In mid-October, some truly wild rumors were flying around social media about TikToker, “LifeandScars.” For those unaware of him, he makes a lot of relationship content, and his takes usually ruffle a lot of feathers. Overall, he’s built up quite a reputation and has been on multiple platforms for a few years now. As for the rumors, friends and some of his Discord moderators were claiming that the 37-year-old multi-media figure had passed away. They were saying that an accidental overdose was the cause of his death. One of his affiliates on Discord even came out and said, “Listen, I also can’t believe that this happened. All I know is that he passed away from an overdose. An update will be posted if I get one.”
Fans of “LifeandScars” were even sendinng their condolences and remembering his impact. However, about a week later, reports began to surface that this was all a hoax. Instead, the TikTok creator was arrested on a misdemeanor charge and was released on bond the day he “died.” Those same people close to LifeandScars that were confirming the previous news were the ones behind the joke. They admitted to not wanting to debunk the false reports “’cause that s*** was funny.” Despite this and some photos making the rounds, it was hard to believe if “LifeandScars” was actually alive.
“LifeAndScars” AKA “Game Is Game” Boldly Announces His Return
Well, we can finally put that to rest today, as he is back online. Akademiks TV posted a clip from the content creator’s recent YouTube video boldly announcing his return. He first takes a seat in his chair and puts on ear-to-ear smile. “LifeandScars” then takes a rip of fentanyl before speaking. “Well. Well, well, well, well, well,” he begins.
“Hello motherf***ers. How the f*** y’all doin’ tonight?” He then proposes a toast, but not to the most conventional of people. “To all the underage drinkers. To all the drunk drivers… all the pregnant b****es… recovering addicts… unregistered sex offenders, and last but not least to all the people who are alive.” He then adds, “Everybody always do a toast to the people who dead. N****, let’s toast to the people who alive. B**** n**** we here. To all the people who dead, I’m glad I ain’t y’all. Game is Game, nice to be back fellas.” He doesn’t address the rumors in the clip, but maybe he will?
LifeandScars has been allegedly confirmed to be the subject of a fake death hoax. His Discord moderators and friends confirmed that he is supposedly still alive according to Dexerto. For those unaware, rumors spread on Friday, October 18 that the controversial TikToker and media personality (also known as “Game Is Game”) had passed away from a drug overdose. Now, we know that’s apparently not true, but something else did happen that day. He was reportedly arrested on a misdemeanor charge and bonded out the same day. Game Is Game hasn’t publicly addressed this whole drama yet. The situation is overall still murky regarding how these rumors even began.
In fact, it was LifeandScars’ own supposed friends and Discord community that seemed to joke about his death or claim it in the first place. There were posts on the online platform about his supposed last words, him using drugs, and other statements that didn’t really outright confirm or deny this. “Somehow his stupid a** irl friends believed the discord over just messaging him,” one moderator reportedly wrote. In addition, folks shared an image of Game Is Game to confirm he’s alive. But given how complicated and vague this whole situation seems, we should still take it with a grain of salt.
“There is no word on the street. We told ya’ll he’s out on bail,” another moderator reportedly expressed about a week after LifeandScars’ false death rumors started to spread. Reportedly, the moderator said that they didn’t shut down this speculation as soon as possible “’cause that s**t was funny.” Also, because it’s “not [their] fault over 4,000 people decided to think he was dead.”
For those unaware, LifeandScars is a popular content creator and social media personality. He’s known for his hot TikTok takes on relationships and more. Other reports allege that Game Is Game was in legal trouble earlier this year for allegedly assaulting a woman. He was allegedly scheduled to appear in court on October 18 (the day allegedly false death rumors spread) for a warrant for his arrest that emerged late last month. This situation is still pretty unclear, so keep your eyes peeled for more direct and verifiable confirmation.
DDG has not had it easy since breaking up with Halle Bailey. The rapper and YouTuber requested that fans respect their privacy. In truth, they have done everything but. They have memed DDG for not being good enough to hold on to Bailey. They’ve also made fake screenshots of DDG Instagram posts, that he has had to debunk. The latest DDG controversy may be the meanest, though. A TikToker made a post in which she accused the rapper of trapping Halle Bailey with a child. He responded, and then she got back at him. It was a whole mess.
The overall sentiment of the TikTok post was that DDG purposely “trapped” his ex-girlfriend by starting a family with her and then breaking up. DDG didn’t appreciate the theory, and took to Instagram Live to set the record straight. “CPM’s not that high for you to be on there talking for two minutes about me,” he told followers. The rapper then decided to get personal with the TikTok creator. “You got two kids, I looked on your Instagram…. with no baby daddy. But you worry about me.” DDG made it clear that he didn’t want or think people should be, in his personal business. “Y’all need to stop,” he added. “I be seeing what y’all be saying, bro.”
The creator, who goes by the handle @frankie_aab, responded. She scrolled through Halle Bailey’s Instagram and noted that DDG is nowhere to be found. “I need y’all to let me know when you see DDG on her page,” she remarked. “It’s funny that you try to use me being a baby mama as an insult when you turned her into a baby mama your damn self.” The creator then noted that including the father of her children on her social media would not make sense. “Why would I have my ex-husband on my page,” @frankie_aab asked. “Did you ever marry that girl?”
The TikToker proceeded to criticize DDG for trying to cast her in a negative. She claimed that her kids are currently spending time with their father, effectively disproving the implication that her ex-husband is not in their lives. There’s a bit of a double standard at play, here, admittedly. @frankie_aab is rightfully calling out DDG for making assumptions and casting aspersions on her life. The whole TikTok exchange started, though, because she was doing the same thing about his life.
Chloe Bailey never hesitates to flaunt her figure on social media, but recently, the 26-year-old accidentally showed off more than she bargained for. Earlier this week, the songstress gave her supporters a look at a bright red corset dress she rocked for GLAMOUR’S 2024 Women of the Year Awards on TikTok Live. She highlighted the back of the dress before turning around and accidentally exposing her breasts.
Bailey looked shocked and ultimately sat down to ask fans not to share any screengrabs of her wardrobe malfunction. Unfortunately, however, clips of the mishap quickly began to make their rounds online. Either way, it doesn’t look like Bailey has let the debacle get her down. At the aforementioned awards show, she was named Musician Of The Year.
She shared a series of jaw-dropping photos from the evening yesterday, also writing a heartfelt caption about the honor. “i felt like a babydoll tonight thank you @glamouruk for naming me Woman of the Year’s Musician of the Year i am incredibly honored and filled with such gratitude !! thank you to @therealeve for presenting this award to me and always inspiring me. going to bed with the sweetest smile on my face!!!!!” she wrote. In a conversation with Glamour, published earlier this week, she also opened up about how she deals with criticism. According to her, she simply opts to shut it out.
“Sometimes I will take certain socials off of my phone,” she told the outlet. “You know, I think we all need a break sometimes. Or I will just choose to ignore it. I’ve also gotten used to the block button.” What do you think of Chloe Bailey suffering a wardrobe malfunction on TikTok Live? Earlier this week, authorities confirmed that the body of Baton Rouge therapist William Abraham was found wrapped in a tarp beside the Tangipahoa Parish highway. At the time, the 69-year-old’s cause of death had not been revealed. Sheriff Gerald Sticker later shared that he had been badly beaten. “It was a very physical scene for lack of better words,” he said, according to WBRZ. “There was a lot of blunt force trauma and a lot of injury to this individual.”
Reportedly, Abraham’s roommate claimed he left home on September 29 to clean his car and do paperwork at his office. Sadly, however, he never returned. The day after Abraham’s corpse was discovered, authorities shared a blurry image of who they allege is the last person to have driven Abraham’s car. This resulted in countless theories from social media users. One of them was that the man driving the car was allegedly 20-year-old TikTok personality Mr Prada.
Fox 8 now reports that Mr Prada was arrested yesterday after allegedly fleeing from police during a traffic stop. He’s also been named a person of interest in Abraham’s death, per the outlet. He’s reportedly facing charges of alleged aggravated criminal damage to property, resisting an officer, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
“He was kind, loving, a gentle man and frankly not the kind of man that something like this would’ve happened to,” Abraham’s attorney Jarret Ambeau said of his client, according to WAFB. “I’m absolutely devastated and completely surprised that something like that could’ve happened to a man who I believe to be so tender and so gentle and have such a service heart.” What do you think of TikTok personality Mr Prada allegedly being linked to the investigation into therapist William Abraham’s passing? People not from a select few parts of the world might not know this, but TikTok has a streaming music app: TikTok Music launched in July 2023 and is currently available in Australia, Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico, and Singapore. If you’re a user of the platform, enjoy it while it lasts: TikTok announced today (September 24) that TikTok Music will shut down on on November 28, just over a year after its launch.
TikTok Music shared an announcement online, reading in part, “Dear users, We are sorry to inform you that TikTok Music will be closing on November 28, 2024. After this date, access to TikTok Music, including login, subscriptions, and all other functionalities, will no longer be available.”
It goes on to encourage users to transfer their playlists to other platforms by October 28, and to request refunds by November 28. The TikTok Music website has more instructions.
Ole Obermann, TikTok’s global head of music business development, said in a statement (as Billboard reports), “Our Add to Music App feature has already enabled hundreds of millions of track saves to playlists on partner music streaming services. We will be closing TikTok Music at the end of November in order to focus on our goal of furthering TikTok’s role in driving even greater music listening and value on music streaming services, for the benefit of artists, songwriters and the industry.”
At the time of TikTok Music’s launch in 2023, Obermann hailed the platform as “a new kind of service that combines the power of music discovery on TikTok with a best-in-class streaming service.”
Nicki Minaj has beef with other rappers. It’s what she does when she’s not making hits. The beef that she’s sparking up with JAY-Z has been particularly bitter, though. The rapper absolutely laid into Hov after it was announced that Kendrick Lamar, and not Lil Wayne, would be headlining the 2025 Halftime Show in New Orleans. Nicki Minaj questioned JAY-Z’s allegiance, and called him some pretty nasty names in the process. Apparently, she had more to say.
Nicki Minaj’s initial Twitter rant took place on September 9. A day later, though, the rapper decided to drop more anti-Hov rhetoric on a DJ Akademiks TikTok post. Ak was covering the fallout of the Halftime Show announcement, and the alleged tensions between JAY-Z and Drake. Minaj went into the comment section and proceeded to make some bold claims about JAY’s former streaming service, Tidal. Tidal did not pan out like the rapper intended, but in seemed like it was going to be the next big thing in 2015. A lot of fans likely remember the Tidal signing event, where a host of superstars took to the stage to serve as partial owners.
Nicki Minaj Calls Out JAY-Z Over Her 2015 Tidal Deal
Nicki Minaj was one of these superstars. She signed a streaming deal with Tidal, and proceeded to stand onstage next to Rihanna, Madonna, and countless others. The only problem? She didn’t get paid. Minaj claimed that she never received payment from the platform, despite JAY selling Tidal on the notion of making more for the artist. “I didn’t even get one red penny,” the rapper wrote. To add insult to injury, at least in her mind, Minaj was stiffed on signing to a platform that she spent lots of time promoting. She claimed to have promoted it as much as JAY-Z’s own wife, Beyonce. “No one promoted it more than me outside of Beyonce,” she added. “Lol chi.”
Nicki Minaj’s claims directly contrasts previous reports about Tidal. JAY-Z sold the streaming platform for a whopping $300 million in 2021. The Shade Room reported that the stars who were listed as co-owners of the platform were given a payout of $8.9 million. This was intended to cover the 3% stake that each of them, Minaj included, had in the company. Minaj has never mentioned Tidal drama in the past, which is a bit suspicious, but we get the sense that she has a lot more to say about JAY-Z in the near future. Maybe she will provide evidence to support her financial claims.
It’s been an undoubtedly rough couple of months for most Drake fans. With that being said, for the lucky ones who actually get to hang out with the hitmaker in person, it appears to be the opposite. Recently, athlete and content creator Anthony Hamilton Jr. took to TikTok to document his experience spending time with Drizzy. According to him, it was nothing short of luxurious. His video showcased a high-end hotel stay, round-the-clock car service, a shopping spree at the OVO store, and more.
Hamilton Jr. even shared clips of himself playing basketball with Drake on his massive indoor court. Obviously, this kind of treatment is reserved for a select few, but social media users are impressed nonetheless. “He is a good guy,” one X user claims. “Wtf where my invite,” another jokes.
Drake Fan Flexes Shopping Spreeas, Fancy Hotels, Rooftop Dining, And More
Of course, there are also plenty of commenters speculating that Drake could just be trying to improve his public image following his explosive beef with Kendrick Lamar. These accusations are unconfirmed, though they’re far from the only ones he’s been hit with recently. Earlier this week, for example, an independent artist named Sixpathsss took to Instagram to accuse him of stealing his bars for “No Face.” Drake has yet to respond to these claims, which fans are extremely skeptical about. This week, Clevie of Steely & Clevie also accused Drake of sampling their track on “Blue Green Red” without properly clearing it with them. “We can’t clear a song without hearing it,” he told Dancehall Magazine. “But Drake went ahead and leaked it before.”
On the bright side, Drake appears to be enjoying the remainder of his summer, despite whatever his foes might have to say about it. What do you think of a lucky Drake fan detailing their luxurious experience hanging out with him? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.
It’s a bittersweet moment approaching the mid-August mark every year. The last few days of summer are those to cherish while the year’s final stretch lies ahead. Still, we have about one-third of 2024 left to produce hit records and albums that could top the year-end list. However, around this time, we start to look back at the records that defined the summer, and TikTok is probably an accurate reflection of the soundtrack to our core memories around this time.
It’s impossible to acknowledge the imprint that Kendrick Lamar had this year through a week’s worth of activity. From “Euphoria” to “Not Like Us,” he smashed the charts and emerged victorious in his long-standing feud with Drake, and by the time June rolled around, it became clear that the latter was going to be pervasive throughout the months that followed. But beyond Dot’s #1 single, TikTok’s top 10 Songs of the Summer in the U.S. also included several smash hits from hip-hop and R&B vets and newcomers, along with acts like Billie Eilish and Sabrina Carpenter. For the most part, hip-hop reigned supreme on TikTok this summer. Below, we’ll be diving into them.
TikTok has been the launching pad of several careers. Some may have predicted that it might not be sustainable but in the case of Jordan Adetunji, it seems like it’s only the beginning. His hit record began to gain traction on the platform, and eventually, landed a feature from Kehlani herself. “KEHLANI” comes in at #10 on TikTok’s Songs Of The Summer list.
Kendrick Lamar – “Not Like Us”
It could’ve been worse for Drake. It could’ve been #1. However, Kendrick Lamar, who one might describe as the antithesis of TikTok fame, found footing on the social media app with his hit song/diabolical diss track aimed at Toronto. Throughout the summer, the song has catapulted to radio and TikTok heights in ways that we’ve never seen before with a diss record. Nonetheless, it had a stronghold among the top 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 over the past few months while the single soundtracked basically every type of TikTok video possible – dance videos, cooking videos, and even political commentary.
GloRilla’s career could basically be on vacation between September – April, and still pop out as the reigning queen of the summer. Landing at #8 is her highly infectious collaboration alongside Megan Thee Stallion, which has transformed into a soundtrack for twerking and hair styling. Though “TGIF” definitely has a higher ranking for our summer 2024 anthems, “Wanna Be” isn’t too far behind.
Lay Bankz – “Tell Your Girl”
Lay Bankz has been making some major noise over the past few years but her efforts on TikTok have undoubtedly gained the most amount of attention. Fortunately, that has worked in her favor and landed her a spot on this year’s Songs of The Summer. In March 2024, a dance trend on TikTok, initiated by user @who.is.ga6y and later boosted by @laurieluna13, propelled “Tell Ur Girlfriend” to popularity, resulting in a surge of streams. By the following month, the track had appeared in millions of TikTok videos. Bankz filmed the music video for “Tell Ur Girlfriend,” which landed at #7, in her hometown of Philadelphia, which also sparked a separate TikTok trend focused on her appearance in the video.
Ian has been one of the most divisive figures in hip-hop this year. Still, the controversy that’s followed him has played a significant role in his overall success as becoming a leader of the new generation of hip-hop. With the release of Valedictorian, he finally broke into mainstream consciousness and his hit record, “Magic Johnson” has contributed towards that. The single has made some major waves online, thanks to TikTok, cementing its status as one of the biggest hits of the summer.
Initially released in 2011, this single from Dev Hynes a.k.a Blood Orange has rightfully earned its title as a timeless record. “Champagne Coast” has gained momentum through a variety of trends, such as the one where people ask their younger selves different prompts, like “did we make it?” or “did we strike it rich?” another trend suggests that a person will stay single until they hear “Champagne Coast” when gazing into the eyes of a potential partner. Blood Orange topped the TikTok Billboard 50 chart earlier this summer.
Tinashe – “Nasty”
As far as transcending through the times, Tinashe’s resilience deserves the utmost applaud. However, the release of “Nasty” marked a new era in her career, one where she delivered one of the hardest R&B bangers of the summer that has spawned a ton of dance and trending challenges on TikTok. In April, “Nasty” gained viral fame after the song was placed over a video of UK dancer Nate de Winer biting his nail and rolling his hips to the song. Since then, it’s earned well over 13 million views, inspiring dance routines by Christina Aguilera and Janet Jackson, among others.
Perhaps, it was inevitable that Richman would face industry plant accusations the moment he had his breakout but let’s be real, “Million Dollar Baby” is an undeniable hit. Along with “Not Like Us,” this song has had a strong grip on radio, social media, and the clubs for the entirety of the summer and will likely continue to dominate in the months to come. That said, it’s no wonder that it was the #1 song on TikTok over the past few months. Tommy Richman defined the summer of 2024.
Mike Dean hopped onto TikTok to inquire about a storage unit full of items that apparently previously belonged to Kanye West or members of his team. User @lockerblocker20 came across the storage unit and showed off what they found inside, earlier this week. In response, Dean hopped in the comments section to ask: “Any Mike Dean cases in there?”
While the creator responded “No,” they did find plenty of other interesting items. There were costumes from West’s iconic “Sunday Service” events, various pieces of audio equipment, Yeezy design notes, and much more. Apart from Mike Dean, other users in the comments had plenty of jokes about the situation. “Kim told him to come get his stuff and she stuck it in a storage unit lol,” one top comment reads. Another fan noted: “This is Kanye’s design patterns. This is WILD. This has to be worth some dollars.”
Mike Dean Performs On The Weeknd’s “After Hours Til Dawn”
Despite Dean’s inquiry, he and Kanye West had a bit of a falling out back in 2022. After the controversial rapper shared a series of antisemitic posts on social media, Dean posted a statement from Steve Angello online, in which the Swedish House Mafia member reacted to Ye going on Alex Jones’ InfoWars show. “When media attention becomes more important than like itself, you’re on a slippery slope,” wrote Angello. “Saying provocative things to trigger social media for clicks and action is pathetic.” A year later, a fan on X (formerly Twitter) asked why he hadn’t been collaborating with West as of late. “Because I’m busy with much cooler people,” Dean responded.
Fan Discover’s Storage Locker Full Of Kanye West Memorabilia
The viral TikTok comes after West teamed up with Ty Dolla Sign for a second installment in their Vultures album series, earlier this month. Be on the lookout for further updates on Mike Dean on HotNewHipHop.
