On this date in 1992, Dr. Dre took the first step in his successful solo journey and released this single 31 years ago today

On April 9th, 1992, the premiere single from the silver screen blockbuster Deep Cover was released and it featured the former producer from “the world’s most dangerous group” and a fresh 21-year-old Crip from Long Beach known then only as “Snoop”.

After the very public and messy break up of N.W.A., Dr. Dre and his behind the boards prowess were invited to create the musical score of the dirty cop flick starring Larry Fishburne. He brought along one of his little brother Warren G’s homies and the rest was history. The song became a hit and the track continues to be recognized as one of the best-crafted tracks in Hip Hop history. Fat Joe and the late Big Pun even created a classic remix of the joint that featured Dre and Snoop in the video entitled “Twinz”(Deep Cover ’98).

Salute to Dre and Snoop for this timeless gem and look forward to another one from them in another 29 years! Peace!

Snoop Dogg Posts Brutal Meme After Lakers Loss

It’s no secret that Snoop Dogg loves the LA Lakers. A native of Long Beach, the Lakers have been in his blood since childhood. Snoop even went as far as to imagine a possible NBA career for himself in his 1999 hit Hoop Dreams. Despite a brief allegiance swap to the Warriors in 2007, Snoop lives and dies by the purple and gold. Snoop has been a regular fixture at Lakers home games since 2009 and even owned a Lakers-themed lowrider.

However, it has been a tough task being a Lakers fan in recent years. This season is a perfect example, with the Lakers failing to post a .500 record until their 74th game of the year. Add in the injuries to AD and LeBron, and there isn’t a whole lot for fans to cheer about. For Snoop, things came to a head after the Lakers fell 125-118 against the Clippers on Wednesday. It was a crucial matchup, as the Lakers looked to leapfrog the Clippers and move out of the Play-In tournament. The loss means that the Lakers’ fate, with two games remaining, is out of the team’s hands.

Snoop Doesn’t Hold Back On Roasting Lakers

In a scathing Instagram post, Snoop revealed that he hadn’t been to a Lakers game in “2 years” and lambasted the Lakers’ dismal 0-11 run against the Clippers in recent matchups. Snoop warned the Lakers to “get this fixed” before he “go bad on y’all on first take with Steven a”. The post has received over 81,000 likes but many Lakers fans ran to the team’s defense in the comments. However, the post was a truth bomb, surprising many about Snoop’s frustrations with his beloved team.

However, Snoop’s love for the Lakers isn’t completely gone. Furthermore, as a die-hard Lakers fan, Snoop couldn’t help but take a dig at their cross-town rivals. “Only thing can make this pain go away is a ring something the clippers know nothing about,” Snoop lamented in the post. With two games remaining in the regular season, the Lakers find themselves in the Western Conference Play-In Tournament. They sit one game behind both the LA Clippers and Golden State Warriors.

Snoop Dogg Resigns From FaZe Clan: Report

The running joke is that Snoop Dogg is completing side missions at this point in his career. Over 30+ years, the Long Beach native went from being middle America’s nightmare to Martha Stewart’s BFF. He has his hand in all sorts of bags, from music and television to youth sports and so much more. Snoop was also one of the first rappers to invest in the world of e-Sports. He joined Faze Clan’s board of directors last year, though it seems like the partnership has now ended.

According to Joe Pompliano, Snoop is no longer on board with Faze Clan. The Death Row owner reportedly resigned from his position as Faze’s stock drops. “He was given about $2 million in equity when he joined the company last year, but the stock is down 95% since, and his shares don’t vest for another year,” Pompliano reports. Following Snoop’s resignation, Faze Clan is reportedly trying to go private since their stock fell below a dollar.

Snoop Dogg Resigns From ESports Org

The news came after FaZe Clan filed its 2022 Q4 financial report on March 30th, which provided a major glimpse into the company’s success since going public. As part of the signing, Snoop reportedly told FaZe that he would be stepping down from his role on March 28th. However, FaZe noted that Snoop’s decision wasn’t due to “any disagreement with the company or any of its subsidiaries.” Though the rapper hasn’t publicly made any statements, it seems that the company’s financial plummet led to his resignation.

Snoop Dogg joined FaZe Clan around this time last year as a member of its talent network and board of directors. The impressive move led the rapper to help produce content and merchandise for the brand. In a statement to the Hollywood Reporter, Snoop explained that it was his son that introduced him to the world of eSports and Faze Clan. “My son Cordell [Broadus] put me up on FaZe Clan,” he said. “He’s really tapped into gaming, Web3, culture, etc. and knew this would be something that I’d be into.” What do you think is next for FaZe? Let us know in the comments below.

Rappers Who Have Their Own THC Brand

You’re on a plane and look over your left shoulder at the pilot. He’s passed out. His last words are, “Now we ready to roll.” Next thing you know, you’re in a car smoking a joint, and he miraculously comes back to life. This time saying, he’s “rolling joints bigger than King Kong’s fingers.” You, now higher than a giraffe’s neck, call your girl cause you “boutta catch another flight.” She shows up with a bottle of Belaire Rose. To your surprise, flight “444” has two first-class seats available. You jet off to the Islands. Rosé is pouring, and lollipop edibles are being passed. The vibes are strong. You hear voices in the distance, they’re calling you closer. Suddenly a bell rings, and your dream comes to an end. It’s the morning, and it’s time to smoke.

Leafs by Snoop

To no surprise, our first heavy weight on the THC rapper strain list is Uncle Snoop himself with his cannabis line, Leafs by Snoop, which was released in 2015. At the time, Snoop was the only rapper to have a strain in the public eye, as weed was not legal or decriminalized in most states. Leafs by Snoop originated in Denver and consists of eight flower strains, concentrates, and edibles. Indica dominants included Northern Lights and Bananas, while sativa dominants were named Lemon Pie and Tangerine Man. When speaking on his success at his launch party, Snoop proudly said, “Leafs By Snoop is truly the first mainstream cannabis brand in the world and proud to be a pioneer,” and “LBS is blazing a trail for the industry.”

Method Man’s ‘TICAL’ Brand Aims to Raise THC Awareness

Next is the How High actor and Wu-Tang Clan rapper Method Man, with his cannabis line, TICAL. The name translates into “taking into consideration all lives.”  His line provides three epic strains like Sweet Grease, Free MAC, and Orange Cookie Kush Flower. It has a mission to raise awareness of the long-lasting unethical imbalance in the criminal justice side of marijuana. Meth further aims to show that the justice system is unfair regarding laws against those who consume, carry, or sell weed.

Wiz Khalifa Launches ‘Khalifa Kush’

The “Young Wild and Free” rapper Wiz Khalifa is next on our list with his line, Khalifa Kush. Here is where you’ll find all the right tokes with his original strains Khalifa Mints and KK, which will likely have you higher than God himself. Khalifa can usually be seen chilling in his element with one rolled up. It’s inevitable that these cheeches will have you hanging from the trees like a baby koala bear. “Yeah, roll one, smoke one / When you live like this, you’re supposed to party,” says Wiz Khalifa on “Young, Wild, & Free” with Snoop Dogg and Bruno Mars.

Coi Leray Creates ‘Pink Zushi’

The “Blick Blick” Queen Coi Leray is also a standout on our rapper cannabis list. Her strain, Pink Zushi, was released in 2022 in collaboration with one of the most expensive eighths, The Ten Co. The Cookies strain is a cross between Gelato and Zkittlez. It is a light toke that will have you dancing through the night or laid up all cuddly in a smoke-filled cloud.

COLLINS AVE By Rick Ross

Ricky “Rozay” Ross the boss is next. Partnering with cannabis line Cookies, Ross meticulously created his THC brand, COLLINS AVE, around his personal profile with strains Pink Rozay and Lemon Pepper. The Teflon Don spoke on his line, saying, “I want to be a force within the cannabis industry and bring a superior quality product to the masses, particularly my people in the South.” Ross’ elite brand will also likely have you lifted, pouring champagne all over yourself like you just won a championship ring. That is until you realize you’re just on the couch vibin’ to “Aston Martin Music,” and really, what’s better than that?

Jay-Z’s ‘Monogram’ Brand Will Have You in An Empire State of Mind

Jay-Z, the founder of Roc Nation, launched his own cannabis line, Monogram. The mission is to mark a new chapter in the cannabis industry, defined by “dignity, care, and consistency.” Further, with a goal to “bring you the best,” Monogram will have you in an “Empire State of Mind” with its light, medium, and heavy strains. Named after significant years in Hov’s life, you’ll find strains called 01, 70, 88, and 96. Described as a “heady high that releases your mind,” next time you’re in the Stuy, light one up and enter the zone of eliteness; you’ll be glad you did.

Weezy’s ‘GKUA’ Strains Have Highest Natural THC Levels

Lil Wayne is next with the dank. His THC line, GKUA, is a premium buzz that will likely have you high for hours—maybe days. Wayne also offers a multitude of classics along with originals created by the rapper himself. You’ll find strains like Big Purp, Slime, Hollygrove, and G.O.A.T. This line combines the highest natural levels of THC. Upon making and testing his products, Wayne said, “I used to just want to get high. Now I smoke to get inspired.” He added, “With GKUA, I’m sharing a feeling that I love.” That said, if you consider yourself a cannabis connoisseur, GKUA seems like the right line of strains to choose from.

Fuel Up With 2Chainz’s ‘Gas Cannabis Co.’ Line

Dim the lights because ”It’s A Vibe” with rapper 2 Chainz’s line of Gas Cannabis Co. Teaming with Green Street Agency to bring forth a high that is affordable and luxurious, this line is full of gas. With his three exclusive lines, including Octane 87, Octane 89, and Octane 93, 2 Chainz wanted to allow consumers to afford his product. However, the expense increases as the gas gets headier. Described with the ability to “keep your engine running smoothly,” these strains have deep aromas and a heavy hit. They’ll also certainly have you in a cloud of smoke reminiscing on the first time you ever tried THC.

Quavo’s Premium ‘Birkin’ Line

The adlib King, Quavo, is next on our rapper cannabis list. His exclusive line, Birkins, is named after the bag that every woman wants. It’s expensive, it’s smooth, and it’s luxurious, just like this premium smoke. When asked about his strain, Quavo said, “We got tired of buying the girls Birkins, so we started smoking it, that’s all.” Next time you’re in the “Hotel Lobby” before hitting the club, get lifted with Quavo’s high-end strain. It’ll 100 percent have you feeling right.

Sean “Diddy” Combs Makes $185M THC Licensing Deal

Diddy Combs has also stepped up to become a licensed operator and seller of marijuana with a $185 million deal. With hopes to increase awareness of the injustices In the marijuana Industry, Combs said, “How do you lock up communities of people, break down their family structure, their futures, and then legalize it and make sure that those same people don’t get a chance to benefit or resurrect their lives from it?”  Further, there are many cannabis connoisseurs across the rap industry. Artists like the late Nipsey Hussle offers an Indica-dominant Marathon OG. Others like Ice Cube, Jim Jones, Tee Grizzley, YG, Kurput, Xzibit, Ty Dolla $ign, and Juicy J also have their line of strains.

STATES ACT Works to Legalize Weed State-by-State

Though growing in legality, only 21 out of 50 states allow the selling, usage, and carrying of marijuana. The decriminalization of weed varies its law in each state and allows you to carry various amounts without being charged for a class B felony. Currently, thousands of men and women are in prison for marijuana-related crimes. In 2020, it was estimated that 99 people per month were being incarcerated for dealings as such.

With the marijuana reform of the Tenth Amendment regarding drugs, the STATES ACT works to legalize weed from votes within each state. This is why not all states are legalized, as everywhere in the U.S. has not agreed, yet, to make the use of weed legal. However, with the awareness from artists and their release of premium strains, many people are not only being released from prison.

Snoop Dogg Saves Wrestlemania Segment After Shane McMahon Suffers In-Ring Injury

Snoop Dogg saved the day at Wrestlemania after WWE superstar and personality Shane McMahon seemingly blew out his legs during an impromptu match with The Miz.

Snoop appeared with The Miz in the ring, letting the wrestler and reality star know he would have a surprise match. After McMahon hit the ring and began the match, he appeared to suffer an injury that left him unable to perform. So what did Snoop do? He took over the match in a spur of genius, leveling The Miz with two punches and giving a People’s Elbow like The Rock to save the segment.

You can catch it all below.

Snoop Dogg At WrestleMania 39: Rapper Pins The Miz With A People’s Elbow

Snoop Dogg has surpassed half a century of life, but his rising age isn’t stopping him from continuing to make epic moves in the music industry and beyond. After throwing his hat in the ring to perform at Prince Charles’ upcoming coronation last week, the rapper is now showing off his strength in the ring at WrestleMania 39. On Sunday (April 2), the Doggfather made headlines by pinning WWE Superstar The Miz using a People’s Elbow that’s earning him plenty of praise online.

As TMZ reports, the 51-year-old was at SoFi Stadium when he brought out Shane McMahon as a surprise competitor for the Ohio-born fighter. The Miz and his contemporary entertained the crowd for a bit, but before long, Snoop intervened and set his sights on taking down Michael Mizanin. Ever the entertainer, the “Gin N Juice” hitmaker stood above his opponent to showboat for some time before dropping on him elbow first and ending the battle with a three count. “This is humiliating!!!” announcers watching on declared.

Snoop Dogg Shows off His Strength

The Miz was caught off guard by Snoop’s attack on him, sources say. He was “fully expecting a casual interaction” with the west coast legend. Instead, he fell victim – and not for the first time this weekend. The sold-out crowd was obviously overcome with surprise by what they witnessed. Still, the winner managed to keep a cool head and maintain his composure. While he certainly left with his head held high, the same isn’t true for the 42-year-old. He took on a beatdown at the hands of Geroge Kittle and Pat McAfee just hours before.

Plenty of wild antics have already been unfolding in Los Angeles, and there are still two more nights of WrestleMania 39 to go. Elsewhere at the event, Lil Uzi Vert dropped by to perform their “Just Wanna Rock” single, which they’ve also taken to The Tonight Show stage and Dreamville Festival over the past few days. Have you been tuning into the ongoing events? Let us know what you’re most looking forward to ahead of the grand finale in the comments, and check back later for more pop culture news updates.

Snoop Dogg Knocked Out The Miz After Shane McMahon Was Injured At WrestleMania 39

The Miz lost not one, but two consecutive impromptu matches across both nights at WrestleMania.

Saturday night, it was Pat McAfee making a surprise return, beating Miz around the ring, George Kittle getting involved, and McAfee winning. Sunday night, Shane McMahon was the one who made the shocking return to a huge pop as “Here Comes The Money” played out over the speakers at SoFi Stadium.

Snoop Dogg made the match official and McMahon hit Miz with a classic McMahon punching combo, pushing him back into the turnbuckle. McMahon danced around the ring and appeared to hurt his knee on a leapfrog over Miz. The match was abruptly halted as Miz tried to stall and the medical staff checked on McMahon.

Snoop recognized McMahon may not be able to continue and jumped in to save the day.

He laid out Miz with a right hand, then asked McMahon if he was good. When McMahon wasn’t able to continue, Snoop hit him with another straight shot, set up for the People’s Elbow, tossed his sunglasses into the crowd, and landed the elbow for the three count. This also may have been the first time someone who was never officially part of a match earned a pinfall to win it, a true WrestleMania first.

Snoop Dogg Offered Features In Exchange For Weed In Korea, Ben Baller Says

It’s a rare sighting to see Snoop Dogg without a blunt in his hand, even in places where cannabis is prohibited. The Death Row owner smoked inside the White House during Barack Obama’s time as president. 50 Cent previously suggested that he tried to stop Snoop from smoking weed on the set of BMF. Snoop Dogg will go to extreme lengths to get stoned no matter where he’s at in the world.

Ben Baller recently appeared on No Jumper where he discussed his friendship with Snoop Dogg. The conversation eventually led to the infamous tale of the rapper’s visit to South Korea. Baller explained that he told Snoop he would set him up with whatever he needed during his stay. However, there wasn’t enough weed in South Korea for the rapper. This led Snoop Dogg to get creative in his attempt to score more weed in Asia.

Snoop Dogg Feature For Weed

Ben explained that he already discussed the type of hotels and the best places to smoke weed. By the time Snoop Dogg got to his hotel, Ben kept to his word and had weed waiting for him, though it wasn’t enough. “I pretty much got all the weed possible in the entire country of Korea to his hotel,” Baller explained, revealing that it was less than two ounces. Even though the quality was to Snoop’s liking, he got through the bag quickly and needed another supply.

“So Snoop goes on his social media, and he goes, ‘I don’t give a fuck who you are. Anybody in Korea right now, bring me whatever weed you have.’ And his manager got mad about the shit because what he offered was absolutely insane,” Baller said of Snoop Dogg. “Snoop goes ‘I’m doing features right now for weed, and I’m signing off on the clearance.’” Even Ben said that it was an offer that was difficult to pass on for any Asian artist. “If I was a rapper in, like, Indonesia or somewhere else, I would’ve flown to Korea [and] took the chance because, bro, the hardest part is the clearance right?” Check out the clip above.
