Gunplay And Wife Challenge DJ Envy To Boxing Match, Legal Action

It’s safe to say that Gunplay and DJ Envy do not like each other. Their most recent bout of beef dates back to late May, when Envy made comments about Gunplay’s daughter during an episode of The Breakfast Club. Gunplay’s daughter was born with a heart defect and required open-heart surgery. Gunplay and his wife launched a GoFundMe to help cover the medical costs of the procedure.

Things escalated further when audio of a heated phone call between the two personalities was leaked. In the clip, Gunplay appears to reject Envy’s attempt at an apology. Furthermore, Gunplay then issued Envy with a cease and desist concerning “false, slanderous, and defamatory statements.” Now, it appears that Gunplay and his wife are taking things yet another step further.

A post shared by We In Miami Podcast (@weinmiamipodcast)

Appearing on the We In Miami podcast, Gunplay and his wife, Vonshae Taylor-Morales, outlined their next steps regarding DJ Envy. For Gunplay, he wanted to settle things in the ring. “Yo Envy, what’s up? Put on the gloves, let’s get it,” Gunplay began before confirming he was genuinely challenging Envy to a fight. “We could do it and raise some money for charity or whatever.” “You know, they could do a little [fight] and donate to the hospital our daughter had surgery at,” Taylor-Morales chimed in.

She continued. “I got a phone call from my father. My father listens to the The Breakfast Club morning show, and he was like ‘Is there a problem? Do I need to go up there by my granddaughter?’ So I’m like what’s going on? So I got on my daughter’s Instagram page and obviously, you know how trolls are. And they’re coming crazy about ‘oh, you need to sign your parent rights away to Envy,’ and I was very upset. It literally took me to a very traumatic space. No one’s expecting to give birth to a daughter with a heart defect that rare and having open heart surgery.” Taylor-Morales confirmed that she had received multiple assurances from The Breakfast Club that the material would be taken down. However, since that has not happen, she feels that she has no other choice that pursue the issue as a legal matter.

Young Nudy Explains The Difference Between 4L And 4PF

There are so many rappers with so many different affiliations that people can’t even keep up. Even people who might really want to know those things, like Charlamagne Tha God for example. In a recent episode of The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne confused 4L and 4PF and needed Young Nudy to clarify for him. After he notices Nudy is sporting the 4L he confuses it with Lil Baby’s 4PF. Funny enough, Charlamagne doesn’t really know the difference. Thankfully, everyone is able to laugh it off and Nudy fills him in.

After Charlamagne asks “What’s the difference?” Nudy answers simply “we the biggest. Big 4L.” The video made the rounds on various news sites and social media pages today where fans expressed their surprise that Charlamagne would make such a mistake. While neither of the two have made any comments on the interview since it was released plenty of observers have chimed in.

Young Nudy Clarifies For Charlamagne

Young Nudy dropped his new album Gumbo back in February. The album sports features from Key Glock and 21 Savage. Speaking of 21, the rapper made a guest appearance last month at one of Nudy’s shows in Atlanta. The two teamed up to perform “Peaches & Eggplants” their collaborative single from Nudy’s new album. The two Atlanta-based rappers are actually cousins and link up with each other often on record. During the raid that resulted in 21 Savage’s memorable detainment by ICE, Nudy was also arrested and charged with aggravated assault. According to reports following the raid, it was Nudy’s assault in the first place that led to the raid and 21 Savage’s ICE detainment happened afterward.

The artist has been prolifically releasing albums for years. Gumbo follows 2022’s EA Monster and 2021’s Rich Shooter. Those albums feature guest performances from artists like Future, Gucci Man, and Babydrill. His track “EA” with 21 Savage recently received a new remix from fellow Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty. He debuted the remix back in April during a live-streamed DJ set. What do you think of Nudy’s appearance and explanation on The Breakfast Club? Let us know in the comments below.

Ja Morant’s Gun Was Allegedly Fake But Suspension Still Expected

The fate of Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant remains unknown. On May 14, Morant was suspended by the Grizzlies after a video of him flashing a gun on Instagram Live went viral. Despite Morant apologizing for the incident, Commissioner Adam Silver expressed “shock” at the video. Furthermore, Silver announced that Morant’s punishment would be withheld until after the NBA Finals.

The incident has completely altered the trajectory of Morant’s career. He has been widely condemned for the incident. Furthermore, police in Tennessee performed a wellness check at Morant’s residence after a cryptic and worrying Instagram post. Elsewhere, Kendrick Perkins suggested that Morant could be better served with a move out of Memphis. Now, Morant’s team is throwing a Hail Mary.

Morant’s Team Claims The Gun Was Fake

Sources within Ja Morant’s camp are claiming that the gun Morant was seen with is in fact fake. These allegations were first reportedly by The Breakfast Club‘s Claudia Jordan. “The relative in the car in the back seat had a toy gun, not real, and was playing around with it and passed it [to Morant] and that got caught on the Live. The NBA has the video and allegedly, the gun looks extremely fake, obviously a toy gun. But according to my source, allegedly, Adam Silver is still going to go through with the suspension, [which is] looking like it’s going to be about 30 games.” However, the news has not been met with much sympathy online. The Breakfast Club panel questioned why the fake gun narrative was only being brought up now.

As previously mentioned, Morant apologized three days after the footage went viral. However, he never previously mentioned the gun being fake or a toy. Furthermore, it’s likely that the news is being leaked in order to try and sway public opinion in favor of Morant. The thinking likely is that public outcry with this new information could say the NBA. However, as many people have noted after the news broke, it doesn’t matter if the gun is fake or not. Morant goaded the NBA with his actions, forcing the league’s hand if they wanted to retain any sort of credibility. At the end of the day, fake or not, Morant is being punished on principle, not because of his specific actions.

Jess Hilarious Gets Flamed For Making Light Of DaniLeigh’s Arrest

Jess Hilarious has been on The Breakfast Club for a while now, where she has effectively replaced Angela Yee. However, just like most changes to any popular show, there has been a feeling-out process. Some people love the addition of Hilarious. Although, there are some people who don’t. Overall, this polarization was to be expected, especially when you consider how long the original Breakfast Club trio was doing it for. Unfortunately, Hilarious fell out of favor with fans today as she made some not-so-great comments about the DaniLeigh situation.

To bring everyone up to speed here, DaniLeigh was arrested yesterday for Driving Under the Influence. She allegedly engaged in a hit-and-run where she ended up fracturing a man’s vertebrae. Overall, this is a very shocking and upsetting story for many reasons. Drunk driving is very serious, and DaniLeigh very well could have killed someone. Subsequently, Charlamagne Tha God made her his Donkey of the Day. However, Jess Hilarious used the segment to make jokes and excuses for the songstress.

Jess Hilarious Upsets Fans

In the clip above, Hilarious claims that we need to think about the singer’s mental health. Moreover, she continuously made jokes in which she underplayed the entire thing. This consequently led to some very strong YouTube comments from people who were upset with the flippant attitude presented by the host. “I ain’t gona lie this was NOT the Donkey of the day to makes jokes on or excuses for. This issue is a lot more serious to some people then most ppl realize,” one person wrote. “The fact that Jess can make jokes this situation and make excuses is sick!” said another.

Many of the other comments shared similar, yet stronger sentiments. There is always a time and place for jokes, but this was definitely not one of them. Unfortunately, Jess Hilarious had to learn the hard way here. Let us know what you think of the situation, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the music world. We will always be sure to keep you informed on the latest news and events.

DJ Envy Responds To Gunplay & GoFundMe Comments

DJ Envy has responded to Gunplay calling him out on social media over comments he made about the rapper having a GoFundMe. Envy had brought it up while discussing his feud with Rick Ross, claiming that Ross didn’t contribute to the campaign. Gunplay demanded a public apology afterward. Envy addressed the incident during an episode of The Breakfast Club on Tuesday morning.

“I didn’t mention his wife and child, and I didn’t put the information about his GoFundMe, he did. I didn’t let that cat out the bag,” Envy said. “He talked about it. It was something that was a story that was reported. So, I didn’t talk about any of that.”

Envy continued: “When Gunplay called me, because he’s a friend to the room and he was upset at first, you can tell he was upset at first, I’m like ‘he’s a friend’ so like speaking to any friend who’s upset, so I let him go. I let him vent and afterwards we had a discussion and said ‘If your wife was offended, that wasn’t my intent and I apologize.’”

Gunplay originally posted a video of a phone call with Envy on social media, earlier this week. “What I had to do with anything, man? And my wife posting a GoFundMe?” Gunplay asked Envy. “My baby was sick. She had a heart defect. That has nothing to do with cars. You know I’ll slap the sh*t out you.”

DJ Envy Responds To Gunplay

Envy and Rick Ross have been feuding for weeks as they both host car shows. Ross had initially called out Envy during an appearance on Drink Champs, noting that the two aren’t on the same level. Envy fired back by bringing up Ross’ past experience as a correctional officer, even wearing an entire uniform on The Breakfast Club to troll the rapper.

Charlamagne Reflects On Getting Yelled At By Diddy

VladTV recently interviewed Charlamagne Tha God, and The Breakfast Club host opened up about the time Diddy gave him an earful for his on-air comments. The comments made by Charlamagne surrounded the promotion of Diddy’s 2010 album with Dirty Money, Last Train to Paris. “I’ll never forget Diddy yelling and screaming at me,” he shared, “This is before I recognized, truly, the power that the platform was commanding.”

Charlamagne continued, “This is when he dropped the Last Train to Paris album and I gave him ‘Donkey of the Day’ for that album. I’m like, ‘Yo, this shit is shake weight music.’ Once again, being an asshole because people loved that album! But I’m just f*cking with him.” The host revealed, “He came to the station hot. Like, ‘Go out the back door, Charlamagne’ type shit.” He went on to say, “I remember when I finally had a conversation with Diddy about it … Shawn Prez put us on the phone. And Diddy was like, ‘Bro, you can’t do that on my first week.’”

Charlamagne went on to claim Diddy said, “‘I’m a big boy, I can take criticism of the music, but not on my first week when I’m tryna get these first week numbers up. You come out and you shit on my project like this, people might not go check for the project.’ And that was one of the first times I was like, ‘Oh shit, he’s right, you know?’”

In the interview, Charlamagne also discussed the recent departure of his fellow Breakfast Club host, Angela Yee. “She left Breakfast Club because she got the opportunity to do her own nationally syndicated show,” he revealed. “Way Up With Angela Yee is a nationally syndicated show it comes on 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. right after The Breakfast Club, and I think that would be hard for anybody to pass up … Angela Yee never got the opportunity to host her own show on terrestrial radio,” the host explained.

Last week, Envy alleged that Ross Airbnbs his house. “Let’s be honest right. Rick Ross. You Airbnb your home!” Envy said. “The house that you sleep in! Eddie Murphy slept in your bed. They shot Coming to America and made Eddie Murphy milk your bed.” He continued: “I’m not that guy that’s going to charge somebody $500 to get in because I couldn’t sleep with myself. I’m doing it with Paper Route which is the company that Young Dolph owns you idiot! Yeah you have 200, 300 cars. Yeah you’re absolutely right [but] most of them are trash. They’re garbage. If you go through mine, they’re quality. Think about it. I haven’t said anything. You started with Drink Champs… that just tells me your ticket sales are not doing well.”

Charlamagne Tha God Gets Real About Angela Yee Departure

Charlamagne Tha God has been a legend of the radio space for a long time. Overall, most fans know him for his work on The Breakfast Club. However, he has worked in radio with the likes of Wendy Williams, and he even has his own podcasts. Of course, The Breakfast Club remains a vital part of hip-hop culture. It used to consist of Charlamagne, DJ Envy, and Angela Yee. Now, however, Angela Yee is no longer on the shoe. She announced her departure back in August of last year, which subsequently led to rumors of drama behind the scenes.

Although, as Yee has stated time and time again, this was a move that just made sense for her career. Now, she hosts her very own show, and fans continue to tune in. As for Charlamagne Tha God, he got to speak about Yee’s departure during an interview with DJ Vlad. Overall, Charlamagne was quite honest about what went down. Based on his explanation, it had nothing to do with their dynamic. Instead, it was simply due to Angela Yee wanting to enjoy a new opportunity on her own.

Charlamagne Tha God Speaks

“I think people want it to be something salacious, but it’s not,” Charlamagne Tha God explained. “She left Breakfast Club because she got the opportunity to do her own nationally syndicated show. Way Up With Angela Yee is a nationally syndicated show it comes on 10 am to 2pm right after The Breakfast Club, and I think that would be hard for anybody to pass up … Angela Yee never got the opportunity to host her own show on terrestrial radio.”

When shows break up, these rumors typically follow. Although it is not always fair, it is most certainly the nature of the business. Either way, it is good to see Charlamagne sticking up for his former co-host. You can clearly tell that there is still a lot of love there. Charlamagne Isn’t A Fan Of Timbaland Using A.I. Biggie

Charlamagne recently took issue with Timbaland’s use of A.I. technology to get a feature from the late Notorious B.I.G. for a new song. The Breakfast Club host says that the technology takes the “soul” out of the music. Timbaland teased the track on Instagram, last week.

“Sonically, it sounds cool but it lacks soul. There’s no spirit to it,” Charlamagne said. “There’s just nothing to it. That’s why I don’t like that.” He further argued, “I just feel like there’s no spirit to this music. Even when they do it with artists who are still with us, it don’t feel like there’s no spirit to it. There’s no soul to it so it definitely sounds spiritless when it’s people who are no longer with us.”

Fans in the comments section of The Hip-Hop Wolf’s reposting of the clip were mostly in agreement with Charlamagne. “Will that let these rappers rest in peace. I hear big saying its wack,” one wrote. Another compared the vocals to Rick Ross: “Honestly that sounds like Ross it don’t sound like Biggie at all.” One more brought up Drake’s previous use of Aaliyah’s vocals. “This is expected from a new young producer, not a legendary producer that was around when Big was alive.,” they wrote. “No integrity, he can’t do this then get mad when Drake used Aaliyah’s vocals am i missing something?”

Timbaland explained his decision to use the A.I. Biggie vocals in a post on Instagram, last week. “We know that it’s a lot of talk about AI, and we know how the feelings of violating certain things… But let me tell you something, I got a solution, we’re working on it. It’s gonna be beneficial to everybody,” he argued. “But, in the meantime, I gotta share something I’ve been working on because I always wanted to do this and I never got a chance to. I always wanted to work with Big, and I never got a chance to, until today! It came out right! Play!”
