RiTchie Delivers His Abstract Debut “Triple Digits [112]”

With the unfortunate passing of Injury Reserve talent Stepa J. Groggs back in 2020, the alternative trio was sadly split up. After some assuredly hard thinking and tough conversations, rapper RiTchie and producer Parker Corey decided to close that chapter of their musical careers in solidarity. That happened back in July of 2023 and the now duo is referred to as By Storm. With this new regime in place, it means new music. RiTchie has been hard at work with that task since last summer, and now we have his debut album Triple Digits [112].

RiTchie gave us our first of the release back in February with “RiTchie Valens.” Then, just about two weeks later, he would collaborate with the equally fun Amine for “Dizzy.” Finally, he would deliver one last look into in the album with the hallucinating and abstract track “Looping.” The latter adjective is exactly how we would describe this entire listening experience.

But it is very on brand with RiTchie and everything By Storm is about. That is unorthodox ideas, flows, beats, and all of the above. With all of these different soundscapes you would think a lot of hands would be all over this project. However, the opposite is true, as Triple Digits has a total of nine producers, including RiTchie and Parker, as well as just 10 writers. It might sound all over the place on the surface, but the album comes together seamlessly.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new album, Triple Digits [112], by RiTchie? What songs are you gravitating toward right now? Who had the strongest guest appearance on the record and why? Do you see him having a successful solo career after this? What is the best song on here? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. RiTchie Delivers Experimental “Looping” Single Ahead Of Debut LP

Former Injury Reserve now By Storm rapper RiTchie continues to embark on his solo career journey with “Looping.” This is now the third single for the Tempe, Arizona native’s debut album Triple Digits [112]. It slated for an April 5 release date, which is about three weeks away. Hip-hop fans were treated to RiTchie’s first-ever solo song of his career about one month ago. “RiTchie Valens” is one heck of a listening experience with auto-tuned background vocals that will transport you to another world. However, this type of unorthodox rapping is something that listeners have come to expect from him, as well as the Injury Reserve group. This was addressed by RiTchie on his Instagram, according to Stereogum.

He talked about how these expectations to deliver left field material were a little “intimidating and defeating” at times. However, RiTchie is continuing to grow more and more comfortable with each drop. “What started as a personal outlet to release these mental barriers, ended up with me having some fun music I felt comfortable, then confident, and now excited to put out there in the world while me and Parker continue to work on the first By Storm record.”

Listen To “Looping” By RiTchie

It is great to hear that from RiTchie because he will soon be taking Triple Digits [112] on a worldwide tour starting in early April. As we mentioned, “Looping” is the third taster from the album with “Dizzy” featuring Amine being the previous release. However, this latest offering may be the most out-there track of them all with a very loose structure that almost comes across as spoken word, rather than rapping. Be sure to check it out above.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “Looping,” by RiTchie? What is your favorite element of the song and why? Is this the strongest track so far to preview the debut? Does this get you excited for Lucas’ upcoming album Triple Digits [112]? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. RiTchie Of Injury Reserve Drops His Solo Debut Single “RiTchie Valens”

Since the unfortunate 2020 passing of Injury Reserve member Jordan “Stepa J” Grogg, Nathaniel Ritchie and Parker Corey have been working things out. According to Fader, the Arizona duo have been fine tuning their new approach to Injury Reserve. In an interview with the publication, Ritchie and Corey described it as a “gentle handoff.” They are now referred to as By Storm. All of that went down in August and since that time Ritchie has also decided to go through a bit of a renaissance himself. He switched up the stylization of his name to simply RiTchie.

The experimental rapper has also decided to begin a solo career in the process. How RiTchie is going about this is by dropping his debut single. It is named after one of the most famous artists of all time, Ritchie Valens. If you do not know who he is, Valens operated in the Chicano rock movement and tragically passed back on February 3, 1959. He is mostly known for his hit song “La Bamba.”

Listen To “RiTchie Valens” By RiTchie

RiTchie first dropped a track on his streaming platforms back in July with Loraine James called “Deja Vu.” But this is his first solo release, and it is stylized as “RiTchie Valens.” He brings a zany energy to the track with his screeching but infectious “Riiiittchhieee” vocal lines. Hopefully, he more coming soon, because this one is a lot of fun.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “RiTchie Valens,” by RiTchie? Is he the best Injury Reserve member, why or why not? Does he have what it takes to forge a successful solo career? Should he drop his debut album this year too, why or why not? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to tell us in the comments below. Additionally, keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding RiTchie and Injury Reserve. Finally, stay with us for the most informative song posts throughout the week.

Injury Reserve Share The Glitchy Video For ‘Superman That’ From Their Upcoming Album

Arizona rap group Injury Reserve returns this year with a new album, By the Time I Get to Phoenix, dropping September 15. Ahead of the release, the duo shares the trippy video for “Superman That,” an angst-ridden track over a glitchy, industrial music-inspired beat. It’s the second single from the project after “Knees,” and finds surviving vocalist Ritchie With a T swapping between pained crooning and woozy rapping.

By the Time I Get to Phoenix will be the first album released by Injury Reserve after the death of founding member Stepa J. Groggs, who passed away in June of 2020 at the age of just 32. Remaining members Ritchie and producer Parker Corey completed the album over the course of the past year and dedicated its upcoming release to their fallen member.

While the group has remained relatively low-key since Groggs’ death, they did appear on Portland rapper Aminé’s 2020 album Limbo on the song “Fetus,” which ponders fatherhood.

Watch the video for “Superman That” above.
