R. Kelly Sues Prison Bureau For Seizing Of His Commissary Funds

R. Kelly is suing the United States government in an attempt to get his commissary funds back. The case stems from a March 2023 ruling, in which the Illinois Supreme Court decided Heather Williams was entitled to access the disgraced singer’s funds. “The defendant is appealing his conviction and the government’s seizure of his substantial Bureau of Prisons commissary account to satisfy the financial penalties imposed in the case,” an announcement of the lawsuit caught by HipHopDX reportedly read. Assistant United States Attorney Kayla Bensing will represent the United States in the matter.

Kelly has faced countless sexual misconduct allegations over the years. In 2021, he was convicted under the Mann Act and for racketeering while a year later, he was convicted for three child pornography charges and three charges of enticing a minor. Kelly’s currently serving a 31-year sentence at FCI Butner Medium I. He’s due for release on December 21, 2045, at the age of 78.

R. Kelly Appears In Court In Chicago

Back in January, Kelly claimed he wasn’t aware that he had lost a $10.5 million lawsuit back in August of 2023. He mentioned facing a high number of cases and switching legal teams as potential reasons for the slip up. In a statement, his attorney, Jennifer Bonjean, said to XXL: “We are absolutely pushing back on the $10.5 million default judgment that was entered against him without notice and without a sound legal justification. It would be simplistic and silly to write that the basis for our motion to vacate the windfall judgment relates solely to his illiteracy (although he is in fact functionally illiterate per formalized testing). The more significant problem is that there was no legal basis to enter the default judgment on the merits.”

Dame Dash Accuses Lyor Cohen Of Taking Advantage Of Young Thug

Dame Dash discussed how the music industry is “toxic” during a conversation with Math Hoffa for his America Nu Network and shared some interesting takes on Young Thug. He claimed Lyor Cohen, an iconic executive and founder of 300 Entertainment, is taking advantage of the Atlanta rapper. He’s currently on trial for his 2022 arrest on gang-related charges.

“[The music industry] only exists because of toxic behavior,” Dash began. “They take advantage of the dysfunction of our culture. For me, if I see a kid that’s making music about shit that’s gonna get him killed because he’s really doing it, I don’t think I’m putting they records out. I’m not gonna enable that child.” From there, he brought up Thug: “When I look at Young Thug, I’m like, Lyor and them just made a big check and he’s going to jail. They made money off his music. So if they made money off that music and he’s in jail for that, then all that money they made off the music should not go to them. How do they get to get all that money and he has to get a jail cell?”

Dash has been critical of Cohen for over a decade, previously labeling him “a fake CEO” and a “culture vulture.” He’s also accused him of ruining Roc-A-Fella. “I’m calling him out publicly and I want him to stop trying to rape my culture. Go make some money with some other people,” he told VladTV back in 2014.

Charles Cosby Says Griselda Blanco Paid Prison Guards $1500 Every Time They’d Have Sex

The story of Griselda Blanco finally found its way on Netflix recently, providing many with a glimpse into her drug empire. However, while the show aims to dramatize her life and journey to operating one of the biggest cocaine enterprises in America, it misses out on one key element: Charles Cosby. Though Netflix omitted his role in her story, Charles Cosby recently sat down with Vlad TV for an all-encompassing interview that details his time with Blanco, as well as the drug trade.

Cosby and Blanco first connected during her incarceration. Charles, who was half her age, began writing letters to her before they eventually formed a tight bond that extended to their personal lives and cocaine empire. Cosby explained that after he met Griselda, he would visit her three to four times a week. However, Cosby explained that Griselda would pay off the guards so he could sneak in to have sex with her. He estimated that she spent about $1500 for each visit over the course of 100 visits where they’d see each other.

Charles Cosby Details His Relationship With Griselda, Praises Her Son

Cosby explained that the first time they slept together, he went to the visiting center where he waited for her, though, she never came out. “A guard came and was like, ‘Follow me,’” he said, detailing how the female guard led him to a side room. “She opened the door and Griselda is lying across a cot and she was like semi-nude. So the guard told Griselda, ‘You guys have 15 minutes.’” When Vlad asked Cosby whether he slept with Griselda to help his drug business. “Griselda’s a beautiful woman, you know, a great kisser. She actually taught me how to kiss,” he said. “It was like having sex with a 21-year-old off the street so it was no different. P***y is p***y.”

From there, Cosby detailed meeting her son Michael Corleone, who stars in Cartel Crew, when he was 12 years old. The two ultimately formed a tight bond that left a lasting impression on Cosby over the years. “Michael, to this day, is the most intelligent 12-year-old kid I ever met in my life. Very articulate, respectful, cordial, and so, he liked me a lot. We just got a lot,” he said. From there, the two became close with Cosby often bringing Michael Corleone out to Oakland to hang out with him.

Adin Ross Didn’t Know Lil Durk Had Been to Jail

Adin Ross once again proved that simply having rappers’ numbers didn’t make you part of the lifestyle. While reacting to Lil Durk’s new track, Ross was surprised to learn that the Chicago rapper had been to jail. Furthermore, Ross was so surprised that he proceeded to call Durk live on air to ask him about it. However, Durk did not appear especially enthused about the line of questioning. “It ain’t a good thing,” Durk said bluntly about his time in jail.

As mentioned, Ross being a hip-hop outsider when actually pressed on the life is a recurring theme for the streamer. During a 2023 stream at Floyd Mayweather’s gym, Ross tried to link up with Money, only to get a firm check on his ego. As he approaches Mayweather’s crew ringside, Ross is told to stop filming. The rest of the clip takes place with his camera looking at the floor as snippets of their interaction can be heard. The clip was a hard reality check for the rising generation of “streaming celebrities”. For all his bravado, Ross is immediately humbled by the iconic boxer. His usual larger-than-life act immediately disappears as he struggles to find the words to keep up with Mayweather’s verbal dissection. It really drives home that Ross may cosplay the lifestyle but at the end of the day, he really ain’t much.

Adin Ross Apologizes To Kanye West After Bianca Censori Intervenes

Meanwhile, Ross has apologized for his previous comments about Kanye West struggling to get brand deals. According to Ross, he had been driven to make the rare apology after Kanye’s wife, Bianca Censori, reached out to Ross to set the record straight. Ross confirmed he had received an email directly from Censori asking him to retract his statements.

Ross had tried to continue his trend of paying rappers to appear on his streams by saying he had the backing of Kick and Stake to pay Kanye for an appearance. This was taken as Ross saying that either Kanye is broke or that Kanye needs the charity. Ross backpedaled during his apology, stating that what he meant is that streaming services were not paying Kanye because “they’re not throwing money at anyone.” Do you believe Ross’ apology? Do you consider it an apology at all? Let us know in the comments.

Tia Kemp Tells Boosie Badazz He’s Too Old For Kodak Black Beef, Boosie Responds

Tia Kemp called out Boosie Badazz on social media, Wednesday, accusing him of being too old to feud with Kodak Black. Addressing Boosie’s complaints about the rapper working with 6ix9ine, she argued that no one cares and the feud isn’t worth his time.

“I came over here to get your sh*t together dog,” she said. “You look too old to be beefing with these little boys man. Every time I turn around, you got Yak name in your mouth. Somebody name in your mouth bro. You do too much dog. I’m an old hoe your age bro.” From there, she argued that no one cares that Kodak made a song with 6ix9ine.

Kodak Black To Be Released From Prison

Kodak Black is expecting to be released from prison as early as Wednesday night, his attorney, Bradford Cohen, announced on Instagram. While Kodak pleaded guilty to one count of failure to report police contact, Judge Jose Martinez dismissed all other counts. With time served, he’s already ready for release.

“Federal Probation terminated with time served,” Cohen wrote. “In the Southern District of Florida Judge Martinez dismissed all substantive counts and Kodak plead to sole violation of failure to report police contact. Time served and he should be released by tonight. With my co counsel @skywriter.esq @kodakblack.”

Police originally planned to charge Kodak with cocaine possession after an arrest in December 2023, wherein they found a “white chunky substance” in his vehicle. However, they ended up going with oxycodone possession, thus violating his probation. Cohen quickly came forward to argue Kodak had a prescription for the painkillers. “It’s oxycodone that Kodak had a prescription for and not an illegal substance,” Cohen wrote on social media at the time. “Knowing that the officer substantially misrepresented his observations, the Broward State Atty Office still filed the charge. Unbelievable and it will not be tolerated. This level of abuse of power by the arresting officer is disgusting.” Check out Cohen’s latest update on Kodak below.

Troy Ave Tells Fans He Is Going To Serve Prison Sentence Over Deadly 2016 Shooting

Back in June of 2023, rapper and podcaster Taxstone got into a heated situation with fellow Brooklyn MC Troy Ave. It all went down in 2016 in New York City at the Irving Plaza. Both were at the T.I. concert at the time and a fight broke out leading to a fatality and several injuries. Troy’s bodyguard Ronald McPhatter was the one who unfortunately lost his life. Taxstone blamed the incident on Troy Ave in his defense, imploring that he egged everything on, leading to him pulling the gun out in self-defense. However, the court did not buy it, and they handed him a 35-year prison sentence.

Troy only had to do one year in jail for everything, though. But, according to HipHopDX, he is seemingly heading back to the court room to turn himself in. The veteran rapper announced this on his Instagram by way of short video. “About to run up in the court, you might not see me for a while but just know the streets is a myth. Somebody shot at me. Instead of laying down and dying, I’d have been a hero, a martyr. I take the gun and bust back.”
