What Did Rich Paul Say About Kid Cudi & Cleveland?

For a city that doesn’t even crack the top 50 biggest in America, Cleveland, Ohio has had an outsized impact on pop culture. But two of its most successful natives appear to have a disagreement on just how much one of them is beloved in the city itself.

After fellow Cleveland natives Rich Paul and Jake Paul (… no relation, oddly enough) noted that the city doesn’t really “embrace” him the way it should, Kid Cudi posted a long response to them on Twitter, arguing that he makes “most people in that city and the state of Ohio proud.”

During his appearance on Jake’s podcast BS w/ Jake Paul, Rich noted, “You can’t expect somebody to treat a situation any differently than how they were treated.” While Jake claimed that Cudi “acts like he’s not from there,” noting that the natives have major pride for it.

However, he said, Cudi charged him an “astronomical fee” to perform at one of Jake’s recent boxing matches. Rich defended him, saying he couldn’t blame Cudi for pursuing his business.

However, Cudi seemed to take these statements personally, offering the below commentary before deleting his post altogether:

Ok so I just saw this and heres my thoughts:
Rich Paul doesn’t know me. He doesn’t know my life. My mom lives in Cleveland and lye been goin there on holiciays and summer breaks for years. Mostly when im in Cleveland, its family time. Im not throwin events in the city cuz its already too hot for me in the city. When im there I like the chill. It hangin at Cleveland clubs or in the streets or whatever the fuck else u expect me to do. Oh I get it, was I suppose to catch a couple Browns or Cays games? Im the most lowkey guy around. You aint suppose to see me brother. Thats number 1. Number 2: I will say the city of Cleveland has embraced me over the years. So I disagree. Radio in Cleveland might not play my shit, but I had 20k people at Moon MaAs Landing in Cleveland last year. A success. And were cloin it again too. Not only does the city embrace me, I make most people in that city and the state of Ohio proud. Everytime I record a record I mention the city. Thats all day. Everybody that listens to my music knows Im proud of where im from. And 3rd, as far as Jake Paul, listen chief, Im an artist. Areal one. I make art for a living. Im not some guy that comes out to perform at boxing matches. I entertained it tho cuz it was u, anci tho it went against what I stand for I submitted a fee. My fee is my fee. Especially for some shit thats not my style. If im gonna do it its gonna be worth it for my pockets and time. This is business baby. Im not these other rappin ass niggas that will show up for a lil check. U came to me u shoulda knew what time it was young man. U dont know me either to say im anything broski. So theres that. Ok, these are toy thoughts.

Cudi’s well within his rights to respond (although it looks like he’s mistaken Jake’s comments for Rich’s — which doesn’t seem surprising given Cudi isn’t really a sports guy), but the length and otne of his response is giving “The lady doth protest too much, methinks” energy. Perhaps he got some more context and that’s why he deleted the post; the internet has a way of removing context and generating friction where there shouldn’t be any.

Kid Cudi’s Cleveland Roots Disputed By Rich Paul

Rich Paul took aim at Kid Cudi’s Cleveland heritage during a recent appearance on Jake Paul’s podcast. “Do I think how Cudi treats Cleveland is weird? No, because I don’t think Cleveland ever embraced Cudi, unfortunately. Because you can’t expect somebody to treat a situation any different to how they were treated,” Paul said.

Despite Paul’s comments, Cudi has also repped his home city. His debut mixtape in 2008 featured the track “Cleveland is the Reason”. Furthermore, the release featured several other references to the Ohio hub. He also launched a Cleveland-based music festival, Man Moon’s Landing, last year. “It was dope. I was exposed to a lot of different things. It was like a suburb and the hood was a couple blocks away. There was a bar at the end of my street my dad used to take me to. He would talk to his buddies and have a beer and I would sit there and eat jellybeans. I was like 5 or 6. I came to New York solely to do music. The response was never what I wanted [in Cleveland] because the Cleveland audience only wanted to hear that street sh-t,” Cudi said in 2008.

Jake Paul Also Trashes Kid Cudi

Elsewhere in the podcast episode, Paul also took shots at Cudi. Paul’s grievance surrounded Cudi’s appearance fees. Paul claimed that he had reached out to Cudi about performing at his 2021 fight against Tyron Woodley. However, Cudi’s fee was just too much for Paul to afford. “I tried to get him to perform at the Tyron Woodley fight just before I came out and he asked for like, an astronomical fee that was like, ‘F-ck you.’ I get it, but it’s like, this was like some sh-t to tap in back with the city. Like, first event back from Covid,” Paul explained.

Furthermore, Paul argued that he gave discounts on his appearance fees when the City of Cleveland was involved. With Cudi out, Paul instead made his ring entrance to recordings of Machine Gun Kelly‘s “Till I Die” and Jeezy‘s “Put On”. Paul would go on to beat the retired MMA fighter via split decision. Cudi has not yet responded to the allegations.

Adele Appears To Wear Wedding Ring Following Rich Paul Marriage Rumors

Adele was spotted seemingly wearing a wedding ring just days after appearing to confirm she and long-time partner Rich Paul had tied the knot. Adele’s new bling was spotted several times as she and Paul sat courtside at Lakers-Mavericks on Wednesday night. The couple have been dating since 2021. Ironically, their first public outing together was a basketball game.

Last weekend, Adele appeared to confirm that she and Paul had tied the knot after two years. The singer reportedly made the confession during an appearance at the comedy show of her long-time friend Alan Carr. “I was at Alan Carr’s comedy show in LA tonight and Adele was in the audience,” wrote one fan. “Alan asked the crowd if anyone got married recently and Adele shouted ‘I did,’” read an anonymous report on Deuxmoi. Furthermore, the claim was repeated by several other submissions.

Rich Paul Makes Wild Claim About His Basketball Skills

Away from their relationship, Paul has been talking a big game about his basketball skills. “I would be one of the best shooters in the league. Me, Dame, Steph, Klay. If we’re just talking shooting, this is the class I’m in. Trae, Darius Garland. I’m talking about guys who shoot the three really well,” Paul said. However, host Shannon Sharpe was absolutely blown away by the braggadocious claim of his guest. “You gotta drink so more because you’re too sober to be saying what you saying right now,” Sharpe quipped.

Paul, who represents some of the biggest names in the NBA, is not one who is often seen on the court. The man hasn’t even appeared in an NBA All-Star Celebrity Game. Therefore, it’s nearly impossible to tell just how good his three-point shot is. However, he and Sharpe did say “bet” during their interview. However, maybe someday we’ll find out if Paul’s claims are cap or not.

Adele Claims To Be Married To Rich Paul Again During A Recent Comedy Show

One of the biggest and most beloved pop and soul stars of this generation, Adele is always someone who loves to tease her fans. It is an endearing part of her personality and a lot of people have supported her throughout her career. She is also an inspiring figure, especially after her incredible weight loss journey. Adele is a role model for many young women. It makes sense why she is currently coupled up with maybe the top sports agent in the world, Rich Paul. A Cleveland, Ohio native through and through, he adopted the blue-collar mentality as a young man and now runs one of the most successful sports agencies, that being Klutch Sports.

These two successful stars have been together for about two years and have constantly hinted at engagement and marriage. Rich Paul left it up to everyone’s imagination after an interview back in September with CBS Mornings. Adele also did it at a recent show of hers. Now, we have another nugget that this could happen any day now.

According to Economic Times and Jasmine Brand, she was in attendance at one of her close friend’s comedy shows in Los Angeles. Alan Carr is his name, and he also hails from the UK. What got people buzzing at the show was this question posed. Carr asked if anyone had said “I do” lately, and Adele shouted out that she had done just that. Deuxmoi shared some submissions of people who were also at the event and they detailed that part of the show. On face value, this seems fishy. Especially because Adele was at the relatively private show of a dear friend. There is certainly a chance that these two planned this portion of the show ahead of time to get people riled up about her relationship with Paul. This is all speculation of course, but it could be something to keep in mind.

Rich Paul made some wild claims during his appearance on Club Shay Shay. “I would be one of the best shooters in the league. Me, Dame, Steph, Klay. If we’re just talking shooting, this is the class I’m in. Trae, Darius Garland. I’m talking about guys who shoot the three really well,” Paul said. Elsewhere, Rich Paul came to the defense of client Anthony Davis in recent weeks. “Shout-out to my man Rich Paul. Whoever is Rich Paul’s clients, you guys should feel very lucky. He doesn’t let nothing slide. He’s very passionate about his clients. He’ll call and try to check you about his clients. He texted me like, ‘Y’all kinda went hard on Anthony Davis the other day.’ Just in case y’all missed the episode, there was a statement where LeBron said, ‘This is the year they want to hand the team over to Anthony Davis.’ And we up here and we made a little fun of Anthony Davis,” Cam’ron said on a recent episode of It Is What It Is.

However, Cam’ron didn’t entirely offer a mea culpa, defending his comments as well. “I texted Rich Paul back that’s my man you know we Ohio and all that. I texted him back, ‘Yo Rich listen, maybe I’m on the outside looking in, but I thought that was the whole reason he left New Orleans anyway. He got to the Lakers and I thought that was LeBron saying, ‘Okay cool, I got somebody young on the team,’” the Dipset rapper added. “I can defer to him and this is a four-year project that hasn’t taken the team over and I relayed that to Rich. I thought that was the plan from the jump to give him the team and LeBron is about to be 39 and we still have to go about LeBron giving him the team. LeBron been ready to defer and give him the team,” Cam’ron argued.

Elsewhere, Paul went in on the phrase “max contract” while speaking with JJ Redick. “It’s your approach, your play, then your professionalism. That equals your power. Because if I have a guy whose approach is right, is playing at that level, and is a professional, I’ve got all the power in the world. And the owners, they’re going to respect and accept and enhance that power. Very few guys in the league actually has the power to move the needle and have an impact on things. But because you may be making max money, you feel like you do, and we all know that is not true. That’s why I hate that word, max. Because it gives you this entitlement, and that’s where you lose it all,” Paul said in a teaser posted to social media.

In short – Paul doesn’t like players conflating “max contract” with “league power player”. Elsewhere in the teaser, Paul says there are only 9 or 10 players in the entire league with any sort of power. He means your LeBrons, your Giannises. The sort of player who can demand how, where, and for how much they play almost without restriction. Just because you make the maximum amount of money a team can offer you doesn’t mean that you get to dictate the terms of your employment carte blanche.

Harden Skips Sixers Practice

Speaking of someone who doesn’t have much power in the league, James Harden missed team practice this week. Shams Charania broke the news, stating that Harden was not at practice Wednesday. Furthermore, Charania noted that Harden had not been with the team since Sunday. Harden had already been training away from the main team group and had not attended preseason games. However, missing practice entirely is a new level of escalation. The news comes days after it was reported that the Sixers are once again no longer engaging with the Clippers and fully intend for Harden to start the season in Philly.

The missing of practice is something that experts have been surprised hasn’t happened sooner with Harden. The veteran has something of a reputation for being disruptive during offseason activities when he is trying to force a trade. However, it is believed that rumors of renewed discussions between the Sixers and Clippers compelled Harden to put in a few weeks of good behavior.

Rich Paul Hints That He And Adele Are Headed Towards Engagement: “You Can Say Whatever You Want”

The top-flight sports agent, Rich Paul, is still going strong with superstar singer Adele. It was around two years ago that the two showed their interest in each other and they seem to be happier than ever. Just a few weeks ago, during one of the pop starlet’s performances in Las Vegas, a female fan wanted to propose to her. Unfortunately for her, she is apparently spoken for. Adele replied, “You can’t marry me. I’m straight, my love, and my husband’s here tonight.” This was a very hilarious but stunning response and it had fans speculating if the couple tied the knot.

Rich Paul is now egging this on even further after a recent interview with CBS Mornings. According to Billboard, the founder of Klutch Sports Group, joined the show to talk about a few topics. Paul was invited on because his new memoir, Lucky Me is out now. Amazon’s description of the book says, “[Paul] looks back with wit and insight, drawing out the lessons he learned at every stage—about business, people, and the values that lead to success. It’s the inspiring story of the luck that’s all around us, if we know where to look.” Apparently Paul knew where to look when it came to choosing his person.

He replied simply and vaguely, “you can say whatever you want.” This is certainly interesting to hear and we can only imagine that both of them have at least considered the thought of engagement. If you have listened to Paul speak, you know that he has an incredible mind for business. Overall, he knows how to protect his players and put them in positions to succeed. Last night, Paul was profiled by 60 Minutes and as you can imagine, LeBron was very excited about this. “I hope everyone watches 60 Minutes tonight to see the story about my brother Rich Paul and his new book “Lucky Me”. Rich changed the game and now he’s giving everyone an education about who we are and where we come from,” LeBron wrote. “The Midwest in the 90’s had so much impact on our culture. Amid the special, one fan on social media wrote: “What’s amazing about Lebron James is he saw what Rich Paul and Maverick Carter would become before anyone else.” LeBron was appreciative of this remark and offered a prompt reply. “Appreciate you making this point,” he said. “Everytime someone makes their success about me vs hard work and talent, it’s disrespectful to me and my brothers. But, the real ones know.” Needless to say, LeBron wants his friends to get the same respect as himself. He understands that having a solid team around you is what leads to great success.

LeBron James Dazzled By Adele

LeBron James has a huge season of NBA basketball ahead of him. Overall, the Los Angeles Lakers are a team with some hefty expectations. They have LeBron and Anthony Davis at the helm, with a ton of depth behind them. Although they probably won’t win a title, they will at least be playoff-bound. Many are excited to see how LeBron will come out in his 21st season, especially with how hard he has been working. He has an opportunity to extend all of his records, and fans cannot wait to see it.

However, prior to getting back on the court for training camp, LeBron has some other business to attend to. For instance, over the weekend, he was in Las Vegas where he got to see a performance from none other than Adele. Of course, his agent Rich Paul is currently dating Adele, and there are rumors that the two are married. Needless to say, it makes sense that he would want to support someone who is now in his inner-circle, even if by association.

As you can imagine, LeBron James was more than impressed by the performance he got to witness. He took to Instagram following the show, and he offered up some truly spectacular words about Adele and her commanding vocal chops. “You’re ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE @adele!! Simple as that!” LeBron wrote. “Pleasure witnessing it live in the flesh! Never Ever to forget! RARE!!! A breath of fresh air, a striking bolt of light and a unfazed humble yet super confident aura!! Continue love and blessings!!”

Ultimately, it was a great evening for LeBron, and we’re sure he will go see her again at some point. However, first, he has to take care of business in Los Angeles.
