T.I. Gives Us The First Look At Last Album With Tropical Single “VACAY” Featuring Kamo Mphela

Soon, we are going to missing one of the true pioneers of the hip-hop genre. While he might not have the global impact of Tupac, Eminem, or Jay-Z, T.I. is one of the leaders of the trap subgenre. We are in this somber mood because he recently went on the We In Miami podcast announcing his retirement from rap. Multiple reports, including AllHipHop, broke the news on October 18.

T.I. said, “It’s time to evolve beyond a career as a rapper. There are a lot more people who are carrying the torch and pushing the culture forward.” He is also moving on because he wants to pursue other avenues, especially in the business world. We said it once and we will say it again. If this is true, we wish T.I. the best in the future when it is all set and done.

When you start playin’ games, I’m the cheat code
She said I give you one shot, that’s a free throw
And if you make that, then you can keep goin’

Blueface Is Supposedly Done Making Music: “I Retired I’m The Label Now”

Just last night (October 30) we reported that Blueface wants to add Lil Mabu’s career to his resume. This is because of a recent tweet that calls out the New York rapper’s relationship issues with Chrisean Rock. It seems the new couple is having some problems behind the scenes. Because of this, the “Thotiana” hitmaker had a question for him. “Make sure y’all add lil mabu career to my resume. [Wh]y is your girl texting me every day bro…what she waiting on? …shambles.” As a result of all of this attention Mabu is getting from being with Chrisean, Blueface thinks that he needs to add his career to his resume.

The Los Angeles rapper’s tweets went beyond that and one of them caught some people’s attention. If you take a look below, Blueface says that he is done rapping. In fact, it seems like he is suggesting he has been done for a minute now. “I don’t rap I retired I’m the label now.” Even though he has done some recent features and put out some singles last month, it appears he is hanging it up.

Blueface Is Done Making Music

In terms of the label part of the tweet, Blueface is referring to his MILF Music label he began back in June of this year. According to XXL, he is only signing women that have kids. “I’m only signing women with children. Your BD [baby daddy] is your only reference that I can use. If he don’t vouch for you, I ain’t f***ing with you. You don’t have to be a rapper. I just need to see star quality in you.” According to Blueface, the rappers on the label include Chrisean, his fiancée, Jaidyn Alexis, Jay Cinco, X.o Rico, and Lil Mabu.

What are your initial thoughts on Blueface saying he is retiring from rap? Do you actually believe him or do you think this is a front? If he is telling the truth how long do you believe this will last? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. Elisabeth Ovesen Talks Retiring Karrine Steffans, Superhead Nicknames, And Giving Up Salacious Past

Elisabeth Ovesen, better known as Karrine Steffans, recently opened up about retiring that persona, also called “Superhead.” Moreover, she spoke to comedian Sam Jay about fame, living two different lives, and what it taught her about her own identity. For those of you who don’t know, Ovesen (or Steffans) made a name for herself with her Vixen series of books. In them, she discussed topics of sexual exploitation, relationships, love, lust, and many more through a particularly hip-hop-centric lens. That was the industry in which she made it big. Upon her introduction in 2005, she opened broad cultural conversations on women’s sexual empowerment and agency.

“What’s so funny is that when a woman has sexual autonomy, people assume she’s being used,” Ovesen remarked. “Seeing a woman play a man’s game and win at it was very disturbing to people. I live in it, so I create a persona for that perception to protect who I am as a person. Meanwhile, I’m in bed at 9, I’m watching The Golden Girls… I’m living my life the way I live my life, which is not the way my persona lives her life.

Elsewhere in the interview, she said that publishers quickly wanted her to keep cranking out New York Times best-sellers. “Publishers did not want me to stop,” the 44-year-old explained. “So they kept asking me to write the same book over and over again. I started a persona that nobody wanted me to finish. She had to keep going. By the time I got to my mid-thirties, I was like, ‘Guys, I’ve grown and my son is getting older. I can’t continue to write this way.’ So there was a time where the persona and the person went through a little war. The person was growing, and the person was learning, and the person was evolving. But the persona can’t.”

Also, she said that retiring her pen name was a “difficult choice to make too. To get rid of Karrine was very difficult because she was my armor,” she explained. Overall, hopefully this decision bodes well for Ovesen as she reflects on her life and moves forward to new and bright things. Stay up to date on HNHH for the latest news on Elisabeth Ovesen, Karrine Steffans, and Superhead.
