Dom Corleo Follows Up Sophomore Album With Four-Track EP “DC”

Dom Corleo has been satisfying fans all throughout 2024. The Fremont, California talent has mostly been riding solo for most of these 12 months too, making his run all the more impressive. A couple of singles got the ball rolling for him, particularly “duh duh duh,” one of his only joint records. He grabbed Detroit MC Veeze for that one, and the playful energy, particularly from the instrumental, sealed the deal for a lot of fans. That track would go on to be one of a few promotional singles for his eventual sophomore album. Under My Influence was the name and it landed in September and a lot of folks quickly fell in love with it. It’s grown a nice cult following and it’s carried a nice wave of momentum for the 22-year-old.

So much so, that Dom Corleo has just come by with some more music to wrap up a banner year. This time, he’s dropping of a four-song self-titled EP, DC. On the album, he was presenting different soundscapes and even doing a bit of storytelling and opening up. But here, it seems he was just looking to give the listeners some hype cuts to get energized from. Right away, you are hit with more trap-like beats and Auto-Tuned rapping, which is something that he does with frequent collaborators like KILLY, for example. So, if you are into that type of music from Dom Corleo, then you will definitely enjoy the looser and more carefree cuts he’s bringing here. You can check out DC with the links down below.

Tee Grizzley Recruits Flo Milli For Remix Of “Diana”

Tee Grizzley’s 2024 was one of his most creative and experimental years of his career. After making a name of hard-hitting and violent street anthems, the Detroit native decided to incorporate some new sounds and topical focuses on Post Traumatic. It’s his most recent album and it takes the deepest dive yet when it comes to varying approaches to tracks. He’s done some more R&B-like cuts over the years, for example, but all the stops were pulled out for this tape. We covered quite a few songs off of it when it initially released back in October.

But Tee Grizzley had decided to go back to it and redo a track that we never got to. That means we are also going with him and taking a look at “Diana.” Part of the reason we didn’t give it a listen was due to how forgettable it was, quite frankly. At just over a minute long, it definitely felt more like a snippet than a fully fleshed out idea. Well, he’s showing it some love this weekend by tapping Alabama pop rap hitmaker, Flo Milli. She adds a new third verse to the BNYX-produced rage-like track, essentially rapping from the female perspective of Tee’s story. That is how this woman has got such a hook him that he will doing anything for her. Whether its trips or expensive gifts, Flo Milli (in this case) is on the receiving end. Check it out with the link below.

Lola Brooke Won’t Be Taken Lightly On “Go To Yo Head”

Lola Brooke wants to make sure every man out there understands she’s got big expectations on “Go To Yo Head.” This is the latest offering from the Brooklyn representative, following up on her previous collab with Jeremih, “No One Else.” Nothing has been made official, but there’s a solid chance that she’s working toward a new album. Given the tone and themes of these last releases, we could be in for more of a love focused record. Multiple genres could be at play as well, which is something that Lola Brooke is known to do. From drill, R&B, and pop/trap rap, she has not been afraid to push herself to new heights.

On “Go To Yo Head,” she’s going back to her MC roots, which is a feisty and rumbling brand of spitting. Here, instead of doing the most for her man, Lola is wanting to be one who’s splurged on. On top of that, she’s letting it be known that she’s not going to be played. In a recent statement, she said, “There’s no room to get big-headed and think for a second that Lola is that girl to be played with. That’s the energy on Go To Yo Head. I’m a step on heads every time if they come for mine.” Overall, it’s another lively and gritty performance from the pint-sized femcee.

Anycia & Kalan.FrFr Collab For The First Time On “Smoke You Out”

Anycia’s extremely lowkey and unbothered delivery has made her a standout and a name to watch out for. Bursting onto the scene in 2022 with a pair of singles, the Atlanta native really got to see growth in her reach heading into 2024. Her first major co-sign was fellow Georgia peach Latto on the single “BACK OUTSIDE.” It’s a braggadocious banger that still burns for us all these months later and it’s her biggest track to date. After a few more releases, she would go on to drop her debut project PRINCESS POP THAT. It’s essentially a longer version of that Latto collab, as she displays uber levels of confidence.

As we said, her delivery is big reason as to why she’s steadily rising up the ranks. However, there are times where it doesn’t always play in her favor. One of those instances unfortunately is on Anycia’s latest single, “SMOKE YOU OUT.” Sleepier flows in general are ones that tend to be the most hit or miss out there. 21 Savage sometimes suffers from that issue despite his superstar status. For Anycia, she gets a little more grace as she continues to build out her career. However, given how minimal the lyrics, there just isn’t enough oomph on her end. Kalan.FrFr provides the chorus, which sees him croon rather than spit. Overall, “SMOKE YOU OUT” is not Anycia’s best work in our opinion. But there are plenty of others out there that are.

The Kid LAROI Gasses Up Tate McRae On “APEROL SPRITZ”

The Kid LAROI made a massive comeback almost one year ago with the release of his official debut album, THE FIRST TIME. The native Aussie gave listeners a bit of everything sonically on that project from pop rap, trap, singer/songwriter, and more. However, he wasn’t done with that era immediately. After having fans waiting for so long, he wanted to feed them well, and he did just that. Just over two months ago, LAROI dropped off the deluxe version with eight new songs featuring singles “HEAVEN” and “GIRLS.”

Then, just over two weeks ago, him and Gunna linked up for a remix of another deluxe cut in “BABY I’M BACK.” Now, fast forward to this weekend and it seems like The Kid LAROI is ready to shift gears to new things, as he drops off “APEROL SPRITZ.” We only say new because this isn’t a remix or anything like that. The soundscape is something you come to expect from the youngster. The most interesting thing about this single is that it looks to be a love letter to his new boo, Canadian pop star Tate McRae. Why is it called “APEROL SPRITZ?” Well, allegedly, this summery and citrusy alcoholic drink is McRae’s favorite. There are also apparently some callbacks to how they first met, so if you are into that sort of thing, knock yourself out with the link below.

Ciara & Busta Rhymes Stunt On The Haters With “Wassup”

Ciara seems to be on her more hip-hop centric vibes lately because this new Busta Rhymes collab, “Wassup”, is definitely keeping that theme going. Just last month, the Texas born R&B icon put out “Run It Up” with BossMan Dlow in a surprising turn of events. Overall, this team up was a shocker just purely based on their respective sounds alone. But we have to give it its due for not being as much of a mess as it sounds on paper. Thankfully, Ciara is putting her better foot forward on “Wassup”.

She sounds much more at home on this club-friendly instrumental. Speaking of that, it seems like CiCi is aiming for that sort of vibe on her next record. Nothing is confirmed yet, nor has it been announced. But given how little time there is in between tracks, there’s a good chance we get that reveal sooner than later. For Ciara and Busta, this is just their second time being on a song, with their last link-up being on Janet Jackson’s “Feedback (So So Def Remix)” in 2008. “Wassup” is a pretty standard flex anthem, with Mr. Rhymes bringing his signature speedy flow and Ciara sounding like Nicki Minaj at points in her vocal delivery. Overall, it’s a solid effort that should get some decent play at nightclubs across the country.

Eem Triplin Is Done With The “CRAZY H*ES” On New Single

There aren’t many like Eem Triplin in terms of vocal delivery. His signature rasp that blurs the lines between rapping and singing has been helping elevate in the industry. For example, the Pennsylvania native has been on Camila Cabello’s radar so much that she worked with on him on track. You can find their collaboration on the C,XOXO – Magic City Edition. For those wanting to give it a listen, it’s called “baby pink”. On top of getting nods from bigger artists, he’s also got his fair share of hits. “AWKWARD FREESTYLE”, “JUST FRIENDS ?”, and “LOUIE V” are just a few of them.

“FIJI”, which features the R&B collective Cruza, is also on the rise, with over two million streams in just over a month. Eem Triplin can replicate similar, if not better, results with “CRAZY H*ES”. There’s something so addicting about his plugg style, so it’s great to hear that some of that secret sauce is brought to this new single too. Here, Eem Triplin expresses how tired he is of dealing with argumentative and over obsessive women. He does so with a sticky melody that’s perfectly placed over a very light and airy instrumental. While they do share a tonal approach, these two singles are also similar because they will both be on Eem’s upcoming debut album, Melody of a Memory. That’s all we know for now, so while you wait for the tape, stream “CRAZY H*ES” with the music video link below.

TiaCorine Is Erratic & Expressive On “Different Color Stones”

Someone who’s never going to hide their idiosyncratic and bubbly personality is TiaCorine. It comes off in such a genuine way that it makes her feel more relatable compared to a lot of her femcee contemporaries. It’s not necessarily something you need to have to be a successful artist, but a lot of listeners listen to music to find someone who they can say they share things with. She just happens to possess that ability, and it helps her stand out from the rest of the pack. We also think it’s really been helping her expand her career outlook and brand, as 2024 has perhaps been the North Carolina native’s biggest year yet.

In these first nine months, TiaCorine has worked some pretty impressive talent. Luh Tyler, Denzel Curry and A$AP Ferg, Key Glock, Zelooperz, and Rich Brian are just a few of them. In addition to her collaboration run, she put out a new EP called Almost There. With a title like that, we could be in for a LP in the near future. Especially since her last project was 2022’s I Can’t Wait. It’s been a little bit of time also since her last solo release, but today, that all changes. TiaCorine is already generating buzz in these first few hours of “Different Color Stones” being out thanks to her off-the-wall vocal performance. She experiments with different voices ranging from cutsy and melodic, to unhinged TiaCorine is doing it all. Lyrically there isn’t anything too interesting going on, but her incredible personality makes up for a lot of its shortcomings.

4batz Returns With “Roll Da Dice” Featuring Lil Baby

For 4batz, things have not gotten off to a roaring start, to say the least. Overall, there are some listeners out there who find the Dallas, Texas native to be unique. But the majority are deeming him as boring and an industry plant. Overall, we are sort of in the middle, as 4batz certainly possesses an interesting delivery. It can lead to some fun and sticky melodies like the ones you’ll hear on “act ii: date @ 8”. In the that same breath, though, he’s lacking a bit in terms of songwriting and ear for production. Hopefully, with all of the high-profile connections he already has, such as Drake, Kanye West, and USHER, he can continue to develop.

He’s certainly in an interesting spot right now, as he’s a few months removed from his debut EP, u made me a st4r. The reviews weren’t favorable, so he can opt for trying something new or try and improve and make his existing approach more interesting. This weekend, 4batz is pretty much opting for the latter with this Lil Baby collab, “roll da dice”. Here, both rappers are showing the willingness to go all in on their love interests and take things to the next level. See if 4batz can you change your opinion about him with the link down below.

Timbaland Works With Rising Talent N3WYRKLA Once Again For “Mind Now” Featuring Skilla Baby

N3WYRKLA is continuing to make a name for herself out on the East Coast, specifically New Jersey. She blends pop rap, R&B, and alterative to create a unique identity. Since launching her professional career in 2023, she’s already gained some notoriety with some established veterans and legends alike. You could argue she got her big break when she got to feature on the most recent album from R&B stalwart Brent Faiyaz, Larger Than Life. Her song with him and A$AP Rocky, “Outside All Night”, has racked up over 52 million streams. Perhaps due to that record, N3WYRKLA is now getting the chance to develop a work relationship with arguably the biggest hitmaking producer of the 2000s, Timbaland.

We covered their first-ever collaboration, “CH3RRY”, and it’s done well with listeners (614,090 streams) and our readers since its June release. Now, we are covering the latest N3WYRKLA and Timbo effort, “mind now”. But this time, she’s recruiting another artist for this release. Skilla Baby, one of the most in-demand guests right now, is coming along for this “messy” love cut. N3WYRKLA is playing the role of one of the Detroit MC’s other options. He’s having a hard time deciding whether or not he wants to date the singer or his “girlfriend”. N3WYRKLA is done with the mind games and wants Skilla to make up his mind and now.
