Today, GRAMMY-nominated R&B superstar Summer Walker (LVRN/Interscope Records) unveils the official music video for her latest hit song, “Heart Of A Woman.” Co-starring multi-platinum rap star NLE Choppa, the video brings to life a dramatic time-loop narrative, where Summer finds herself reliving the same day three times after her partner’s infidelity.

Drawing inspiration from her celebrated trilogy, the video connects the eras of Over ItStill Over It, and the highly anticipated Finally Over It, with each loop. The intense final sequence showcases Summer walking away from the toxic cycle—and from NLE Choppa—leaving both the relationship and its turmoil engulfed in flames.

Fans are treated to an additional surprise as the video opens with a 15 second teaser of a brand-new track, offering a first listen to what’s in store on Finally Over It. Directed by the visionary Lacey Duke, the video masterfully intertwines themes of heartbreak, growth, and empowerment.

Summer’s upcoming album, Finally Over It, marks the culmination of her Over It trilogy, which has become a defining chapter of her R&B reign. The trilogy began with her groundbreaking debut Over It in 2019 and continued with her 2021 Billboard 200 chart-topping sophomore effort Still Over It. Each project has resonated with fans, chronicling the emotional highs and lows of love and self-discovery.

In addition to the new video, Summer made her Apple Music Radio debut with her new six-episode radio series, Over It Radio. In her debut episodes, she connected with special guests like Sexyy Redd and Yung Miami, diving into topics of relationships, motherhood, and entrepreneurship, while hinting at new music on the horizon.

Summer Walker Literally Burns Her Bridge With NLE Choppa In Tense Visual For “Heart Of A Woman”

Summer Walker is really capitalizing on her upcoming album title Finally Over It with this new visual. Moments ago, the Georgia R&B singer-songwriter put out a music video for “Heart Of A Woman,” the project’s lead single. It hit streaming platforms back in October and it’s become a fan-favorite already. It’s got sharp storytelling and thematic consistency to the album, something that is always a plus. On the track, the 28-year-old GRAMMY nominee is stuck in this vicious cycle of her man doing a lot of detrimental things to their relationship. However, Summer continues to go back to him. It’s a painful but vocally stunning track and one that has us eagerly awaiting the rest of the LP.

Right now, a release date has yet to be determined, but we assume it’s going to arrive in early 2025. While we wait, we do have this music video to chew over and it’s tense and excellently directed. It plays out the lyrics of the track very accurately, as Summer continues to experience this same gut-wrenching day three times in her head. We learn that her partner commits an act of infidelity at a photoshoot that he’s also attending. In a fun twist, NLE Choppa plays her fictional boyfriend. Things continue to spiral for Summer though, as she at one point smashes a bottle on his head. However, after replaying the image in her head a third time, she decides to end things for good. While NLE takes a shower, Summer dumps gasoline in a room and drops a lit cigarette onto the floor. The fire alarm goes off before the video cuts to black. It’s chilling and it builds the world for this album perfectly.

Summer Walker’s ‘Waiting To Exhale’-Inspired ‘Heart Of A Woman’ Video Stars NLE Choppa As Her Philandering Beau

A fed-up Summer Walker grabs the gas can in an homage to ’90s Black cinema. Even if you haven’t seen the 1995 Angela Bassett vehicle, you can probably predict how the video for Walker’s single “Heart Of A Woman” ends. NLE Choppa stars as her cheating beau, who ends up with a smoldering heap where his designer clothes used to be after stepping out one too many times.

The video opens with Walker in her boudoir watching anime, when a buzzing iPhone sends her to the shower to confront a naked (safe for work) NLE Choppa. However, he convinces her to forgive him; after a few more cycles, though, Walker reaches the end of her rope, with fiery results.

“Heart Of A Woman” is the lead single from Walker’s upcoming third studio album, Finally Over It. Due for release in 2025, the album appears to be the final piece of her coming-of-age romantic trilogy. Its release is set to be accompanied by the launch of an Apple Music Radio station, Over It Radio, which was announced earlier this month. Walker’s had a quiet 2024, but it looks like the new year is going to be bringing a flurry of activity from the reluctant star.

NLE Choppa Continues To Expand His Range On Carey Washington Collab “Don’t Walk Away”

There was some speculation prior to today that NLE Choppa was going to drop a new project. Sluffin SZN was going to be the follow-up to SLUT SZN, an eight-song collection featuring some singles and his “SLUT ME OUT” series. However, due to unforeseen and unforetold circumstances, it’s going to be out on Christmas Eve instead. “NEW PROJECT DECEMBER 24th,” he wrote on Instagram earlier this week alongside a collage of photos from a music video shoot. The Memphis native also made a bold proclamation, writing, “This Generation Michael… Watch This 🥶

In some of the photos, he’s trying to his best interpretation of Michael Jackson’s famous lean dance stunt, all while wearing a familiar-looking leather jacket. Whether he’s calling himself that because of his new single, “Don’t Walk Away,” or for Sluffin SZN, is unclear. But what is evident is that he’s trying to become as big as the King of Pop by expanding his range and reach as an artist. This Carey Washington collab finds NLE getting into his moodier R&B side while also flashing some influences from sexy drill and Jersey club. So far, the track is garnering some mixed reactions from fans due to the drastic stylistic switch-up. However, we can appreciate Choppa’s willingness to grow, and we are intrigued to hear what he’s going to present on his fifth tape of 2024.

“Don’t Walk Away” – NLE Choppa & Carey Washington

Quotable Lyrics:

Reminiscing to the night, I wonder where the day go
Left me with a open wound like I got hit with Draco
I’m so rich, I tried to put your feelings on a payroll
Shanaynay for rainy days, rain can’t even stay
Me and you, share the floor
Take my hand for onе more dance

Lil Tjay And NLE Choppa Want To Know ‘Why’ They’ve Got So Many Haters

You know, I don’t think I mind Lil Tjay making his comeback with the low-key Farewell EP. In fact, I would go as far as arguing that it was the perfect move for him; it gets his name, face, and voice back out in the ether without the often crushing stakes that come with a full-blown, full-length release, which can backfire horribly for a rapper who’s been out of the spotlight for a bit.

One of the better songs from the project was “Why” featuring NLE Choppa — another rapper looking to regain some purchase on the precarious landscape of rap stardom — so it makes sense they’d put out a video for the song. In keeping with the nature of the project, it’s also a low-key affair; just Tjay, Choppa, some friends, and some luxury cars in a parking lot performing their verses. It reminds viewers why they fell in love with both rappers in the first place. As much as it’s downplayed these days, they were considered some truly bars-forward performers when they first broke out, so it’s fun to see them get back to basics.

The video follows up focus track “Way Out The Hood II” with Polo G, another reminder that when he’s got the right rhyme partner, Tjay can spit with the best of them.

NLE Choppa Makes A Surprise Appearance On Rick Ross’ Ex Cristina Mackey’s IG Live

Rick Ross and Cristina Mackey’s romance faded about as fast as it started, but that doesn’t mean that their saga is completely over… At least, in fans’ eyes. Moreover, a lot of them had questions about the latter’s recent Instagram Live session and the surprise appearance of a fellow unexpected rapper. She had NLE Choppa go into her dressing room to drop something off for her, which raised a lot of eyebrows online. Fans immediately got to the relationship gossip rumor mill to generate their theories or talk about some other wild reactions to this clip. But with how little we know, any sort of conclusion feels pretty ungratifying.

Furthermore, we’ll see whether NLE Choppa or Cristina Mackey have anything to say about this, or if Rick Ross himself will come through with a reaction. But we doubt that The Biggest Boss really minds too much, especially since he seems very happy in his new relationship with Justice J Williams. Still, it’s not hard to see where this situation could lead to some conflicts if the parties involved don’t clarify some things.

NLE Choppa Pulls Up To Rick Ross’ Ex’s Dressing Room

Apart from Rick Ross and Cristina Mackey, though, NLE Choppa is defending himself against attacks from Woah Vicky accusing him of selling his soul to the devil. “Cause I won’t give yo herbal ranch aioli cigarettes built a** no d**k,” he clapped back to her criticism, which also touched on his support of the LGBTQIA+ community. “Nle choppa sould his soul to the devil,” Vicky wrote. “B that’s why he’s saying he’s gay now. He’s a puppet. But hey. Your soul belongs to God it’s not yours to sell it’s never too Jesus loves you.”

Meanwhile, Rick Ross and Cristina Mackey might have some bigger fish to fry than NLE Choppa when it comes to this supposed romantic drama. Ross’ other ex, Tia Kemp, recently spoke about Rozay’s enemy Drake and said that she would let him smash. So maybe they need to redirect themselves in their ire or efforts to be petty, if they really do feel this way. But for now, this seems like just a random coincidence that these folks might just play up for the ‘Gram.

NLE Choppa Speaks On His Decision To Perform At LGBTQIA+ Pride Events

NLE Choppa has faced a lot of backlash in the past for his support of the LGBTQIA+ community and his decision to perform at Pride events. This criticism comes from both sides of the aisle, with bigots trashing his solidarity and community members accusing him of just pandering and co-opting their identity. However, when you hear the Memphis MC talk about the situation, it’s clear that he’s trying to come from a place of support and unity above all else. He recently reflected on this matter during a new episode of the Caresha Please podcast with former City Girls member Yung Miami.

“Yeah, I’m appreciative of it,” NLE Choppa told Yung Miami about having a big queer following. “I’m appreciative of it because, at the end of the day, I feel like we are taught to not show love to people because they walk a different life. Who taught that s**t? Who taught that people are supposed to show hate in any instance? God don’t do that. God is love. What the hell is we showing hate for? He would never, He would never. What would God do?”

NLE Choppa Is Still Supportive Of The Queer Community

Of course, this new era for NLE Choppa has not only resulted in some of his biggest hits and moments of attention, but also a lot of opportunities for collaboration and media expansions. For example, he recently unveiled the trailer for a wild comedy film with him, Lil Wayne, Ray Vaughn, Sophie Rain, and many others. Whether or not you like what Choppa engages with, he continues to build his extracurricular achievements within and outside of his music career. Even if some are clearly bigger than others, it doesn’t change the consistent advocacy and norm-challenging behavior which does open the door for deeper discussion to people outside of the loop.

Meanwhile, NLE Choppa still engages in some of the typical Internet antics here and there, even if only tangentially. His baby mama recently tasked her Instagram Live viewers with watching her child, which sent social media for a loop earlier this year. But we’ll see what other reflections on identity and solidarity emerge from this perspective.

Finesse2Tymes is back with a fresh dose of unfiltered attitude in his new “Very Demure” video, teaming up with fellow Memphis star NLE Choppa. A remix of last month’s hit “Demure,” the track and video riff on social media’s latest trends, as the two rappers deliver unapologetically raw verses that prove they’re anything but demure.

Directed by VisionBank, the “Very Demure” video showcases Finesse and NLE Choppa posing alongside a striking yellow Lamborghini, dripping in designer fits and diamonds. NLE joins Finesse with a high-energy verse, throwing in his signature dance moves to keep the energy up.

This release builds excitement for Finesse2Tymes’ upcoming project Art of War, dropping November 22. The album caps off a strong year for the rapper, who’s gained momentum with popular singles like “Down Bad” and “Show Dat Work” featuring GloRilla and Rob49. Art of War is set to further elevate Finesse2Tymes as he heads into 2025.

Exhibiting his creative versatility, 21-year-old NLE Choppa has released a 45-minute short film, NLE Choppa Presents: The Wash, co-directed with Ben Marc. The short is a modern tribute to the 2001 cult classic The Wash, starring Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. Released through NLE Entertainment/Warner Records, it follows the recent success of Choppa’s hit single “Or What” featuring 41 and his new project, SLUT SZN.

NLE Choppa Presents: The Wash follows Choppa as he scrambles to save his struggling car wash business. In a comedic twist, he hires a bold team of female staff and revamps the service list with risqué names like “Sloppy Toppy” and “Rim Job,” adding humor to the plot. The story, driven by the cast’s natural chemistry, delivers laughs with a heartfelt message about perseverance and faith.

The film features appearances from Lil Wayne, Lou Ratchet, Sukihana, TraRags, and more, adding to the charisma and chaotic fun of Choppa’s cinematic debut.

NLE Choppa Shares A Downright Over The Top Trailer For Upcoming Comedy Film

NLE Choppa has caught some heat for some of his actions online. It relates to his music as well, especially as of late due to how overtly sexual he has portrayed himself to be. Overall, the young rapper is not everyone’s cup of tea, but he doesn’t seem to be pandering to anyone. He’s going to make career choices that he wants to make and he’s not going to conform to other’s expectations. NLE Choppa is taking risks like with his SLUT SZN merchandise, for example. Instead of just selling apparel, he’s turning into a fully fleshed out brand by promoting it an upcoming film.

The Memphis MC is dipping his toes into the world of filmmaking and acting by producing The Wash. It’s going to be out on YouTube exclusively October 30 and features a whole bunch of cameos. Fellow rappers such as collaborators Lil Wayne and Ray Vaughn make appearances in this comedy picture about Choppa opening and trying to run a successful car wash business. SLUT SZN Car Wash has employees such as OnlyFans content creator Sophie Rain, Suki and social media personality Durell “Rell” Smyle. Additionally, customers look to be J.P. and online comedian Tra Rags.

Overall, it looks to be a raunchy and over the top movie, but true to Choppa’s brand. The film is also being produced by an independent entertainment company by the name of VisionBank Films. As for the story and script, it’s conjured up by NLE and BenMarc, who’s shot music videos and a Nightmare on Cottonwood short film for the rapper in the past. Fans seem to be down for it for the most part and look forward to what he has to offer up in his debut movie.

What are your thoughts on NLE Choppa’s trailer for his upcoming debut film, The Wash? Do you think this will be a respectable first effort? Are you going to tune in?
