WATCH: Travis Scott Gives Unreleased Nike Collaboration to Fan During Chicago Show

Travis Scott Named as Suspect in New York City Assault Investigation

Travis Scott took the shoes off his feet and gave them to a fan at his Utopia show in Chicago. Making the moment more special, the shoes were the unreleased Shark-a-Don “Beechtree,” which, according to Sneaker Freaker, is a hybrid of the Nike Shark and Spiridon.

The recipient shared the image of the shoes on his Instagram, which you can see below.

When Will Travis Scott x Nike Sharkidon’s Collab Come Out?

Travis Scott’s Nike collaborations have been some of the most sought sneakers in the game for a while now, and the collection only keeps growing with the recent release of the Mac Attack (or Cactus Macs, if you’re John McEnroe) and the upcoming release of the Jordan 1 Low in “Black Olive.”

But Travis isn’t stopping there; during the recent Chicago stop on his Utopia: Circus Maximus tour, he gave away yet another pair of sneakers to one lucky fan. This one, though, is one that only been seen rarely: the Travis Scott x Nike Sharkidon, an as-yet-unreleased collab resembling his upcoming signature Jordan, with forefoot straps and what looks like Air Zoom cushioning/soles.

When Will The Travis Scott x Nike Sharkidon Come Out?

Unfortunately, there is no release date for the upcoming sneakers, although according to Complex, an inner tag in some preview shots indicates it could be coming out in fall of this year. Meanwhile, the official Jordan Travis Scott sneakers are billed for this spring, although these are not set in stone or confirmed by Nike just yet.

Meanwhile, Travis’ tour continues through the end of this month, with dates remaining in Toronto, Montreal, Boston, Boston, Miami, and Orlando.

It Looks Like Megan Thee Stallion Is Teasing An Upcoming Nike Collection For The Hot Girls

Over the past few years, athletic apparel companies have increasingly looked outside of the world of sports for endorser partnerships. Where once Nike blew its entire annual basketball sneaker budget to sign Michael Jordan, companies like Adidas, Champion, Nike, Puma, and Reebok have looked to entertainers like Pharrell, Saweetie, Travis Scott, Rihanna, and Cardi B to help move merch to fans who follow their faves’ moves like coaches watching game tape.

The latest rapper to secure a deal with Nike appears to be Megan Thee Stallion, who teased her upcoming collection with the Swoosh via her performance at New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. Wearing a purple jumpsuit and matching sneakers, the Nike influence was subtle — aside from a conspicuously placed logo on the front — but Meg boosted the hype by posting some behind-the-scenes photos and videos on her Instagram. The caption tells fans to “stay tuned for the drop,” while a detailed closeup of her soles shows a custom “Hottie” brandmark. Unlike some rapper partnerships, though, this one makes perfect sense; Meg has long centered her workout routines on social media, making her a good fit for a sportswear partnership.

Meg joins two of hip-hop’s biggest names in her collaboration with NIke: Drake and Travis Scott, who both have collections with the sneaker giant. While Drake’s Nocta brand focuses on high-end sportwear, Travis’ sneaker collabs hae been among the most coveted releases in recent years. According to Kicks Finder, Meg’s collection will include the bodysuit, a jacket, sports bras, shorts, and a tee shirt… although the sneakers are curiously absent from the report. This could mean they were a one-off for Thee Stallion herself (like a Player Edition basketball shoe) or that Nike has other plans for a Megan Thee Stallion sneaker.

Megan Thee Stallion is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

How Much Are Travis Scott’s Air Jordan 1 Low OG ‘Black Olive’ Sneakers?

Travis Scott dropped Utopia in late July, and he’s currently bringing his Utopia — Circus Maximus Tour across North America. He also possesses the key to every sneakerhead’s ultimate utopia every time he collaborates with Jordan Brand. In October, he unleashed the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low Golf Neutral Olive, and it would appear that he’s preparing another drop for around the same time next year.

The rumor mill was ignited by zSneakerHeadz sharing a “first look at the 2024 Travis Scott x Jordan 1 Low OG” in the “Black/Olive” colorway. The source also noted that Scott is eyeing a fall 2024 release.

That is all we know, and it’s not much. If this speculative information is correct, then the new pair will be in the same vein as the olive-colored Air Jordan 1 Low that arrived this April. According to the Nike listing, the Women’s Air Jordan 1 Low x Travis Scott “Medium Olive” retailed at $150, while the aforementioned “Neutral Olive” Air Jordan 1 Love Golf went for $170. It wouldn’t be totally off-base to use those prices to ballpark what the rumored Air Jordan 1 Low OG might cost you if/when it becomes available. (That is not to speak of the exorbitant prices on resale sites.)

When Does Drake’s Kevin Durant-Approved NOCTA ‘Basketball’ Collection Come Out?

kevin durant for nocta with drake
NOCTA

Drake’s love of basketball is well-documented, from his friendships with NBA stars to his noted gambling habit to his alleged purchase of $100,000 rings to celebrate a championship win in his rec league.

So, it’s only natural that his clothing line with Nike, NOCTA, would eventually get a line of basketball apparel and gear, along with a campaign featuring NBA all-star Kevin Durant. Durant previously appeared in Drake’s “Laugh Now, Cry Later” video featuring Lil Durk, which was shot at Nike’s Oregon headquarters campus. Here’s how you can get your hands on the new collection before it inevitably sells out and ends up on StockX for triple the price.

You can pull up (heh) on Nocta.com to check out the options currently in stock, which include basketball jerseys (of course) and shorts (absolutely), basketballs (naturally), shoes (they are Zoom Flight 95s, fam, just get those instead), base layer tops (why not), shooting sleeves (alright), socks (sure), and a “sideline trench” jacket (oh… kay). There are also tights, briefs, and caps if you want to go all out on the Drake-branded apparel thing, and a $400 Goretex rain jacket, which — where the hell are you planning to play? The usual assortment of sweats, tees, and the like are also on display, including pants with a Swarovski crystal Swoosh logo.

Dog, I swear, if you show up at a run with those on, you better play like Kevin Durant. Guys around my way aren’t having it.

Starting November 8 at 7 am PT / 10 am ET, you can also grab everything (except those crystal pants, I’m warning you, don’t do it) on the SNKRS app.

Nike and Dove Launch “Body Confident Sport” Tool to Boost Girls’ Body Confidence in Sports

In a groundbreaking collaboration, Nike and Dove have joined forces to introduce “Body Confident Sport,” a revolutionary set of coaching tools designed to empower 11- to 17-year-old girls and enhance their body confidence in sports. This initiative aims to create an inclusive environment where girls feel they belong in the world of sports.

“Body Confident Sport” results from a two-year partnership between Nike and Dove, in collaboration with world-renowned experts from the Centre for Appearance Research and the Tucker Center for Research on Girls & Women in Sport. The development process also incorporated feedback from nearly 2,000 adolescents across six countries: France, India, Japan, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

These scientifically proven coaching tools are designed to bolster self-esteem and body confidence, as demonstrated in clinical trials involving over 1,200 girls. The tool is accessible for free at bodyconfidentsport.com.

Transitioning into adolescence often results in significant bodily changes, which can make girls feel self-conscious and exposed. These feelings are frequently amplified in sports environments. According to recent research, 45 percent of teenage girls globally drop out of sports, and the primary reason is the impact that sports environments can have on their body confidence and self-esteem. Coaches play a pivotal role in shaping girls’ perceptions of their bodies, with 74 percent of girls attributing their increased confidence to their coaches.

“By shifting the conversation from what their bodies look like to what their bodies can do, we inspire more girls to stay in sport and benefit from it,” says Vanessa Garcia-Brito, VP, NIKE, Inc. Chief Social & Community Impact Officer. “With more girls in sports, we believe we’re creating the next generation of female leaders and changemakers who will move the world forward.”

The “Body Confident Sport” initiative, spearheaded by Dove and Nike, further underscores their enduring commitment to supporting women and girls. The partnership leverages the strengths of both brands to drive global change, paving the way for a more equitable future for women and girls on and off the playing field.

As part of its broader efforts, Nike has launched programs such as “You Got This,” a YouTube series for 10- to 13-year-old girls, and a partnership with Spotify aimed at inspiring 10- to 17-year-old girls in the United Kingdom to engage in dance. Nike’s partnership with Girls Got Game Philippines and the Tucker Center has also provided invaluable support for girls in sports worldwide.

The open-source “Body Confident Sport” tool by Nike and Dove is available free of charge at bodyconfidentsport.com, to reach 1 million young people worldwide, and possibly even more.

How To Buy Travis Scott’s Air Jordan 1 Low Golf ‘Neutral Olive’ Sneakers

This Friday, October 13, Travis Scott’s latest Nike collaboration, the Air Jordan 1 Low Golf in “Neutral Olive,” will be available to buy after months of hype. Whether you’re a fan of Travis Scott’s prior Nike sneakers or just want some stylish and coveted new shoes for the links, if you’re looking for more info on how to buy the shoes — which will set you back about $170 — you’ve come to the right place.

How To Buy Travis Scott’s Air Jordan 1 Low Golf “Neutral Olive” Sneakers

Unlike most general releases, Travis Scott’s Nikes are released in limited quantities to specialty retailers — and these golf shoes are no exception. While prior drops have gone directly to skate shops, these will land at golf stores such as Trendy Golf. One store is even reportedly going to extreme lengths to combat resellers, requiring prospective purchasers to hit a 200-yard drive before even being considered for its raffle to buy one of the 72 pairs it’ll have for sale.

But for most of us, the most direct route will be online retailers such as BSTN, Sneakers N Stuff, and Offspring, along with the dreaded SNKRS app, which has prompted plenty of woes with previous Travis Scott releases. Don’t worry if you don’t get a hit, though: Travis’ Mac Attacks are right around the corner for tennis enthusiasts and hardcore collectors alike.
