Nicki Minaj Jumped On The Viral NPC TikTok Trend But Had A Hilariously Hard Time Keeping Up

Nicki Minaj is no stranger to social media. Whenever she’s not taking a temporary hiatus for personal reasons, the “Barbie World” rapper actively engages with her massive Barb fan base across platforms or claps back at rumors.

As she continues to work hard on the final touches of her forthcoming album, Pink Friday 2, Nicki took a break to let loose on TikTok. During her livestream on Sunday (August 13), she jumped on the viral NPC TikTok trend but had a hilariously hard time keeping up.

In the screen-recorded clip shared by Pop Base, as fans flood her broadcast with different virtual skins and items for her to turn into a sound effect, she couldn’t keep up. Nicki is a lyrical beast on the microphone, but her on-the-spot improvisation in alignment with the fad could use some work.

To explain the movement, the NPC (or “non-playable character”) trend, made popular by viral star PinkyDoll, is a role-play exercise where the broadcast pretends to be an idle background user in a video game controlled by those in the stream. With each gift, item, or skin donated, the streamer must incorporate a fun verbal quip about it once it appears on the screen.

Nicki managed to nail the microphone emoji effect, saying, “You know what I do on the mic. I destroy these h*es.” However, as more items, including an animated breakfast combo and a medieval helmet (great helm), she laughed her way through it as she tried to find the perfect catchphrase.

At one point, she even broke character when fans shared a hearted hand gif with her. “I told y’all about them hands. Don’t get blocked,” yelled Nicki.

Nicki Minaj might not have a future as the next big NPC TikToker, but she still is one of the greatest rappers ever to enter the spotlight.

Nicki Minaj says that she once went against Kanye West’s idea to appear on “Right Thru Me” instead of “Blazin” and that it’s one of the “dumbest” decisions she’s ever made. She recalled the making of her iconic album, Pink Friday, during a recent live stream on TikTok. The discussion comes ahead of the release of her highly anticipated sequel to the album.

“I don’t know if you guys have heard this story about ‘Blazin,’ but I wanted Kanye to be on ‘Blazin’ and he wanted to be on ‘Right Thru Me’,” Minaj explained. She concluded: “Dumbest fucking decision I ever made.” Minaj released “Right Thru Me” as the second single from Pink Friday and it performed much better than “Blazin.”

Minaj plans to release Pink Friday 2 on November 17. It will serve as her first studio album since 2018’s Queen. She announced the release date back in June, while also confirming that she plans to tour in support of the album the following year. “I love you guys so much,” she wrote on Instagram. “I am so grateful for the years of support & love you guys have given me. At times maybe I didn’t even deserve all that you have poured into me. Nonetheless, you. will. love. this. album. I will give tour deets closer to that time, but obviously the tour will start around the first quarter of 2024. I’ll also share the REAL album cover at a later date.”

In an Instagram post from 2017, she revealed that she had to convince West to keep their hit song, “Monster,” on the tracklist to the iconic album.

Coi Leray Believes People Have Completely Switched Up On TikTok

Coi Leray is someone who is no stranger as it pertains to going viral. In fact, much of her stardom stems from her constant stream of viral TikTok tracks. Although this led to some hip-hop fans not taking her seriously, she is still immensely popular. Overall, her latest album was packed with viral tracks, and it doesn’t seem like she has any plans of slowing down. The Coi train continues its warpath, and there is nothing the haters will be able to do about it. They’re just going to have to deal with that.

That said, it is not lost on Leray that a lot of the discourse surrounding her means of becoming famous is hypocritical. People would call her a “TikTok Artist” and make fun of the platform as a whole. However, when it comes to Generation Z, TikTok is by far the most popular platform. At this point, it is hard to imagine another platform doing what TikTok has done. Of course, Leray is well-aware of this, and she took to Twitter to call out those who used to dismiss TikTok. She even believes those same people who used to trash it, love it now.

“Lmaoo crazy how everybody who shitted on TikTok back then is eating it up now,” Coi wrote. She then sent a plethora of emojis before saying “awww.” Overall, it is a fair sentiment for Leray. She was disrespected for a few years because of her virality and it makes sense that she is now seeking her due respect. Unfortunately, the internet can be a truly cruel place, and it remains to be seen if any of those people ever admit that they were wrong.

TikTok has brought forth plenty of interesting trends since its inception. The latest one taking over the internet is NPC streaming. If you’re not familiar, the acronym stands for “non-playable character,” and finds users acting like video game extras while taking direction from those tuning into their broadcasts, usually in exchange for money. PinkyDoll is one of the best-known TikTokers blowing up thanks to her NPC posts and streams, though it seems Queen of Rap Nicki Minaj is coming to give her a run for her money.

On Sunday (August 13), a video from the mother of one’s latest Live quickly began making rounds. “A TikTok gun, it’s sending out money,” Minaj says in a robotic-like voice as viewers add on-screen effects to her face and background. “Oh, it’s a microphone. Y’all know what I do on that mic. I dest- I destroy these h*es. Whoa, a cake! Um, something from medieval times,” she continues, trying to keep up with the never-ending random objects being thrown at her.

While her performance was pretty impressive, Minaj did break character a few times throughout. “Get them muthaf**kin hands outta here,” she sternly tells misbehaving viewers. “I told y’all that b**ch, don’t get blocked, b**ch.” Without missing a beat she then went back into NPC mode, continuing to amuse us with her effortless comedy routine. It’s unclear if we’ll be seeing the “Barbie Dreams” hitmaker partaking in the trend anymore in the future, but as many are pointing out, she could easily make a career for herself as a fulltime TikTok star.

It’s not likely we’ll see Nicki Minaj and PinkyDoll dropping a song together anytime soon (though the Head Barb has made a point of working with lesser-known artists lately). Still, she has her sights set on connecting with Ice Spice in the future, and some fans seem to be on board with the idea. NPC TikToker Goes Viral For Posing As 50 Cent

A TikTok user is going viral on the platform for posing as 50 Cent for the NPC trend. In a video of one of the user’s posts, he can be seen remarking “G-Unit” while listening to 50’s classic Get Rich or Die Tryin’ song, “Many Men.”

When 2Cool2Blog shared one of the TikTok’s on Instagram, fans were not thrilled with the content. “Yeah, humans are bored & desperate at this point,” one user wrote. Another expressed their overall confusion: “What is this NPC stuff? Teach me like a kindergartner [prayer hands] please I’m trying to understand.” One commenter thought it was a promotion for Power. “Thought was ghost from power, thought was a hint or prelude to him coming back to power,” they admitted.

The 50 Cent NPC TikToker is just the latest to jump on the trend. PinkyDoll went viral, last month, for her strange live streams on TikTok, but later revealed she is making tons of money from the posts. At one point, she claimed to make over $7,000 daily with her odd looping dialogue.

As the NPC TikToker goes viral, the real 50 Cent is currently performing on his Final Lap tour. He’s set to perform at Brooklyn’s Barclay’s Center on Thursday and Friday night. When 50 initially announced the run of concerts, he admitted to his fans that it could be his final tour as he shifts his focus to film and television. “I won’t be running around like this no more,” he explained on Instagram Live in May. “I gotta do my film and television stuff and got a lot of other things going on behind the scenes that I gotta work on. So I won’t be out touring as much as I’ve been touring… I’m having fun this time because it’s set up to enjoy myself, we not feeling pressure.”

Eminem criticized Donald Trump during a resurfaced interview clip that is circulating on TikTok. In the video, which was posted by user @Rising_path, the Detroit rapper argues that the former president brainwashes his supporters through his rhetoric.

“Watching him play to his base that thinks that he cares about them, and it’s actually the people that he cares about the f**king least,” Eminem said in the video. “If you’re talking about his core being, you know, a majority white middle class, what I don’t understand is how in the f**k do you feel like you relate to a billionaire who has never known struggle his entire f**king life.”

In the latter half of the video, we get a glimpse of Censori’s style before the father of four began influencing her. In the first snap, she looks comparable to his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, while wearing beige biker shorts and a barely-there top. To add more emphasis to her voluptuous curves, Bianca squats down confidently in a pair of stripper heels.

Viral TikTok Hit “Planet Of The Bass” Getting Full Song August 15

If you’ve spent any time on TikTok over the last few weeks, you’ve probably encountered “Planet of the Bass”. The song is a bombastic homage to European dance music of the late 1990s. People have compared the 50-second video, which has nearly 7 million views, to the likes of Aqua. The video has everything – a wildly dressed man (DJ CrazyTimes), a blonde vocalist (Ms. Biljana Electronica), and nonsensical lyrics (“Life, it never dies/Women are my favorite guy”). The video has people absolutely obsessed. Many outlets have reported on it as the “sound of the summer”, despite it literally being a 50-second TikTok.

DJ CrazyTimes is a long-running character for comedian Kyle Gordon. His previous videos with the character have largely been skits based on the stereotypes of era-appropriate European DJs. However, while his videos are usually decently successful, “Planet of the Bass” is far and away his biggest hit to date. And now, fans are getting a full song later this month.

In a new video showing a revised version of the song, Gordon announced that a full version of the song will be released later this month. “I flew to Croatia to film this. Full song Aug. 15!” Gordon wrote as a caption to the video. However, fans are split about the news for one specific reason – Ms. Biljana Electronica. Ms. Biljana Electronica is a core feature of the original “Planet of the Bass” video. She is the primary vocalist and the main star of the skit. However, the new clip shared by Gordon shows that the original Ms. Biljana Electronica has been replaced by influencer Mara Olney.

Fans are incredibly upset about this development. After the video released on August 3, Jezebel wrote a piece entitled “DJ Crazy Times Swapped Out Ms. Biljana Electronica for a Brunette, As If We Wouldn’t Notice.” Meanwhile, fans voiced their displeasure in the comments section. “THE PEOPLE WANT MS BILJANA,” one person proclaimed. “Not gonna lie, Ms. Biljana’s energy was everything in the previous version. This is not Electric Electic ,” noted another. There is certainly a different vibe to the new video. However, hopefully the rest of the song slaps just as hard. Drake Trolls Fan He Spotted Sleeping At Milwaukee Show

It appears that Drake’s It’s All a Blur show in Milwaukee was an especially wild time. After coming out to the stage, Drake made a wild claim about who was meant to walk him out. Drizzy said that Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo was meant to do it but that the Greek NBA icon was on “vacation”. In actuality, Giannis was in Greece preparing for the FIBA World Cup later this month.

Later in the show, the Toronto rapper noticed that one fan had managed to fall asleep. In response, Drake began singing louder and louder until the fan woke up to Drizzy singing directly at him and thousands of fans laughing hysterically. However, he wasn’t the only person who got trolled during the performance. Drake also delivered a hilarious backhanded compliment to another fan. The 6 God said the fan looked great “even though you’re wearing Yeezys.”

It’s All A Blur Tour Continues To Be Wild

However, the Milwaukee shenanigans are just the latest headlines in a truly wild tour from Drake. After starting nearly a month after it was supposed to, Drake’s had phones and bras thrown at him while also having fans face-plant at his guest stars.
