Savannah James Uses Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” For Instagram Story Featuring LeBron & Bronny

Recently, Savannah James took to her Instagram Story to share a sweet photo of herself alongside LeBron and their kids. This post might appear to be innocent enough. Social media users were quick to notice, however, that it was accompanied by Kendrick Lamar’s track “Not Like Us.” The post has now been deleted.

The choice of song was interesting on Savannah’s part, considering some of the rumors surrounding her husband in recent months. It’s been speculated that Drake has beef with LeBron and Savannah, and while this is unconfirmed, LeBron has been spotted on various occasions rapping along to Kendrick’s Drake diss tracks, attended the Pop Out, and more. Savannah was even seen rocking a pgLang t-shirt at the Olympics. This then led to theories that she too has issues with the Toronto rapper

A few weeks ago, Drake also unfollowed LeBron, along with Metro Boomin, Joe Budden, DeMar DeRozan, Playboi Carti, and Kendrick Lamar. While this didn’t totally confirm the rumors, it certainly fueled them, and even potentially earned a response from LeBron. The Lakers Daily Twitter account posted footage of LeBron warming up to Drake’s music the day after reports of the unfollow surfaced, which may or may not have been related.

Drake and LeBron’s rumored beef has earned mixed reactions from social media users. While some believe that Drake has a right to be upset with those who have turned their backs on him, others think he’s being too sensitive. Earlier this month, Joe Budden also called Drake out, and questioned how good of a friend he really is if so many people were willing to join in on the “20 V 1.” What do you think of Savannah James posting an Instagram Story featuring Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us”? Drake Reportedly Laughed The First Time He Heard This “Not Like Us” Bar

Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” will go down as an all-time diss song. It will be mentioned in top fives for the rest of time, alongside Tupac’s “Hit ‘Em Up” and Ice Cube’s “No Vaseline.” The song was catchy, and its target, Drake, was somebody that fans were eager to see take an L. And so it happened. The dust has settled on “Not Like Us,” though, and podcast host Mal recently shared exclusive intel as to how Drake reacted when he first heard the song. Mal claimed the 6 God actually laughed, and revealed which bar incited the laughter.

Mal, who has a personal relationship with Drake, talked about his perspective during the beef. He stated that he spoke with Drake about diss records while they were being released, but he never knew when the records would be dropping. “We don’t really talk about the sh*t as much as people think,” he said. “We’d laugh at certain sh*t… like when we heard certain songs.” Mal then pointed to Lamar’s “Not Like Us” as a prime example. “I had texted [Drake] the bar,” the podcaster recalled. “And we just started laughing.” He then shared the bar, which saw Lamar take aim at Drake’s OVO acronym. “What OVO stand for, the other vaginal options,” the Compton rapper asked on record.

Mal And Drake Were Both Confused By Dot’s Wordplay

“What is the other vaginal option,” Mal asserted. “Why don’t we talk about that bar?” The podcaster’s point caused the rest of the panel to laugh and concede that they were unclear on the bar’s meaning as well. They then took it a step further, and posited that Lamar’s claim about Drake being a “69 God” is not inherently a bad thing. “What’s wrong with being a 69 God,” they wondered aloud. This is only the latest instance of Kendrick Lamar getting pushback for “Not Like Us” in recent days.

The Compton rapper talked about his Drake diss during a profile with Harper’s Bazaar. He claimed that the song was meant to represent his energy, and the man he is. He shied away from discussing the more heinous allegations that the song makes against Drake. This explanation did not go over well with fans or critics. Many felt the rapper was failing to take responsibility for his words. Others, like Adam22 and DJ Akademiks, put Lamar on blast for getting “softball” questions from former label mate SZA instead of agreeing to an interview with a real journalist.

Kendrick Lamar Explaining What ‘Not Like Us’ Means To Him Might As Well Be More Shots Fired At Drake

While Kendrick Lamar’s Drake diss song “Not Like Us” has been a massive hit since their dust up this spring, fans have been wrestling with the meaning of its titular phrase all along. Obviously Drake is “not like us,” but just who is “us,” and what are they like? In explaining the title of his hit, K. Dot might as well have fired more shots at his onetime rival.

In an interview with his former TDE labelmate SZA for Harper’s Bazaar, Kendrick was asked to explain “what does ‘Not Like Us’ mean to you?”

“Not like us is the energy of who I am, the type of man I represent,” he replied. When asked what kind of man that is, he elaborated, “This man has morals, he has values, he believes in something, he stands on something. He’s not pandering. He’s a man who can recognize his mistakes and not be afraid to share the mistakes and can dig deep down into fear-based ideologies or experiences to be able to express them without feeling like he’s less of a man.”

All of which implies that he doesn’t think Drake is that kind of person. One day, someone’s got to get the real story on just what transpired between the two rappers that Kendrick was willing to go on such a terror campaign against the Canadian.

The BET Hip-Hop Awards success comes as rumors continue to circulate about Lamar working on a new album. His former TDE labelmate, SZA, recently hinted at a new project being in the works in a post on X (formerly Twitter). Additionally, Terrace Martin confirmed the news while streaming on Instagram Live, earlier this year. “Aye, let me tell y’all the records I’m excited for. I’m excited for YG’s album, I’m excited for Mustard’s album. I’m excited for a lot of people, but there’s two albums, I’m going cr*zy, I can’t wait ’til they drop,” he explained at the time. “Roddy Ricch album and whenever Kendrick drops his album, I’m excited for those two. Those two Compton artists is like, I’m excited. So much sh*t bubbling, you know?”

Kendrick Lamar Earns “Song Of The Year” For “Not Like Us”

On top of working on a new album, Lamar is also gearing up to headline the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show in New Orleans. Much to the dismay of Drake and Lil Wayne fans, the NFL announced him as the leading act, last month. Be on the lookout for further updates on Kendrick Lamar on HotNewHipHop.

Ayesha Curry Poses With Drake Affiliate After “Meet The Grahams” Reference

Kendrick Lamar really put a dent in Drake’s reputation with “Meet the Grahams.” Other disses were more popular, and easier to replay, but the Alchemist-produced single was brutal. Lamar presented a scathing indictment of Drake’s persona and his vices to the world. He also warned famous celebrities to stay away from the 6 God moving forward. These celebs including LeBron James, Steph Curry and their respective families. Which is what makes the recent public appearance by Steph’s wife, Ayesha Curry, so surprising.

Ayesha Curry appeared on the Instagram Story of OVO Mark, a veteran Drake affiliate. The two are seen sitting on the front steps of a house and sipping drinks together. DJ Akademiks took note of this link up and used it to illustrate the fact that Lamar’s advice fell on deaf ears. “OVO Mark with Ayesha Curry,” Ak wrote in the caption. “‘Steph keep the family away’ aging like milk.” Ayesha Curry’s appearance in a bit of a surprise, but those who have kept up with Steph Curry’s comments know that he never turned his back on Drake during the beef.

Ayesha Curry And Steph Curry Continue To Support Drake

Steph Curry voiced his annoyance with another Kendrick Lamar diss, “Not Like Us,” during one of the U.S. Olympic Games. He also sang the praises of the 6 God during an interview with GQ. “I’m a big Drake guy. I’ve been for a long time,” he asserted. “I think obviously you know what it is for the rap industry to have that, but I still rock with Drake. Absolutely. Absolutely.” Curry and his former Warriors teammate, Kevin Durant, have continued to show their support for Drake post-battle. Ironically, the NBA star that Drake was closest with, LeBron James, has done the opposite.

LeBron James gushed about “Not Like Us” during the aforementioned video of Curry dismissing the song. He also appeared in the audience during Lamar’s “Pop Out” show on Juneteenth. Drake appears to have taken notice of this lack of support. He unfollowed James on Instagram, along with Lamar and several other celebs on October 1. That friendship seems severed, but the mutual admiration between Drizzy and the Curry family seems very much intact.

Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” Breaks Yet Another Chart Record After Grammys Submission

Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” continues to break records, as the Drake diss track recently became the song to spend the longest amount of time at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Hot Rap Songs chart across the metric’s 35-year history. For those curious, the previous title defender was Lil Nas X’s 2019 breakout, “Old Town Road.” In the latest tracking week, the West Coast banger streamed 17.1 million times in the United States, garnered 2,000 digital downloads, and received 45.4 million radio audience impressions. As for the Hot 100, “Not Like Us” remains in the top ten (currently at No. 10) in its 21st consecutive week after previously topping the chart.

Furthermore, this song’s continued success is well-timed, as Kendrick Lamar recently submitted it for the Grammys next year. The categories that “Not Like Us” might be nominated for are the following: Record of the Year (production), Song of the Year (songwriting), Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Music Video. He, Future, and Metro Boomin also submitted “Like That” for consideration in all these categories, save for Best Music Video. Finally, K.Dot producer Sounwave said they also submitted “Euphoria,” but it’s unclear what categories they submitted it for consideration for.

Not only that, but this comes as rumors currently go wild over a potential Kendrick Lamar album coming soon. This is because of a recent Bloomberg report that claims that he will go on a stadium tour next year. In addition to this supposed trek, the Compton lyricist’s Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans next February also hints at a possible rollout on the way. Fingers crossed…

In fact, the Bloomberg report claims that both Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna turned down headlining at Coachella in 2025. While the piece attributes Kendrick’s decision to his supposedly upcoming tour and Super Bowl slot, no such explanation emerged for RiRi other than a growing business empire, plus a growing family. As such, we’re still in the dark when it comes to the pgLang creative’s next moves. But it’s clear that a lot of people are still enjoying the heck out of “Not Like Us” in the meantime.

Wack 100 Continues To Deny Accusing Drake Of Sending Kendrick Lamar A Cease And Desist

Last month, a moment from one of Wack 100’s Clubhouse streams made its rounds online. The snippet appeared to show him accusing Drake of sending Kendrick Lamar a cease and desist in an attempt to prevent him from performing “Not Like Us” at the Super Bowl Halftime Show in February. According to him, however, his words were taken completely out of context.

During a recent conversation with Adam22, he explained what actually happened, and denied the No Jumper host’s accusation that he lied about it. Wack claims that he’s in a group chat with various other people, who send clips freely to be discussed on Clubhouse. He says that he simply read the title of one of these clips during the stream, and was not actually claiming it happened. “I never lied about it,” he added.

Wack 100 Insists He “Never Lied”

“I wouldn’t know,” Wack continued. “I don’t represent Kendrick’s business or Drake’s business. So I wouldn’t know what either was sending or receiving on either side unless they told me.” While Wack 100 doesn’t appear to want any part in the conversation, Charlamagne Tha God recently speculated that Drake has taken legal action over the performance.

“If he does ‘Not Like Us’ at the Super Bowl, I want the opening cords and then just the hook,” he theorized on The Breakfast Club last month. “If you think that the NFL and Roc Nation and a bunch of other people didn’t get a whole bunch of legal letters yesterday from people with owls as their stamp. I promise you, you’re not calling me a pedophile at the Super Bowl. I guarantee you, the OVO people sent so many legal letters yesterday.” What do you think of Wack 100 continuing to deny accusing Drake of sending Kendrick Lamar a cease and desist? Kendrick Lamar Officially Submits “Not Like Us” For Grammys 2025 Consideration

Grammys season is upon us, and we already have a list of artists who have submitted their work for consideration at the 2025 awards ceremony. There’s Nicki Minaj with her Pink Friday 2 efforts, Beyoncé with COWBOY CARTER, Megan Thee Stallion’s MEGAN era, Doja Cat with Scarlet 2 CLAUDE… and Kendrick Lamar off of the strength of his sheer “biggest hater” title. Moreover, he submitted “Not Like Us” – and “Like That” alongside Future and Metro Boomin – for multiple categories, including Record/Song of the Year and Best Rap Song/Performance. In the case of the West Coast banger, it’s also up for Best Music Video.

With all that said, someone go hand him a Grammy right now! The Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef remains a very relevant discussion in hip-hop, even if the details these days comprise of petty IG unfollows, chart records, and a whole lot of new album speculation. It’s clear that we’ve moved on from the possibility of a Round 2 (or have we?), and that K.Dot will likely focus on other wider endeavors for his next moves and efforts.

Kendrick Lamar Opens His Mouth

After all, he has a Super Bowl halftime show performance to think about, too. Back to these awards, let’s clarify these Grammys submissions real quick. These aren’t nominations: think of it as a play-in tournament where committees pick between artists’ submissions and decide on the final roster of nominees, which they then deliberate over and vote on to pick a winner. We can’t help but wonder what OVO goons would prefer: a golden gramophone-less night for Kendrick Lamar whether in the nomination or award sense, or a win for him so they can call Drake a prophet for that one “Family Matters” line?

Either way, we’re hesitant to call this Kendrick Lamar’s final victory lap, only because that’s what many folks said about The Pop Out, the “Not Like Us” music video… You get it. Maybe he even sneaks a Drake jab into his upcoming movie. But whether or not this feud is finally over or still has legs, it’s undeniable that the merits of both “Not Like Us” and “Like That” are worthy of the Grammys’ praise far beyond its fighting words.

Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” Ties Billboard Hot Rap Chart Record

Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” Retakes No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100

Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” Retakes No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100

Kendrick Lamar has reached another major milestone as “Not Like Us,” ties the record for the longest-running No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Rap Chart. According to Genius, the track has now spent 20 weeks at the top, equaling the previous record set by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ smash hit “Old Town Road.”

In related news, Drake’s representatives have reportedly denied allegations that he sent Kendrick Lamar a cease-and-desist order to prevent him from performing the song “Not Like Us” at the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show.

These rumors surfaced after Wack 100 suggested that Drake attempted to prevent Lamar’s performance. Wack stated, “He’s trying to get the NFL to restrict Kendrick.”

Wack later clarified his remarks, explaining that he was merely repeating information he had come across. “I read a fcking clip,” Wack said. “I wouldn’t know if Drake sent a cease and desist. Why? Because I don’t represent Kendrick in business or Drake in business, so I wouldn’t know if a cease and desist happened. All I did was read a fcking clip.”

Moreover, a rep for Drake reportedly responded to the claims, saying they are “not true.” The source added, “There was never any intention or plan to send a cease and desist to anyone.”

ICYMI, Kendrick Lamar, who is set to perform at the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show, shared the news with fans earlier, introducing himself in a video: “What the deal everybody, my name is Kendrick Lamar… I’ll be performing at Super Bowl 59. Will you be pulling up?”

He continued and rather sarcastically, “I hope so. You know it’s only one opportunity to win a championship, right? No round twos. I wouldn’t want you to miss it. Meet me in New Orleans [on] February 9, 2025. Wear your best dress too, even if you’re watching from home. Let’s go.”

Lamar also captioned the announcement with, “Super Bowl LIX. New Orleans. February 2025. #AppleMusicHalftime.”
