Jay-Z’s NFL Partnership Will Continue Despite Super Bowl 2025 Backlash

Despite all of the controversy currently surrounding Jay-Z and the Super Bowl, the Roc Nation owner will continue to produce the Halftime Show, according to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Bloomberg reports that Goodell discussed the partnership during the NFL annual owners meeting, which was hosted in Atlanta earlier this week.

Reportedly, he described his relationship with Jay-Z, Roc Nation, and its Chief Executive Officer Desiree Perez as “mutually positive.” He added that everyone involved is content. “I’m not sure either one of us really spend much time talking about contracts,” Goodell also explained. “Jay is happy. Desiree Perez is happy. I’m happy, so we’re all good.”

Rihanna’s Super Bowl Halftime Show was one of the most-watched in history, with a staggering 118.7 million viewers.

Next year, Kendrick Lamar is scheduled to take the stage, which sparked serious backlash after it was announced last month. Many argue that the opportunity should have gone to Lil Wayne, as the show will take place in his hometown. Doja Cat is teaming up with Airbnb to provide fans with the opportunity for a unique stay in West Hollywood, California, fully curated by her. The experience will allow fans an intimate look at personal items such as Doja’s grandmother’s paintings, meals incorporating her favorite foods, and more. She’ll also be putting on a performance in the living room, that will consist of “new songs or some of my all-time faves.”

On the Airbnb page for the stay, she writes: “Welcome to my brain! I curated the look and feel of an entire house to match my aesthetic—the ambiance, the design, the menu, and of course, the music for the evening. DMX’s Estate & Artist Legacy Group Team Up To Ensure Late Rapper’s Music “Lives On”

It’s been a little over three years since friends, family, and fans said goodbye to DMX, who passed away at the age of 50 following a drug overdose. His undeniable impact on multiple genres means he’s still celebrated today by those close to him. To ensure that the late hitmaker’s legacy lives on, his estate has now partnered with Artist Legacy Group (ALG), an estate management firm that works to preserve the legacies of late icons.

CEO Ashley Austin shared the news, promising to “ensure that his message and music live on.” According to ALG, they already have various “innovative projects” in the works for DMX. Further details of those projects have yet to be revealed, though it’s safe to say that fans can’t wait.

This is far from the first time supporters will have seen the legacy of DMX celebrated following his passing, however. Last month, Five Finger Death Punch unveiled a deluxe edition of their 2022 album AfterLife, complete with a posthumous feature from DMX. “This Is the Way,” quickly managed to top Hard Rock charts, a first for the late rapper. According to guitarist Zoltan Bathory, he had a DMX collaboration in mind for years, though their schedules never lined up. He told Loudwire that the band eventually got a hold of some of his master recordings, which they fused with their own style to create the song.

The Ruff Ryders Entertainment crew also visited DMX’s grave at Yonkers’ Oakland Cemetery in April, where they honored the late artist by reflecting on some of his most memorable moments. Diddy Loses Charter School Partnership Amid Fallout From Sexual Abuse Lawsuits

Diddy’s partnership with Capital Preparatory Harlem Charter School has come to an end following the three sexual assault lawsuits filed against him, earlier this month. Dr. Steve Perry, the founder and head of the school, made an official announcement on the school’s website, on Tuesday. The Shade Room shared the statement on Instagram.

Perry wrote: “Following a comprehensive evaluation, a decision has been made to end the partnership between Capital Preparatory Schools and Sean Combs. While this decision was not made lightly, we firmly believe it is in the best interest of our organization’s health and future.” Diddy helped launch the school back in 2016 and made a $1 million donation towards funding the school’s Bronx location in 2021.

A spokesperson denied both allegations in a statement: “These are fabricated claims falsely alleging misconduct from over 30 years ago and filed at the last minute. This is nothing but a money grab. Because of Mr. Combs’ fame and success, he is an easy target for anonymous accusers who lie without conscience or consequence for financial benefit.” The lawsuits all arrived just before New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which extends the statute of limitations, expired last Thursday. According to a press release, Rick Ross and Meek Mill will be joining forces for a joint project. Rozay announced a new partnership with gamma., a social media platform driven by artists and creatives co-founded by Larry Jackson. Given that Rick Ross has left Atlantic Records, he’s embarked on a journey as an independent artist. His new partnership with gamma. will see him spearhead a number of projects with the first being his joint project with Meek Mill.
