Zion Williamson has shown off a prominent new tattoo on his chest of a large cross with a snarling lion peeking through it. However, the design was thoroughly clowned online as it is slightly off-center. The meaning behind the tattoo is unclear but Williamson appeared pretty happy with the design. However, several other commenters remarked that Williamson should be focusing on his fitness and not new ink. This comes after Williamson’s alleged ex, porn star Moriah Mills, told Williamson to “get on the treadmill” and cut things like soda from his diet. Furthermore, the final three years of Williamson’s contract recently became non-guaranteed due to the significant amount of time he has missed due to injury in recent seasons. While Williamson can earn back guaranteed protection, the Grizzlies are currently able to cut him after the 2024/25 season without financial penalty. The contract change came into effect as Williamson missed more than 22 games last season.

Ja Morant Criticized For Gun Celebration

However, Williamson isn’t the only thing from the Grizzlies-Pelicans matchup people are talking about. Ja Morant has once again created controversy after he seemingly pulled a gun celebration after dropping a game-sealing alley-oop. Morant appeared to fire off two imaginary guns before running back down the court. Of course, this caused a lot of outrage given that Morant is just four games into a season cut short by a gun-related suspension. However, the Grizzlies appeared to be a fan of the move, sharing the clip to the team’s official X account.

The win over the Pelicans marked the Grizzlies’ fourth consecutive win, meaning the team is 4-0 since Morant returned to the team. Morant had a game-high 31 points along with 7 assists. However, Morant was also tied for a game-high 6 turnovers with Williamson. Williamson had 23 points and 11 rebounds in the one-point loss. It was just Williamson’s second double-double in the month of December.

Jaire Alexander Suspended For Coin Toss Blunder

Jaire Alexander has been suspended for one game by the Green Bay Packers for his actions during the coin toss against the Panthers last weekend. Alexander joined the team captains for the toss and won with a call of tails. However, Alexander then declared that the Packers “wanted to defend”. This is not the same as saying that the team wanted to defer their pick until the second half. If the game official hadn’t clarified with Alexander, it could have seen the Panthers start both halves of the game with the ball.

“The decision to suspend a player is never easy and not one we take lightly. Unfortunately, Jaire’s actions prior to the game in Carolina led us to take this step. As an organization, we have an expectation that everyone puts the team first. While we are disappointed, we had a good conversation with Jaire this morning. We fully expect him to learn from this as we move forward together. We look forward to welcoming him back next week. He is a valued member of this team and will continue to be in the future,” GM Brian Gutekunst said in a statement.

Packers Without Jaire Alexander For Crucial Vikings Game

However, the decision to suspend Alexander means that the Packers will be without the star cornerback for a do-or-die game against the Vikings. Both teams are 7-8 and are still in the running for the NFC wild-card spot. However, the loser of next weekend’s game will be eliminated from contention. The decision to suspend Alexander means that the Packers will have to find another way to contain Justin Jefferson.

Alexander didn’t show any remorse for the incident after the game. “It’s only suiting. I don’t think Coach knew I was from Charlotte, so,” he explained why he went to the toss with the team captains. Alexander has missed a great deal of the season with a shoulder injury. Furthermore, this comes at the tail end of a season in which Alexander forfeited $700,000 by skipping most of the team’s offseason training. He attempted to justify this by saying that he stayed at the Packers’ facility longer than most players after the end of last season.

Bill Russell Rookie Card Sells For $660,000

Earlier this year, in an auction conducted by PWCC Marketplace, a 1957 Topps Bill Russell rookie card sold for $660,000. Not only does it break the record for a Bill Russell card, but it also becomes the third-highest-selling pre-1980s basketball card. The only cards to sell for more money are a 1961 Wilt Chamberlain rookie card ($670,000, June 2022) and a 1948 George Mikan card ($800,000, March 2022).

Russell’s memorabilia was a rarity until fairly recently. In 2021, he facilitated the auction of more than 700 items from his Hall of Fame career. Sold between December 2021 and April 2022, the auction’s total profits were in excess of $9 million. This included $1 million for a game-worn jersey from the series-clinching win of the 1969 Finals. The profits were sent to a number of Boston-area charities, including Russell’s own non-profit, Mentor. However, if the past is anything to go by, the current record will not stand for long. Especially after Russell’s death, the value of his memorabilia has spiked.

Lizzo “Heartbroken” After Beloved Dog Pooka Passes Away

Fans have seen countless celebrities taking part in holiday festivities this week but unfortunately, Lizzo’s in the process of mourning. The songstress took to social media earlier this week to reveal that she’s lost her pet dog, Pooka. It’s unconfirmed what led to her beloved pup’s passing. She’s made it clear, however, that the loss has been difficult to swallow.

She took to Instagram yesterday to share a variety of photos of herself and loved ones posing with Pooka. “I’m not ok im so heartbroken rip Pooka,” she captioned the carousel. Countless fans have come through with words of support as she reckons with the animal’s passing, noting how difficult losing a pet can be. “We will always love you, Pooka Diamanté Jefferson,” Lizzo captioned another sweet shot of her and the dog. “4•10•2005 – 12•24•2023.”

Lizzo Says Goodbye To Pooka

While the loss of her pet has certainly put a damper on the “Juice” performer’s holiday, it’s not the only unfortunate circumstance plaguing her as of late. Earlier this year, she was hit with a lawsuit from various former backup dancers who accused her of sexual harassment and other workplace misconduct. She’s since moved to have the documents sealed, though the judge has yet to rule on the motion. Her team argues that “documents, correspondence and testimony that contain sensitive, confidential information and/or proprietary business information, including employee compensation, contract negotiation, and third-party sensitive contact information” should not be available to the public.

After addressing the allegations and denying any wrongdoing, Lizzo shared last month that she’s in the process of self-improvement. “I’m working.. on music, myself, relationships with people and food, my anxiety, my body, my business, and my trust issues with the world. Earlier this week, Kanye West took to social media with a post that surprised a lot of fans. He posted a blank picture with black text over top of it, which is pretty standard for celebrities trying to say something serious. But the text was in Hebrew, meaning for most fans it needed translation. When that translation came through the post got even more surprising.

“I sincerely apologize to the Jewish community for any unintended outburst caused by my words or actions. It was not my intention to hurt or demean, and I deeply regret any pain I may have caused. I am committed to starting with myself and learning from this experience to ensure greater sensitivity and understanding More in the future. Your forgiveness is important to me, and I am committed to making amends and promoting unity,” Kanye’s Instagram post reads. But now new details are emerging about the post, including a concerning allegation of using AI. When TMZ put the statement into a software designed to recognize AI-generated texts, the red flags emerged. The program gave the statement an 85% likelihood of being generated by an AI text platform. The revelation obviously isn’t a great look for the rapper. It gives the appearance that he didn’t mean the words he posted, though there’s no way of definitively proving the statement really came from AI.

In the wake of the comments Kanye got a response from the Anti-Defamation League. “After causing untold damage by using his vast influence and platform to poison countless minds with vicious antisemitism and hate, an apology in Hebrew may be the first step on a long journey towards making amends to the Jewish community and all those who he has hurt. Ultimately, actions will speak louder than words but this initial act of contrition is welcome,” their response read.
