Gunna continues to promote his new album, One Of Wun, showing that there’s always work to be done to keep the momentum of a project moving. Two weeks ago, he released the video for the title track, and today, he follows up with the video for “Today I Did Good,” showing off all the hard work it takes to stay on top of his game.
The video follows a day in Gunna’s life, seen from his perspective (complete with a blinking eye effect!) as he breakfasts at a hotel in Rome, takes in a fashion show, boards a plane to Johannesburg in South Africa to shoot a video with Tyla, heads to London, then pulls up to Ohio State University to perform the first show of his Bittersweet Tour, and finally heads to Los Angeles for a photoshoot. And yes, all this is done in the space of a day, once you account for time zones. When exactly he sleeps remains a mystery, and honestly, I hope he’s scheduling enough downtime to ensure that getting enough rest.

There’s been a lot of speculation about Gunna and Young Thug’s relationship in recent months, particularly as the latter sits behind bars amid his RICO trial. Despite Gunna being arrested in the same indictment, he was released at the end of 2022, prompting rumors that he “snitched” on his codefendents. He denies this, though that’s done little to quell critics’ suspicions.
Regardless, Gunna insists he still has a solid relationship with Young Thug. He even seems to be on great terms with his father. The hitmaker unveiled a new music video for his track “One Of Wun” earlier this week, and Jeffery Williams Sr. makes an appearance. The basketball-themed visual also features Tyran Stokes, Brandon McCoy Jr., Parker Robinson, Jayden Wilkins, and Romelo Hill from Overtime Elite.
Young Thug’s Dad Speaks Facts In Gunna’s New Music Video
While fans are certainly glad to see Williams Sr. in Gunna’s latest video, they’re not necessarily surprised. In June, he was spotted turning up at the “fukumean” performer’s show in Atlanta as the rest of the crowd cheered him on. Obviously, he’s still cool with Gunna, despite whatever critics may have to say about it. He even came to the hitmaker’s defense amid snitching rumors last year, insisting that Gunna didn’t turn his back on his son.
“I love Gunna,” he told Infamous Sylvia. “Gunna hasn’t done anything whatsoever that can hurt us on this case. Period.” Gunna also claimed that the case hasn’t harmed his relationship with the YSL founder during an interview with XXL this year, insisting that nothing has changed. “It’s the same. It’s love, always,” he told the outlet at the time. What do you think of Gunna’s new music video for his track “One Of Wun”? What about Young Thug’s father, Jeffery Williams Sr., making an appearance in the basketball-themed video? Gunna is giving his latest album One of Wun its fourth set of visuals, as he drops the music video for the title track this weekend. This is follows up on his Atlanta tribute piece for “back to the a”, which is now a month old. Other cuts from his fifth studio effort to receive such treatment include “whatsapp (wassam)” and the most successful collaboration “prada dem” featuring Offset. In the music video for “one of wun”, the most popular track on the record, Gunna commands each sideline on the basketball court. It appears to be a big-time matchup as well, especially just based on the talent that’s on display. According to Uproxx, almost all of the basketball players are sought after high school recruits.
Additionally, there are some Overtime Elite hoopers, a league ran by a sports media company of the same name. It’s helped some athletes reach the NBA level such as recent lottery pick Alex Sarr. If you are wondering who makes appearances in Gunna’s video these are your stars. They are Tyran Stokes, Brandon McCoy Jr., Parker Robinson, Jayden Wilkins, and Romelo Hill. The first two are the top two high school stars in the country, while the latter are all OTE players. Making this a clever video is the fact that it relates to this bar from Gunna, “Think all about how they want me to lose, but I’m W, due for a win“. He literally does take an L and a W at the same, which adds a smidge of comedy into the mix. You can check out the video with the link below.
In the video for the title track from Gunna‘s new album, One Of Wun, the Atlanta rapper takes on dual roles, playing both coaches in a high-stakes basketball game between two teams at the Overtime Elite youth basketball league arena. Each version of Gunna is a different coaching stereotype; one is cool, calm, and calculating, while the other is bombastic and demonstrative on the sideline.
Rather than playing out with one team losing and one winning, however, the split-screen video (directed by Spike Jordan) ends with both outcomes, playing on the chorus lyric, “Think all about how they want me to lose, but I’m W, due for a win.” In the end, Gunna gets to have his cake and eat it too, winning no matter what.
A whole slew of real-life rising star high schoolers appears in the video as themselves, including the #1 and #2 ranked players in the country, Tyran Stokes of Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, CA and Brandon McCoy Jr. of St. John Bosco in Bellflower, CA (respectively), and OTE players Parker Robinson, Jayden Wilkins, and Romelo Hill.

Though it doesn’t appear on his latest album One Of Wun, Gunna’s “Bittersweet” couldn’t be more representative of his current era. With somber guitar strums as the backdrop, Gunna reflects on life’s past dealings, his reluctant acceptance of it, and how it all changed his outlook on fame, optimism towards better days, ability to trust, and much more. If the Atlanta rapper’s 2023 album A Gift & A Curse was a comeback album of sorts, re-establishing Gunna as a beloved artist and granting him a song of the summer title thanks to “F*kumean,” then One Of Wun solidifies and cements the artist that emerged from the YSL RICO trial fire which changed the way many fans and collaborators viewed the rap star.
Gunna approaches the record like a winter breeze – dry, straightforward, and undeterred by the circumstances. “Got me a taste of this fame, it was sweet, now it’s bitter,” he quips on “Bittersweet” before expounding on this point with lines like “Careful with your choices ’cause you can’t make it twice” and “N****s show they hate before they do something positive.” It’s only fitting that Gunna’s now-concluded The Bittersweet Tour shares a name with the somber pre-One Of Wun single. The month-long run of shows proved that Gunna’s status as a top-level hip-hop figure was still intact despite the snitching allegations he weathered and has continued to since his winter 2022 prison release.
Gunna was supposed to celebrate these moments with the same cast of peers-turned-brothers that he was often beside from the underground days of Drip Season 2 to his breakout with Drip Season 3 to his chart-topping moments with DS4EVER. Nowadays, these names, which include Lil Baby, Young Thug, Lil Durk, Future, and others are not only nowhere to be found beside Gunna, but they’ve also seemingly taken a stance next to Young Thug and the snitching allegations lodged against Gunna. These, among other things, are where the bittersweet feelings Gunna speaks from are rooted in. Just recently, after Gunna confirmed that he is still signed to YSL Records, Young Thug, the label’s founder, seemingly responded in a tweet, writing, “whateva wham say goes.” “Wham” is a nickname for Lil Baby which led to fans resurfacing a video of Baby at a music video shoot where it appears that he dissed Gunna. “N****s taking pleas, I know that Slime ain’t happy,” Baby raps in the video. Everything changed for the Atlanta star, just as things were getting good for him. If that isn’t bittersweet, I don’t know what is.
Back against the wall and with resources thinner than usual, Gunna came back swinging with A Gift & A Curse and One Of Wun, projects that impressed and showcased his ability to stand above adversity and triumph above critics. First-time collaborations with the likes of Normani, Tyla, IDK, Leon Bridges, Victor Thompson, and Sarz replaced his work with once-frequent collaborators mentioned earlier. DS4EVER teased this, but Gunna’s work with these artists added a new layer of diversity to his artistry. His style is unique and present in enough ways to be paired with artists in different lanes. Additionally, it proved that Gunna is a sought-after artist who will not fade into the background anytime soon.
The Bittersweet Tour is proof of this, too. Though the tour is highly similar to his A Gift and A Curse 2023 one-off shows in New York and Los Angeles, respectively, bringing these performances nationwide allowed fans who stuck by Gunna to see that a new era for the rapper is in progress. Furthermore, Gunna gave attendees a slew of memorable moments to walk out with by the end of the night. There was the silky smooth pairing of “South To West” and “On One Tonight” tied together by a satisfying transition, the performances of beloved YSL collaborations like “Hot,” “Ski,” “Pushin P,” “Oh Okay,” and more, and the explosive transition between “F*kumean” and “Rodeo Dr” brought to life for everyone who loved the experience it offered on A Gift & A Curse. There was something for every Gunna fan on The Bittersweet Tour.
After a string of electric performances, Gunna ends The Bittersweet Tour performances with a period of reflection through performances of his more introspective songs. Accounts of drug addictions which led to health scares and his current healthy lifestyle are given through “Livin Wild.” Next is “Time Reveals, Be Careful What You Wish For,” a two-part track that begins as a rags-to-riches tale for Gunna, tied with the newfound realization of life’s true meaning, before winding into a cautionary tale about the perils of fame. “Who You Foolin,” a fan-favorite, follows as it disposes of Gunna’s naivety and highlights his longtime experience in the game. Finally, the night closes with Victor Thompson & Ehis ‘D’ Greatest’s “Blessings” which Gunna remixed last year. The record is anchored by a line the trio sings together: “Everything I’ve been wanting, manifesting for my life.” Gunna has everything he’s worked towards attaining for the better part of a decade, and though it was nearly taken from him, it’s overcoming these hardships that allow you carry a title like “One Of Wun.” Gunna is that, and though it’s bittersweet, it’s still good enough to relish in. A smile and a wave goodbye to fans in attendance at the The Bittersweet Tour proves that he’s doing just that.
Gunna’s album One Of Wun, is one of the best hip-hop albums of 2024 so far, and the Atlanta superstar is keeping its momentum going with the video for “Back In The A.” As the title suggests, the contemplative clip finds Gunna back in his hometown (albeit in a hotel room), surrounded by the high-end clothing and accessories for which he’s earned his reputation as one of hip-hop’s most fashion-forward faces.
Gunna just wrapped up his Bittersweet Tour at the State Farm Arena in his hometown — making the release of “Back In The A” even more fitting — and fans were amused to see a familiar face among the fans in attendance. Jeffrey Williams Sr., the father of Gunna’s mentor Young Thug, was front row at the concert, cheering harder than almost anyone after previously defending Gunna from accusations of snitching from former partner-in-rhyme Lil Baby.
“Back In The A” is the third single from One Of Wun, following the March release of “Prada Dem” with Offset and the May release of “WhatsApp (Wassam),” which he dropped to announce the album’s release date.

Gunna has released a music video for his One Of Wun hit song, “back in the a,” which sees him take to the streets of Atlanta. He shows himself performing in the city, riding in a cavalcade of cars, and more. Leff, who handled the direction of the video, shot it on location in the rapper’s hometown. One Of Wun marks Gunna’s second album since his release from prison in the still-ongoing YSL Rico case. He first dropped A Gift & a Curse back in 2023. He’s currently performing on the Bittersweet Tour in promotion of both projects. He likely filmed the music video while he was in town to perform, earlier this month, at the State Farm Arena.
Fans on YouTube have been loving the release. “Wunna’s 2023-24 run was legendary, should be in the history books of music,” one user commented. Another wrote: “My interpretation of this song was that apart from his home city, Back in the A to me means he’s come back from prison to being A-list again. His talent is undefeated love him or hate him.” In addition to the new release, Gunna also appeared in the latest episode of Spotify’s series, Day In The Life, on Monday. In doing so, he traveled to his childhood home to discuss the importance of family, his plans for another album, and more. He remarked that he wants his next project to be more intimate than ever before. LUCKI, Rick Ross, Sexxy Red, GloRilla and more artists have all made appearances on prior episodes of the show. Be on the lookout for further updates on Gunna on HotNewHipHop.
Four-time Grammy Award-nominated, multi-platinum Atlanta rap superstar Gunna returns to the top of multiple charts with his acclaimed fifth studio album One of Wun! It notably bows at #2 on the Billboard 200, becoming his fifth consecutive Top 5 debut on the respective chart. Additionally, it captures #1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart. Not to mention, it stands out as the #1 debut of the week and #1 biggest week for a Warner Music Group album in 2024 so far.
On DSPs, it notches a #1 Spotify Global and U.S. debut in addition to vaulting to #1 on Apple Music in 44 countries. Thus far, it has generated 170 million global streams.
Right now, Gunna is canvasing the country with sold out shows on ‘The Bittersweet Tour.’ It kicked off on May 4 in Columbus, OH at Schottenstein Center, with 16 stops across the U.S. in Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, Houston, Miami and more before wrapping up with a hometown performance in Atlanta at State Farm Arena on June 11.
The artwork for One of Wun was created by Calvin Clausell Jr., featuring creative direction by Spike Jordan of The Genius Club, as well as art direction and design by Tal Midyan.
Gunna is an artist who can be described as “consistent.” Overall, he typically drops at least one project every year. Those projects seem to be massive successes, as we saw with a gift & a curse. Some outlets even said that it was the best hip-hop project of that year. Although we respectfully disagree, it still made out year-end list, and for obvious reasons. Just a couple of weeks ago, Gunna came through with his latest project, One Of Wun. The album already has some viral singles, and fans are loving it.
Throughout the last week, HitsDailyDouble has come through with numerous sales projections for the album’s first week. Interestingly enough, the album wasn’t projected to do great at first. The OG projection was 65K which is 20K less than what a gift & a curse did. However, throughout the week, that number increased steadily but surely. The most recent update had the first week sales at 83K. Well, the final numbers are in, and once again, Gunna outperformed what was expected.
One of Wun has officially sold 91K units in its first week. Typically, that would be enough to be the number-one album. Unfortunately, Taylor Swift has taken over thanks to her numerous digital versions of The Tortured Poets Department. Having said that, Gunna will debut at number two, which is nothing to turn your head at. It is clear that fans are feeling Gunna’s music right now, and it’s reflecting in the sales.
Let us know what you thought of One of Wun, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that this is one of Gunna’s best projects to date? Do you think that this is likely going to go down as one of the best projects of the entire year? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.
Gunna’s first week sales for One Of Wun are officially here, and given previous projections, it exceeded commercial performance expectations this time around. To rewind the clock for a second, 2023’s A Gift & A Curse debuted with around 85,000 album equivalent units. This 2024 release, on the other hand, just barely missed out on surpassing it, as One Of Wun‘s first week sales comprised of just under 83,000 units. According to HITS Daily Double, it will debut at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 behind Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department, and thus will be the highest-charting debut for new albums this week.
Furthermore, this is pretty much a big win for Gunna all things considered, especially as he’s spoken about focusing more on his craft and his substance than his hit-making or commercial potential. In fact, he even told TMZ that the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef that raged on while his album dropped didn’t faze him in the slightest. The College Park rapper said that he prioritized focus during this whole process, which rendered him unbothered by whatever else was going on in the rap space. Clearly, that focus pays off, and hopefully inspires other artists to just stick to themselves and to not let outside forces deter them.
Meanwhile, this is a massive year for Gunna in many other areas, not least of which is his ongoing tour. There have been many great moments throughout, despite some other issues like rowdy and disrespectful fans and what seemed like faulty venue upkeep. But for the most part, it’s been a big hit, and a nice run that captures his momentum from the past few years. The comeback has been intriguing and sharp to say the least, especially considering all the snitching claims that loom much farther in the background than they did before.
In addition, Gunna also has his new clothing line to look forward to, which might be the most exciting new venture of them all. No matter what he’s got on his plate, it seems like he’s able to stay afloat and concentrated throughout it all. Wunna has stuck around more than some folks gave him credit for, and there are plenty of other ways in which he plans to stay. Let’s hope that they result in some great art and fulfilling moves as we continue to spin One Of Wun.
