Mozzy Gets Raunchy In His ‘In My Face’ Video With 2 Chainz, Saweetie, And YG

The turn-up is real in Mozzy’s new video for “In My Face” featuring 2 Chainz, Saweetie, and YG. Produced by Mustard, who also appears in the video, the song is a debauched party anthem that finds Mozzy, Chainz, and Saweetie throwing in some genuinely raunchy verses while YG implores a female partner to “put it in my face.”

All the features involved are good looks; YG and Mozzy are fresh off their joint album Kommunity Service, so it’s good to see them reunite, Saweetie is a fellow Northern California resident who sounds more refreshed than ever here, and 2 Chainz and Mustard have made magic together in the past. All told, their contributions make for an upbeat West Coast jam that should help Mozzy edge closer to the spotlight — or at least hold down a spot in summer playlist rotations for the sunny months.

“In My Face” will appear on the Sacramento rapper’s upcoming mixtape Survivor’s Guilt, which is due this Friday, July 22. Previously released singles include “Lurkin” feat. EST Gee and “Open Arms.” Survivor’s Guilt will be Mozzy’s first release under Yo Gotti’s CMG imprint, which is another good look after the group received a wave of positive press in the wake of their NBA Finals anthem “Big League” and signing GloRilla. CMG is also recently released Gangsta Art, its first compilation album, on which Mozzy certainly gets plenty of shine.

Quavo Reflects on Saweetie Elevator Video, Says He Never Would Harm a Woman

Quavo Sued for Assaulting a Limo Driver in Las Vegas

In April 2021, a video of a physical altercation between Quavo and Saweetie at an elevator went viral online. The video from the former couple was from 2020, but the two would release statements.

In a new cover story with GQ, Quavo reflects back on the moment, reaffirming he will “never once in a million years want to do any harm to any woman, period.”

“I don’t like what people think,” Quavo said. “When they saw the elevator thing they thought it was abusive, something crazy.”

You can see the full story below.

“This unfortunate incident happened a year ago, while we have reconciled since then and moved past this particular disagreement, there were simply too many other hurdles to overcome in our relationship and we have both since moved on,” Saweetie’s spokesperson shared in a statement to Complex in April 2021. “I kindly ask that everyone respect my privacy during this time.”

In a separate statement to TMZ, Quavo also called the incident “unfortunate.”

“We had an unfortunate situation almost a year ago that we both learned and moved on from. I haven’t physically abused Saweetie and have real gratitude for what we did share overall,” Quavo shared.

Spotify’s ‘Rap Caviar’ Podcast Is Being Turned Into A Hulu Docuseries

The podcast-to-streaming-docuseries pipeline has proven quite lucrative over the past several months/years, so with Spotify branching out, it only makes sense that the music streaming giant would partner with television streaming giant Hulu to produce a docuseries about one of its own most popular podcasts, RapCaviar, titled RapCaviar Presents. According to The Hollywood Reporter the show will “explore major cultural topics from the perspectives of some of today’s top hip-hop artists.”

Those top artists include familiar names like Doja Cat, Jack Harlow, Megan Thee Stallion, Roddy Ricch, Saweetie, and Tyler The Creator. The director behind the Tekashi 69 docuseries Supervillain: The Making of Tekashi 6ix9ine, Karam Gill, is billed as executive producer and creative director, along with Av Accius (Murder In The Thirst) and Marcus A. Clarke (Blood Brothers: Malcolm X & Muhammad Ali).

Spotify’s RapCaviar playlist is credited with boosting the careers of new artists whose names appear on it alongside more established stars, including many of the focus artists of the upcoming series. Meanwhile, select artists have also performed at live shows bearing the playlist’s title and the indie label LVRN even performed a group cypher for the RapCaviar vertical.

And while those artists’ stories may very well offer fertile ground for a documentary or two, let’s not get carried away. While the podcast-to-streaming-docuseries process almost inevitably turns out a scripted series, I’m not sure anybody needs to see their stories dramatized by Emmy-baiting, peak TV-style directors and directors. Except me. As soon as I wrote that, I wanted it. Give it to me. NOW.

Muni Long And Saweetie Drop A Colorful New Visual For ‘Baby Boo’

Riding the highs of her latest EP, Public Displays Of Affection Too, Muni Long has dropped a flashy new visual. Joined by Saweetie, Muni looks to make a new man her “Baby Boo.”

At the beginning of the video, Muni is seen browsing a dating app called BLK. She is then carried into a colorful dream sequence, in which she latches onto an ice cream truck, driven by her match on the app. Saweetie pops in with a fiery verse, as she hoops it up with a man in a pastel green room.

The song is a fast-paced nod to Muni’s pop roots, with catchy rhythms and an infectious hook, on which she sings, “I love you, I love you / I’m always thinkin’ of you / And no, it’s not a crush / Baby, I wanna lock you down.”

Muni has worked in the industry for over 15 years, putting out EPs and albums under the moniker Priscilla Renea. Until her breakthrough hit “Hrs And Hrs” went viral on TikTok last year, much of her success came from working as a songwriter for the likes of Ariana Grande, Rihanna, and, Kelly Clarkson.

In a recent interview with MTV News, Muni said that as a singer in her own right, she wants to be “a catalyst for little brown girls.”
