RiTchie Of Injury Reserve Drops His Solo Debut Single “RiTchie Valens”

Since the unfortunate 2020 passing of Injury Reserve member Jordan “Stepa J” Grogg, Nathaniel Ritchie and Parker Corey have been working things out. According to Fader, the Arizona duo have been fine tuning their new approach to Injury Reserve. In an interview with the publication, Ritchie and Corey described it as a “gentle handoff.” They are now referred to as By Storm. All of that went down in August and since that time Ritchie has also decided to go through a bit of a renaissance himself. He switched up the stylization of his name to simply RiTchie.

The experimental rapper has also decided to begin a solo career in the process. How RiTchie is going about this is by dropping his debut single. It is named after one of the most famous artists of all time, Ritchie Valens. If you do not know who he is, Valens operated in the Chicano rock movement and tragically passed back on February 3, 1959. He is mostly known for his hit song “La Bamba.”

RiTchie first dropped a track on his streaming platforms back in July with Loraine James called “Deja Vu.” But this is his first solo release, and it is stylized as “RiTchie Valens.” He brings a zany energy to the track with his screeching but infectious “Riiiittchhieee” vocal lines. Hopefully, he more coming soon, because this one is a lot of fun.

While BLP KOSHER might turn people off on the surface, we encourage you to give him a chance. The Broward County, Florida rapper has been blowing up over the past several months or so. The reason for that is fairly clear; this guy is a pure entertainer. KOSHER’s personality is colorful and downright hilarious. He possesses the ability to make the oddest similies make sense somehow better than most rappers today. This is why we are happy to talk about his newest single “Virgin Ears.”

This is the second single from his next endeavor called Scarecrow. That is the rumored title for BLP KOSHER’s third tape. It would follow up his 2023 breakout release Bars Mitzvah which features songs like “Special K” and “The Nac 3.” Just a little while back we covered his first single of 2024 “Dreidel Bop.”

“Virgin Ears” is another trap-flavored banger with resonant piano keys and heavy kick drums. While the beat is not anything out of his wheelhouse, the bars are again the main draw. The chorus has some particularly interesting references to Disney shows and candy. BLP’s verses are also packed with some creative lines. “I’m at your Adam’s apple, you were talking to the snake / Them boys sweet, they talk to pigs, that cracka Honey Baked Ham / I’m screaming “Beautiful morning,” but no Father, Don’t Stretch My Hands.”

Beyonce Hints At The New Direction For “ACT II” With “16 CARRIAGES” & TEXAS HOLD ‘EM”

Beyonce is a living legend and a masterful businesswoman. Amid all the hype surrounding Super Bowl LVIII, she teased some new music in a pair of commercials. One of them was a hilarious Verizon collaboration, with Beyonce trying to break the internet by trying to pull off crazy stunts. At the end of the advertisement, she said, “Drop the new music.” Somewhat separate from that ad, Queen Bey previewed one of her two new singles “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM.” This is going to be a part of ACT II.

At the end of that commercial, she revealed the release date. It looks to be March 29 and based on both tracks, it seems we are transitioning. We are going from the undeniable grooves of house and dance to country. Beyonce did drop a single, “MY HOUSE,” back in December, but that appears to have no ties to ACT II based on its sound alone. But, how do these songs sound?

Well, they sound pretty damn good. Beyonce has something cooking for ACT II and it may be one of her most ambitious projects. “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” is more of a hoedown song with animated background vocals and a thumping drum pattern. Contrastingly, “16 CARRIAGES” is a more serious vibe with a grand instrumental. It is a self-reflecting Beyonce who looks at all the difficulties and hard work she has put in to get to where she is now. She embraces her Texan roots in a very tasteful way. Grab your lassos and cowboy hats, RENAISSANCE ACT II is going to be a hell of a ride.

Tony Shhnow Drops Is Extremely Curious On “Tryna See”

2023 was a productive year for the underground rapper from California, Tony Shhnow. The mumble trap rapper likes to deliver carefree and sometimes dark trap bangers. In 2023, Tony put out 23 (!) singles and two projects. The first of the LP drops was a solo release called Love Streak which was 16 songs and just 37 minutes long. Shhnow fed his fans a second plate of the record four months later with a ChopNotSlop version. Then, in October right before Halloween, he teamed up with Robb Bank$ for I Can’t Feel My Face Too. That tape was even shorter, sitting at 14 tracks and 29 minutes. DRAM was the only feature to be found on the tape.

2024 is already shaping up to be another year of massive proportions for Tony. On his Instagram, the 28-year-old revealed that another album or tape of sorts could be in the works. About one week ago, Tony Shhnow posted a picture of himself with the caption, “loading..” Then, a couple of days later, he posted another photo, saying, “mode.. #otw ”

Lil Skies Is Drowning In “THOUSANDS” Of Autotune Effects

Lil Skies is on the path to dropping a new mixtape very soon. The Chambersburg, Pennsylvania rapper, as well as his manager, announced on their social media by way of Instagram Stories. They did so on January 25 according to the Genius page. The title that Lil Skies has seemingly gone with is Out Your Body Music.

The release date we have at our disposal is March. Genius says that Skies will announce the actual day that it drops in the next couple of weeks. When the 25-year-old delivers the LP, it will be his first since 2021 with Unbothered. Lil Skies has been active since that point with single after single. However, not all of them have been well-received.

Stove God Cooks is one of those artists who needs to drop more often. He is on one of the more prolific record labels going right now, Griselda. The Syracuse MC has only been in the game since the start of the pandemic in 2020. However, his fellow rap members like Conway the Machine, Benny The Butcher, and Westside Gunn are always dropping.

Hopefully, 2024 will finally be the year Stove God Cooks shows off his full array of talents on a debut album. He does have a project under his belt, though. He worked alongside Roc Marciano to drop Reasonable Drought. In the last year or so, Stove God has been a part of two singles. Flau’jae Is Coming For The Throne On “First Person Shooter” Freestyle

Basketball and hip-hop go together like peanut butter and jelly. Both cultures complement each other so well and it is why a good deal of hoopers also rap on the side. What is really cool about it is that a fair number of them can actually spit. We have seen Damian Lillard build a successful side hustle with a handful of records to his credit. You also have others like Shaq, and Lonzo Ball to add to that list as well. However, there are not as many female players that pen bars. One who does and can forge a career is Flau’jae.

Flau’jae (Johnson) is currently attending Louisiana State University (LSU) and is a starting guard for the Tigers. She is having a great sophomore season. Flau’jae is averaging 13 points, and five assists on nearly 50% shooting for the 13th-best team in the country. While she is killing it on the basketball court, she is also setting the microphone on fire.

She has been putting out music since 2017 and over the past year or so, Flau’jae has been hitting her stride. In July 2023, she put out her debut project 4 My Fans with no features. While she does not have that collaboration yet, she did just drop a freestyle over his and Drake’s smash hit “First Person Shooter.” It is a much shorter version of the original, clocking in at the 1:47 mark. The 27-year-old has been in the game since 2022 only, but his presence has been felt amongst listeners. People appreciate his work and for good reason.
