Ty Dolla Sign has had a prominent rap career, but he also is jumping into the television world again. Fans of STARZ’s Power Book III: Raising Kanan series might be surprised when he pops up on their screens during episode nine, which airs today, February 2.

Here’s what to know about Ty Dolla Sign’s appearance in the Power franchise.

Who Does Ty Dolla Sign Play In ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan?’

During the recent “Home To Roost” episode of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, Ty Dolla Sign appeared as the character Clarence “Krystal Light” TK. He helps Ronnie (Grantham Coleman) as his “most trusted soldier” who is “always ready for a gunfight,” according to Complex.

In a clip that was exclusively shared with the publication earlier this week, Clarence watches Ronnie and Gabriel Ayala (Joseph Melendez) get into a fight, which was sparked by the death of the latter character’s cousin, Juliana Ayala (Rosal Colon).

Also, there could be future tension over Ty’s character of Clarence down the line, based on who he is aligned with. Earlier in the season, Ronnie killed his brother Unique, who was played by Joey Badass.

Before appearing on Raising Kanan, Ty Dolla Sign played himself on Insecure, according to his IMDb — so hopefully he gets to do more acting work on the series.

Ty Dolla Sign is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

50 Cent Challenges Kai Cenat To Prove He’s Good Enough To Appear On “Power”

Kai Cenat will have to prove himself talented enough for a role on Power after 50 Cent finally responded to Cenat’s request to appear on the show. “We gotta work it out. Look, we gotta make sure you can play the part, though. Look, look, look! It got to look as if shit was expensive. You gotta be dead-ass serious. I want to see you knock something off,” Fif told Cenat during a recent FaceTime call while Cenat was streaming.

Cenat first asked Fif for a role on the long-running series after meeting the G-Unit mogul at an NBA game. “Then 50 pulled back up, looking directly at me. This n-gga literally puts his hand on my shoulder — ‘Yo brah, take a picture with my little mans real quick; he f-ck with you,’” Cenat claimed of the interaction at a recent Knicks-Bucks game. “I wasn’t in the moment of time of thinking that you were right there in front of me, but I should’ve asked you, ‘Would you let me on Power, 50?’ So I need everybody to get this video to 50,” Cenat added while recounting the meeting.

Usher Wants Kai Cenat Collab

Meanwhile, someone else who is interested in collab with Cenat is Usher. The hint came as Usher called the widely popular streamer to personally invite him to next month’s Super Bowl. Furthermore, Usher also invited Cenat to come to an early listening party for his new album. Cenat was overjoyed about the opportunity and seemed to reciprocate the desire to work with the iconic singer.

Cenat has been making a name for himself throughout 2023 as his star has shone brighter and brighter. This included getting a Christmas present from Ice Spice. The present in question was one of Spice’s branded chia pets. While Cenat was very excited to receive a gift from Spice, he was slightly confused by the gift. After closely inspecting the gift, Cenat declared that it didn’t look too much like Spice at all. Regardless, he was very happy to have received something from the high-profile rapper.

Asian Doll Accuses Kash Doll Of “Stealing Her Flow”

Asian Doll has co-signed accusations aimed at Kash Doll in regards to “stealing” Asian’s flow on a recent track. “This is literally not cool & I fasho feel a way!!! LITERALLY MY WHOLE FLOW” Asian wrote in a now-deleted tweet. However, whether Kash stole Asian’s flow is debatable. The beats are very similar but it would it is something of a stretch to say that it’s beat for beat theft.

The focal flows in question are Kash’s “Power”, released earlier this week, and Asian’s “Talk My Sh-t”, which was released last month. This may put the pair on the warpath despite previously being on good terms. In April 2021, Asian posted a picture from a link-up with Kash. This remains a developing story and we’ll have any updates as and when they emerge.

Asian Doll Slams King Von Documentary

Back in 2023, Asian Doll was no stranger to beef. In now-deleted tweets, Asian hit back about Rap’s First Serial Killer, calling it “not true.”. She also argued, “How They Tell A Story About Somebody That DIED before he could tell his own.” Furthermore, the second tweet reposted to Instagram by theneighborhoodtalk is in reference to a claim that the documentary isn’t saying anything that King Von hadn’t already said. As a top comment on the documentary reads, “The wild part is folks can’t be mad at dude for making this documentary the same information he’s sharing is the same information that Von HIMSELF and his peers put out there, NOBODY ELSE. This information was already there he just cumulated all of it into one complete video.” Despite this belief, Asian makes a valid point.

The claim that Von was a “serial killer” is a heavily disputed one. Aside from the Stuckey murder that he was acquitted of, Von was attached to two other murders. He was arrested in 2019 in connection with the robbery and murder of Alexander Witherspoon in Atlanta. Von was released on a $300,000 bond. Additionally, in 2021, nearly a year after Von’s death, Chicago police labeled Von as responsible for the 2014 murder of Gakirah “K.I.” Barnes. However, they stated that they had been unable to prosecute him due to a lack of cooperating witnesses. Despite this, and whatever supporters of the documentary may have, Von’s case will forever be unsolved. Unless full-proof evidence emerges, the claims that he was a “serial killer” are merely theories.

50 Cent Offers To Help Terrence Howard With His ‘Empire’ Lawsuit Despite Being Involved In Several Legal Battles Himself

50 Cent knows his way around the courtroom. Over the years, 50 (real name Curtis Jackson) has been named in or initiated a lawsuit (or two). In many of these cases, Jackson either came out victorious or settled in his favor. On Friday, January 5, Jackson revealed that he’s willing to provide what he’s learned in the legal system with his Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ co-star Terrence Howard.

Last month, Howard sued the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) for breach of fiduciary duty. During his press conference on December 8, 2023, Howard alleged that the CAA told him to take a lower salary for the popular FOX show Empire. In a post shared to Jackson’s official Instagram page, he offered to help Howard with his Empire lawsuit.

“Damn, Terrence Howard, call my phone,”wrote Jackson, reposting a clip from the press conference. “I will get you the money they were supposed to get for you. I’m not playing no games over here.”

Jackson has done his sharing of online trolling surrounding other hot topics, but he seems sincere. However, since he is reportedly in mediation for a Power-related lawsuit, with another eight-figure filing awaiting him, Jackson’s hands are already quite full. Neither Howard nor his legal representative have responded to Jackson’s offer.

Kai Cenat Meets 50 Cent, Begs Rapper For Role In “Power”

Kai Cenat has expressed a desire to appear Power while outlining a recent meeting with 50 Cent. “Then 50 pulled back up, looking directly at me,” he told his viewers. “This n-gga literally puts his hand on my shoulder — ‘Yo brah, take a picture with my little mans real quick; he f-ck with you,’” Cenat claimed of the interaction at a recent Knicks-Bucks game. “I wasn’t in the moment of time of thinking that you were right there in front of me, but I should’ve asked you, ‘Would you let me on Power, 50?’ So I need everybody to get this video to 50,” Cenat added.

Jadakiss Shows Love To 50 Cent

Meanwhile, Jadakiss recently showed love to 50 Cent after showing “nothing but love” to Kiss’ mother and aunt at a recent appearance. “Momma love and aunt Bea popped up on @50cent and he showed them nothing but love,” Kiss wrote on Instagram. The kind words come after Kiss urged fans to choose Fif over other touring acts earlier in the year.

“For the music that we do, to see n-ggas up in that kind of caliber, from our cloth of music to have that kind of production and see my n-ggas up there, that sh-t is incredible. I encourage n-ggas to see this. Beyoncé, you better catch that Final Lap Tour. Drake and 21, the Final Lap. Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, catch it. Who else I say? For hardcore Hip Hop lovers and you could only cop one [ticket]?” Kiss said of Fif’s “Final Lap” Tour in September.

Why Is 50 Cent Being Sued For $1 Billion Over ‘Power?’

Of all the jewels in 50 Cent’s multimedia empire, Power shines the brightest. As the producer of the long-running street crime saga, 50 has seen the show bring in so much money that its success even intimidated him.

But now, the man who claims to be the real-life Ghost wants a piece of that success — namely, $1 billion.

According to AllHipHop, in 2021, Cory Holland, who says that he was former drug kingpin whose street name really was “Ghost,” filed a suit against 50 Cent, his co-producer Courtney Kemp, Starz, and Lionsgate for allegedly basing much of the show on his life without his permission. Holland said that in 2007 he recorded his recollections on a CD, distributing it to at-risk youth to warn them about the dangers of street life.

Holland, who is representing himself in the suit, insists that the success of the show has brought law enforcement to his doorstep because scenes were so realistic and similar to real-life incidents from his life. In the complaint, he wrote, “This is not one of those lawsuits from a deranged fan or some somebody trying capitalize-off someone else’s success. This is about the actual theft of my life, and the damages that it has done as well the profits that the defendants have made from the of stealing and telling my life story without my consent.”

Meanwhile, in a separate lawsuit, Holland said that 50 even assaulted him to intimidate him out of pursuing the suit, and demanded $300 million. 50’s lawyers have since requested this portion of the lawsuit be thown out.

50 Cent Claims “Power” Lawsuit Drug Dealer “Waited Too Long” To File Assault Charges

50 Cent has requested the dismissal of assault charges claimed by Corey “Ghost” Holland. Fif has said that the former drug dealer “waited too long” to add the assault allegations to his already existing $1 billion lawsuit against the G-Unit mogul. “Plaintiff’s claim that he suffered from severe emotional distress is undermined by the allegations that Plaintiff owns a weapon and he and his family repeatedly tried to confront Jackson,” Fif’s legal team noted in court filings. “The allegation that Jackson ‘actually came to plaintiff home and neighborhood’ and ‘pull[ed] up to plaintiff home’ does not constitute a claim for assault,” Fif’s motion added.

Holland is suing Fif for $1 billion. The former drug dealer claimed that Fif is using his life story as inspiration for the Power series without permission. The additional assault claims have added an additional $300 mill to the suit. Holland has alleged that Fif has tried to intimidate him into retracting his lawsuit. “The alleged conduct—Jackson ‘came to plaintiff home and neighborhood’—took place over a year before this Action was commenced. Around late July or early August 2021, Plaintiff can’t remember exactly your honor, but defendant Jackson decided to come to plaintiff neighborhood, not once, but twice. This claim is thus untimely. The assault claim should therefore be dismissed for failure to state a claim because the First Amended Complaint is devoid of any allegations to support such a claim against Jackson,” Fif’s motion states.

50 Cent Continues Trolling Diddy

Away from Fif’s legal woes, he has spent plenty of time trolling Diddy. Last weekend, Fif posted a picture of Diddy dancing with his trousers around his ankles. “👀what kinda batty boy party is this! 🤨Bumba clot !!!! Why ya tink I don’t go to diss?” Fif wrote as a caption. It’s a major turn around from Fif. Previously, he had appeared to show some compassion for Diddy. “Damn I hope he alright if you cool with him check on him. All joke a side this is a lot,” Fif wrote.

It came after a third lawsuit was filed against Diddy. The suit was filed just hours before the expiration of New York’s Adult Survivors Act on Thanksgiving. In the suit, an anonymous woman claims she went on a date with Diddy in 1991 while attending Syracuse. However, she alleges that Diddy drugged her during dinner, before filming them while he raped her. Furthermore, she claims that she was later made aware that the video of the assault had been shown to and viewed by multiple people. The wave of allegations against Diddy has come after his former long-time partner Cassie released a series of horrific allegations against him in her own suit.

NBA YoungBoy Samples Kanye West’s “POWER” In New Song Preview: Watch

It shouldn’t come as a surprise to NBA YoungBoy fans that days after dropping off another album, he’s already got unreleased snippets surfacing online. So far in 2023, the Louisana native has been on a roll. He kicked things off with a featureless, 19-track effort, I Rest My Case, before working with Mariah The Scientist, Nicki Minaj, Post Malone, and The Kid LAROI on Don’t Try This At Home. Since then, YB has further expanded his discography with Richest Opp, and more recently, Decided 2. The latter hit DSPs this past New Music Friday (November 10), with just one guest appearance from Rod Wave on “Better Than Ever.”

So far, “Deep Down,” “My Body,” and “Free Sex” are all emerging as fan favourites, though were curious to see how the LP will age. As HipHopDX reports, an affiliate of the 24-year-old gave his Instagram followers a preview of what else YoungBoy has been cooking up lately, including a tribute to Kanye West. Using a sample of the embattled star’s “POWER” track from My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, the Southern superstar gives the original lyricist his flowers. “RIP to the Donda, now I’m the biggest scholar / I got my own playlist, I say Kanye’s better,” he rhymes.

NBA YoungBoy Appears to Have More Heat Cooking Up

As is the case with most of the Baton Rogue-born star’s songs, not everyone is immediately feeling what they’re hearing. “He was going to off, then he started talking on the beat again,” one IG user wrote in Akademiks’ comments, criticizing NBA’s flow. “We listening to the same thing? This hard!” another person replied to the discourse.

Having the support of NBA YoungBoy behind him has to feel pretty good for Kanye West as he inches toward dropping another album of his own. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been all love for the father of four, as his wife Bianca Censori’s Australian friends reportedly held an intervention to help her acknowledge his “controlling” behaviour during her trip home this month. Read more about that at the link below, and let us know if you want YB to drop his full track sampling “POWER” in the comments.

50 Cent Said The Success Of ‘Power’ Made Him Fear The Idea Of Being A ‘One-Hit Wonder,’ But Motivated Him To Create More

50 Cent is becoming as prolific in television as he is in music. With shows like Power, For Life, and Black Mafia Family under his belt, it feels safe to say that 50 is a household name.

While his focus seems to be more on TV than in music these days, his resume in both realms has quite a few hits.

50’s most successful television endeavor is probably the Power franchise, though, in an interview with Brian J. Roberts, he admitted that the acclaim of Power worried him at first. He feared that he wouldn’t be able to replicate the success elsewhere.

“Producing a hit is not enough for me,” said 50. “When I got one, I’m cringing [sic] to get the next one. While Power’s working by itself, I go do The Oath on Sony Crackle, right, just to have something else.”

The Oath lasted for two seasons, however, 50’s other projects, like Black Mafia Family have proven to have more longevity. 50’s fear of not having an equally successful franchise in comparison to power is what’s kept him motivated to produce more television over the years.

“It’s just ’cause I needed something else there — if not, you a one-hit wonder,” he said. “I’m scared of that sh*t.”

This September, 50 will star in Expend4bles as a new member of the group named Easy Day.
