Snoop Dogg Teases Music Reunion With Dr. Dre: ‘Music Comin Summer 23'

Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg are on of the greatest tandems in Hip-Hop history. The two who united for work on classic albums like The Chronic and Doggystyle are looking to recapture that magic and on the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop.

Snoop hit Instagram to continue to tease the forthcoming album, Missionary, writing, “Dynamic. Duo. Music comin summer 23”

If the album indeed comes this summer, it aligns with Snoop’s induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. The next class features Black music icons Snoop Dogg, Sade Adu, and Teddy Riley. The 52nd annual induction and awards gala is set for Thursday, June 15, at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.

Hearing the news, Snoop Dogg hit Instagram and celebrated the achievement in a video.

“Damn, Songwriters Hall of Fame? That’s big,” Snoop opened. “And just to think, I’ve been telling people for the past seven years, ‘Who you wanna do a song with, Snoop?’ I’d always say, Sade. And now we going to the Songwriters Hall of Fame on the same day. And not only that, Teddy Riley? New Jack Swing? I’m going in with him? Man, God is good. Just a little kid from the East side of Long Beach with a big ass dream.”

In addition to Sade, Snoop and Riley, Gloria Estefan, Glen Ballard, and Liz Rose are among the songwriters that will be included.

According to Billboard, this will be the fifth induction ceremony in which a songwriter affiliated with rap or hip-hop will be recognized. Snoop joins Jay-Z (2017), Jermaine Dupri (2018), Missy Elliott (2019), and The Neptunes’ Chad Hugo and Pharrell Williams (2022).

“The music industry does not exist without songwriters delivering great songs first,” SHOF chairman Nile Rodgers (a 2016 SHOF inductee) said in a statement. “Without them there is no recorded music, no concert business, no merch … nothing, it all starts with the song and the songwriter.”

Teddy Riley Says Soulja Boy Owes Daughter Nia Riley An Apology: “We Had An Altercation”

Their relationship has long been over, but it isn’t exactly out of mind. Soulja Boy and Nia Riley’s romance was introduced on a global scale years ago when they appeared on Love & Hip Hop Hollywood together, but quickly, their romance unraveled for a television audience. Soulja was said to have been cheating on his girlfriend, but more recently, Nia alleged that while they were together, the rapper abused her.

Nia claimed there was a time when he hit her while pregnant and shared a story of Soulja pointing a gun at her. Her father, Teddy Riley, caught up with VladTV and was asked about the accusations.

“Well, let me say this: Soulja Boy knows who I am and he knows I’m deep. He knows I’m very deep,” said the music icon. “We had an altercation, I was called a lot of names, and I got an apology. I’m lookin’ for an apology for what he’s done to my daughter. I’m lookin’ for that. As a man, I’m lookin’ for that and I think she deserves it.”

He continued: “‘Cause here’s someone who really stuck behind him, did [Love & Hip Hop Hollywood] for him, ’cause she thought this was gonna happen and it’s gonna be them. I watched them live together and I ain’t know all that was goin’ on.”

Things took a turn on Twitter as Vlad and Soulja had a brief exchange. Something prompted the media giant to write: “Hey @souljaboy, VladTV was already hot when we gave YOU your biggest interview. And unlike that SayCheese screenshot you showed, you don’t even have a top 20 interview on [VladTV’s YouTube]. Stop having weekly temper tantrums about me & sit down with me in person anytime.”

Soulja retweeted the message and added, “I made you, Vladimir.”

Teddy Riley takes to Jada Pinkett-Smith’s “Red Table” to discuss his co-parenting relationship with the mother of his youngest son, Mykal Theo Riley.

The New Jack Swing innovator tells Pinkett-Smith and her co-hosts, daughter Willow Smith and mother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, that the two configured a contract that he “lived by.”

Riley claims he “did not read” a portion of the agreement that states who gets physical custody of their son. In addition, he opens up about the child support portion of the agreement that states a specific amount that was expected to be split in “half” once his son started first grade.

“So she doesn’t want you to see Mycal because of child support?” asked Pinkett.

“Exactly,” responded Riley.

Check out the exclusive clip here.

The Grammy-winning producer took to Instagram in July to express initial details of his custody battle.

“It’s my baby son’s birthday today and I haven’t seen him in three years plus,” Riley started. “I’ve done everything that I’m supposed to do as a father financially & mentally but because this woman have process evil way, I have to deal with the corrupted government ATL system just to see my son but that will all change.”
