Jonathan Majors’ Conviction Stands After Court Denies Motion To Drop Assault & Harassment Charges

In February, Jonathan Majors’ scheduled sentencing hearing was pushed back after his team filed a motion to vacate his conviction entirely. The defense reportedly felt as though insufficient evidence was presented at trial, that his charges were inconsistent, and more. Now, the court has shot him down, meaning he’ll be handed a sentence next week on April 8.

Earlier this year, the actor was found guilty of assault and harassment of his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. His conviction could see him get up to a year behind bars, or depending on how the sentencing goes, probation. Majors has maintained his innocence throughout the trial, and post-conviction. “I was reckless with her heart, not with her body,” he said of Jabbari in an interview with ABC News‘ Linsey Davis shortly after his guilty verdict was revealed.

Jonathan Majors Could Spend Up To A Year Behind Bars

Jabbari isn’t the only one of Majors’ former partners to come forward with assault allegations in recent months, however. In February, his exes Emma Duncan and Maura Hooper went public with accusations of physical and emotional abuse. Duncan alleges that he once “threw her across the room” and “threatened to make sure she couldn’t have children” during a fight in 2016. Hooper claims Majors was “deeply controlling” throughout their relationship, which she was allegedly “not allowed to speak with anyone about.”

Majors denies their allegations too, but admits that he’s “deeply embarrassed by some of his jealous behavior.” What do you think of a court rejecting Jonathan Majors’ request to get his charges dropped? What about the actor’s sentencing hearing next week? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

DaniLeigh Receives Sentence For DUI Hit & Run

In May of 2023, DaniLeigh was arrested for a DUI hit-and-run near Miami Beach. The performer was reportedly seen speeding and swerving in and out of lanes and eventually struck someone riding on a motorized scooter. She dragged the individual for almost a block before witnesses alerted a nearby police officer, who pulled her over and conducted various field sobriety tests.

Unfortunately, she didn’t pass and blew almost twice the legal limit. An empty bottle of vodka was also found in the back of her vehicle by an officer on the scene. Her victim received treatment at a local hospital, where he was diagnosed with a kidney laceration and a spinal fracture. She was handed multiple felony charges including driving under the influence, DUI damage to property, and causing bodily injury. Shortly after her arrest, she was released on a $1K bond.

DaniLeigh Sentenced To Five Years Probation

Now, the 29-year-old learned her fate. According to The Neighborhood Talk, she appeared in court today where she was handed her sentence. Reportedly, she’s been ordered to five years of probation. Luckily for her, DaniLeigh won’t be spending any more time behind bars. That doesn’t mean, however, that her consequences end there. Her victim has also filed a civil lawsuit against her, which is still pending.

This isn’t the only legal trouble DaniLeigh has found herself involved in as of late, either. The father of her daughter, DaBaby, was hit with a second lawsuit earlier this month stemming from his 2022 bowling alley fight with her brother, Brandon Bills. Reportedly, the bowling alley where the brawl took place wants him held liable for any damages. What do you think of DaniLeigh getting sentenced to five years of probation for her 2023 DUI? What about the fact that her civil lawsuit is still pending? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Joseline Hernandez Receives Sentence For Big Lex Altercation

Things popped off at John Gotti III and Floyd Mayweather’s fight back in June, but unfortunately, the boxers weren’t the only ones throwing hands. Joseline Hernandez famously got into a heated brawl with one of her reality show castmates Big Lex, as well as the officers who tried to detain her. Now, the Joseline’s Cabaret star has learned her fate in the case.

According to new court documents obtained by TMZ detailing Hernandez’s plea agreement, she pleaded not guilty to various charges. These charges include resisting an officer with violence, battery on a law enforcement officer, and more. She was sentenced to two years of probation. She’s also been ordered to have no contact with the victim and her family, and to write an apology to the officers involved in her arrest.

Joseline Hernandez Sentenced To Two Years Of Probation

Luckily, it doesn’t look like the personality will have to spend any time behind bars. She will, however, be subjected to random drug tests while she’s on probation. She’s also been ordered to complete a 29-week program that aims to teach batterers de-escalation techniques. Hopefully, the program will prevent Hernandez from getting into any more brawls any time soon. She’s also been open about her sobriety journey in the past, so the drug tests are likely to act as an incentive for her to stay clean.

Almost immediately after it took place, footage of the infamous altercation began making its rounds online. Unfortunately, the footage is far from flattering. Hernandez can be heard yelling various racist and homophobic remarks at responding officers. Eventually, she even had to be carried away from the situation by officers. What do you think of Joseline Hernandez getting sentenced to two years of probation for her fight with Big Lex? Are you surprised by her sentence? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Lil Zay Osama Faces 20-Year Sentence Following Gun Charges & Indictment

Lil Zay Osama’s recent arrest for gun possession and retail theft is remaining a court battle for the foreseeable future. Moreover, a New York grand jury indicted him on Wednesday (January 24) for possession of a machine gun and unregistered firearm possession, which could result in a 20-year sentence at maximum. The rapper, now in state custody in Illinois on unrelated charges, allegedly left a loaded Glock pistol with a switch in a car riding from Manhattan to Queens, which he used as a ride-share, and was arrested in 2022. He will face arraignment at a later date, and he was arrested in December of 2023 following a police chase.

“As alleged, [Isaiah] Dukes [Lil Zay Osama’s real name] brought a machine gun into our District, and then dangerously left it in the back of a ride-share,” Breon Peace, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, shared. “This Office, together with our law enforcement partners, will continue to work diligently to protect our communities from such dangerous weapons.

“His indictment is a stark reminder that loaded, illegal firearms -– sometimes modified to maximize their deadly potential, as alleged in this case -– continue to be brought into and carried throughout New York City,” Edward Caban, New York Police Department Commissioner, also remarked. “Let me be clear. This behavior will not be tolerated here. The NYPD vows to keep our streets safe from guns and anyone who unlawfully possesses them. I commend and thank the ride-share driver who observed this weapon for doing what we always ask of all New Yorkers. He saw something and he said something, and he possibly saved lives in the process.”

Meanwhile, this is what the MC had to say on Instagram in response to all of his legal trouble. “I guarantee n***as gone need me before I need them,” he wrote. “I’ll be home sooner than you think. 50 Cent Credits Himself For YFN Lucci’s Sentence After Recommending Lawyer, Drew Findling Responds

Earlier this week, YFN Lucci finally received his sentence after pleading guilty to one count of violating the street gang terrorism and prevention act. He received 10 years in prison and another 10 on probation. According to WSB-TV‘s Michael Seiden, however, he’ll reportedly only be serving roughly 3.5 additional months behind bars. 50 Cent recently reacted to the sentence on social media, singing the praises of Lucci’s attorney, Drew Findling.

In the past, the “Billion Dollar Lawyer” has represented the likes of Cardi B, Offset, Waka Flocka Flame, Gucci Mane, and even former POTUS Donald Trump. According to Fif, he recommended Findling to Lucci, which ultimately worked out in his favor. In a new clip, he says that he got nervous in the beginning, as Lucci’s mother came to him and expressed that she was unsure of how things would pan out for her son. “I started feeling shaky about this sh*t,” he explains. “I said ‘Oh, sh*t.’ I started feeling cr*zy.”

50 Cent Praises Drew Findling For His Work In YFN Lucci’s Case

He goes on to describe how he went to Findling after hearing mumblings of a 20-year sentence, but the lawyer reassured him that everything would work out in the end. “I go, ‘Drew, is this real? Like 20 motherf*cking years?’ And he said, ‘Don’t worry about it, I’ve got it.’”

“Next thing you know, 20 years turned into four months,” he recalls. “You need a lawyer motherf*cker? You need Drew Findling.” After seeing 50 Cent praise him on DJ Akademiks’ Instagram page, Findling dropped a simple red heart emoji in the comments section. Later, Lucci was sentenced to 10 years in prison and another 10 of probation. However, with time served dating back to January 13, 2021, he’ll be eligible for parole in just a few months. The prosecution has already promised to write a letter recommending him for early release. “After three years of pretrial litigation, more than two weeks of jury selection and three years of incarceration waiting for his jury trial, today, the prosecution finally relented and dismissed the murder and RICO charges against Rayshawn Bennett,” YFN Lucci’s legal team said in a statement provided to ABC News.

YFN Lucci Appears In Court

Lucci’s attorney, Drew Findling, also shot down rumors he’d be testifying in the YSL RICO trial outside of the courtroom. “Anybody that says that is a liar,” he said. “We all just went to court today. It’s clear as day. There is no corporation in the YSL case. He will not be testifying in that case. If anybody wants to subpoena him, we’ll file a subpoena to squash that subpoena. He wants nothing to do with that case. He’s made that clear. For three and a half years, he has said he knows nothing and will not participate in that case.” Be on the lookout for further updates on YFN Lucci on HotNewHipHop.

YFN Lucci Will Likely Only Serve 3.5 Months In Jail: Details

YFN Lucci is expected to only serve 3.5 more months in jail following his 20-year sentence on Tuesday. The sentence was to be broken down with 10 years of prison time and another 10 of probation. As part of his plea deal, in which he admits his guilt in violating the street gang terrorism and prevention act, the State will write a letter to the pardon and parole board confirming it will not object to his early release. Accounting for the time served he’s piled up since his arrest on January 13, 2021, he’ll be eligible for parole in just a few months.

The deal isn’t bad for Lucci, considering that prior to his acceptance of the plea, he faced several more counts, including felony murder, which carried a maximum penalty of life without parole. Before his sentence was read on Tuesday, he apologized to the victim’s family.

Big Meech Might Be Out Of Jail Next Year After Sentence Reduction Bid

Big Meech, the co-founder of the Black Mafia Family (BMF), might get yet another sentence reduction in his 30-year stint, according to AllHipHop. Moreover, he and his legal team asked for another three-year reduction, one that he previously nabbed back in 2021, moving his scheduled release from May 2031 to May 2028. Meech faced conviction for money laundering and running a national crime enterprise, for which he received over $270 million in drug trade profits from the late 1990s until 2007. His previous reduction came after a reevaluation of drug quantity and chemical quantity across all related charges.

Furthermore, now Lil Meech’s father and his lawyer Brittany K. Barnett of the Burned Alive project think they deserve a step further. They motioned for another sentence reduction of three years, which if approved, would set Big Meech’s release date for May of 2025. In addition, their argument cited Section 18 582(c)(2) of the U.S. Criminal Code (U.S.C.), which states a judge can reduce a sentence if sentencing rules for their charges became more lenient after the conviction. This pairs with an April 2023 amendment which eliminates certain “criminal history status points” for select individuals with criminal history.

Big Meech Release Prison Next Year Sentence Reduction Bid

Specifically, it seems like this eliminates “status points” imposed during an individual’s sentence, and Barnett believes this amendment would strike at least two points off the former crime boss. As this law came into effect in November of 2023, they believe he is qualified for another reduction as outlined in the U.S.C. Big Meech has done a lot to change his image, outreach, and philosophy while in prison. For example, he contributed to many charity events in his community and wants to rebrand BMF under the “Build More Families” moniker for positive change.

“Notably, Federal Bureau of Prisons (B.O.P.) staff observed that ‘Flenory has displayed a dedication to remaining physically fit and has taken it upon himself to lead and teach exercise classes to other inmates,’” his lawyer remarked. “He also leads regular focus groups out of various self-help books and appears to [have] a positive mental health effect [on] other inmates.” We’ll see whether the court is compassionate to the “Power” critic’s efforts. Stay posted on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Big Meech.

Tory Lanez Motions To Dismiss His Sentence Due To New Testimony & “Childhood Trauma”

Tory Lanez is seeking to vacate his ten-year sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion, according to new reports from Meghann Cuniff. The reasoning behind this legal filing stems from a new testimony on behalf of his driver and bodyguard Jauquan Smith, who did not testify during his initial trial. While he didn’t see who shot the gun, he claimed to have seen the rapper and singer try to take the weapon away from Kelsey Harris before the shooting. “[Lanez] and Ms. Harris began struggling as Mr. Peterson tried to unarm Ms. Harris,” his statement, filed this week, reads. “I was still pulling [Megan] and did not see who shot the weapon.”

Not only that, but the Canadian artist’s habeas petition for re-sentencing also brings up other factors. For one, he wants the appellate to take into account his “childhood trauma” in their assessment of his case, as he also did with the sentencing judge. In addition, Tory Lanez expressed that deportation should not have become part of this decision due to its discriminatory nature. The specifics of these arguments remain unclear, but these summaries offer some necessary context for what aspects he is dissatisfied with.

Meghann Cuniff’s Update On Tory Lanez Appeal

Furthermore, Cuniff indicated on her social media platforms and articles that authorities will consider Tory Lanez’s petition along with his appellate brief. However, no one expects them to come to a conclusive decision on the matter for a couple of months given some logistic work-arounds. For example, the three-judge panel in this appeal stated that they will consider the petition once they have the entire appellate, which they haven’t filed yet. As of writing this article, it’s due December 26, so the defense still has time to prep it accordingly. Still, we’re sure that the 31-year-old would rather move things along as fast as possible so he can get an answer.

Meanwhile, this follows his attacks against Cuniff in a new promo video. Given how this whole case has progressed since the jury decided on a verdict, we’re sure that it won’t fully be over for years to come. Hopefully we’re wrong, though, as everyone involved needs their time away from it to heal and move on with their lives. For more news and the latest updates on Tory Lanez, come back to HNHH.
