JT Congratulates Lil Uzi Vert For “Eternal Atake 2” Despite Negative Fan Reactions

JT and Lil Uzi Vert always support each other through thick and thin, so it’s nice when the latter circumstance comes up more often than the former. Moreover, she recently took to Instagram to congratulate them on their brand new album Eternal Atake 2, penning a message on how proud she is of her boo. “So proud of you always!” the former City Girl wrote. “My top 3 is light year, pears to mars & Mr.chow honorable mention chill bae! Really the whole thing but that’s being bias because you do no wrong in my eyes! Forever your #1 fan! Paint the world white my baby, congratulations on EA2.”

However, a lot of Lil Uzi Vert fans don’t share this same sentiment, at least when it comes to the top three songs debate and the quality of Eternal Atake 2 as a whole. Many of them expressed disappointment in this LP, throwing “washed” allegations left and right while speaking on how much more they prefer their older catalog. Of course, fan reception isn’t everything, especially when the Philly rapper has someone like JT there to share some love. Maybe this initially negative reception ages like milk or this project doesn’t stand out in the wider Uzi catalog in retrospect.

In addition, this follows some more backlash concerning Lil Uzi Vert, but for completely different reasons concerning JT. Some fans felt that she disrespected them when she didn’t post anything for National Boyfriend Day on October 3, as irrelevant as this aspect was for others online. Regardless of this omission, the couple’s pride for each other and in each other is usually no secret online. As such, maybe a specific post wasn’t necessary to show this, although it certainly couldn’t have hurt.

Meanwhile, as fans bicker and throw their hot takes around JT and Lil Uzi Vert’s music and relationship, they are just having a good time wherever they go. They’ve never been the type to get caught up in backlash, even though they’ve previously opened up about insecurities and celebrity pressures. Even if you weren’t a fan of Eternal Atake 2, you can be just as happy for the couple’s steady sailing.

Lil Kim Joins Latto Onstage In NYC: Watch

Latto is currently making her way around the U.S. on a tour in support of her new album, Sugar Honey Iced Tea. The Atlanta hitmaker has been joined by Mariah The Scientist and KARRAHBOOO throughout the trek so far, and recently, she surprised fans with some additional exciting special guests. During her stop at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center yesterday (October 31), she brought out two native New Yorkers, Lil Kim and A Boogie Wit da Hoodie.

From the look of things, the crowd was feeling the performance, and there’s fortunately more to come. Latto’s “Sugar Honey Iced Tea” tour is set to run into December with upcoming shows in Boston, Toronto, Detroit, Chicago, and more.

While Latto’s tour seems to be a tremendous success so far, it didn’t exactly start with a bang. The femcee took to social media shortly after her first performance in Tampa and made it clear she wasn’t happy. She also claimed she’d be confronting various members of her crew about how the show went. “Show was a hot mess,” Latto began at the time. “Could’ve been worse. But, hey baby, what can you do. I did my job.”

“I did my job,” she also added. “[The] lighting [crew is] getting cussed out. [The] video [crew is] getting cussed out. [The] wardrobe [team is] getting cussed out.” Luckily for Latto, it doesn’t appear as though fans had any complaints, and she has plenty of shows left to execute exactly the way she’d like. Bankroll Freddie Sentenced For Drug Trafficking & Gun Charges

Bankroll Freddie finally received his prison sentence following his conviction on multiple charges including drug trafficking and firearm possession back in May. According to FBI officials in Little Rock, Arkansas, he received a sentence of 12 and a half years, although it’s unclear which of the Department of Justice-outlined charges this sentence is for. The rapper’s conviction was for charges of on count of possessing and distributing a controlled substance, one count of marijuana possession and distribution, one count of gun possession to further drug trafficking, and one count of furthering drug trafficking crimes through a communications facility.

However, the court also acquitted Bankroll Freddie on various charges, including one count of machine gun possession and other charges in the original indictment against him. This legal action stemmed from a massive drug and gun bust in 2022 that also involved his father and many other arrested individuals. At press time, there isn’t much more information about this sentence, Freddie’s situation, or the other charges that the court acquitted him for. While things could certainly be worse for him, this 12-and-a-half-year sentence is nothing to dismiss.

For those unaware, this whole Bankroll Freddie situation also seriously implicated and caught up a couple of members of his immediate family. Per Arkansas Online, the court denied Freddie’s father, Freddie Gladney, his bond earlier in February. Law enforcement reportedly caught Gladney discussing drugs and weapons with three of his sons, plus arranging sales of contraband with his daughter, via wiretapped conversations. As such, all these individuals emerged as codefendants in this case. Still, not much else has emerged concerning these other codefendants outside of the family apart from the public updates on the Arkansas MC, so there is still some digging to do.

Meanwhile, fans wonder whether or not Bankroll Freddie got his jewelry back, which he requested shortly after his arrest. Considering this sentence and the heaviness of much of the original indictment against him and many others, it doesn’t seem like a likely outcome. Nevertheless, perhaps the near future will provide us with some more updates and developments in this case that could illuminate the situation further.

Young Dolph’s Convicted Killer Gets New Sentence That Worsens His Situation

Young Dolph’s convicted killer, Justin Johnson, just got an even worse sentence over the murder of the Memphis rapper. For those unaware, Johnson already received a life sentence for first-degree murder charges back in late September after the court found him guilty. Now, on Friday afternoon (November 1), Judge Jennifer Mitchell additionally sentenced him to 35 years in prison for conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, as well as 15 years for possessing a handgun as a convicted felon. Those sentences will be served at the same time, but the 35 years will come after his life sentence.

If you’re confused, the basic explanation is that if something were to happen to the original life sentence, such as parole or an overturn, Justin Johnson would still have to face 35 years in prison for these charges related to Young Dolph’s murder. Johnson, along with another gunman, shot and killed the Paper Route Empire MC at a Memphis bakery back in 2021. This was due to an alleged hit that Yo Gotti’s brother Big Jook placed on Dolph, although those remain theories without full confirmation at press time.

Furthermore, this additional sentence comes after Justin Johnson motioned for a new trial concerning the Young Dolph murder last week. “The verdict regarding the offenses of conviction was contrary to the weight and sufficiency of the evidence, and the evidence was insufficient to lead any rational trier of fact to conclude that Mr. Johnson was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt,” his attorney Luke Evans claimed. “The trial court erred by admitting gruesome photographs of the victim’s body at the crime scene… admitting gruesome autopsy photographs… [and] denying Johnson’s repeated motions to allow him to sit at the counsel table.” Evans continued: “The cumulative effect of multiple errors at trial warrants granting Mr. Johnson a new trial.”

Of course, this controversy follows others concerning the murder of Young Dolph, such as a conflict between Dolph’s colleague Kenny Muney and Ralo. Muney felt like the Atlanta rapper and folks like DJ Akademiks engaged in “click bait” over this trial. Fortunately, both hip-hop artists buried the hatchet and came to an understanding.

Cardi B Shows Off Her Curves In Jessica Rabbit Halloween Costume

Cardi B is a style icon these days, so it’s no surprise that she would pop off for her Halloween costume this year. Last night (Thursday, October 31), she became Jessica Rabbit, the iconic animated muse in the 1988 animated/live-action romp, Who Framed Roger Rabbit. The Bronx femcee wore a red gown that displayed her curves flatteringly, long purple gloves, color-coordinated makeup, and curly red hair. She pulled up in the garb to her sister Hennessy Carolina’s spooky season bash yesterday, and if you’re curious, Hennessy dressed up as the liquor she’s named after. It all seemed like a pretty great time out in the city.

Furthermore, we hope that Cardi B enjoyed herself to the fullest, as this came after her recent hospitalization for a “medical emergency” that prompted her to pull out of the ONE Music Fest on October 26 just days before the festival. “I am so sad to share this news, but I’ve been in the hospital recovering from a medical emergency the last couple of days and I won’t be able to perform at ONE MusicFest,” she expressed online. “It breaks my heart that I won’t get to see my fans this weekend and I really wish I could be there. Bardi Gang, thank you for understanding and I’ll be back better and stronger soon. Don’t worry. Love y’all.”

However, Cardi B fans will be able to see her at a very special event very soon, just not in her costume. Hopefully Cardi B already feels much better after that hospitalization, although we’d guess that her stunning Halloween look is a great indicator of that. Elsewhere, she’s dealing with a lot right now, including a nasty split from Offset. Content creator call-outs, more demands for the sophomore album, and a third child all took over Bardi’s life this year, and have followed her to this day. Some of it’s negative, some of it’s wonderful, but she always looks good no matter the context.

Last month, Kendrick Lamar sat down with SZA for Harper’s Bazaar and sparked a major debate. Several social media users and peers argued that it was a “softball” interview, and would have liked to see K-Dot sit down with a hip-hop outlet instead. Amid the backlash, TDE Punch took to X to come to Kendrick’s defense, arguing that hip-hop media is to blame.

“I respect Hip Hop Journalism and feel it’s needed in its truest form. It help keep the culture alive,” he wrote in part. “But it’s only a few real ones left. Most of you guys are trash. Just my opinion. That’s why artist don’t want to talk to you.”

Now, during a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Fat Joe has shared his take on the situation. According to him, Punch might be onto something. He even argued that magazines like Vibe and The Source could have allegedly played a role in the deaths of Biggie and 2Pac. “I also believe that the old guard of hip-hop journalists created a lot of conflict and might even have blood on their hands,” he explained.

“When you talk about East Coast-West Coast, Biggie-Tupac, that thing was amplified, and they both ended up dead,” he continued. “And, when I look at the so-called journalists that were here from day one, since Vibe and The Source [magazines] and all that, still to this day when they interview people and they do podcasts themselves, it’s always a negative route.” Fat Joe added that artists have more leverage now thanks to social media, podcasts, and shows like his own. Madlib Sues Former Manager Egon For Alleged Mismanagement And Financial Impropriety

Legendary producer Madlib filed a lawsuit against former manager Egon on October 31, the four-year anniversary of MF DOOM’s death. He chose the date to honor DOOM, whose family is currently in a legal battle of their own with Egon. In a complaint, Madlib accused Egon of several inappropriate business practices. The practices include allegedly mismanaging his finances, abusing his power by “taking a fee off the top” from money generated by his recorded music and locking him out of several “key music business platforms” like Apple Music, YouTube, BandCamp, Instagram and Facebook.

Madlib signed to Stones Throw Records and released his first single with the label, “Microphone Mathematics,” in 1999. Egon was working there as an executive. He became the general manager of Stones Throw in 2000, remaining in that role for the next decade. After Madlib left and Egon was fired, Madlib brought him on as his manager. They started Madlib Invazion in 2010, which is where the majority of his work has been released since. Additionally, they started Madicine Show and Rappcats.

Because of Egon’s alleged mishandling of Madlib’s finances, the legendary Oxnard-based producer is seeking compensatory damages, including attorney fees. As the complaint explained, Madlib “desires a declaration from the Court determining that none of the Defendants owns or has any continuing right or interest in the above and that he has lawfully terminated any rights he may have granted therein to any of the Defendants. Such declaration is necessary and appropriate at this time to confirm and protect Madlib’s interest in his creative work and the goodwill associated with his professional career, as well as his name and likeness, and so that Madlib may ascertain the rights and duties of the parties relating thereto.”

In October 2023, MF DOOM’s widow, Jasmine Dumile Thompson, filed a lawsuit of her own against Egon. Thompson’s suit alleged that the former family friend stole 31 of the iconic rapper’s notebooks. Those bookers were used to write some of his most well-known songs, including music from Operation Doomsday, Madvillainy, MM…FOOD. The books also included unreleased song ideas and “other creative ideations.” Madlib’s suit is the latest piece of what has been a lengthy falling out between Egon and the families of his two closest collaborators in hip-hop.

Lil Wayne Dragged Into Family Conflict Over His Daughter Reginae & Her Mother’s Brother

Things just got “Sticky” in the Lil Wayne and Toya Johnson family thanks to a recent Instagram Live rant from the former’s brother Walter. For those unaware, Weezy and Toya share a child named Reginae, whom they welcomed into the world as teenagers back during the New Orleans rapper’s rise to superstardom. However, it seems like there’s some trouble brewing among the family these days, as Walter took to social media to air out a lot of grievances. During his rant, he name-dropped Tunechi and expressed similar animosity to others in his family for what he sees as a lack of accountability and support.

“You play with me, I’m letting you know, I’ma come for all of y’all,” Walter said of Lil Wayne and the Johnson family. “Wayne, Toya, I don’t give a f**k who it is. I’ma come for all of y’all. Reginae, I’ma come for everybody. Because don’t play with me, bro. I’m real. When you ain’t have nobody? When my mama wanted to – when the family wanted to have a f***ing abortion on Reginae? Then, Walter seemed to directly call Lil Wayne out for lying about who he hangs with, criticize his lack of support for the family around him, and get into some of the alleged dynamics between their colleagues in common. Finally, Toya Johnson’s brother lamented how people won’t believe his story, and told the naysayers mad at him that he doesn’t care about their backlash.

We’ll see if anything else comes of this alleged drama and whether or not the rest of the family will speak out. In other Lil Wayne news, his fellow Cash Money alums Juvenile and Mannie Fresh recently stated that they would absolutely join Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show if he invited them. Sexyy Red’s latest revelation has taken some by surprise, considering the fact that she previously supported Donald Trump. During her appearance on Theo Von’s This Past Weekend podcast in 2023, she explained why she was a fan of the former president. “I like Trump,” she began. “Yeah, they support him in the hood. At first I don’t think people was f*cking with him. They thought he was racist, saying little sh*t against women. But once he started getting Black people out of jail and giving people that free money. Aww baby, we love Trump. We need him back in office. We need him back because, baby, them checks. Tyler The Creator is riding the CHROMAKOPIA high right now, even if it comes at the expense of some pretty shocked casual listeners. With every new album cycle, a fresh set of folks new to T discover his controversial old lyrics, something he’s talked about and reckoned with a lot in more recent material. So much so, in fact, that he specifically called out Taylor Swift fans for their context-lacking criticism. “I got Swifties all mad at me with their racist a**,” the Hawthorne native joked during a short show in Boston yesterday (Thursday, October 31). “Bringing up old lyrics. B***h, go listen to ‘Tron Cat,’ I don’t give a f**k, h*e. The f**k, b***h? They gon’ bring out the old me.”

For those unaware, this probably came up because Tyler, The Creator overtook Taylor Swift’s No. 1 position on Spotify’s global Top Artists chart. It’s more of a battle between fanbases rather than between the artists, as Tyler was probably just generalizing a much larger group than Swifties here rather than calling out the superstar singer herself directly. Nevertheless, the commercial and critical success of CHROMAKOPIA made a heavy mark, although it’s sad to see it result in fans bickering over their preference. More importantly, it minimizes actual dialogue and conversation about these lyrics, which have understandable and legitimate arguments on both sides.

But we know well that Tyler, The Creator would much rather talk about the quality of his music than these narratives. “At 1:54 of ST CHROMA, that siren and low end together feels like a blast wave after an explosion,” he recently tweeted about his favorite CHROMAKOPIA moments. “The ’20 thousand on me…’ part of RAH TAH TAH, the delivery is from a d*mb joke of mine but i couldnt get it outta my head, why not record it.”

With all this in mind, it will be interesting to see whether or not Tyler, The Creator or Taylor Swift actually speak on this in any direct way. They could either fuel their fanbases to be even more insufferably combative or show them the light. It’s a big responsibility to carry, but such is the state of Internet Stan culture these days.
