Doja Cat Gives SZA’s ‘Kill Bill’ A Terrifying Update For The Viral Revenge Hit’s Remix

SZA and Doja Cat have another hit on their hands. Tonight (April 14), the two have shared a remix to SZA’s viral hit, “Kill Bill,” from her second album, SOS.

On the standout track from the album, SZA fantasizes about exacting revenge on an ex of hers. The song has become one of SZA’s biggest hits, as it has been certified triple platinum and has reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The remix features a new verse by Doja, who details exactly how she’s healing following a breakup.

“I’m in a funk, so I bought a bouquet of roses / And cut them up at your doorstep / Your new neighborhood is gorgeous,” raps Doja on the song’s opening verse, right before she details an encounter with her ex’s new woman.

This marks the second official collaboration between SZA and Doja Cat, their first being “Kiss Me More,” the lead single from Doja’s third album, Planet Her. Though, the two did link up for a remix of “Shirt,” also on SZA’s SOS, which was never officially released.

It’s likely that this new remix of “Kill Bill” (and perhaps, maybe the “Shirt” remix) will appear on the upcoming deluxe version of SOS. Last month, SZA teased an extended version of her second album which will feature 10 more songs.

In the meantime, you can listen to the “Kill Bill” remix above.

Frank Ocean Spotted At SZA’s Tour

Three of R&B’s most acclaimed and beloved artists just had an insanely rare crossover moment. Frank Ocean was recently spotted at SZA’s tour stop in Inglewood, California, and a video surfaced of him watching Omar Apollo perform. Of course, such an appearance is incredibly uncommon, as the Blonde singer is known most for his unknown movements. In fact, many on social media started speculating that Frank and Omar are back together. As some may remember, they’ve been a rumored couple for a while now. Regardless, it’s exciting to see the “Ivy” star back in the public eye, especially ahead of some potentially big moves.

Moreover, people are incredibly excited for his upcoming headlining spot at Coachella, which some fans still can’t believe. Given that this isn’t the first teased appearance from the 35-year-old at the festival, many are skeptical. Also, there’s the added factor of no full-length projects since 2016. Only a couple of singles held die-hards over. Still, perhaps this is a sign that we’ll see more of him in the future, although it’s doubtful that he misses the attention.

Frank Ocean Pops Up At SZA Tour

There’s such a buzz around the Odd Future alum whenever his name pops up that people freaked out over an edited picture of him with long hair. Many immediately thought that he would come out of hiding debuting a new look. Instead, they realized they just sought confirmation bias when it was revealed to be fake. Even though he stays pretty offline, his impact and continuous influence on music goes beyond any public appearance. As one of the most simultaneously successful and low-key artists of our generation, even the world’s biggest superstars can’t hold a candle to his acclaim.

Despite all that praise, maybe hope for new music won’t be enough to keep fans from lashing out at him. After all, some of his extracurricular moves drew some controversy and pushback from hardcore fans and casuals alike. For example, his brand Homer released cock rings for $25,000. That got as clowned as it was criticized, but it means nothing in the face of a song like “Pyramids.” With that in mind, come back to HNHH for the latest on Frank Ocean, the little we get to see of him, and what his next move may be.

Lizzo Made A ‘Special’ Surprise Appearance At The Final Show Of SZA’s ‘SOS’ Tour

This past week, SZA’s SOS tour came to a close at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. After a successful run, the “Kill Bill” hitmaker had to go out with a bang.

Early on in the night, SZA was joined by Phoebe Bridgers, and the two performed their collaboration, “Ghost In The Machine.” Bridgers had previously made a surprise appearance at SZA’s New York City show at Madison Square Garden.

Toward the end of the night, Lizzo made a surprise appearance, and the two performed SZA’s remix of “Special,” the title track to Lizzo’s sophomore album.

This is perhaps a full-circle moment for the two collaborators and besties, as SZA made a surprise appearance during the final show of Lizzo’s Special tour last year, which is where the two revealed the “Special” remix.

On SOS, Lizzo and SZA collaborated on the rock-influenced “F2F,” on which, Lizzo co-wrote and contributed background vocals. In an interview with Rolling Stone’s Music Now podcast last December, SZA revealed that she and Lizzo recorded “five or six songs” during the SOS recording sessions. Perhaps some more of their collabs will appear on the upcoming SOS deluxe edition.

You can check out clips from the SZA concert above.

Lizzo is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Phoebe Bridgers Made A Suprise Appearance At SZA’s New York Concert To Perform ‘Ghost In The Machine’

SZA is pulling out all the stops on her SOS tour. Tonight (March 4), she performed the first of two New York City shows at Madison Square Garden. During her tour, a special guest made a surprise appearance on stage.

In a clip shared by The Hollywood Reporter, SZA brought out Phoebe Bridgers for a performance of “Ghost In The Machine” from SZA’s sophomore album, SOS. Surprising the audience, Bridgers performed her verse of their collab, alongside SZA.

Tonight marks the first time Bridgers and SZA have performed the song live together.

In an interview with NME, Bridgers revealed how the collaboration came together just days before SOS was supposed to drop.

“She just hit me up. She just sent me a DM, and then it all happened so fast,” said Bridgers. “I wasn’t really used to that in that pop world, because vinyl isn’t so much of a consideration until way later. It’s just like, ‘Do you want to be on this record? OK, it’s out next week.’ It was so recent, which I really like. I like that turnaround time. Personally, I sit on stuff for so long and it takes me years to make albums. I like seeing someone else’s world from that angle.”

“Snooze” Co-Writer Babyface Says He Has More Songs With SZA

In March 2021, SZA shocked her fanbase with a tweet regarding R&B legend Babyface. The record-breaking vocalist shared a text message inviting her to the studio with the celebrated musician, to which she happily obliged. We now get to get a chance to hear what came out of the session with “Snooze,” which he helped pen and co-produce. The track appears on SZA’s Billboard 200’s No. 1 SOS, where it’s been perched for ten weeks straight. Billboard also listed her as their 2023 Woman of the Year, which they honored her with during their Women in Music Awards yesterday (March 1).

In a new interview with Rap Radar, Babyface confirms there are still three collaborations in the chamber. ”There are still two songs,” he tells Elliot Wilson and B. Dot. “And there’s another song that exists—I won’t say the title-but I hope that she will finish it.” Though he refused to expound further, Babyface did mention a track entitled “Brianna’s Way” in the two-minute clip. Thorough research revealed no mention of the song online, and SZA has yet to comment on her musical endeavors with the 63-year-old songwriter. She did, however, allude to a possible collaboration with singer Miley Cyrus earlier this year.

Babyface Praises SZA And Alludes To Other Songs

Prior to the unreleased music news, Babyface revealed SZA was set to appear on his 2022 album Girls Night Out. The groove-heavy LP spotlights R&B’s leading ladies, including Ella Mai, Ari Lennox, and Muni Long. One can only assume SZA’s presence on the project would have been highly received, as well. “Maybe she’ll grace us with that one day, with a deluxe album or something,” Babyface adds.

Further along, Babyface goes on to praise the Grammy-winning songstress despite her musical insecurities. ”I don’t think she has any idea how incredible she is, and how talented she is,” he shares. He then calls SZA “one of the best” musicians he’s ever seen, an incredible compliment coming from a person who’s worked with Toni Braxton, Mary J. Bilge, and the late Whitney Houston. The “Kill Bill” songstress is currently on her 17-city SOS Tour alongside Omar Apollo, which ends later this month.

SOS earned 87,000 equivalent album units for the week, continuing to push past the already achieved platinum status.
