SZA And Justin Bieber Give ‘Snooze’ A Dreamy Acoustic Update

After dropping a cinematic visual in which the two play lovers, SZA and Justin Bieber have shared a new version of “Snooze.”

The new version is a stripped down acoustic imagining of the S.O.S. cut, on which SZA’s vocals remain the same as the ones on the original. Bieber comes in on the second verse, also singing the lyrics of SZA’s original.

Elsewhere, the two harmonize, giving the song a sweet, cozy touch.

Last year, SZA teased a “SZA summer” at the Met Gala, teasing that her album, S.O.S. would be out that summer. Though the album didn’t arrive untiI that December, it manifested into something great for the singer. The song “Kill Bill” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and has since been her most successful single to date. She earned another top 10 single with the original version of “Snooze,” which has since peaked at No. 7.

In addition to Bieber, the song’s accompanying video features a cameo from Benny Blanco, who is seen eating French fries off of SZA’s backside.

Tomorrow (September 15), SZA and Drake are dropping a new collaboration, “Slime You Out,” which will surely end this SZA summer on a high note.

SZA’s “SOS” Deluxe Coming This Fall With 7+ New Songs, Ice Spice & Saweetie Attend NYC Show

There was a lengthy span of time between the arrival of SZA’s debut album, Ctrl, and her sophomore effort, SOS. Nevertheless, the black-haired beauty ensured that the result was well worth the wait when it hit DSPs in late 2022. In the time since then, she’s mostly been busy touring her record-breaking LP and supporting other artists like Drake and Beyonce amid their ongoing cross-country ventures. On Friday (September 8), SZA took over the stage in New York City, where she had some seriously exciting surprises in store for her audience.

Perhaps the biggest news of the evening is the R&B songbird’s confirmation that her SOS will be receiving a deluxe edition before the year is up. While she didn’t provide an exact date, SZA did say that LANA will arrive sometime this fall. The 33-year-old also revealed that she’ll have 7-10 new songs for us, though it’s unclear if she plans to bring any guest features on board. The original cut of her last album found her connecting with Don Toliver, Phoebe Bridgers, and frequent collaborator (as well as rumoured lover) Travis Scott.

SZA’s Salacious ‘Snooze’ Video Stars Justin Bieber, Benny Blanco, Woody McClain, And Young Mazino

SZA has been teasing her video for the SOS track “Snooze.” The anticipation is high considering her epic video for her hit “Kill Bill,” packed with action and melodrama. It even had a cameo from Vivica A. Fox, who appeared in the iconic film of the same title.

The “Snooze” video does not disappoint. It flashes through different scenes of her with an array of lovers, one of them being Justin Bieber. There’s also Woody McClain, Young Mazino, and Benny Blanco. There’s a lot of cuddling, and one lover even eats french fries off of her bottom. There are some fights, and Bieber smokes a lot of weed. At one point, she seduces a robot, which was previously teased in a clip.

About appearing in the “Kill Bill” video, Fox said, “When I got it, I was surprised, to be honest with you. Cause they called… [It] took them five days to finally decide that they were going to hire me, ’cause I think they wanted Uma Thurman.”

“But when you think about it, it’s a little bit more fitting for SZA and Vivica to be together because we’re both African American women, and when it came out, people just ran with it,” she continued. “They were like, ‘They’re going to make Kill Bill 3, finally.’ Because people have been waiting for Kill Bill 3 for such a long time and see my daughter get revenge on Uma.”

Will SZA Release A Video For ‘Snooze?’

Last December, SZA dropped her long-awaited SOS album, and she experienced unprecedented success from it well into 2023, enough that Uproxx included it on the list of “Best R&B Albums Of 2023 So Far.” In January, she dropped the “Kill Bill” video, and she embarked on her headlining North American tour throughout February and March. The chart-topper’s second North American leg is scheduled to kick off on September 20 in Miami, Florida, and just as she did earlier this year, her tour run will be preceded by a big-time drop.

On Wednesday, August 23, SZA confirmed that the video for “Snooze” is coming this Friday, August 25. This comes roughly two weeks after she posted two steamy Instagram videos billed as behind-the-scenes “Snooze” footage.

As of this writing, “Snooze” has charted for 36 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 — peaking at No. 10 — and 15 weeks on Billboard‘s Radio Songs chart with a No. 4 peak. The song also spent 36 weeks on the publication’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, peaking at No. 3.

Along with “Kill Bill,” SZA has also released a video for SOS tracks “Nobody Gets Me,” which made her “really f*cking sad,” and “Shirt,” a song that fans had wanted SZA to release for two-plus years. Lakeith Stanfield starred opposite SZA in the latter video.

SZA Explains Decision To Get A BBL: “I Treat My Butt Like A Purse”

SZA recently reflected on her decision to get a Brazilian butt lift during an interview with Elle. She had mentioned getting the operation during the intro track to her latest album, SOS. “That ass so fat, it look natural / It’s not,” she sings. The conversation arose during her talk with Elle while discussing her fashion sense.

“I hate trying on clothes,” she admitted to the outlet. “I don’t shop anywhere, I just wear whatever is free in my mail. I’m like, ‘Is it an extra large? Great.’ If I can feel like I’m under a blanket when I’m outside, that’s ideal.” From there, she added: “I treat my butt like a purse. It’s just there to enhance whatever else. And that’s why I paid for it, because it works all by itself.”

When asked specifically about the decision to get a Brazillian butt lift, she made sure to note that the choice was her’s alone. “I always wanted a really fat ass with less gym time,” she told Elle. “I didn’t succumb to industry pressure, I succumbed to my own eyes in the mirror and being like, No, I need some more ass.” As for the choice to reference it in her music, she added: “That’s some Jersey shit. You know what I’m saying? When I feel like I have too much to say and I don’t want to say it cute.”

SZA dropped SOS back in December 2022. At the time, it debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart and broke the record for the largest streaming week for an R&B album in the US. Afterward, it spent ten non-consecutive weeks atop the chart while also being the first R&B album to spend its first seven weeks atop the chart since Whitney Houston’s Whitney in 1987.

SZA Gets ‘Pissed Off’ About Something When She Listens To Her Albums

So far, SZA has a couple of albums to her name, 2017’s Ctrl and 2022’s SOS, and they’re both beloved. She has some EPs under her belt, too, but when SZA goes back and listens to her old work, there’s one element of them that doesn’t sit well with her.

On Twitter recently, SZA wrote, “I still listen to my albums and get pissed off at the mixes [face-palm emoji].”

A few minutes later, she also shared her favorite songs from SOS, tweeting, “snooze ,love language, kill bill ,nobody gets me ,ex pack ,blind ,good days ,gone girl, I hate u, F2F,low , seek and destroy , ghost , Sos , used. Personal picks.” She then added in subsequent tweets, “FORGIVELESS too,” and, “Open arms too.”

Meanwhile, “Kill Bill” recently reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time, making it SZA’s first No. 1 single. She took her time to reflect, eventually tweeting, “took me over a week to process cause I dreamt of this my entire career. didn’t feel real lol, still doesn’t. but I wanna say THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS. Every person, every fan base every ear that listened and pushed for me. Can’t believe we have a number 1 record.”

SZA Says This Pisses Her Off About Her Album

SZA has been having quite a time since the release of her sophomore album SOS. She’s been soaking up all the success of her tape reaching No.1 along with her single “Kill Bill.” Both have charted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100s. Furthermore, the TDE singer earned her No. 1s in 2022 next to Queen Bey who also received a No. 1 album with RENAISSANCE. Although SZA’s been enjoying the fruits of her labor and all of her success. She’s been vocal about her likes and dislikes about the album. Later she took to Twitter to air a few of her grievances.

On Twitter she tweeted out a few of her favorite songs from the project. “snooze, love language, kill bill, nobody gets me, ex pack, blind , good days , gone girl, I hate u, F2F, low , seek and destroy, ghost , Sos , used. Personal picks,” SZA tweeted. Not only that she also added one more song to her list of picks, “Forgiveless” featuring the late ODB. However, the “Gone Girl” singer also tweeted that there were some things that “pissed” her off about the new album.

SZA Can’t Stand This About Her Albums

Despite all her commercial success with both of her albums, SZA can’t stand the mixes. “I still listen to my albums and get pissed off at the mixes,” tweeted the singer. Now, when it comes to being critical of one’s work, SZA is among a large number of artists who criticize their past and current works. Even Kendrick Lamar cringes at his old music. Imagine being arguably one of the best rappers to touch a mic and cringe at a masterpiece like To Pimp A Butterfly?

Despite her dislike, CTRL was praised highly upon her release. Not only that the record catapulted the R&B star into stardom with an album that many would argue is a certified classic. SZA even refers to her earlier project Z and how all of her albums haven’t fully met her standards before being released. However, two out of the three tapes have placed her into the mainstream fold. Not only that, SOS has spent its 16-consecutive week on top of the charts. She broke Mary J Blige’s record of 15 weeks with her song, “Be Without You.” What do you think about the mixes on SZA’s albums? Let us know in the comments below! took to twitter to air her distaste for one aspect about her discography

SZA Shut Down Some Inaccurate Info About Her Deluxe ‘SOS’ Album That’s Been Circulating On Social Media

SZA excited fans with the highly anticipated release of her new album SOS in December. “Kill Bill” has since become a No. 1 hit. However, she’s already begun talking about a deluxe version, after a Billboard piece in February noted, “Once she releases the deluxe edition of SOS — which will feature 10 additional tracks and is coming soon — SZA says she’ll be done trying to convince herself that she deserves her flowers.”

Of course, fans of the singer can be quite impatient. In fact, they can be so impatient that a fake tracklist for the SOS deluxe is circulating and she had to address it in an Instagram Story.

“This is fake,” she wrote. “And that other leak is from Ctrl 6 years ago.”

In that Billboard interview, she discussed her goals with doing a deluxe version of the record. “After I do the deluxe, I’m hoping to be able to accept that this chapter is done,” SZA said. “I’m looking forward to actually feeling proud of myself and not just smiling and nodding at accolades but really feeling it internally and knowing that I’m good enough.”

In January, she also had to shut down theories that the license plate in her music video symbolized a release date of some sort: “The deluxe is not coming out in august lol it’s just a license plate,” she wrote on Twitter.
