Lil Baby Breaks His Silence On Kendrick Lamar Name-Dropping Him On “Not Like Us”

Before his two 2025 albums, Lil Baby just underwent a big press run thanks to two revealing and compelling conversations. Specifically, one was with Lil Yachty on his A Safe Place podcast, and the other was with Charlamagne Tha God. As for the latter sit-down, The Breakfast Club‘s cohost asked the Atlanta rapper about Kendrick Lamar name-dropping him on his Drake diss “Not Like Us,” as Baby was one of a few Atlanta MCs that he accused Drizzy of “colonizing.”

“I ain’t really into, like, that side of hip-hop,” Lil Baby revealed concerning Kendrick Lamar’s
“Not Like Us” name-drop. “So I don’t really… You know. [Me and Drake have a] great relationship. Great relationship. It’s just with any situation, like, if you and him was arguing, why the hell you gon’ say me, you know? I don’t be having nothing to do with it. […] To me, like, rap and s**t be my work. It’s, like, I don’t want that type of s**t at work. Even with you saying, like, ‘What’s your relationship with Gunna?’ I ain’t in it for that type of s**t, you know what I’m saying? I ain’t on that.”

Lil Baby Reacts To Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” Name-Drop

Furthermore, this is a particularly interesting answer because he doesn’t really take a side between Kendrick Lamar and Drake, although he mentions his great relationship with the latter. Moreover, it seems like Lil Baby really wants nothing to do with that battle, as it’s none of his business and he didn’t really ask for any smoke. But not everything that he discussed during this current press run has to do with hip-hop fare, as he also opened up to Lil Yachty about balancing the relationship between his children and the Internet.

Meanwhile, all these remarks from Lil Baby provide a lot of interesting context for his upcoming albums, and we wonder if these projects will expand on these ideas in any significant way. A lot happened around his name recently, whether that’s Young Thug’s freedom, their strong bond before and afterwards, and how that relates to Gunna beef speculation. We’ll see how all these narratives evolve and if any Atlanta artist will take a strong stance on “Not Like Us.”

50 Cent Is A Huge Fan Of Kanye West’s Deposition Antics

Thanks to the A&E show Interrogation Raw: Celebrity Under Oath, we got some old footage of Kanye West attending a deposition over a 2020 lawsuit concerning a tech firm’s allegedly breached agreement over e-commerce platforms. It was a wild ride, with Ye putting on a mask at one point and telling an attorney, “You don’t have the right to see my face.” He previously answered a request to stop using his phone my saying, “Due to my mental geniusness, in order to focus on this bulls**t, I need to be on a phone,” and even popped off on the Zoom call when asked about his room. All of this made 50 Cent bring out the popcorn.

“Wait this is the best s**t I have seen, LOL, in the deposition, WTF going on here! LMAO,” the G-Unit mogul captioned an Instagram post that shared the Kanye West deposition. It seems like 50 Cent found the antics quite amusing, which is funny because he probably knows a thing or two about the Chicago artist’s temper. He’s spoken on the Yeezy creative various times before, including that time early in 2023 in which Ye’s lawyers dropped him.

50 Cent Reacts To Kanye West Deposition

However, 50 Cent’s reaction wasn’t the only recent reflection on Kanye West in the hip-hop world, as Fat Joe recently recalled how their collab “Pride N Joy” came together. “He was like, ‘Yo, I want to do something to it, let’s work together,’” Joey Crack remarked. “At the time, Kanye could not lose. […] He made me do my verses — same verse, but say it over and over — maybe 300 times. My guys wanted to beat him up. They was, like, ‘Yo, come on, man f**k out of here with this.’ He would be, like, ‘cul-der-sac.’ He would leave. […] He’d come back. ‘Cul-der-sac.’ […] I loved the finished product. I love how my verses came out.”

Meanwhile, beyond Kanye West’s antics, 50 Cent is also busy exposing other hip-hop figures for some alleged frights. He shared a video of Benzino seemingly suffered a manic episode, although the Source executive later claimed that this was just a rehearsal for a movie and not a real self-harm attempt.

Sexyy Red Reacts To Owen Wilson Looking Shocked At Her Rolling Loud Performance

Sexyy Red has left many mouths agape since her rise to superstardom, but perhaps none have been funnier than Owen Wilson’s at Rolling Loud Miami’s tenth anniversary iteration this past weekend. Moreover, a clip went viral on social media of him staring at the screen projecting her during her performance, looking like he was frozen in time. It’s a hilarious video, and one that the St. Louis femcee couldn’t help but laugh at, too. “Dats my baby Owen [two kissing cats emojis],” she quote-tweeted the visual. It seems like Sexyy had a great time at the festival, running through her established bangers and through newer hits such as her Tyler, The Creator, GloRilla, and Lil Wayne collab “Sticky” off of Tyler’s CHROMAKOPIA.

But Sexyy Red wasn’t the only one who had a ball at Rolling Loud Miami, as Owen Wilson was up to a lot. He will star in an upcoming comedy film about the festival alongside Matt Rife, which is why he was there over the weekend to shoot some stuff and take in the vibes. An actor always does their research!

Sexyy Red Shouts Out Owen Wilson

Not only that, but he even got onstage with Travis Scott to prelude “FE!N” and see that sea of moshpit enthusiasts from a bird’s eye view. Well, a bird on a huge stage, anyway. As for Sexyy Red, 2024 was a pretty solid follow-up year to her breakout 2023, including a new project, plenty of collabs, big singles, and much more. Everybody who called this some simple 15 minutes of fame could not have been more wrong, and it’s clear that she can still rock a crowd with ease. It’s got us looking forward to 2025, and hopefully a more pronounced and exciting artistic redirection that still keeps the roots healthy.

Meanwhile, Owen Wilson might want to stray away from Sexyy Red if he’s looking for relationship advice. She and Summer Walker recently caught some flack for advising a fan to stay with a partner even though they cheated on her twice. Jokes aside, it’s always a treat to see pop culture crossovers that would never, ever appear on a Bingo card.

50 Cent Confronts Andrew Schulz For Making Insensitive Kendrick Lamar Jokes

Andrew Schulz somehow became a key narrative of Kendrick Lamar’s GNX, or at least, that’s what his reaction to a presumed diss on “wacced out murals” became. Moreover, for those unaware, the comedian joked on his Flagrant podcast about “making love” to Kendrick and that there was nothing the Compton rapper could do to stop it. The show’s most recent guest was 50 Cent, who chose to ask Schulz about these comments. The New York stand-up comic joked that his response was taken too aggressively, whereas 50 faked an apology to the camera for “misinterpreting” what Schulz had said before.

“I’m a fan of your work. But I don’t understand what got into you that made you say you was going to f**k Kendrick,” 50 Cent told Andrew Schulz about the Kendrick Lamar situation. “[…] Look, I follow comedic culture. I watch the comedians. I enjoy them on another level. What I appreciate about it is they are invincible. When I watch them, I look and I go, ‘There’s no point that you could do something that actually damages what they developed, what they built.’ Like, Katt Williams can fight a 15-year-old kid that’s his height. And not do so well, right? […] But it does no damage to Katt Williams, he’s still that guy.

50 Cent Asks Andrew Schulz About Kendrick Lamar Jokes

“I was watching Jamie Foxx’s new piece, right?” 50 Cent continued his comments about Andrew Schulz and Kendrick Lamar. “And he mentioned Katt in it. To me, it meant that he had to be relevant enough for Jamie to include him. And I don’t know, like, I want to laugh. If Andrew’s going to do something, my mind is prepared, I’m conditioned to laugh. I’m waiting for the punchline. It’s going to come. And I’m usually never let down. Jamie’s show, that s**t put me on a rollercoaster. He went to a place that I was, like, ‘Oh… Man.’ Like, my eyes was emotional.”

With all this in mind, we doubt we will hear the end of the Andrew Schulz and Kendrick Lamar saga anytime soon. Whether it’s 50 Cent giving another take or the rest of the hip-hop world debating it and reacting to it, it makes for a whole lot of stand-up material.

Dr Umar Johnson Is Outraged By Jay-Z Allegations And Cautions His Accuser

Hip-hop culture isn’t the only group going wild over the allegations against Jay-Z, as an anonymous woman accused both him and Diddy of sexually assaulting her at a 2000 VMAs after party when she was just 13 years old. This proved to be a controversial situation not only because of the weight of these claims, but also due to folks questioning the Jane Doe’s story and pointing out supposed holes in her recollections. Dr Umar Johnson is the latest celebrity to speak out about this, and he took a pretty nuanced stance all things considered. He hopes the victim finds justice if she’s innocent, but if she’s fabricating this, he thinks that she might’ve prompted her own undoing by requesting a jury trial that could reveal if she’s lying or not.

“Now, in the civil suit paperwork, according to Tony Buzbee, what he read, her attorney based in Houston, Texas,” Dr. Umar Johnson began regarding the Jay-Z situation. “According to the civil suit, she demands a jury trial. That really caught me. I was surprised at that. She’s demanding a jury trial. Why am I surprised? Because if she’s demanding a jury trial, she’s going to have to take the stand. She has to testify!”

Furthermore, Dr. Umar Johnson explained that Jay-Z and Diddy can plead their Fifth Amendment rights to refuse to testify, since they are the ones whom the plaintiff accused. However, as for the accuser herself, her reported desire for a jury trial means that she cannot plead the Fifth and will most likely have to testify if it goes to a jury trial. While he questioned this move, he also made it clear that he doesn’t know whether she or Hov are lying or not, and that he is praying that she gets all that she wants if she really suffered this abhorrent event.

Then, Dr. Umar Johnson claimed that racism is what caused the court to deny Diddy’s bail for a third time. His argument pointed to Vince McMahon, whom authorities still haven’t arrested, as an example with similar allegations of this presumed double standard. Dr. Umar also posited that this is a “loud message” to Black celebrities such as Jay-Z that they will face a takedown if they do not comply with the industry.

DJ Akademiks Manages To Blame Kendrick Lamar For The Rape Allegation Against Jay-Z

DJ Akademiks is going after everybody in his latest rant, and unsurprisingly, Kendrick Lamar is a part of it. The hip-hop media pundit went on livestream recently to discuss the recent bombshell allegation against Jay-Z. If you are just tuning in, the New York rapper and businessman is currently being accused of rape by a Jane Doe. She claims she was just 13 at the time of this encounter and it happened at an after-party following the 2000 MTV Music Video Awards. The lawsuit was originally filed in October and only included Diddy’s name. However, on behalf of Tony Buzbee, it was adjusted and sent back in to have Hov in the suit.

Jay-Z feels it’s blatant “blackmail” and that the Houston lawyer should have filed a “criminal complaint” instead. Buzbee also spoke out and addressed the Roc Nation founder’s statement and he seems more than ready to head to court. As for how DJ Akademiks, Kendrick Lamar, and even Drake, to an extent, tie into this, let us explain. As we said, Ak broke things down on his platform and talked about how it’s going to be interesting to see how this plays out. Especially since he feels that Roc Nation as portrayed themselves as “saints.”

The Internet Can’t Believe This Kendrick Lamar Take From DJ Akademiks

If you have been following the journalist’s career, you know he’s been against Jay-Z’s entertainment company for a while. While he essentially thinks very little of this lawsuit, Akademiks is upset with one person in particular for this happening. He puts the blame on Kendrick Lamar for constantly talking about the “weird case” surrounding Drake’s affiliate, Baka Not Nice. Akademiks is also disappointed with him he thinks Lamar is endangering his contemporaries in world where allegations are running rampant.

Shockingly, Ak called out Drake a little bit too for doing the same thing during the beef. If you remember, he accused Lamar of beating on his significant other. But overall, Akademiks is placing a lot of it at Kendrick’s feet because he’s portayed himself as “Jesus” in his mind. As you could imagine, the internet was left speechless and annoyed with this take.

Slim Thug Hopes That Drake Beats UMG & Spotify In Their Legal Dispute

One of the most controversial chapters of the Kendrick Lamar and Drake battle actually has nothing to do with it. Instead, it’s about the latter filing a legal petition against Universal Music Group and Spotify. The 6ix God accused UMG (his label) and the streaming service of artificially boosting Kendrick’s “Not Like Us” diss track against Drizzy, and this move caused a firestorm within hip-hop culture and beyond. But some folks out there are all for it, such as Slim Thug.

Drake suing them people? I hope the n***a win,” Slim Thug expressed during a recent Instagram Live session. “‘Cause they say, if he sue them people, them labels gon’ have to FDCA-approve that s**t, however you say that s**t, whatever it is. So they can stop them from f***ing buying up all the playlist, the major labels. He ain’t lying, though. Drake ain’t lying. Them n***as be buying that s**t up.”

Slim Thug Speaks On Drake’s Petition

“I don’t think [that’s what the petition’s about],” Slim Thug answered when his friend asked whether Drake’s petition relates to Kendrick Lamar accusing him of inappropriate behavior with minors, and about how Drizzy’s own team probably ran numbers up artificially or benefitted from that alleged practice. “I think he’s suing Universal for running up old boy’s numbers. Yeah, I don’t know. I’m sure he know because he probably benefitted off of that s**t for so long, working with old boy. So that’s good, though, yeah, get all that s**t out the way. Let the independent n***as get back up, ’cause they got that s**t so monopolized. Yeah, I hope the n***a wins. S**t, I hope we can be independent and don’t have to deal with all of those labels buying all the playlists up. This s**t for sale. Ain’t nothing real no more. Everything is motherf***ing fake now.”

Elsewhere, Drake is also thinking about where else to get his money, as he allegedly considering buying shares in Jay-Z’s Reasonable Doubt that previously belonged to Dame Dash. So he’s not just placing all his bets on this petition. But as much as Slim Thug knows how good this specific move could be for the industry at large, it will still be a huge risk, not as simple of a solution as he assumes, and a massive backpedal from one of the industry’s most profitable leaders.

Cam’ron & Mase React To Draya Michele Eviction Drama And Rope Jalen Green Into It

New York Jets quarterback Tyrod Taylor reportedly tried to get police to evict his ex girlfriend, Draya Michele, from the Los Angeles home he bought for them. Moreover, there are a lot of conflicting claims here, primarily the idea that they had an arrangement in which Michele would rent out and eventually purchase the property. But it seems like once she started dating Houston Rockets hooper Jalen Green, Taylor changed his mind and allegedly filed an eviction lawsuit against her. However, Michele claims that he never properly served her, so she suffered a default judgement. As you can probably tell, it’s all pretty complicated right now. But Mase and Cam’ron are here to make it easy for you.

Moreover, the two addressed this situation on their sports talk show It Is What It Is, roping in the highly publicized relationship between Draya Michele and Jalen Green. Mase posited that, if Michele has a new boyfriend in Green, then he should be the one who lets her stay over, not Tyrod Taylor. Cam’ron seemed to agree, but he couldn’t help but understand why the basketball player would want to keep Michele at a distance.

Cam’ron & Mase Discuss Draya Michele Situation

Overall, they had some other jokes and assessments about the Draya Michele eviction situation, which at least did not turn out to be as controversial as other sports headlines recently. In fact, Cam’ron and Mase even took a little responsibility for LaMello Ball making a homophobic joke on air recently. “I blame myself, I really do, man,” Cam shared. “I blame the east side of Harlem. You got this in Jefferson Projects probably in 1996 when we were saying this. And before that — what the f**k? God damn, we did this a long time. To be honest with you, this is why we started saying ‘Pause.’ We used to say what Melo said, but we were like, ‘The people are sensitive, you get fined.’ And that’s why we don’t say it anymore.”

Meanwhile, Draya Michele has her own scandals to handle, and they don’t even have anything to do with Tyrod Taylor or Jalen Green. We’ll see how all these sagas continue to evolve and maybe even inform each other.

Top5 Reacts To Kendrick Lamar Performing In Canada With An Absurd Take

On June 12, Kendrick Lamar will be performing GNX in Toronto, Canada at the Rogers Centre with SZA alongside him. When that day eventually arrives, it’s going to be very interesting what sort of developments come out of that for obvious reasons. However, the juicy side stories are already rolling out today just hours after Lamar announced the Grand National Tour. Top5, a local Canadian rapper who’s been team Drake all the way, has recently reacted to this grand reveal. He’s made it abundantly clear how much he despises Lamar, and you could argue he might dislike him just as much as The Boy. His opinions on the Compton MC are almost always against the grain and this one is no different.

This Grand National trek is a stadium tour. Therefore, it’s going to require a lot of security, perhaps medical personnel, and other forms of support. It’s an essential thing for every concert venue to have, no matter how big or small the artist is. So, with that in mind, this take from Top5 will assuredly drive you nuts. He feels that he will start to have some respect for Kendrick Lamar if he doesn’t have any sort of protection.

Top5 Gets Roasted Over An Open Flame For His Kendrick Lamar Tweet

Writing on an Instagram Story post, he says, “I’ll respect him if he comes with no police escort… 🤐” The internet has been quick to point out how asinine that request is. “Bro it’s not a small show it’s a f***ing stadium🤣🤣🤣 people are so ret****d,” one X user replies. “Meanwhile drake got the Canadian military at his house😂” another points out.

At this point, it’s a little difficult to take what Top5 says seriously, especially with how much he backs Drake. Kendrick supporters also made that a point of observation in their roast session. “DIS MF AINT GON DO S*** 😭😭 & HE KNOW DRAKE NEVER GON FEAT. HIM ON A ALBUM LIKE KENDRICK DID TO HIS HOMIES.” It’s going to be a major talking point next summer and this tour date couldn’t come any sooner.

DJ Akademiks Reacts To Funkmaster Flex Backing Drake Amid UMG Legal Battle

Earlier this week, Drake decided to take legal action against Universal Music Group (UMG) over Kendrick Lamar’s hit diss track, “Not Like Us.” In a pre-action filing, he accuses the label and Spotify of manipulating streams through botting and influencers. He also alleges that UMG could have prevented the release of the song, on which Kendrick accuses him of being a sexual predator.

Unsurprisingly, this has earned big reactions from social media users and fans. While many are clowning Drake, and accusing him of being jealous of Kendrick, others believe he’s totally in the right. Some even think that Drake could end up looking like a hero for exposing alleged corruption in the music industry. This includes Funkmaster Flex, who took to X recently to share his take on the situation.

“On every big song money is spent,” he alleged. “It is what it is. So me, I kind of see a nuanced perspective. Like, did Kendrick bot? Of course, in my opinion, of course it was some botting. Is that the only reason the song was hot? F*ck no, people really like it.”
