Yung Miami Laughs Off People Hating On Her Rap Style

The City Girl hasn’t caught much of a break these days, but she continues to move forward with confidence. Yung Miami recently responded to people on Twitter criticizing her rap performance on the remix of Lola Brooke’s “Don’t Play With It.” Moreover, she hopped on Brooke’s track alongside Latto and delivered what many fans considered to be either heat or a heap of mediocrity. For example, one user tweeted at her with, “Don’t even say that you literally TOP 10 best female rappers out rn.” For this, and a few other comments, the 29-year-old had some confident and unfazed responses.

“Don’t know bout the best and all that but I be popping my s**t,” she replied to the comment above. Furthermore, she actually held back on talking placements and lists and focused on what she really cares about: giving her best performance possible and making something she’s proud of. In fact, that was the underlying sentiment of a lot of her tweets. “I know it’s popular to say I can’t rap but I ate that verse,” she said in a separate tweet with heart-surrounded smiley face emojis. “DONT PLAY WITH IT REMIX OUT NOW!!!”

Yung Miami Unfazed By People Dissing Her Rap Style

Also, she continued her responses, even to people that had some slight praise and undercut it with a jab. “I love the confidence,” one tweeter began, “but it sound like you be having a lot of spit in your mouth. Either that or your tongue just BIG AF.” To that, Caresha responded with, “That’s my sound get used to it b***h.” Unfortunately, the “Act Up” collaborator also faced a lot of clowning for her performance on BMF. While it certainly isn’t a mind-blowing performance by any means, it’s still great to see someone primarily dedicated to music venture into other lanes. The nicest sentiment online was along the lines of “at least she tried,” which undercuts how much fun she clearly had with it.

However, her confidence clearly wasn’t enough to lessen the blow, as she went at people online and launched a lot of frustrated statements in response to hate. Still, all that said, she did get a notable defense from Method Man, who encouraged Miami to keep her head up. With that in mind, a word of encouragement can drown out thousands of naysayers, and it helps that he’s also a rap vet venturing into TV. Regardless, check out her responses and a clip of the remix above and return to HNHH for the latest on Yung Miami.

Coi Leray & David Guetta Collide On “Players (Remix)”

Coi Leray isn’t letting her foot off the gas when it comes to her hit record, “Players” and this week, she unloaded the remix with David Guetta. As the song continues to bubble on TikTok and the radio, Coi’s continued to deliver a slew of remixes to keep the record’s momentum high. She tapped into the buzzing Jersey Club sound when she linked up with DJ Smallz 732, who breathed new life into the song. Then, she linked up with DJ Saige for another remix of the record.

Over the weekend, Coi Leray joined the roster of artists who’ve had the opportunity to have David Guetta remix the song. Guetta’s remix of the record falls in line with his signature strain of club EDM by flipping the sample of “The Message” by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. While Coi doesn’t necessarily add any new vocals, the remix could very well be the anecdote to propel the single to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Either way, Coi continues to make a strong case for her staying power.

David Guetta Electrifies Coi Leray’s “Players” On The Official Remix

The success of “Players” certainly caught many people off-guard. In the past year, the New Jersey-based rapper made a 180 in her career following the release of her debut album, Trendsetter. Despite the number of high-profile features, the album was considered a flop commercially and critically, though she evidently didn’t prevent her from returning with new heat.

“I’m 25, and sometimes you don’t know everything,” Leray told Billboard of the song’s success. “I look at constructive criticism, even in a negative way. I try to figure out how to learn from it — just taking it and bringing it back even better. You don’t know everything. I learned the power of listening is key.” Evidently, Coi Leray is evolving and taking cues from the criticism she’s faced since she came out. Check out the David Guetta remix above and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.

You can see the thong bussin’ out my tight jeans

Alex Vaughn & Ari Lennox’s New Remix Will Have You On “Demon Time”

March has been a great month so far for music lovers, with countless new hip-hop and R&B artists delivering singles and projects near-constantly. This weekend in particular saw some exciting arrivals for the latter genre, such as Usher’s “GLU” and Tamar Braxton’s “Changed.” Additionally, Alex Vaughn came through with The Hurtbook (Homegirl Pack), an updated version of her featureless project from last fall.

Rather than conquer the tracklist on her own this time around, the vocalist connected with several talented female starlets. Her LVRN labelmate Summer Walker appears on “So Be It – Remix,” while Muni Long joined her for the uber-catchy “IYKYK.” Elsewhere, Washington, D.C. native Ari Lennox put her vocals to work on the “Demon Time – Remix,” which finds both singers sharing their salacious thoughts over a beat that will make you wish you were bumping and grinding with your boo.

Ari Lennox Reimagines Alex Vaughn’s “Demon Time” with Sultry New Lyrics

“Don’t fight what you feelin’, babe / No need for you to hesitate,” Vaughn tempts her potential lover on the pre-chorus. “It’s taboo the things you make me say / I’m no psychic but I know what you need.” Afterward, she continues to sing about their sex game being “criminal,” ultimately causing her to “overflow.”

For Lennox’s part, she too didn’t hold back on bringing the sex appeal to the collaboration. “Appetite / Got an appetite for this jaguar / Climb that tree tonight,” she croons in metaphors. “Talking to some dudes, but I’m f*ckin’ you / Satisfied.” While she’s admitted to having issues with finding love in real life, in her dreams, the Dreamville leading lady clearly has some wild fantasies she’s hoping to indulge in ASAP.

I’m alone tonight, I’m on demon time
And you’re on my mind
Got an attitude but you still came through

Diddy Hops On Metro Boomin’s “Creepin” Ft. 21 Savage & The Weeknd For The Official Remix

Diddy’s return to music appears to be imminent, especially now that he’s joined Metro Boomin for the official remix to “Creepin’.” Over the past few years, Diddy’s expressed a strong desire to get back to his R&B roots. He launched a record label, Love Records, and delivered a handful of singles, but it seems likely that we’ll see him deliver some bars on his next project, too. This week, he returned to the fold as he gave Metro a verse for his latest hit record which also includes The Weeknd and 21 Savage.

It’s a full circle moment as Metro Boomin sampled Mario Winans “I Don’t Wanna Know” for the remix, which Diddy features on. This time, he taps into Puffy Daddy with ad-libs that scatter across the sample before eventually laying down a verse of his own. Diddy breathes his billionaire status throughout the record with vivid reflections of yacht sailing with City Girls. Though The Weeknd and 21 Savage’s verses remain the same, Diddy spruces up the record with his presence.

Metro Boomin Calls Diddy For The Remix

Metro Boomin’s latest single has already seen incredible success before the remix with Diddy. As Heroes & Villains debuted at the top of the Billboard 200, “Creepin” has had a strong presence in the top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song peaked at #3 on the chart while maintaining its spot within the top 10 since its release. Perhaps Metro Boomin’s inclusion of Diddy will help the song finally hit that top spot.

Besides his appearance on Metro’s hit record, Diddy has some major plans in the works. As Paramount Global looks to sell BET, reports emerged of Puffy’s interest in buying the network. He later confirmed the news in a tweet, explaining that he’d like to buy BET to begin building a “Black-owned global media powerhouse,” on top of Revolt TV. We’ll keep you posted on any more information on that. For now, check out Metro Boomin’s “Creepin” remix with Diddy, 21 Savage, and The Weeknd above.

Quotable Lyrics

Coi Leray Helps Big Boss Vette Explain How “Pretty Girls Walk” In New Remix Single

St. Louis MC Big Boss Vette just tapped Coi Leray for a remix of her single “Pretty Girls Walk.” Moreover, it’s a creative and head-bobbing fusion of more modern percussion styles with a classic bassline that harkens back to the old days. Also, the single dropped early after various teases and social media promotions, so fans were ready for the heat. For those out there looking for a new hype track to add to their playlist, this song has a lot of braggadocious energy to it.

Furthermore, a lot of the track’s groove and appeal comes down to its incredibly catchy bass melody. In terms of the flows and the single’s general swing, it might remind listeners of classic tracks like Eazy-E’s “Boyz-N-The-Hood.” Certainly, Leray opens her verse with a similar cadence, swagger, and laidback confidence. Beyond its rhythm section, with sharp drums and additional synthetic bass, there aren’t many more melodic elements in this cut. However, they’re not necessary, as the flows and bounce are enough to keep listeners’ attention.

Big Boss Vette & Coi Leray’s “Pretty Girls Walk (Remix)”

Also, it’s a pretty sweet callback to more classic hip-hop sounds, which Coi in particular has no shortage of experience honoring. She recently sampled the classic hip-hop cut “The Message” from Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five for her track “Players.” In fact, she even got a lot of recognition from Flash himself, which is a generational crossover to shut down any haters. However, Vette matches that flow with even more aggression and energy, so her principal role in the song doesn’t go unnoticed.

Regardless, what did you think of Big Boss Vette and Coi Leray’s newest track, a remix of the former’s “Pretty Girls Walk”? However you feel, let us know in the comments and check out some standout bars from it down below. Also, if you haven’t heard it yet, spin the song on YouTube above or your preferred streaming service. As always, log back into HNHH for the latest great music of the week, even outside of new music Fridays.

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Taps Mariah The Scientist For “Secrets” Remix

New music is coming in hot on this good Friday. The latest release comes from Highbridge’s own A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, who teams up with Mariah The Scientist for the remix to his throwback “Secrets.” The track comes to the surprise of some, seeing he’s released not one, but two projects since the original was featured on 2020’s Artist 2.0’s deluxe version. Not for TikTok users, however, as they are responsible for it’s resurgence. According to stats on the ever-popular clock app, the song has been used over 24,000 times as of writing.

The Bronx rapper has even gone on to upload a live performance of the track a couple of days ago. One commenter wrote “So glad that this song is finally getting the love it deserves. Nonetheless, it’s safe to say the new version does not disappoint. On the “Secrets” remix, A Boogie recites the same verse chorus as its predecessor, boasting about his success and the groupies that come with it. The first track didn’t have a second verse, which is where Mariah The Scientist comes in. Young Thug’s rumored boo slides in after the second chorus with some salacious bars of her own.

TikTok Users May Be To Thank For The A Boogie With The Hoodie Remix

The “Bout Mine” vocalist makes the rules clear to her fling on the “Secrets” remake. She implies she’s ready to get down and dirty, but he must keep his mouth closed. Mariah The Scientist sings “Meet me in the back, take me through the alley / Know you want a bad girl, know you want a savage / Know that I can be that, you can’t believe that /You could be a blind man, even you could see that.” Some A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie fans aren’t fond of the R&B singer’s addition, but she seems to be taking it with grace. Mariah The Scientist—who is no stranger to backlash—has shown support for the song throughout the day on her Instagram Stories.

Quotable Lyrics

Baby, from my observations
You think I’m your lady, all of those expectations
But that just ain’t the way it goes
And I just want you out them clothes tonight
I promise to take it slow
You can even take control this time
If you can keep your mouth closed

The Weeknd Taps Ariana Grande For “Die For You” Remix

The Weeknd will finally close out the Dawn FM chapter of his career tomorrow when HBO debuts his highly-anticipated televised LA concert, Live At The SoFi. Dawn FM is one of his most ambitious projects to date, fleshed out by a tight group of collaborators. Tyler, The Creator and Lil Wayne were the only two credited on the tracklist while Summer Walker jumped on the “Best Friends” remix. For the most part, The Weeknd largely worked alongside electronic producers like Calvin Harris and Swedish House Mafia.

Unfortunately, fans were hoping that they’d see Ariana Grande and The Weeknd connect, once again. The two built a strong rapport over the years with records like “Love Me Harder” off of Ariana Grande’s debut album, My Everything. Fans immediately praised the chemistry but the next time they worked together would be six years later on Positions standout, “Off The Table.” The two don’t collaborate as much as fans hoped. Whenever they do link up, it’s certainly magic.

The Weeknd Revisits “Starboy” Era With Ariana Grande On “Die For You (Remix)”

Though Ariana Grande is busy working on WIcked!, she put in some time to come through for a new remix for a friend. This week, The Weeknd revisits Starboy with the official remix of “Die For You” alongside Ariana Grande. Two years after they joined forces on “Save Your Tears (Remix),” they’ve reunited to revisit the classic record off of the 2016 album.

Prior to its release, Grande hinted at an upcoming collab with The Weeknd in an Instagram video. She previewed her verse as she filmed herself recording for the remix. “Wrote and recorded a verse for my friend after a 14-hour day on set,” wrote Grande. “This certain exception had to be made…” Shortly after, The Weeknd reposted the clip before formally announcing the single a day later Peep the latest collaboration from Ariana Grande and The Weeknd above and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.

Quotable Lyrics
