Gap Honors Stephen “tWitch” Boss With Latest Campaign

The late Stephen “tWitch” Boss stars in the newest campaign from Gap. The limited-edition capsule collection is a collaboration between Gap and Haitian-owned menswear brand The Brooklyn Circus.

“The Brooklyn Circus and Gap share in the heartbreaking loss of beloved icon Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, who was a longtime supporter of the [Brooklyn Circus] community, [founder and creative director] Ouigi [Theodore’s] work and a core part of this campaign thanks to his personal friendship with Ouigi Theodore,” a press release for the campaign reads.

Gap will also be making a donation to Vibrant Emotional Health in Boss’ honor.

Allison Holker, Boss’ wife, also shared a statement following the release of official campaign images. She writes: “When Stephen and I first saw his images from the campaign, it brought tears to our eyes. He was so moved by how they captured his true essence, and he was excited for the world to see them.”

Boss’ mother, Connie Boss Alexander, later admitted on her Instagram Story that she went to call her son after seeing the campaign.

“I almost called you to say son look at you in this ad!” she wrote. “Then I remembered.”

Boss died by suicide, last month, at the age of 40. He and Holker had just celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary three days prior. He is survived by his wife, and their three children: Weslie, 14, Maddox, 6, and Zaia, 3

Boss was perhaps best known for his work as the former DJ on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. He also competed on So You Think You Can Dance.

The New Gap x The Brooklyn Circus Campaign Honors the Late tWitch

Gap’s latest campaign pays tribute to Stephen “tWitch” Boss, passed away by suicide at 40 years old on December 13. Prior to his sudden passing, the adored “Ellen DeGeneres Show” DJ and dancer, posed in front of the camera for The Gap’s upcoming collaboration with Haitian-owned menswear label The Brooklyn Circus.

Boss began his career alongside Degeneres as a guest DJ for her talk show in 2014 and  became a co-executive producer in 2020. The  Gap × The Brooklyn Circus campaign features other stars such as “Pose” actress Indya Moore, “Euphoria” star Javon Walton and model and activist Bethann Hardison.

This collaboration “explores the concepts of individuality, movement and modern prep — blending academia, music and Black culture and street style from the 1960s through today,” said the press release. 

Over the last 50 years, The Gap has expanded into seven different brands, especially loved by active consumers of different crafts. Signature styles from both brands are represented, like the cuffed chinos and varsity jacket modeled by Boss in the campaign.

Gap further announced that it will support the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by donating to Vibrant Emotional health in Boss’ honor. This organization provides free and confidential around-the-clock emotional support and care to those in need.

The line will be released on both brands’ websites Tuesday and will also be available to shop at select Gap stores as well as The Brooklyn Circus’ Boreum Hill flagship location.

Stephen “tWitch” Boss’ Funeral Held In Los Angeles

Nearly a month after Stephen “tWitch” Boss lost his life by suicide, the famed DJ and dancer was laid to rest in Los Angeles on Wednesday afternoon.

Described by the Los Angeles Times as an “intimate” ceremony, the service was reportedly attended by tWitch’s family. A memorial is set to come later, allowing more of his friends and family to honor his memory.

Last December, tWitch passed away following a reported self-inflicted gunshot wound. Known for being a former contestant on So You Think You Can Dance and an executive producer on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the 40-year-old left behind his wife, Allison Holker, and their three children.

Sharing a selfie of the two following her husband’s death, Holker wrote on Instagram last month, “My ONE and ONLY Oh how my heart aches. We miss you so much.”

tWitch’s shocking death came just days after the couple celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary, with Holker previously sharing intimate photos from their wedding day on social media.

Responding to the news on her social media, Ellen DeGeneres also shared in a tribute post last December, “Right now what I want to do is remember all the love and laughter I had with tWitch. He brought so much joy to my life. I know he brought joy to yours too. I’m going to be sharing some of my favorite moments with him. If you want to you can also share yours.”

Ellen Degeneres shared an emotional video message regarding the death of Stephen “tWitch” Boss on Instagram, Friday. In the post, Degeneres admitted that the last several days have been hard on her following her former colleague’s passing.

“I just wanted to say the past 11 days have been really tough for everyone. Everyone is in pain and trying to make sense of it, and we’ll never make sense of it,” Degeneres said. She also captioned the post with a red heart emoji.

From there, Degeneres added: “I know it seems hard, it seems impossible, but that’s how we honor him. And hug each other, and tell each other we love each other, and let people know we’re there for them and check in on people.”

tWitch, who worked on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, died by suicide on December 14 at the age of 40. He was married to Allison Holker, with whom he shares three children: Zaia, 3, Maddox, 6, and Weslie, 14.

In addition to his work on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Boss rose to fame on the show, So You Think You Can Dance. He was also a semifinalist on MTV’s The Wade Robson Project, back in 2003. He’s additionally appeared in both the Step Up movie franchise as well as Magic Mike XXL.

Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss’ Widow: There Was No Fight Before He Left Home

Allison Holker, the widow of Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, told police they did not fight before he left home on Monday morning.

A housekeeper discovered Stephen dead in a pool of blood after he failed to check out of his hotel Tuesday. The 40-year-old died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

The dancer/producer was best known as Ellen DeGeneres‘ longtime DJ on So You Think You Can Dance.

Allison, 34, insisted they did not fight or argue before he left home Monday morning, just three days after celebrating their wedding anniversary.

Allison told cops he didn’t return her phone calls which was extremely out of character.

Police accompanied Allison back to the couple’s $4 million mansion to search for any clues about his disappearance. Then they received a 911 call from a nearby motel, where a housekeeper had discovered Stephen’s body.

The couple were parents to daughter Zaia, 3, son Maddox, 6, and Allison’s daughter Weslie Fowler, 14, from a prior relationship. 
In a sit-down interview with Jennifer Hudson last month, the couple discussed having more children. 

Stephen and Allison, both professional dancers, met on the set of “So You Think You Can Dance.” The two began dating and eventually married. He adopted Allison’s daughter Weslie, center, as his own. The couple celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary just three days before he took his own life in a $107-a-night room at the Oak Tree Inn, a motel less than a mile from his home.

The motel manager, who asked to be identified by his first name, Rakesh, told DailyMail.com: “He went into his room, and he never came out. At 11.15 a.m. on Tuesday, the maid opened the door to check on the room. There was his stuff in there but no one there. She checked the bathroom, and there was blood everywhere.”

He added:

“She was very scared. This is the first time anything like that has happened here. We called 911, they told us to check his pulse but there was nothing. The paramedics and the police came, and they said he was dead. Maybe he did it during the day on Monday. It’s a busy, loud road outside here, it’s possible nobody heard it because of that.”

Stephen “tWitch” Boss Allegedly Left Suicide Note

The world continues to react to the tragic passing of Stephen “tWitch” Boss.

A new report from TMZ indicates that a suicide note was found at the scene of his death.

Law enforcement has allegedly told the tabloid site that the note contains “vague references to issues he had been dealing with.”

On Wednesday (December 14), news began circulating about his death by suicide. The entertainer was only 40 years old.

Boss’ wife, Allison Holker, allegedly rushed to a police station after her husband left the house without his car. His phone was also turned off. She says these circumstances were unusual for the So You Think You Can Dance alumni.

Additionally, sources are telling The New York Post that widespread rumors surrounding the reasoning for his suicide are false.

In a since-deleted Instagram post on Thursday (December 15), actor Columbus Short confusingly shared a theory surrounding the freestyle hip-hop dancer’s death.

“You guys don’t know what people are going through. You know, people made investments, people do a lot of things.. this is just a theory,” he says in the video.

“What if you invested in something that took your whole life savings, possibly? It gets rough,” Short continues afterwards.

In other news, Boss’ grandfather, Teddy, is speaking out about his last words with his grandson.

In their final conversation before his tragic passing, the former DJ for The Ellen DeGeneres Show told his grandpa how much he loved him.

“Every word has meaning. His last words to me were a simple text that says, ‘I love you Dad-Dad.’ Our question is why? Where did it come from?” Teddy told The Daily Mail.

Stephen “tWitch” Boss, who is the DJ for The Ellen DeGeneres Show, has died at the age of 40. His wife, Allison Holker Boss, confirmed the news in a statement provided to People on Wednesday.

Holker Boss wrote: “Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.”

“Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you,” Holker concluded.

TMZ reports that Boss’ death appears to be a suicide. Holker had reportedly been worried about his whereabouts after noting he left home without his car. Paramedics later found him dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound at a hotel in L.A.
