Rolling Loud Thailand Teases Travis Scott as First of Three Major Headliners

Travis Scott to headline Rolling Loud Thailand

Travis Scott appears to be working to put the Astroworld disaster behind him and return to performing live concerts. Earlier this month, Scott was announced as a headliner for Rolling Loud Portugal and this week he was announced as a headliner for Rolling Loud Thailand.

The website announced Scott as the first of three major headliners with more to be announced in coming weeks. The festival has also promised over 60 artists including well-known international artists as well as popular Asian acts.

The long-anticipated inaugural event will be Rolling Loud’s first event in Asia and will take place April 13-15, 2023 and will be held in Pattaya, Thailand, an area about 150 km south of Bangkok, known for its breathtaking beaches as well as festive nightlife.

In addition to expanding their American presence, Rolling Loud recently held their first-ever Canadian festival (with Future, WizKid, and Dave headlining), a European debut in Portugal, the brand’s first camping festival in The Netherlands, and most notably, the Rolling Loud world tour in New York in September, headlined by Nicki Minaj, A$AP Rocky, and Future.

Tickets are priced at about $385 USD for VIP and $242 for general admission.

More information can be found at https://www.rollingloud.com/thailand.

The announcement comes just over a year after Scott’s Astroworld disaster in which eight people were killed and dozens more injured due to crowd control issues.

Rolling Loud’s Compilation Album Begins With “Finger Food” By Rae Sremmurd & Duke Deuce: Stream

It’s already been an undeniably big year for compilation albums. Still, before 2022 closes out, Rolling Loud is giving us a taste of what their upcoming project will sound like. On Friday (December 9), they shared “Finger Food.” The lit new track was chiefly crafted in collaboration with Rae Sremmurd and Duke Deuce.

The “Crunkstar meets Rockstar” single accordingly focuses on the trio’s no-f*cks-given attitude. As they each take turns sharing their verses, the artists are seemingly trying to capture the energy of what it’s really like to be at an RL show.

“All she wanna do is f*ck on a sand beach / And woah / Climb up in the DJ booth / Stand up in that photo coupe,” Swae Lee rhymes on the chorus.

Later, we hear from Duke, who raps, “Young and reckless, put the pedal to the metal, let it rock / Bitch, you know we crunk as hell, hittin’ donuts in the lot.”

Finally, Slim Jxmmi comes through with some lyrics of his own. “I’m just mixin’ up my dranks just like they chemicals / Double stuff my backwood and let’s go to the moon,” he spits early on in his verse.

It remains unclear what other artists will appear on the upcoming compilation project. According to a press release, though, it’s a “mix of collaborations that could only happen at the hands” of the festival.

Stream Rolling Loud’s “Finger Food” single with Rae Sremmurd and Duke Deuce on Spotify or Apple Music below. Afterward, let us know which artist had the song’s best verse in the comment section.

Quotable Lyrics:

Bitch, you know we crunk as hell, hittin’ donuts in the lot
You ain’t get that private message, you can’t pull up to the spot
Bitches comin’ out they clothes, it ain’t really even hot (What the f*ck?)

21 Savage Says He Will Never Perform At Rolling Loud Again

Rolling Loud New York took place this past weekend, and featured artists such as Future, Nicki Minaj, A$AP Rocky, Lil Baby, and Lil Uzi Vert just to name a couple. Future was set to headline the final day with 21 Savage and others joining the I Never Liked You artist on stage. However, 21 was nowhere to be found and never took the stage.

While nobody knows what happened, and 21’s team has not released a statement as to why the Savage Mode II artist didn’t perform despite being on the lineup, 21 took to Twitter sunday night where he said that he will never perform at Rolling Loud ever again.

“Rolling Loud will never get another show out of me again,” 21 tweeted.

While the cause for this remains unclear, Variety speculates that it might be due to 21’s late arrival. Big Sean and Ski Mask The Slump God were also set to perform but were unable to because of their late arrival as well. A$AP Rocky’s headlining set was even cut short due to Citi Field’s strict 10 p.m. noise curfew. He later took responsibility for the short set in a tweet.

“I am so hurt right now! Last night was supposed to be a turning point in my live shows from the old to new!” Rocky tweeted. “I will take full responsibility for the circumstances of what led to last night’s show being everything it was and everything it wasn’t.”

ASAP Rocky Says His Rolling Loud Performance Will Be His Last Until He Finishes His Album

Prior to ASAP Rocky‘s performance at NYC’s Rolling Loud festival this weekend, he revealed that it would be his last live show… at least until he finishes his next album. In a social media post Rocky shared of a pretend magazine, it included the tease caption of “His last show until the album.” There is no current release date, so fans are left unsure on when he’ll take the stage again.

During his Saturday headlining set, however, Rocky had to end the show early, at just nine songs in. While he brought out a number of guests from Pharrell to Tyler The Creator, it was cut short due to a noise ordinance by the festival.

“I am so hurt right now! Last night was supposed to be a turning point in my live shows from the old to new!” Rocky said. “I will take full responsibility for the circumstances of what led to last night’s show being everything it was and everything it wasn’t.”

“I also want to acknowledge that even tho I prepared the best show for my fans, detail for detail , over the course of MONTHS…” he continued. “I was unfortunately not able to bring my vision to fruition and I’m hurt about that and I want to apologize to all of my fans and continued supporters, and thank y’all for showing up for me regardless!!”

21 Savage Insists ‘Rolling Loud Will Never Get A Show Out Of Me Ever Again’

Rolling Loud has become the unofficial festival home for a number of rappers who are regulars on its roster. Its most recent event in New York featured mainstays like ASAP Rocky and Future. However, there is now one Rolling Loud regular who intends to cut ties with the long-running traveling festival. 21 Savage, who was billed to perform at Rolling Loud New York this weekend but did not take the stage ahead of Future as planned, pronounced via Twitter, “Rolling Loud will never get a show out of me ever again.”

According to XXL via attendees on Twitter, other artists who were unable to perform included Big Sean and Ski Mask The Slump God. Although the festival did not officially reveal why so many sets were canceled, concertgoers complained of late arrivals throughout the weekend. According to one user, Rolling Loud organizers told fans, “Don’t be mad at us! Be mad at the artists being late.”

Rolling Loud certainly wouldn’t be the first festival affected by late artist arrivals and other logistical issues. Many festivals are still working out the kinks from COVID-19-imposed hiatuses even two years later because of the wide-reaching effects of the live entertainment shutdown. Meanwhile, those artists who did get to perform found that they were in for a bumpy ride; while Nicki Minaj and Playboi Carti impressed with special guests, ASAP Rocky had to cut his set short and found himself facing an uncomfortable mosh pit mishap.
