Another Arrest Has Been Made In PnB Rock’s Murder As Police Continue The Search For Freddie Trone

Another arrest has been made In PnB Rock’s murder as police continue the search for Freddie Lee Trone, according to HipHopDX via LAPD Online. Trone’s 32-year-old wife Shauntel Trone was arrested in Gardena on Tuesday (September 27) on suspicion of accessory to murder. Police also arrested a 17-year-old, Freddie’s son and Shauntel’s stepson, and charged him with actually firing the shots that killed the Philadelphia rapper. Police are still searching for Freddie, believed to be the getaway driver, and have warned Angelenos that he is “armed and dangerous.”

According to police, it is believed that Freddie and his son were already parked at the Roscoe’s House Of Chicken ‘N Waffles where they accosted Rock and demanded that he hand over his jewelry as he ate lunch with his girlfriend. This contradicted prior theories that the alleged killers had tracked the rapper through his social media posts. While police entertained the possibility that he’d been targeted by enemies from Philadelphia or even Atlanta, the truth turned out to be more mundane.

PnB Rock previously talked about being confronted by some local tough guys in LA, telling DJ Akademiks that robberies of rappers were becoming more common — a theory that LA OG Ice-T corroborated on Twitter a few days after Rock’s death.

PNB Rock Murder: Police Identify Teen As Shooter, Father As Getaway Driver

Police arrested the 17-year-old son of Trone on Tuesday in Gardena, according to TMZ. LAPD reps said the son was the shooter while the father acted as a the getaway driver.

Sources said that the son and father duo were already in the Roscoe’s parking lot when PNB Rock arrived.

The revelation of the suspects location prior to the shooting eliminates theories of social media’s role in the attack. Police said that his girlfriend shared a photo of their meal with the geolocation 20 minutes before he was shot. Fans suspected she was at fault for his death. The flurry of commentary that followed prompted varying opinions on the safety of rappers in the Instagram era.

Police explained the son ran into the establishment where he robbed PNB Rock of his jewelry before fatally shooting the rapper. From there, he fled the scene, hopping into the vehicle with his father, and burning the car.

Family and friends of the late rapper gathered on September 21st in Philadelphia for a traditional Muslim burial service.

PnB Rock’s Alleged Murderer, A 17-Year-Old, Has Been Arrested And Their Dad Is Wanted By The Police

Los Angeles police have identified a pair of suspects in the murder of Philadelphia rapper PnB Rock, arresting one, according to TMZ. The LAPD says it has arrested a 17-year-old for shooting and killing PnB Rock at Roscoe’s House Of Chicken ‘N Waffles in South Los Angeles on September 12, while another suspect, the boy’s father, is still wanted. Police say the man, Freddie Lee Trone, drove the getaway car after the fatal shots were fired and have put out a photo for more information. After escaping with Rock’s jewelry, police say the killers burned the getaway car.

In addition, a new theory has emerged about how the rapper was targeted. Police now believe that the father and son were already in the parking lot when the rapper arrived, removing the possibility that he was targeted due to his social media posts. Fans were quick to speculate that social media played a role in the rapper’s death, likely due to the murder of Pop Smoke during a home invasion in 2020. In that case, the killers were said to have learned the address of his rental home from a video he posted on his Instagram Story.

Police also looked into the possibility that Rock’s established enemies had set up a hit; now, it appears that the attack was nothing more than a crime of opportunity.

PNB Rock Murder Suspect Identified, Police Say He’s “Armed & Dangerous”: Report

LAPD made an arrest in the case of PNB Rock’s murder, though a second suspect is still at large.

A police bulletin on Tuesday identified Freddie Lee Trone as a suspect in the rapper’s murder, NBC L.A Reports. Though they believe he’s armed and dangerous. However, there are few details surrounding Trone’s involvement available yet. Authorities described the suspect as a member of a Los Angeles street gang.

Police said they arrested another suspect near Gardena on Tuesday morning, though they haven’t released a name yet.

LAPD haven’t determined the roles of the suspect, since they believe the second person involved served as a getaway driver.

The culprits robbed and killed PNB Rock on Sept. 12th at Roscoe’s in Inglewood. Shortly after the rapper’s death, police said they haven’t ruled out social media’s role in the incident. Police said his girlfriend’s Instagram post revealing their location could’ve led to his death.

Police said the Instagram post shared 20 minutes before the attack may have led the suspects to the restaurant. Authorities suggested there was a good chance that that the Instagram post potentially put a target on PNB Rock’s back.

Additionally, the police investigation focused on PNB Rock’s beefs. With ties to Philadelphia and Atlanta, police suggested that the rapper’s past feuds may have led to his death.

We’ll continue to keep you posted on any more updates surrounding the arrests in PNB Rock’s murder case.
