Doja Cat And Doechii Share First Look At Their Upcoming Collaboration

Earlier this year, Doja Cat released her new album, Scarlet. It performed pretty well on the charts debuting in the top 5 of the Billboard 200. It also spawned one of Doja’s biggest hits of the past few years. “Paint The Town Red” has spent three non-consecutive weeks at number one on the Hot 100. It’s spent the past two weeks at number two on the chart being held off by Taylor Swift’s 2019 deep-cut turned smash hit “Cruel Summer.” Taylor is once again expected to top the charts next week with her song “Slut!.”

But Doja Cat is already looking ahead to future new music. Last night she began her Scarlet tour taking the album and many of her past favorites on the road. The theatrical performance got a lot of fans online talking but one moment in particular had them particularly excited. Doja and her tour opener Doechii showed off a teaser trailer of sorts. The clip ends with a preview of a new song the two collaborated on. While they didn’t confirm any plans for its release, that didn’t stop fans from buzzing about it online. Check out the entire clip below.

Doja Cat And Doechii Preview New Song Together

The new tour isn’t the only way Doja is celebrating Scarlet. In tandem with the tour starting she also dropped a new merch collaboration with Amazon. Fans don’t have to wait until they see her show in person to get their hands on some Scarlet merch. A number of shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, and accessories went live on the webstore earlier this week.

Last month, Doja Cat stopped by one of the most famous interview sets of the internet age. She sat down to answer questions and enjoy some spicy wings on an episode of Hot Ones. In the interview, she once again proved how down to earth she is to fans. In one memorable moment in particular she admits to being addicted to the internet and falling down YouTube “rabbit holes.” What do you think of Doja Cat and Doechii’s new song teaser? Here Is The Merch Available At Doja Cat’s ‘Scarlet Tour’

Doja Cat’s long-awaited Scarlet Tour kicked off tonight (October 31) in San Francisco. Joined by fellow rappers Ice Spice and Doechii on select dates, Doja Cat is set to perform one of the buzziest concerts of the year. And with a line-up this exciting and several hits in Doja and company’s repertoire, fans are certainly going to want to have something to remember this tour.

In clips shared by fans via Twitter, Doja’s merch consists of internet-themed, Y2K-inspired shirts ($45). One of the shirts looks like a digital collage comprised of Microsoft WordArt. This particular shirt has a white fabric and reads “DOJA CAT LOVES HER FANS” in large block letters.

There is also a manila-colored crop top ($45) which reads “Scarlet Tour USA” in red lettering.

One of the sassier options is a simple white tee with lowercase black lettering, reading “i f*cking hate doja cat.” Another one is a shirt that reads “I love penis,” with the latter word crossed out and replaced with “Jesus.” Both of these are $40.

A large black sweater ($85) contains red lettering featuring her website, promising fans their questions will be answered.

But for those wanting a more simple design, a t-shirt with the Scarlet logo ($40) is also available for purchase.

Doja Cat Brings The Red Lights To BBC Live Lounge

The BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge is an instantly recognizable stage that has played host to most of the biggest artists in all of music. Fresh off a successful new album and a number one hit on the Hot 100, Doja Cat became the newest artist to take the stage. She brought her two current Hot 100 hits with her for the performance. She unpacked “Paint The Town Red” and “Agora Hills” for her performance. Both songs are on the Hot 100 this week at number 2 and 55 respectively. In between, she also delivered a cover of neo soul and jazz band Hiatus Kaiyote’s song “Red Room.”

“Paint The Town Red” has been a particularly impressive single for Doja. After being released back in March the song started to pick up steam last month. That eventually resulted in three non-consecutive weeks spent at number one on the Hot 100 so far. Next week, the song has a chance to challenge Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer” to potentially even return to the top spot once again. “Agora Hills” in comparison reached number 18 on the Hot 100 in the week following the release of the album Scarlet, where both songs appear. Doja Cat Takes A Misty Red Stage

Doja Cat didn’t quite reached the peak of the Billboard 200 like she did the Hot 100. Regardless, Scarlet had an impressive first week on the charts turning up at number four. It was her second straight album to land in the top 5 on the chart and her third straight album to peak inside the top ten.

Doja Cat recently became the most recent artist to join another iconic institution. That was the Hot Ones stage where she tried some very spicy wings and talked about how she’s addicted to the internet. What do you think of Doja Cat’s BBC 1 Radio Live Lounge performance recording? Here’s The Meaning Behind Doja Cat’s ‘Agora Hills’

Doja Cat made “Agora Hills” one of the singles from her recent album, Scarlet. In the song, she discusses her romantic feelings for a lover and how she just wants to show them off. Doja also rejects any outside thoughts because of how well she’s being treated.

And while she hasn’t spoken directly about the song’s meaning, her lyrics still make the intentions quite clear.

“Be my security, it’s your therapy / With you, I ain’t holding sh*t back / When I need my space, you give that / When he broke my heart, you fixed that,” she says. “With a long walk on the beach / Love it when they honk-honk on the street (beep) / When they see us zoom by in the Jeep (yeah) / We a whole damn joint, we a energy.”

Still, fans on Reddit’s Doja Cat subreddit were left wondering about the meaning behind the video, as one poster felt it didn’t quite connect to building an album narrative like “Paint The Town Red” and “Demons” did.

Commenters responded with their own interpretations of her “Agora Hills” visual, with one suggesting she was being “reborn” as “the new Doja” and another wondering if it references an anime.

Here’s Why Doja Cat Changed Her Album Title From ‘Hellmouth’ To ‘Scarlet’

Over the past few months, there are many things “Paint The Town Red” rapper Doja Cat has altered. From her now signature haircut to her countless tattoos (that have sent users online into a frenzy), the Grammy Award winner isn’t afraid to make changes spontaneous changes. However, fans were vocal about their annoyance with Doja’s indecisiveness behind her latest album’s title.

Yesterday (October 12), during her appearance on Hot Ones, she addressed the thought process behind the creative call. So, here’s why Doja Cat changed her album title from Hellmouth to Scarlet.

When asked by host Sean Evans to elaborate on what goes into selecting an album title, Doja replied, “I don’t care about the meaning being so deep, as much as the word being a cool word. I just like good words. I thought Hellmouth was cool… it’s like the gates of hell. But that felt so aggressive to me after a while, and I don’t know if I even like it anymore. I change my mind constantly. And Scarlet felt like the right thing to do.”

She continued, “It’s kind of an ode to Hot Pink. I did the name of a color, but it’s not really; you think of Scarlet as someone’s first name and not as a color. That was kind of the twist to it. And also red is just a passionate shade.”

Doja Cat Explains Changing Album Name From “Hellmouth” To “Scarlet”

Doja Cat says that the name Hellmouth felt too aggressive for her new album, hence the change to Scarlet. She discussed the name of the project during an interview with Sean Evans on Hot Ones, for an episode that premiered Thursday.

When Evans asked about the changing of the name, Doja explained: “I don’t care about the meaning being so deep, as much as the word being a cool word. I just like good words. I thought Hellmouth was cool … it’s like the gates of hell. But that felt so aggressive to me after a while, and I don’t know if I even like it anymore.”

From there, she explained that Scarlet made more sense. “I change my mind constantly,” Doja admitted. “And Scarlet felt like the right thing to do, ’cause it’s kind of an ode to Hot Pink. I did the name of a color, but it’s not really; you think of [Scarlett] as someone’s first name, and not as a color. That was kind of the twist to it. And also red is just a passionate shade.” Check out her appearance on Hot Ones below.

Doja Cat Takes On “Hot Ones”

Elsewhere in the interview, Doja spoke about how deep into internet culture she is, revealing that she’s currently obsessed with “YouTube poop,” which Evans described as a “sub genre of YouTube comedy.” Doja explained: “I like it most when it’s a talk show, and you go in and edit it to make it sound like someone’s saying something that’s super crass and cr*zy,. Like, there’s some Dr. Phil YouTube poops that are some of the best ones. I keep going back to them, but it’s a very deep rabbit hole.” The interview comes after Doja recently faced backlash online for wearing a t-shirt featuring the face of alleged neo-Nazi Sam Hyde.

Doja Cat’s “Paint The Town Red” Tops Hot 100 For A Third Week

Last month, Doja Cat’s single “Paint The Town Red” ended a long-running streak on the Hot 100. It had been more than a year since a rap song was sitting atop the charts dating back to Nicki Minaj’s “Super Freaky Girl.” Minaj’s single debuted at the #1 spot before falling back in week two. It took more than 12 months and deep into 2023 for another rap song to occupy the spot. Technically one other rapper has been at the top spot on the charts since then, when Latto appeared there for a verse she gave on the Jung Kook song “Seven.”

Now Doja Cat was fighting for a third week at the top of the charts and once again faced Jung Kook as a challenger. The K-pop superstar dropped a new song with Jack Harlow called “3D” that was expected to make a high debut. The song ended up tapping in at number 5 in its first week on the charts and “Paint The Town Red” held firm at the top spot. The top 3 spots on the chart round out with SZA’s “Snooze” and Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer” making it the first time in over 7 months that the top three spots were all occupied by women. Check out the full top 10 below.

Doja Cat Scores A Third Non-Consecutive Week At #1

Doja’s run at the top spot hasn’t come in consecutive weeks. In between her three-week run Drake and SZA debuted their new single “Slime You Out,” at the top spot on the charts. Following the release of Drake’s new album For All The Dogs his collaboration with J. Cole “First Person Shooter” is expected to debut at the top spot next week.

Drake is expected to debut all 23 of the songs on his new album on the Hot 100 next week. That drop could spell the end of some notable Hot 100 runs. In particular, Taylor Swift and Ice Spice’s collaboration “Karma” has the potential to leave the charts. What do you think of Doja Cat scoring another week at the top spot on the Hot 100? Let us know in the comment section below.

Doja Cat Uses TikTok To Threaten To Turn Evil Again

Doja Cat’s social media pages are always a roller coaster. Earlier today she shared a post from Instagram with with no caption. The first picture was just a simple selfie that doesn’t particularly say much of anything on its own. But attached to it is a that clearly speaks a lot to Doja’s mentality right now. Her answer to a lot of the hate she’s been receiving appears to be that she could turn back into her evil self at any time. The TikTok features someone telling a story about how they’re trying to improve themselves, but could snap at any moment if they keep getting pushed.

Doja’s fans seem to be taking that sentiment seriously. “If Anyone was about to comment something rude ab doja just don’t say anything at all , it ain’t worth it y’all , leave her alone,” one of the top comments reads. On top of people defending Doja, the comments are also full of fans expressing fondness for her new music. “The only thing she sold was a record your honor,” another one of the top comments reads. Though the announcement of the Billboard 200 has been delayed this week, Doja has a chance to place her new album inside the top 5. She also just debuted her new single “Agora Hills” in the top 20 during the same week “Paint The Town Red” returned to the number one spot on the charts. Check out Doja’s Instagram post below.

Doja Cat Says She’s “This Close”

Doja Cat’s new album didn’t hold much of anything back. In the lyrics of particular tracks she takes aim at the Kardashian family by name. In the same song she also addresses her controversial relationship with J. Cyrus. That controversy hasn’t stopped the sales of her album, if anything it’s helped increase them.

After an initial projection for her album to debut inside the top 10 it was bumped up to a projected top 5. It would be her second straight top 5 debut and third straight top 10 debut. What do you think of Doja Cat’s new Instagram post? Let us know in the comment section below.

Doja Cat Showed Off A New Devil Painting That She Made Just For Her Fans

Undeterred by fans’ criticism, Doja Cat has continued to lean into the impish imagery of her Scarlet rollout as she promotes the album in the wake of its release. After her wealth of new tattoos got labeled demonic by fans, Doja doubled down, mocking listeners for accusing her of Satanism on multiple Scarlet tracks, including “Skull And Bones.”

But she’s clearly reveling in the attention (heh), since she continues to delve into devilish depictions of her Scarlet alter ego. As HipHopDX noted, over the weekend, she shared a photo on Instagram of a painting she created during a fan event. “painting for people is funnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn,” she wrote in the caption. The painting itself — which you can see on the third, fourth, seventh, and eighth slides below, features a black, horned figure in a red field. Later additions include a sinister grin and the words “not afraid” emblazoned across the background.

Doja’s rollout hasn’t been all “Demons,” though. The video for “Agoura Hills” paints a very different picture (heh) of Doja’s interests, highlighting her past explanation that the album was created over two very different periods, resulting in a much lighter half. But it still looks like she’ll continue tweaking fans’ nerves as long as it tickles her fancy.

Doja Cat’s Victoria’s Secret World Tour Performance Includes “Ouchies” Live Debut

Famous lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret was nearly cancelled due to fatphobic comments made by those at the head of the company several years ago. They’ve since gone through some major changes just in time to reintroduce their annual fashion show to the world before 2023 ends. The event itself actually took place on September 6, as PopSugar notes. Models like Naomi Campbell, Gigi Hadid, Hailey Bieber, and Julia Fox were all tapped to strut down the runway. VS also recruited an impressive roster of performers, such as Doechii and Doja Cat.

From what we saw of the latter walking the red carpet, she looked as confident as ever. However, she later revealed on Instagram that the dress she wore was incredibly uncomfortable, and even left her feeling “manhandled.” Thankfully, when it was time for Doja to take the stage and showcase some songs from her Scarlet LP, she changed into different looks that allowed her to move with ease.

Doja Cat Performs “Ouchies” for the First Time

“Ouchies” was one of the titles the blonde beauty picked to debut live at the World Tour. “I don’t need another hit ’cause it’s useless, really / I ain’t lookin’ good? You hallucinatin’,” the songs braggadocious bars go. “Crusty, musty, dusty b**ches / Don’t you ever, ever in your life / Come for me,” Doja declares at the end of the track, seemingly as a message to her haters.

Elsewhere, the “Say So” singer brought her previously released “Attention” single to life. For that, she switched up her outfit in favour of a bold, red look with smokey, black eyeshadow. “Talk your s**t about me, I can easily disprove it, it’s stupid / You follow me, but you don’t really care about the music,” Doja raps on that song.
