A photo of Kanye West posing with Lucian Grainge is circulating on social media after the rapper labeled the Universal Music Group CEO Drake’s “rich baby daddy.” In the picture, he rocks a red “Make America Great Again” hat. He ranted about his relationship with Drake during an interview with Justin Laboy on his The Download podcast over the weekend.

When Elliott Wilson shared the picture on Twitter, on Monday, fans still came to Kanye’s defense, despite the apparent hypocrisy. “Ye was in the Sunken Place. Now he’s out,” one user wrote. Another added: “Drake against a whole gauntlet of foes. Hard to root against the lone wolf.”

As for Kanye’s previous comments, he claimed: “Drake has a rich baby daddy, named Lucian [Grainge] and Universal. He’s like, ‘My daddy got it. My daddy control the spins. My daddy got the DSPs.’ Drake has a rich baby daddy named Lucian.” From there, he claimed Grainge works for “people who control the banks in Africa.” Ye also references Grainge in the lyrics to his new remix of Metro Boomin and Future’s “Like That.” He raps: “Pluto sent the drones, it hit like Metro beats/ It’s a wrap for n**gas, where’s Lucian? Kanye West Claims To Reveal Drake’s “Rich Baby Daddy”

Kanye West says that Lucian Grainge, the CEO of Universal Music Group since 2010, is Drake’s “rich baby daddy.” He made the accusation during an interview with Justin Laboy on The Download podcast over the weekend, during which he also premiered a remix of Metro Boomin and Future’s “Like That.” One of Drake’s singles from his album, For All the Dogs, is titled “Rich Baby Daddy.”

“Drake has a rich baby daddy, named Lucian [Grainge] and Universal,” Ye claimed. “He’s like, ‘My daddy got it. My daddy control the spins. My daddy got the DSPs. Drake has a rich baby daddy named Lucian.” From there, he claimed Grainge works for “people who control the banks in Africa.” West also remarked that the “elimination of Drake” is energizing himself and others.

Before West’s diss, Drake fired back against Future, Metro Boomin, Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, and several others who have taken aim at him with the track, “Push Ups.” After a week went by without a response from Lamar, he released “Taylor Made Freestyle” as well. Joe Budden Believes Drake Is Secretly ‘Getting Paid’ To Promote Sexyy Red And Doubts The Duo’s Friendship

Despite his ongoing spats, a public co-sign from Drake can catapult any rising musician to mainstream success.

The “You Broke My Heart” rapper’s latest muse, Sexyy Red, has undoubtedly seen a boom in her career. Their time on the road, recorded collaboration (“Rich Baby Daddy“), and flirty energy have made them a fun fixture for music fans. However, Joe Budden doesn’t believe any of it.

On March 28, the podcaster told his co-hosts that he believes Drake is secretly “getting paid to promote Sexyy Red.” Budden’s criticism didn’t stop there. He went on to say that he also doubts the fawned-over friendship presented by the entertainers online.

Although another member of the panel quickly agreed. Trevor “Queenzflip” Robinson pushed back. “Quick, real, quick, real quick, you said this ‘paid on somebody’s deal,’” he said. “Is this confirmed, or is this just some inside sh*t that you are saying?”

Budden quickly snapped: “Oh, you think [Drake] just likes being around Sexyy Red?”

The truth is yet to be determined. But given the extravagant gifts, including cash and lavish purses, Drake gave to Sexyy Red and his appearance in her recent “Get It Sexyy,” they seem to be fine in their friendship.

Drake is going through a lot right now. Overall, this is mostly due to the fact that he is being attacked by many of his peers. Kendrick Lamar, Metro Boomin, Future, and even Rick Ross are coming after him. However, it is Kendrick’s diss that people are talking the most about. Some are wondering if Drizzy is going to respond. Based on some of the things he said over the weekend, it appears as though Drake is ducking the smoke, at least for now. Of course, this could certainly change especially with how fast he is at turning around diss tracks.

Back in 2023, Drake, Sexyy Red, and SZA all joined forces for the Canadian rapper’s For All The Dogs track “Rich Baby Daddy.” Most recently, a new music video for the song dropped, which has an interesting premise. In it, Drake and Sexyy Red play a suburban couple who are expecting a child together — and it perfectly works out, as Sexyy Red was actually pregnant when filming the video.

Reminiscent of a home video recording, he then films as Sexyy Red goes into labor (in real life, perhaps) which leads to a tense conversation between the two. “Put the camera down!” she shouts, halfway through the music video, after telling him her water broke. “Are you f*cking dumb? Can you stop,” SZA adds.

Because of the video’s realistic-seeming content, some might be wondering if Drake is really the father. Here’s what to know.

Is Drake Sexyy Red’s Baby Daddy?

Drake is… not the father! Although Sexyy Red has a song called “Bow Bow Bow (F My Baby Dad),” she was not referring to Drake. She gave birth to her second child, which she announced through an Instagram post. “Me waitin to get discharged from the hospital so I can hit da block wit da guys,” she captioned at the time.
