompted his recent move with TikTok. “As the Super Bowl rolled around, I knew fans would be looking for the music from our iconic performance in 2022, so I wanted to reintroduce the most historic catalog to the people. I reached out to the folks at TikTok to make more history … enjoy ya’ll,” he said. Are you excited about the return of the Death Row catalog? Let us know in the comment section below.

Ice Spice Responds To North West’s Portrait Of Her

Ice Spice just responded to North West’s portrait of her that she shared on TikTok. Moreover, TMZ caught up with the Bronx rapper on Monday (February 13) and asked her if she saw the skillful drawing. “I did, it was so cute!” Spice replied. “Thank you, North.” Also, the reporter took the chance to ask her if she thought that talent ran in the family. Still, the 23-year-old didn’t play into Kanye West conversations just yet. “She’s so talented,” Ice replied simply. When asked whether she’d come out with new music soon, she responded with another simple “Yes.” Of course, maybe these answers are all paparazzi fodder, but it’s unlikely that she would just trash on the drawing.

Furthermore, Kim Kardashian often praised and showcased North’s work before. For example, they share a lot of pieces on TikTok, such as charcoal drawings that apparently represent North’s “emo phase.” Also, she spoke in February of 2022 of how happy her daughter’s expressions make her. “I love seeing, like, the personality and the moods and everything that she goes through and just feel like it’s really been an amazing hobby of hers.”

Meanwhile, the “Bikini Bottom” MC had quite the busy weekend, from adoring fans to rowdy concertgoers. To start, a fan tried to gift her a bouquet of flowers outside of a nightclub gig she headed to. While she smiled and acknowledged their sweetness, she denied the flowers and kept walking to her gig. From what this latest TMZ clip of the drawing indicates, it seems Ice is a master of dodging unwanted situations with chilly stoicism. Sure, she does so gracefully and with respect, but that takes a lot of media training. If anything, she only deserves props for being able to handle so many eyes on her with public poise.

However, things got tougher once she entered the venue itself. While she performed, a massive crowd started to amass near the stage. In fact, it became so overwhelming that the rapper had to push fans off her as they tried to get too close. Even with the DJ and scant security doing their best to crowd-control, it’s yet another resilient display from the superstar. Let us know what you think of her response in the comments and return to HNHH for the latest on Ice Spice.

North West Flexes Skills & Draws Ice Spice

Kim Kardashian previously spoke about North West’s artistic skills, and the mom-daughter duo is showing off the youngster’s talents. Kim and North have regularly made appearances on social media, specifically TikTok, where they post silly videos for fans. In a recent upload, North revealed her portrait of Ice Spice from a photo she pulled from the internet.

Considering she’s only nine years old, young North didn’t do half bad with her sketch. Additionally, we can only imagine Ice Spice’s response to having one of the most famous kids in the world casually drawing your image for their millions of followers. Regardless of what anyone else thinks, North was more than happy with the final product.

Back in February 2022, Kim showed off some of her daughter’s other art, including her charcoal drawing that expressed North’s “emo phase.” There was also a snowcapped mountain and a colorful wolf. It was later revealed that North was studying with a private teacher—no surprises there.

“I love seeing, like, the personality and the moods and everything that she goes through and just feel like it’s really been an amazing hobby of hers,” Kim said at the time. When the public noted North’s work mirrored others found online, a former student chimed in. It was noted that the teacher uses the same pictures to instruct all of her young students. Kardashian has opted to steer clear of critics and, instead, nurtured her daughter’s aspirations.

Meanwhile, Kim and North’s social media displays aren’t always welcomed by Kanye West. We may not have heard much from Ye in recent weeks, but there was a time when he made it clear that he didn’t want his daughter on TikTok. The complaint wasn’t lost on Kim, but she and North have pushed forward, regardless. These days, it seems that Kanye has conceded to seeing his daughter online. We haven’t heard much from him since his rumored wedding to Bianca Censori. Yet, it was speculated that West is laying low until he unveils his plans for the U.S. 2024 Presidential Election.
