Latto Shares Her Take On Kendrick Lamar & Drake’s Fierce Feud

It’s no secret that Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s viral beef left fans split. While many opted to pick a side in the explosive feud, others remained neutral and decided instead to weigh in on the overall impact of the lyrical battle itself. This includes Latto, who recently shared her take on it during an interview with Billboard. According to her, it was an impressive display of each artist’s skills and was positive for hip-hop as a whole.

“I ain’t going to lie: I liked it! I liked the back-and-forth, I thought it was healthy for the culture. It just felt nostalgic. I don’t think our generation has even seen a rivalry like that, I f****d with it,” she said of the battle. “I feel like it’s two n****s that’s killing this s**t and they both so talented, and they both on they high horse flexing their talent and capabilities. They both still that n****s, they both still the GOAT. That s**t fye for the culture, bruh.”

Latto’s been wrapped up in a bit of a feud herself with none other than Ice Spice, though she explained during the interview that she’s not taking it too seriously. According to her, it doesn’t seem as though the Bronx-born performer is interested in a full-fledged beef, so she’s opted to keep it light.

“If I was to do [a battle], it would have to be with somebody I feel like Imma go tit for tat with,” she claimed. “I really don’t mean it as shade. Would she even want to do that? JT Shows No Mercy To Her Hip-Hop Opps On New Mixtape “City Cinderella”

JT’s new mixtape City Cinderella is a pretty explosive affair, due not just to the bombastic nature of the instrumentals, but also to her lyrical content. Moreover, many rap fans caught some possible shots at some of her perceived hip-hop rivals, and although there’s nothing direct, it’s combative enough for some understandable assumptions. For example, there’s the former City Girl’s intro, which many thought was a reference to Cardi B and her alleged NSFW treatment of a bottle onstage, which she denied was her. “Non-rapping b***h, who the f**k you talking to? / I was off in Saks, Gucci alligator bags / While you were laying on your back and stuffing bottles up your a**,” she rapped on the cut.

Furthermore, JT’s alleged Cardi B disses continued on “Lemon Pepper” with Stunna Girl, calling back to when Cardi mocked her jail stint and called her “prison pants.” “JT a convicted felon and I’m still on they a** / These Rick Owens, boo, these ain’t prison pants,” she rapped. However, Bardi isn’t the only alleged target, as GloRilla also seemed to catch some strays given their previous beef. “Now I’m hated by a b***h with a man voice,” the Florida femcee spits on “Swang.”

Glo beef aside, JT opened up about why she made City Cinderella a mixtape in her Paper cover story. “People work on their albums for a year, albums are just different. So City Cinderella is not my first album, being that I made this project so damn fast,” she elaborated. “I had to create this project throughout the tour and moving around, so I didn’t have time to really nurture and doctor it. This is just something that I’m putting out with my pure instincts.”

Meanwhile, JT will go on tour soon to celebrate and roll out the release of City Cinderella, so grab your tickets if you want in a good time. We’re sure that some other bars on this mixtape might aim at other rappers, but these are just the big suspects on initial listens. Whether they’re intentional or not, the message is pretty clear, and we don’t know if the targets will respond. Hopefully folks can stop sneak dissing each other and focus more on their own musical story… if they’re not going to go direct, that is.

Rick Ross Ironically Vibes Out To Drake Collab After His Vancouver Fight With OVO Fans

Drake and Rick Ross’ persistent beef is one of the most surprising and also tragic things to emerge out of the whole Kendrick Lamar battle. After all, the two were once iconic and very frequent collaborators, but their rift has made live performances and concert setlists much tougher to navigate… well, for Rozay, anyway. Drizzy has a whole cavalcade of hits he can play without his rivals, but many highlights in Ross’ discography are with The Boy. So when he played their Wale collab “Diced Pineapples” at a recent festival, fans found this to be pretty ironic and not really something that you could flip into a satirical or ironic attack against the 6ix God.

Furthermore, this follows another recent festival incident for which Drake must have felt quite vindicated in his beef with Rick Ross. When the latter tried to play “Not Like Us” at a Vancouver festival, and was allegedly rude to people chastising him for it, a group of OVO fans attacked the rapper and they got into a scuffle with his crew. It was a viral incident that The Biggest Boss laughed off, but Aubrey surely had much more laughs. Ross continues to take this risk of playing with his name at live performances, but he’s a massive troll, so who’s really shocked?

In fact, this Vancouver incident provided more ammo for Rick Ross’ other opponents like 50 Cent, so he probably regrets the whole thing. Fif clowned Ross onstage during a performance in Canada, asking the crowd why they attacked him and even asking individual concert-goers if they were the ones to lay the smack down. If anyone had responded yes, we’re sure the Queens MC would’ve made a big deal out of it. If the Maybach Music Group mogul is a troll, then his G-Unit enemy is the biggest troll.

Meanwhile, others like Uncle Luke want to see this wrap up already. “This whole fighting with my boy Rick Ross and his guys in Canada, that’s unacceptable,” he remarked. “That [isn’t] supposed to happen. And what’s more unacceptable is when Mr. Drake liked the post. I expect more out of Mr. Drake. When there is violence, you don’t condone it. Drake, you should be bigger than that. Ab-Soul Believes Drake Can Redeem Himself But Only On One Condition

Ab-Soul is one of the most respected MCs in the game, and his catalog truly speaks for itself. Overall, the artist has collaborated with some of rap’s biggest superstars. Of course, as a member of TDE, he got to work with Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, ScHoolboy Q, and even SZA. He’s part of the Black Hippy collective, and he got to reunite with his groupmates during “The Pop Out” on Juneteenth. Furthermore, he was also recently featured in the “Not Like Us” music video.

Having said all of that, Ab-Soul has certainly been in close proximity to Kendrick’s beef with Drake. Lamar even rapped “6:16 In LA” directly to Ab-Soul on stage at the Forum. Despite all of this, Soul still has a lot of respect for Drake as an MC. We know this because the artist went on a bit of a Twitter rant this morning where he spoke about the beef. Below, Soul reveals that he thinks Drake can redeem himself here. However, he can only do so by being the best version of himself.

He has never shied away from going at it with other artists, and that will likely never change. In fact, he is constantly re-engaging in feuds that are seemingly over and done with.

One feud that he loves to revisit is his beef with Rick Ross. These two do not like each other, although Fif has seemingly been getting the last laugh as of late. Overall, this is mostly thanks to the fact that Rick Ross and his crew were beaten up in Vancouver. This was all in conjunction with Rozay playing “Not Like Us” while in Canada. It led to real-world consequences, and 50 Cent has been making some jokes, ever since.

50 Cent’s Friend Meets With Meek Mill’s Camp To Apologize For Dissing Him

We all know that 50 Cent and Meek Mill don’t always get along, but it seems like their spats have been enough to rope their entourages in. Moreover, some folks on both MCs’ camp have launched some scathing attacks against the latter, including Fif’s friend Mike Knox’s disses against the Philly MC. However, everyone is always capable of acknowledging when they’ve gone too far, and while the two rappers might not be letting bygones be bygones here, hopefully they take inspiration from their crews. Knox apparently met with one of Meek’s friends to apologize for his actions and forge a better bond.

“We just bumped into each other,” 50 Cent’s friend Mike Knox told Meek Mill’s friend. “We had a serious conversation about this situation with Meek and how I was out of pocket, how I was wrong, right? How I was f***ed up, how I was disrespectful. I wasn’t on man time, how I got caught up in the bulls**t with the Instagram and being disrespectful. We had something going on together where we always supposed to do something together and switch, and I got on some bulls**t. Right, with the Meek Mill hate train, with the disrespect and with saying anything that wasn’t supposed to be said on a man’s time. And as a man, I apologize. I was wrong, it shouldn’t have happened. It’s not going to happen again, that’s not how we move, that’s not how we handle s**t. As a man, Meek, I apologize. As a man, [Meek’s friend], I apologize, and this s**t won’t happen no more.”

Furthermore, Meek Mill also has some other rap beefs to handle, such as a reignited feud with Soulja Boy. Folks may remember that he got a lot of recent flack for his alleged connection to the Diddy accusations, and many clowned him for his supposed relationship with him. It all became a pretty nasty affair, and one that Meek’s had to deal with for a while now. Hopefully this move from the 50 Cent camp inspires some more reconciliation.

Meanwhile, 50 Cent recently fell victim to a Twitter hack that made $720K in minutes off of a cryptocurrency scam. He probably has more worries about that right now than about Meek Mill. Moreover, she recently shared her thoughts on the Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef that has dominated this year’s pop culture cycle in magnanimous ways. However, the singer’s assessment of the whole matter has little to do with who had the better bars and songs, who had the better strategy, or what either artist should focus on in the aftermath. Instead, it was more of a comment on how these two MCs could probably get along and the annoyance that comes with hearing smack about a colleague.

“Drake is such a delight,” Camila Cabello reportedly expressed. “It’s so frustrating to see people talk about someone you know in a negative way. You’re like, ‘Dang, if only you guys could just have dinner or something.’” While there are no holes in this statement, a lot of folks might not give it the time of day because Cabello collaborated with the Toronto superstar on a track off her new album C,XOXO and even gave him a solo track on it to boot. But potential bias aside, do you really want to be the neckbeard complaining about folks wanting peace?

Overall, it all started when Meg began taking shots on the song “Hiss.” Subsequently, Nicki Minaj offered a response on “Big Foot.” However, many fans felt like “Big Foot” was a weak effort that wasn’t even worth a response from Meg. Today, Thee Stallion dropped off her new album Megan, and fans were curious to see if she would have any bars for Nicki.

Well, it appears as though she does. Firstly, we have the song “Figueroa” which had an interesting bar, to say the least. “I’m a motherf*ckin’ brat, not a Barbie,” she raps. “On go with any b*tch that wanna start it.” This is just a one-off bar although the Barbie reference makes things pretty obvious as to who she is talking about. Having said that, it is the song “Rattle” that is certainly going to have a couple of people in their feelings.

“I wanted everybody right here with me, but that was my fault being too friendly,” she says. “I was thinking everything was all good, but the whole time you was my enemy / Only time y’all n****s in agreement is when all y’all tryna go against me / Only time y’all weak hoes link up is when another b*tch tryna get rid of me.” She also said: “Damn b*tch it been four years / Worry ’bout your man and your kid / Your life must be boring as f*ck if you’re still reminiscin’ ’bout sh*t we did.” Some believe these bars could be directed at Kelsey Nicole. However, for now, Nicki appears to be the main target.

Jonathan Majors was not the only celebrity to receive a special award at Hollywood Unlocked‘s Impact Awards ceremony last night (Friday, June 21) in Beverly Hills. Moreover, the one and only Cardi B went onstage to accept the “Inspiration” accolade, and delivered a heartfelt and relatively unfiltered speech to thank HU‘s Jason Lee and her supporters. However, she also included a dismissive message against those who would rather see her downfall than her success. At the end of the day, the Bronx femcee knows that she is her own biggest critic, and works that much harder so she can prioritize her own wishes and desired changes rather than those of her haters.

“I just want to say thank Jason so much for this award,” Cardi B expressed at the event. “I’m really my biggest critic and I always say this. Nobody has it harder than in the industry and in every genre than a female rapper, and I’m going to tell you why. You have to have the best verse. Not only that, you have to kill the charts. On top of that, your personal life has to be perfect, or then the opp b***hes are going to use that against you.

Your husband.’ Shut up,” Cardi B continued her speech, seemingly referencing how people use their relationship drama and cheating accusations to discredit them. “I make more money than all the n***as you’re f***ing. So you know, sometimes, it is hard to be yourself. It is hard to want to push yourself into the music because sometimes I don’t like showing weakness in my music because you can’t see the p***y in me, b***h.”

Meanwhile, Cardi B’s sophomore album remains in limbo, with opposing rumors indicating that it’s either still slated for this year or it will arrive in 2025 instead. Either way, we doubt that hype for it will ever get any easier to manage or more subdued until we get a concrete announcement. Hopefully it lands sooner rather than later, as it’s quite difficult to continue to justify a six-year wait in many fans’ eyes. But like these “opp b***hes,” maybe all we need is some patience and empathy.

DJ Mustard Reveals How Long It Took Him To Make Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” Beat

However, Mustard gave us the beat to “Not Like Us” which is arguably the song of the summer. Overall, it is a song that has served as a major rallying cry for fans, and it also helped Kendrick Lamar win his beef against Drake. Moreover, Mustard will be dropping Faith Of A Mustard Seed on June 28th and the album will feature some huge names.

Recently, Mustard sat down with Billboard where he discussed the new album and his hit song “Not Like Us.” It was here where he revealed five things about the beat that no one knows yet. Firstly, he maintained that he did not sample “Ether.” Secondly, he noted how he only heard the song along with everyone else, and had no idea what Kendrick would do with the beat. From there, he noted that his mindset was to embody how Dr. Dre would move if Lil Jon was in the studio looking to collab on production.

Subsequently, Mustard explained how it only took him a total of 30 minutes to make the beat for the record. Lastly, he was pretty stunned by just how well Kendrick performed on top of it. When you think about the bars and the cadences, it could very well have been the greatest verses ever laid on a Mustard beat. So there you have it. Sometimes, genius doesn’t need to take years to create.
