Snoop Dogg Enjoyed A Meteorologist Incorporating His Lyrics To A ‘Doggystyle’ Track Into His Forecast

Snoop Dogg is maybe Instagram’s foremost user. He has posted to his feed 13 times in the last 24 hours, so Monday’s (March 6) announcement that Snoop and Wiz Khalifa are co-headlining The High School Reunion Tour this summer already feels like old news.

But we can’t skip over a different post from Monday.

Adam Krueger is CW39 Houston’s Chief Meteorologist and often takes requests from his TikTok followers on which song lyrics he should try to sneak into his on-air forecasts. He was asked to incorporate a Snoop Dogg song, any song, and chose “Who Am I (What’s My Name)?” from Snoop’s 1993 debut, Doggystyle.

Krueger seamlessly squeezed in lyrics “From the depths of the sea, back to the block” and “follow me, follow me, follow me, follow me” — the latter was done by promoting his social media handles — before his FutureCast allowed him an opportunity to say, “Pretty soon, we’ll step through the fog, and we’ll creep through the smog, and we’ll be able to see a little bit of sun popping out this afternoon.”

“Then I step through the dog and I creep through the smog / ‘Cause I’m Snoop Doggy” is the actual line, but we’ll allow it. And to cap it off, Krueger outlined a potential cold front with, “It’s like that and as a matter of fact (Rat-tat-tat-tat).”

Snoop Dogg approved Krueger’s performance by reposting it to his Instagram with the caption, “Weather man on one 🎙👍🏿👊🏿🔥🐾💨💨.”

Krueger has since moved on to New Kids On The Block and requests from a local fourth-grade class. See those clips below.

Snoop Dogg Lands Deal To Release New Albums & Distribute Death Row Catalog

Snoop Dogg just struck a deal with former Apple executive Larry Jackson to release two new solo albums and distribute Death Row’s iconic catalog. Moreover, Jackson was Apple Music’s Global Creative Director, who’s gotten mentions from Kanye West, Drake, and many more. Recently, he started a new music company called gamma and partnered with a few other big names. In fact, gamma was behind the catalog’s availability on TikTok, following some removals from streaming services after years of shoddy artist payouts. Furthermore, Death Row’s discography contains classics like Snoop’s own Doggystyle, Dr. Dre’s The Chronic, and Tupac’s All Eyez On Me.

To elaborate, gamma also has backing from A24, Todd Boehly’s Eldridge, and Apple themselves. Also, they reportedly have $1 billion in capital. Billboard described the company as “a one-stop-shop media company that creates, distributes, and markets content, from music to podcasts to films, offering resources and guidance to artists who want to build their brands and expand beyond music.” After the Long Beach MC’s ownership of Death Row, this is certainly an unclear but exciting step nonetheless. In addition, Billboard reported that the longtime partnership will revert rights back to the rapper after they “work together to enrich the value of the IP.”

Snoop Dogg’s New Deal: New Albums, Death Row Distribution, And More

Other artists that jumped onto Jackson’s new venture include Usher and Rick Ross. Furthermore, gamma aims to rival TikTok as a hub for music discovery and to create generational wealth and uplift culture for Black artists, making sure they can retain rights to their work. “It made sense for two Black men to come together to change the face of the industry,” Snoop expressed to Bloomberg concerning the team-up. “I didn’t want to partner with a regular company because they respect me and fear me so much, they wouldn’t wanna give me ideas.”

Perhaps one of these new Snoop albums will be Missionary, his previously announced collab with Dr. Dre. However, more exciting and potentially earth-shaking news surrounded the launch of gamma. Reportedly, Larry Jackson also reached out to Frank Ocean about his new company, according to Bloomberg. However, he didn’t say they were working on a specific project, so it’s just another dash of hope for one of the industry’s most elusive yet sought-after voices. Regardless, stick around on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Snoop Dogg and this new deal.

Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa Headlining “High School Reunion” Summer Tour

Suge Knight Allegedly Spat In Lyor Cohen’s Face Over Snoop Dogg Bid

Suge Knight’s disdain for the East Coast apparently resulted in Lyor Cohen getting a loogie to the face. In a recent interview on the Boss Talk 101 podcast, former Death Row executive Reggie Wright Jr., recounted the time Def Jam tried to sign Snoop Dogg to the label. At the time, Island Def Jam Music Group recruited Lyor Cohen as co-president of the label and he tried to bring Snoop Dogg over to the label. However, first, he would have to go through Suge Knight.

Wright Jr. explained that Cohen paid a visit to Suge Knight in prison to negotiate a deal. Suge told Cohen that he would need to pay him $13M to sign Snoop to the label. Due to Columbia’s ownership of Def Jam, Lyor Cohen needed to run the number by the board. While Def Jam began to regain its footing, once again, thanks to Montell Jordan and Warren G, they were trying to flesh out their roster further. Jay-Z, Method Man, and Redman undoubtedly helped but the addition to Snoop was the next step to level up with the addition of a West Coast legend.

Suge Knight’s Response To Cohen

Wright Jr. said Def Jam was willing to enter a multi-million dollar deal to sign Snoop Dogg. However, they weren’t necessarily willing to cough up as much as Suge wanted. “He comes and offers Suge $7 million. ‘Tell Lyor the most that I can get for Snoop is $7 million.’ Suge never really liked the East Coasters or labels or whatever. And I’m like, ‘Okay, Lyor, yeah, we got a deal,’” Reggie Wright Jr. recalled in the interview.

Evidently, Suge wasn’t necessarily feeling the counteroffer. According to Wright Jr., he dished a repulsive response when he declined the $7M proposal. “Suge goes and tells Lyor, ‘No.’ Spits in Lyor face. Spits in his face, because of however the conversation went. At the prison. At San Luis Obispo,” Wright Jr. recalled. From there, Wright Jr. explained the moments leading up to Snoop Dogg inking a deal with No Limit Records following his tenure with Death Row. Check the full interview above.

Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa Announce “High School Reunion” Tour

Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa just announced the “High School Reunion” tour, which will reach cities across the U.S. and Canada. Moreover, artists Too $hort, Warren G, Berner, and DJ Drama will join the collaborators on the road as well. The Mac and Devin Go To High School just dropped new music together, and will hit 33 cities total. Furthermore, they’ll start with a visit to Vancouver on July 7th and continue their run through the end of August. Citi pre-sale tickets go live on Tuesday (March 7), with regular tickets dropping on Ticketmaster on March 10 at 9 a.m. local time.

The rap group will also hit plenty of major cities including Toronto, Brooklyn, Atlanta, Phenix, Sacramento, Dallas, St. Louis, and many more. Finally, they’ll wrap things up in Irvine, California, a state where they’ll have plenty of shows around the tour’s end. While many thought that the duo teased a sequel to their film collaborations, those rumors might just be about this tour. “I’m hittin the road on the High School Reunion Tour with @SnoopDogg, @TooShort, @regulator, @Berner415, and Special Guest @DJDrama!” Wiz tweeted. “Tickets on sale March 10th at 9am Local. Can’t wait to see y’all. #HighSchoolReunionTour.”

Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa’s Tour Announcement

Meanwhile, their previous reunion teases didn’t specify what exactly they’d be reuniting for. “High school reunion comin summer 23 @wizkhalifa,” Snoop captioned a pic of him and the “Black and Yellow” rapper. On his end, Wiz called him and Snoop “the new Cheech and Chong” in an IG post of his own. Also, it’s not the only live trek Khalifa’s looking forward to. Before that, he’ll embark on the “Good Trip Tour” for seven cities.

Furthermore, the tour will also feature Joey Bada$$, Smoke DZA, Berner and Chevy Woods. Although it’s centered in the Midwest, it’s still an exciting opportunity if you want to catch many skilled rappers at once. Beyond that, Wiz previously spoke glowingly on his relationship with Snoop. “Snoop is my homie, my homie, my mentor, my partner, my brother,” he stated to Build in 2018. “It’s always good to have him involved and coaching me on,” adding that the most important thing he taught him was to be himself and not like anyone else. Let us know if you’re excited for the tour and return to HNHH for updates on Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa.

Snoop Dogg’s Pole Dancers Shock Australian Crowd, He Parties With Ed Sheeran & Russell Crowe Backstage

Snoop Dogg just shocked an Australian crowd of 20,000 with a lewd concert including pole dancers on Thursday (March 2). As the scantily-clad performers danced to his music, he performed some of his classics like “Gin And Juice” and “What’s My Name?” Moreover, he also brought out an ape-mask-wearing performer carrying an oversized blunt prop to throw money onstage. Overall, it sounds like quite the display of debauchery and campiness that we’ve come to expect from the Cali legend. It might’ve been shocking for many, but the crowd overall loved his performance, screaming and singing along on his “I Wanna Thank Me” tour.

Furthermore, Snoop faced accusations of groping one of his backup dancers during his Monday night Perth show. However, it seems like that referred to people concerned with how he touched them while on stage, with no further wrongdoing reported. Still, a testimony from another dancer painted the rapper’s energy in a more positive light. “It’s just having fun and entertaining the crowd,” dancer Nicole remarked to a radio show. “He’s the coolest person, super laid back and he just wants to entertain the people like we all do.”

Also, the 51-year-old hung out with Ed Sheeran and Russell Crowe backstage at his Melbourne show on Saturday (March 4). Of course, many pointed out some jars and rolled cigarettes among them, pointing to some chill celebration. Still, it was a bizarre sight as a hip-hop legend, one of the biggest artists right now, and an acclaimed actor kicked back. In addition, it seems like Snoop gifted both celebrities with a Death Row chain to commemorate the occasion.

Meanwhile, the Doggpound head honcho will make a return to TV alongside his longtime friend and collaborator Dr. Dre. Moreover, DJ Pooh confirmed a reboot of their film The Wash (which he directed) as a TV series. For those unaware, this was a star-studded 2001 film for hip-hop and could make for a fun, nostalgic revisiting. Given their chemistry and decades of experience working together, it should be a treat to see even if the end result isn’t revolutionary. Regardless, check him out with Sheeran and Crowe below and stick around on HNHH for the latest news from Snoop Dogg.

Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre’s Movie “The Wash” To Reboot As A TV Series

Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre have proven to be an iconic duo over the past three decades, and now they are uniting once again for the reboot of The Wash. Still starring both rappers, The Wash will now be conveyed as a television series. DJ Pooh, the director of the original 2001 film, took to Twitter to confirm the upcoming project. “It all comes out in ‘The Wash,’” he wrote, “series coming.” The post was accompanied by an orange pail and hanging car freshener, both which were branded with the movie’s logo.

The 53-year-old film director first hinted at the resurgence of The Wash in an Instagram post back in December. The photo showcases a scene featuring his character, Slim, along with Mr. Washington and Face (played by George Wallace and Sean Fonteno respectively). The original film also boasted a star-studded cast, including Eminem, Ludacris, and Shaq. Unsurprisingly, the soundtrack for the 2001 comedy amounted to a significant effort, with features from Truth Hurts and Xzbit among others, both of whom also made appearances in the film. Of course, both Snoop and Dre also added their flare to the movie’s music. The long-established partners collaborated on the songs “On the Boulevard” and “The Wash.”

“The Wash” Series Is Underway

Although it is unclear when the TV series will grace our screens, we can only hope it continues to capture the lives of Dee Loc and Sean (played by Snoop and Dre). In the original film, these two roommates take up a job at a car wash in order to pay rent. The endeavors of Dee Loc and Sean result in an action-packed comedy that continues to be referenced today. Most recently, Blxst and Bino Rideaux paid homage to the film in their music video for “Movie.”

Snoop and Dre will also be joining forces in their upcoming album, Missionary, which follows three decades after the release of Doggystyle. When the “Bad Decisions” rapper initially announced the new project on Instagram, he cited his partnership with Dre as a “dynamic duo.” Missionary is expected to drop this summer.
