Kanye West Thanks Drake For Inspiring “Watch The Throne” In New “100 GIGS” Website Clip

We all know the story of how Kanye West and Drake allegedly took inspiration from Drake for their 2011 collab album Watch The Throne. Well, we say allegedly because there are some conflicting reports about whether or not the title was inspired by an ESPN report on LeBron James’ loss in his first NBA Finals appearance rather than a Drizzy lyric about “the throne” being for the taking. Regardless, it’s fun to reminisce, no? The Toronto superstar certainly thinks so, as he recently dropped a lot of footage and content on his recently unveiled “100 GIGS” website. One of these clips features Ye crediting him with inspiring his Hov team-up at OVO Fest 2013, a bizarre moment to look back on considering their on-and-off-again beef.

“As I stand in this city right now, I just want y’all to understand that it’s been a lot of rappers that came in the game that wasn’t able to do something like this for their city,” Kanye West told the crowd at OVO Fest 11 years ago. “We wouldn’t be able to make the music that we make. Me and Hov would’ve never made Watch The Throne if this n***a wasn’t putting pressure on us like that.” Drake continues with the pressure, as this new “100 GIGS” footage also included two new three-packs of songs. It’s also not the first time that he included something about Ye in these “100 GIGS” drops.

Kanye West Speaks On Drake’s “Pressure” At OVO Fest 2013

In fact, fans think that the 6ix God will drop even more content, music, or maybe even a new album very soon thanks to his latest hints on his @plottttwistttttt IG burner account. That remains speculative at this point, but based on all that he’s been posting and sharing these days, surely more is on the way. Still, OVO fans and haters alike wonder what this is all for. This new clip of Kanye West suggests that Drake is trying to make his legacy and impact as clear as day, as well as flooding his opposition with material to dominate the conversation.

Meanwhile, fans on both sides of 2024’s rap war continue to use every opportunity they can (as irrelevant and unrelated as they may be) to praise Drake over Kendrick Lamar and vice versa. As for K.Dot, he might also drop very soon, but some folks predict that he won’t have much else to say for his rival. The Boy, however, aired out more shots for his opps on his new three-pack. Will he continue to boast from atop a city on the hill or does he really want another round, whether it’s with Ye or whoever else that wants the smoke?

Joe Budden Is Jealous Of Yung Miami & Diddy’s Relationship, Tia Kemp Speculates

Last week, Yung Miami stirred up some serious drama with her response to Joe Budden’s 2003 single “Pump It Up” going gold. She responded to the exciting news with a series of laughing emojis, which rubbed the personality the wrong way. At the time, he refused to respond, claiming “It would be too easy.” In a new episode of his podcast, however, he went in.

He argued that Yung Miami had no room to laugh at him for his career. “If Complex were to do a list of where all the female rappers rate Caresha you would be last on the list. You would be drop dead last on that list,” he explained. “Every female out there is wiping you down right now.”

Tia Kemp Backs Yung Miami

Budden went on, reminding Yung Miami that just a couple of weeks ago, she admitted that her label told her they haven’t seen any growth from her as an artist. “Need I remind you that today I hear ‘Pump It Up’ more than I hear you so while you go on these social media rants and say that you were nine years old when ‘Pump It Up’ dropped and now you’re 30 you should be cautious of that,” he added.

For obvious reasons, the read earned big reactions from social media users, including Tia Kemp. She took to Instagram Live to share her take on the debacle recently, siding with the former City Girl. Kemp suggested that men in particular continue beefing with Yung Miami simply out of jealousy. “Yeah I think these men be mad that she had Diddy and they didn’t,” she explained. What do you think of Tia Kemp’s response to Joe Budden slamming Yung Miami for laughing at his gold “Pump It Up” plaque? Lil Yachty & KARRAHBOOO Won’t Stop Trading Shots On Social Media

The Concrete Boys collective is going through a pretty nasty crash-out right now thanks to group members Lil Yachty and KARRAHBOOO. What started as the latter’s sudden exit from the group under seemingly neutral circumstances devolved into both rappers accusing each other of toxic behavior. While this impacts the group as a whole, it really seems to be a battle between these two players alone at press time. Hopefully it resolves and things don’t spiral out even further. But it seems like they won’t reconcile anytime soon, as they’re still going back and forth at each other after the Let’s Start Here. artist wrote the following on his Instagram Story recently: “don’t throw rocks and hide your hand.”

“i’ll never forget this feeling,” KARRAHBOOO responded to Lil Yachty via an IG Story rant. “This chapter of my life, i’ll never be the same, i’ll never forget who wasn’t there for me. I done chomped people out/spent my last/slapped folks 4 n***as, i ride every time naturally but that’s just how i am. Nobody owe me s**t tbh im just taking a mental note.

KARRAHBOOO Once Again Claps Back At Lil Yachty

“i can’t even look at most people da same way, to know the truth and watch a grown man with 12 million followers overly lie on my name and publicly bully me for literally no reason at all while i silently been conquering all da s**t n***as been throwing at me this whole time behind close doors,” KARRAHBOOO’s rant continued. “ill never ignore the signs again and i will never stop no matter how much they hate me.

“i never threw rocks and u have my number u big grown b^itch leave me alone literally @lilyachty,” she concluded. “i never said nothing about s**t and i still ain’t said nothing bout what’s really going on. i don’t want no beef wit you industry people. just move on wit ur life stop tryna bring me down when i stay out the way. im done talking u got it yo character gone speak for itself.” Hopefully Lil Yachty and KARRAHBOOO settle this in private and move on with their careers without this headache.

DJ Akademiks Doubles Down On Rumor That NBA YoungBoy Made $100 Million Last Year

NBA YoungBoy is currently dealing with at least a couple of pretty tough legal situations, but folks think he’s actually doing very well. Moreover, you may have heard that authorities hit him with another gun charge amid his guilty plea for a similar case, adding onto his struggles. However, various media outlets and commentators alleged a pretty big flip-side to the Baton Rouge rapper’s woes: he apparently made a hundred million dollars while on house arrest in 2023. While these numbers don’t have a full and unquestionable confirmation, DJ Akademiks became the most recent figure to claim these rumors are true and even explained why.

“When you’ve made a hundred million dollars – and yes, it is reported that NBA YoungBoy made a hundred million dollars in 2023,” DJ Akademiks began. “Now, I don’t know if y’all know this. But he made a hundred. Million. Dollars. I can tell you how it kind of breaks down. He sold part of his catalog, the small part he owned from Atlantic. He signed to… What was it, like, between a 40 or 60 million dollar deal with Capitol, and he did some other deal. Basically, it was a hundred million dollars. And trust me, yeah, it was a hundred. When a n***a make a hundred million dollars, house arrest… What y’all think house arrest looks like for a hundred million dollar n***a? Huh? Let me ask y’all. I won’t say nothing.”

In other YoungBoy news, his baby mama Jania Meshell recently had fans on the edge of their seats while revealing her pregnancy test results. She already has two children: one with YB and one with her current fiancée Dejounte Murray. She didn’t want to add another kid to her family, and you can tell based on her reaction to the results. No spoilers!

Meanwhile, YB might face ten years in prison over the federal gun charge he pleaded guilty to. There’s no telling where his career will go from here, but odds are that it will continue to be prolific. After all, it’s not like YoungBoy let anything stop him from dropping material so far. With so much alleged revenue and paydays under his belt, though, he might be set to take things slow and steady if he so wishes.

Uncle Luke Demands A Check From Many Female Rappers & Says He Paved The Way For Them

Uncle Luke dishes out hot takes on the current rap landscape every once in a while, but don’t forget that he’s one of hip-hop’s pioneers. Moreover, his work with 2 Live Crew influenced multiple generations of the art form with its lewd and explicit content, even setting legal precedents for lyrical standards and freedom of speech within the genre. Furthermore, it’s no wonder that the Miami artist sees his influence in the current brand of salacious and sexually liberated femcees (only one part of the wide spectrum of female rap). In fact, he recently name-dropped a few of them while asking for a check from multiple of them for paving the way for their superstar success, while dissing the boys in the process. A check is probably going too far, but is the 63-year-old that wrong in his assessment?

“Male rap is on some bulls**t right now,” Uncle Luke kicked his remarks off. “I’m sorry. The females are winning. They’re doing everything that I did. I’m still waiting for these girls to send me a f***ing check. I need a check from Ice Spice who turn her a** around. Dropping it like it’s hot and doo-doo browning. I need a check from her, I need a check from Sexyy Red. Nah, that Red’s my friend. My man Stan. Shouts out to Stan, Stan the man. I don’t need a check from him. That’s my dog, that’s his record company.

Uncle Luke Wants His Payday For Pioneering Part Of The Femcee Landscape

“All the f***ing girls,” Uncle Luke continued. “Megan Thee Stallion, anybody that’s running around shaking their a**es, talking about p***y and d**k on the record, y’all need to send me a check. Send me a check. Just stop by with the check and say, ‘Thank you, Uncle Luke, for fighting, going to the Supreme Court, allowing us to be able to say what we saying on the records, and we’re whooping these men’s a**es right now ’cause we doing our thing.’ That’s going to go viral.” At least he admitted this would be a nice little engagement farm.

Elsewhere, Uncle Luke recently spoke on his failed attempts to squash Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur’s fatal feud. “I remember when Tupac and Biggie had the beef going on,” he shared on Instagram Live. “Now, mind you, I tried to get in the middle of it and squash it. I kind of cooled it off, but it was a little too late. Outside people got involved. Man, I remember going to St. Louis doing a show with Biggie. I went on before him and by the time he got to the stage, them people were screaming ‘Tupac!’ They was singing Tupac songs. That is the most discouraging thing when you in a battle, when you in the heat of a battle on tour, that people would go to the stadium and don’t even wanna hear your songs.”

Nipsey Hussle Wax Figure Impresses Atlanta Fans At Invest Fest

In March 2019, Nipsey Hussle’s life was tragically cut short, but his legacy lives on. The West Coast icon continues to get the recognition he deserves for his contributions to hip-hop and more, most recently at Invest Fest in Atlanta. In a clip making its rounds online, a Nipsey Hussle wax figure is unveiled at the event, and the crowd goes wild.

Earn Your Leisure CEO Rashad Bilal teamed up with Microsoft and The Marathon, the late rapper’s clothing company, for the $100K Nipsey Hussle Business Grant. The grant went to one lucky entrepreneur to grow their business. Bilal chatted with REVOLT about the partnership last month. He revealed that it all stemmed from his interview with Nipsey’s brother, Blacc Sam. “When we were putting together the Invest Fest lineup, I definitely wanted The Marathon to be a part of it in some capacity,” he explained. “The first idea was to have The Marathon as a pop-up shop. But Sam wanted to do something more impactful than just have merch there.”

Mr. Officials Honors Nipsey Hussle With Wax Figure

“So, I just thought we should have a pitch competition,” Bilal continued. “I proposed it to The Marathon team, and they liked it. After that, we spoke with Microsoft, and they also agreed to provide some funding for it. So that was helpful.” The Nipsey Hussle wax figure was created by Mr. Officials, who’s done wax figures of Takeoff, Lil Wayne, and more.

He was also one of the four finalists to join the pitch competition for the Nipsey Hussle Business Grant this weekend. According to him, it took nine months to complete. While the grant went to Divine Luminance Juices in the end, he said he still “[feels] like a winner” in a recent Instagram Story. What do you think of a Nipsey Hussle wax figure being unveiled at Invest Fest earlier this weekend? How does it look?
