Aubrey O’Day Shares Song She Wrote About Diddy A Decade Ago

Aubrey O’Day has been a very outspoken voice against Diddy even before this wave of hefty allegations, and she recently sought to show it. Moreover, she shared an old 2013 track of hers on social media which talks about her strained relationship with him as a result of her getting fired from Danity Kane and the debacle that ensued. The lyrics touch on “no escape,” dead ends, debt, and the singer wishing that she never got in that situation in the first place. It’s hard to connect all the dots with this brief snippet down below, but it’s still an interesting retrospective.

“The purpose of justice is to provide an ending and allow us the space to create a new chapter,” Aubrey O’Day tweeted after Diddy’s arrest. “Women never get this. I feel validated. Today is a win for women all over the world, not just me. Things are finally changing.” “He did worse than that to me,” she responded to a reporter who noted how folks criticized her for her previous condemnations against him. “And thank you Yashir for this post. Appreciate you being in my corner and believing me. Xo.”

Aubrey O’Day’s Old Diddy Song

“There’s no vindication for anyone to have,” Aubrey O’Day expressed concerning the Diddy and Cassie hotel video. “Sadly, if you’re a victim of anyone at any point in time in life, this will ring true to you: There’s no such thing as vindication. It never goes away. It’s never better. And even when people are exposed, it doesn’t take away the experience. I suppose [being vindicated] gives you more credibility. But if you believe in yourself, anyone else’s belief in you doesn’t really matter much anyway. So, no, I don’t feel that.”

Diddy did not apologize to Cassie,” Aubrey O’Day said of his apology to his former partner. “He apologized to the world for seeing what he did. He says he’s ‘disgusted w himself now, and he was disgusted w himself then’.. but apparently he wasn’t disgusted enough w himself to not PIN this statement out calling her a liar & denying all of it.. leave god and mercy out of this, they aren’t present here, and you know it.”

Kendrick Lamar Reference Track For Baby Keem Allegedly Surfaces Online

There’s a lot of conversation around reference tracks these days, particularly due to some recent leaks of songs that people have apparently helped Drake in making. However, a reference track doesn’t necessarily indicate a lyrical ghostwriter, so maybe The Boy’s gotten some undue hate for his references from PARTYNEXTDOOR, Lil Yachty, and more. Regardless, there’s a lot of debate over whether borrowing cadences or taking prompted and consensual inspiration from other artists is the same as using someone else’s lyrics. Either way, the discussion gets even murkier when you try to hold folks to a double standard, as Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem allegedly proved recently through a leak that writing for others is pretty common.

Moreover, a new alleged reference track surfaced online, and it’s Kendrick Lamar’s take on Baby Keem’s 2019 track “BULLIES” off of DIE FOR MY B***H. You can hear it by clicking the “Via” link down below, and there’s no real confirmation of whether or not this is A.I., who wrote which parts, etc. But it sounds pretty legit as opposed to other allegedly debunked leaks, and you can make the judgement call for yourself, but it’s pretty interesting to see the formation of Keem’s mixtape. We also know that they’ve collaborated on a lot of tracks in the past, so this isn’t really a surprising alleged leak.

Furthermore, there have been other leaks from Kendrick Lamar recently, which resurfaced right before he responded to Drake with “Euphoria.” But these concerned more unreleased material and earlier versions of some of his own cuts, so it’s not a one-to-one comparison here. Still, folks have different goalposts for how to perceive, interpret, and critique the use of writers. Is it only relevant when you claim to be the GOAT like Drizzy or is it reprehensible no matter your fame or the nature of your song?

After all, it’s one thing to ghostwrite or give the flow for “BULLIES” and it would be another thing entirely than, say, a more lyrically dense and personal song like the “family ties” verse. While a lot of the conversation is around Drake right now, some fans need to realize this is more of a commonality than what the industry puts on. Kendrick Lamar may be the “ghostwriter” here, but no one is immune to some accusations, inspiration, and uncredited influence. Like many other elements of the rap world, it’s just a case by case basis for the most part.

XXXTentacion’s “let’s pretend we’re numb” Added To Streaming

XXXTentacion is someone who has become a legendary figure in the music world. Although, his standing in the music world is certainly controversial. Throughout his young career, he was hit with allegations of abuse. Consequently, there are many who refuse to listen to his music. Overall, it is easy to see why people would feel this way. However, it would be disingenuous not to point out that he also has millions of fans. Unfortunately, any mention of his alleged transgressions will subsequently lead to an angry mob of these same fans coming after you.

With that being said, XXXTentacion’s estate is still preoccupied with coming out with new tracks every now and then. Although some people are upset about posthumous music, it still keeps happening with X. However, the latest release to come from the deceased artist is not a new album or a new song. In fact, it is a song from 2015 that had just never hit streaming before. Of course, we are talking about “let’s pretend we’re numb.”

XXXTentacion Pours His Heart Out

Overall, this is yet another XXXTentacion track in which he truly puts his thoughts, feelings, and emotions on full display. The young artist had a range of styles. Sometimes, he could go into a full-on hardcore punk cadence, while other times he would sing. However, on this track, he just dropped bars, almost as if it we’re a freestyle. Not to mention, at barely 90 seconds in length, this was yet another short cut from the artist.

For now, there doesn’t seem to be any plans for more posthumous releases. In the eyes of some fans, that is probably a good thing. Either way, you can now enjoy this old track on your favorite streaming service. Let us know what you think of “let’s pretend we’re numb,” in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world.

Quotable Lyrics:

Captivated by your mind and your walk too
Can’t replace you with these bitches that I talk to

I should’ve held you close, should’ve kept you warm
