Waka Flocka Flame Hints At Kanye West Album Dropping In December

Waka Flocka Flame has been out of the rap game for a minute. The artist’s last mixtape was in 2020, and his last studio album was in 2012. He’s not exactly plugged in to what’s going on at the moment. Still, he drummed up excitement on Monday night when he tweeted about Kanye West. The rapper hyped up the forthcoming West album, and even hinted at a possible release date. Fans were intrigued, especially with Waka being so specific about time period.

Waka Flocka Flame told fans that “it’s time for another Ye album.” This would not have turned many heads by itself, but it was the follow up comment that had followers intrigued. “I wouldn’t be surprised,” he wrote. “If my Gemini brother drop before the yr end.” Waka Flocka Flame tweeted this on December 2, which does not leave a lot of time for Kanye West to make good on the rapper’s prediction. Still, it’s odd how specific Waka was with regards to a West album we know is in the works. West has confirmed that his next release will be titled Bully, and that he’s been working on it throughout 2024.

There’s also VULTURES 3, the final installment in his collab trilogy with Ty Dolla Sign. Given the tepid response to the first two, however, it remains to be seen if VULTURES 3 will see the light of day. Bully has been touted by those in West’s inner circle as a return to form. Waka Flocka Flame and West have never actually collaborated on a song together. That said, Waka has released remixes over the instrumentals to “Blood on the Leaves” (2013) and “Real Friends” (2016). The rapper also spoken out in defense of West after the latter voiced support for President Donald Trump.

Waka Flocka Flame’s own support of Trump has come to define his public persona in recent years. The rapper drew widespread criticism for supporting Trump, then seemingly not voting come election day. He also blamed his recent string of cancelled shows on his outspoken political beliefs. “Free speech is only given to those who don’t go against the system,” he tweeted in November. “Ppl need to wake up… y’all being used for a bigger agenda.” Time will tell if the rapper’s Kanye West prediction comes true.

Roddy Ricch Claims YouTuber Tried To Extort Him Over Lost Grammy

Roddy Ricch has had a strange start to the month. The rapper planned to rollout his new release, The Navy Album, but he’s instead been drawn into a controversy involving a misplaced Grammy. Ricch won the prestigious award for Best Rap Performance in 2020. He lost track of it, however, after a storage unit owned by an assistant was mismanaged. A California YouTuber recently stumbled upon the unit and the Grammy. Unfortunately, Roddy Ricch claimed his transaction with the YouTuber went very poorly.

Roddy Ricch hopped on Instagram Live on December 2 to update his fans on the Grammy situation. There was a general sense of confusion when the YouTuber, Prieto Hunters, posted about the storage unit and the Grammy on his account. Ricch claimed that he got in touch with Hunters, but the latter tried to use the situation to his advantage. Hunters claimed to have purchased the storage unit for only $280, and Ricch offered to pay $10K for the Grammy’s return. The YouTuber, however, wanted much more than that. He boosted the asking price to a whopping $50K.

“First he asked me for an AP, then he asked me for $50,000,” Roddy Ricch told his fans. “So it was never about ‘Oh we’re going to do it on just the strength of trying to get it back to you.” All that type of s**t,” the rapper told his fans. “It was more so about a n**ga trying to get some clout off it or a n**ga trying to basically extort me for $50,000.” The two men agreed on a price and met up at a California police station. Once again, Ricch was annoyed by Prieto Hunters’ antics. The rapper claimed that the YouTuber showed up to the police station with “two cops and three n**gas with cameras.”

Roddy Ricch won the Grammy for his joint single “Racks In the Middle” alongside the late Nipsey Hussle. He told Variety that he was incredibly humbled by the win, but admitted it was bittersweet given Hussle’s passing. “It just had a street impact,” he told the outlet. “It was organically moving through the streets, so that’s how I feel it initially gained its popularity. Then it just spread like wildfire. It’s a bittersweet thing as far as a Grammy, but it’s a good thing.” Despite the headache and cost, we’re glad that Roddy Ricch has his Grammy statue back.

CNN Likens Drake To A “Karen” While Discussing UMG Legal Battle

Drake stock is at an all time low in terms of public opinion. The hip hop world has all but rejected him after he announced plans to sue UMG and Spotify. The rapper alleges that the two companies worked in tandem to boost the streams of Kendrick Lamar’s diss record, “Not Like Us.” Drake supporters have tried to rationalize this legal action, but the bulk of hip hop fans have effectively dubbed him a hypocrite and a whiner. It got worse on Monday, December 2. CNN aired coverage of the rapper’s legal battle, and their anchors proceeded to dig into him as well.

CNN played footage from the “Not Like Us” music video. As the video package transitioned to the lead anchor, the network’s take on the situation became clear. The anchor, like so many people online, feels that Drake is being overly sensitive about losing the Lamar battle. “This may be the hip hop equivalent of asking to speak with a manager.” The notion of speaking with a manager is a joke that’s tied to the Karen meme that has taken off in the last decade. The CNN anchor didn’t say the name “Karen,” but in posing Drake as someone who asks for a manager, he’s indirectly making the parallel.

This is not the first time a TV analyst has mocked Drake’s legal situation. Last week, Kendrick Lamar’s smash single “TV Off” played during the commercial break for TNT’s Inside the NBA. When the show returned, guest panelist Jalen Rose commented on the song choice. He alluded to the fact that Drake plans to sue over a Kendrick Lamar song, and quipped that TNT should try to avoid further legal action. “I don’t know if y’all should be playing that Kendrick,” Rose noted. “Y’all gonna get a lawsuit up here.” The same day the CNN clip aired, Drake was made Donkey of the Day by Charlamagne Tha God on the radio show The Breakfast Club.

“Stop acting like you haven’t been the beneficiary of record label tricknology,” Charlamagne asserted. “You being a whole h*e simply because you lost. Simply because Kendrick Lamar kicked yo a* lyrically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. And anybody acting like this is anything more than Drake’s feelings being hurt, you a he, too. An OV-He to be exact.” Drake’s case against UMG has been yet to formally launched, but it’s clear he has been deemed the guilty party in the court of public opinion. Tough.

Nicki Minaj Throws Shots At Spotify Amidst Drake’s UMG Legal Drama

Nicki Minaj was not messing around on Monday. The rapper got on Twitter shortly after it was announced that Spotify would be releasing its Wrapped data later than usual. Fans were perplexed by the delay, and many theorized it may have to do with accusations that Drake recently leveled at the streaming platform. The 6 God alleged that Spotify and UMG were in cahoots to boost Kendrick Lamar’s streaming numbers using bots. Evidently, Nicki Minaj is supporting Drake’s cause. She questioned why Spotify was taking so long with its data. She also alluded to the platform lying.

“Show me the data,” she wrote on Monday afternoon. The rapper followed this ominous request up with a more damning comment. “Spotify ain’t gotta lie,” she explained. These critiques were intriguing, given that Nicki Minaj received two notable honors via Spotify the same exact day. She was the most streamed female rapper in November with 355 million streams. Minaj was also the most streamed female rapper of 2024 with 4.1 billion streams and counting. QC Worldwide claims the rapper is on pace to close out 2024 year with 4.5 billion streams.

This is not the first time Nicki Minaj has gone after Spotify. The rapper has a history of clashing with streaming platforms, whether it be lack of promotion or perceived preferential treatment of her peers. The latter proved to be the case in 2018, when Minaj blasted Spotify for de-prioritizing her music so it could promote, of all people, Drake. “Spotify put Drake’s face on every playlist but told me they’d have to teach me a lesson for playing my music 10 mins early on #QueenRadio,” she tweeted. “Even tho they’ve been giving away my music for free for years & I am one of the top Spotify artists of all time.”

Nicki Minaj’s relationship with Drake has been hit-and-miss over the years. The two have collaborated multiple times, but there have also been rumors of tension at different points in their career. Drake said as much on 2013’s “Tuscan Leather.” It appears as though both rappers are on the same page in 2024, however. Tommie Lee Claims She Needs Surgery After Concerning Hospital Stay

Tommie Lee had a rough trip. The reality TV star was recently in Jamaica, but her sojourn resulted in a sudden hospital stay. She posted Instagram videos from her hospital bed on December 1, causing many of her fans to voice their concern. Lee provided additional context on Monday, December 2. The Love & Hip Hop star elaborated on the reason for her hospital, and revealed that she is going to have to undergo surgery. She also also found time to talk smack to some of her haters.

Tommie Lee told fans that she had a surgery scheduled for December 3. “I have surgery tomorrow,” she said while seemingly standing. “I gotta hop around. I’m gonna make the most of it.” The rapper went on to provide information about the injury. She posted a photo of a deep wound in her ankle, and explained that she is not able to put weight on said ankle at the moment. Tommie Lee’s attention quickly turned to those who were mocking her injury in the comments, though. The rapper shot down the notion that her injury was a result of “karma.” She also asserted that she is not going to wallow or feel bad for herself as a result of her misfortune.

Tommie Lee blamed the show’s producers for making her out to be a meaner person than she really is. “It goes back to Love & Hip Hop,” she noted. “This whole narrative… party who I am and partly not.”

Tommie Lee went on to note that she does not regret any of the things she said or did on the show. She maintained that she always did, and always will, act in her own best interest. Boi-1da has been a crucial part of Drake’s sound since day one. He produced “Best I Ever Had” back in 2009, and dominated the production on the rapper’s 2015 classic mixtape If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late. He has never been particularly outspoken on social media, but the producer made his allegiance to Drake known on Monday. Boi-1da liked an Instagram reel comparing Drake’s upcoming sports plans to that of Kendrick Lamar’s. The reel in question theorized that Drake’s global success is threatening to both Dot and Roc Nation head, JAY-Z.

This theory has been floating around for months. DJ Akademiks and other Drake supporters have put forth the idea that JAY-Z felt slighted by Drake’s plan to perform at the World Cup in 2026. The World Cup is among the most viewed events in the world. It tops the list when it comes to sporting events. The World Cup pulls in 5 billion views compared to the Super Bowl. The American sporting event only pulls in an estimated 127 million. Boi-1da liked the Instagram reel claiming that JAY-Z chose Drake’s enemy, K. Dot, as a means of combating this clear disadvantage in terms of popularity.

Drake has been talking up his World Cup involvement since September. The rapper sat down with FIFA President Gianni Infantino to discuss the impact the 2026 event will have. He also praised Toronto, his and Boi-1da’s hometown. “Canada as a whole, we have an incredible melting pot,” Drizzy stated. “But in Toronto, there are just so many different cultural experiences. So when the world comes, it’s going to be beautiful.”

Boi-1da has worked with JAY-Z and Kendrick Lamar in the past. He produced a song on Hov’s 2013 album, “FuckWithMeYouKnowIGotIt,” and Lamar’s classic 2015 single, “The Blacker the Berry.” He’s found tremendous success with both artists, but his allegiance remains with the 6 God. Boi-1da had three production credits on Drake’s last album, For All the Dogs (2023). Draya Michele’s Ex Boyfriend Tries To Evict Her From Their L.A. Home

Draya Michele and her ex boyfriend, Tyron Taylor, did not end on good terms. The model ended her relationship with the former NFL star recently. There was an attempt to work out a civil living situation, in which Michele would rent out the L.A. property that Taylor bought for the both of them. Taylor, however, is not thrilled with this arrangement. The Neighborhood Talk reports that the former NFL star has tried to call the police a dozen times on Draya Michele. His intention? To get her evicted from the property.

The plan, per In Touch Weekly, was for Draya Michele to rent and eventually purchase the L.A. property from Tyron Taylor. Things quickly took a turn for the worse, however, when Michele started a relationship with Jalen Green. Shortly after Michele and Green’s relationship went public, Taylor apparently changed his mind. He allegedly filed an eviction lawsuit against Michele, without telling her. Draya Michele entered a default judgement as a result, claiming that she was never properly served. Taylor’s rebuttal is that he sent the eviction notice via mail, and is therefore not responsible for her lack of awareness.

Draya Michele’s stay has not been a comfortable one, as a result. The model claimed that she got a call from a nanny while away on business in November. She stated, via court documents, that sheriffs were called to the property and telling the nanny, as well as her children, that they had to leave. “The sheriffs were at the subject property to lock the occupants out of the subject property,” Michele added. Michele contacted her lawyers, who sprung into action and prevented the lockout. The model claims that it was only after this encounter that she learned of Taylor’s eviction notice.

Draya Michele claimed she originally tried to purchase the property for $2.8 million. Taylor countered, allegedly, with $3.2 million, which the model accepted. Michele stated that she has paid $19,000 per month in rent, in addition to spending $270,000 on home renovations. She accused her ex of failing to uphold his end of the deal. Taylor, on the other hand, has denied any wrongdoing. His lawyers reported that Michele has only been able to produce an “unsigned lease, an unsigned purchase agreement, and emails evidencing at most negotiations.” There’s clearly more to come in this property saga.

Kyrie Irving Faces $390k Lawsuit Over Chaotic Family Retreat

Kyrie Irving is facing a $390K lawsuit from a wellness company that accuses him of leaving a hefty bill unpaid. The company made the allegation in a lawsuit filed on Monday in New York, according to TMZ Sports. The company, Elite Mind Solutions, claims Irving asked them to cater to 50 to 60 attendees for a family retreat from June 28 to July 2 but upped the headcount to 115 just days before. Then, on the day of, he allegedly brought 150 people.

Elite Mind Solutions further claims an attendee unexpectedly died during the event, which prompted the use of crisis intervention services. The filing notes that “continuation was only possible due to Plaintiff’s extraordinary efforts.” They say that altogether, the event racked up a bill of $390,710, which the Dallas Mavericks star has allegedly completely ducked paying. “[Irving] knowingly accepted these services and derived significant benefits from them,” the complaint reads. “Yet they refuse to compensate Plaintiff.”

Part of the reason Elite Mind Solutions trusted Irving’s promise to “handle all costs” was because they had a good relationship with him since 2020. “Defendants made false representations… with the intent to induce Plaintiff to continue performing services,” the lawsuit claims. “Mr. Irving and his company benefited enormously from Plaintiff’s services, including the continuation of the retreat in the wake of a tragic incident.” Altogether, the lawsuit accuses him of unjust enrichment and fraud.

Irving has yet to respond publicly to the lawsuit. He’s currently focused on his season with the Dallas Mavericks as the team stands at 13-8 and in 5th place in the Western Conference. He and the team will take on the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night.

DJ Akademiks Goes On Bizarre And Borderline Hateful Rant About Kendrick Lamar’s “Auntie Diaries”

It’s no secret at this point that DJ Akademiks is not the biggest Kendrick Lamar supporter. Time and time again, the hip-hop media sleuth has consistently come to rain on his parade whenever the Compton MC does something of merit. While not particularly jiving with an artist’s music is not a crime, this recent rant from Ak is really pushing the envelope in dangerous fashion. Today’s topic that’s up for contention is Kendrick’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers? Yes, despite the fact that GNX is now his most recent body of work, he’s going back to 2022 to find something he disagrees with.

In the clip below, Ak unleashes and goes on a pretty distasteful and disrespectful rant regarding “Auntie Diaries.” If you remember, the song delves into a very personal account about an uncle of his who is trans and the overall views on the LQBTQ+ community. Given the meaning behind the song and how sensitive the topic is, Akademiks comes across as bitter instead of funny, which his co-hosts/guests seem to think.

Overall, he feels that Kendrick needs to hang his hat on these types of issues and talk about them in his music to be relevant. “Kendrick dropped a whole album talking about LGBTQ issues. In the history of hip-hop, when have we cared about that? We don’t talk about it, and now he’s making it a focus. It’s like he’s grasping for topics to sell records.”

He also adds, “With all due respect to the LGBTQ community, when in the history of f***ing hip hop have we ever given a f*** about that type of s*** bro? Kendrick couldn’t rap about saving black people no more, he start rapping about his aunties a man and that he got fingered.” Akademiks even included Donald Trump into his rant, mentioning his nickname “Big 45.” “Big 45 is back, and we don’t want to hear about your auntie being a man or any of these other issues for four years. Save it for 2028.” Unexpectedly, Ak is currently hearing it from a lot of people online, and it’s just a bizarre moment overall.
