The Weeknd Admits He Suffered A Panic Attack Before Interview Discussing Mental Health Struggles

The Weeknd spoke candidly about his struggles with anxiety during an interview with Billboard Brazil ahead of Saturday night’s massive concert in São Paulo. In doing so, he admitted that he suffered a panic attack just before the conversation and is constantly dealing with anxiety.

“It’s funny you should mention this [mental health]. I just had a panic attack right before this interview,” he admitted to the outlet. “My anxiety is a constant battle, and I feel like it never goes away. I’m learning to control it, but I’ve already realized that it’s part of my life. I can’t escape it.”

From there, he discussed the struggle he’s felt with finding his purpose. “The biggest challenge is not knowing if you were made for this, not knowing if it was meant to be. Most people still don’t know. I feel very lucky. I was able to take these depressive and nihilistic feelings and put them into my work. That ended up being my therapy,” he said. Billboard noted that he was raised in an Ethiopian Orthodox Christian household before he mentioned his connection to God. “I think about giving up every day. But I also find purpose every day,” he said. “My relationship with God is stronger than ever. I find comfort in His presence when I need it most. I talk to Him constantly. It’s been a long journey, but I’m here.”

50 Cent performed in front of a ton of celebrities for the launch of Poppi’s new Cherry Cola flavor in honor of New York Fashion Week on Friday night in his hometown. As caught by TMZ, those in attendance included: Emily Ratajkowski, Suni Lee, Michael Rainey Jr., Jasmine Tookes, Camille Kostek, Devon Windsor, Brooks Nader, Georgia Fowler, Ari Melber, Kevin Love, Patrick Ta, Lisa Barlow, and Meredith Marks. For the event, 50 performed several of his most popular songs from throughout his career. He rocked a white and red Versace t-shirt with a matching red New York Yankee hat.

Taking to Instagram afterward, he shared two posts in honor of the event. In one, he uploaded a screenshot of a Variety article covering the party with the caption: “I ain’t gonna hold you I had mad fun last night NYC Fashion week!” In another, he shared a video recap from the night. Fans showed plenty of love to 50 in the comments section. “This your year man. Thank you for putting on for the City and showing us NY niggas how to do it,” one user wrote. Rich Homie Quan’s Dad Recalls One Of His Last Conversations With The Late Rapper

Rich Homie Quan’s father, Corey Lamar, has addressed his son’s death on social media, after he passed away, earlier this week at the age of 34. He said he is in “unbearable pain” after the tragedy and described himself as feeling like he’d been “crushed to a million pieces.” In another post the following day, he also recalled a conversation they had about spending time together while Quan was in Miami for an upcoming show. “I booked my flight, booked us a nice mansion to stay in not knowing my son wouldn’t be here to go with me. Moral of the tomorrow’s not promised. Enjoy life and make memories with your love ones!!!” he wrote.

When The Shade Room shared the posts on Instagram, fans showed love for their apparent bond in the comments section. “Man they had the coolest father and son relationship I’ve seen,” one user remarked. “They were best friends. Quan didn’t make a financial decision or business move without his daddy approval. They were so close. This shatters me.” Another wrote: “That man didn’t play about his daddy and his daddy didn’t play about him.”

His girlfriend, Amber Williams, who found his body at their home in Atlanta, also shared a statement on Saturday. “This pain is unbearable,” Williams wrote. “The love you all have shown is an over flow. I truly appreciate everyone who’s reached out. I’m traumatized from a moment that’ll forever be in my head. I have nothing to prove because my love for my other half was ALWAYS shown, I had nothing to hide. Please respect me and the family at this time. Our house is no longer a home. I’m completely heartbroken 15 years gone. I’ll never be the same. This is a complete nightmare. We never could let go, but you didn’t have to leave me like this. #Numb.”

Angel Reese’s season is officially over after suffering a wrist injury during the Chicago Sky’s win over the Los Angeles Sparks on Friday night. She made the shocking announcement on social media on Saturday night with a lengthy statement.

“What a year. I never would have imagined the last bucket of my rookie season would be a 3 but maybe that was God saying give them a taste of what they will be seeing more of in Year 2 lol,” Reese began. “Through it all, I have showed that I belong in this league even when no one else believed. All I have ever wanted was to come into the W and make an impact. I can confidently say I have done that and will strive to keep doing so. I’m filled with emotions right now that I have a season ending injury, but also filled with so much gratitude for what is next. Although this is God’s timing and not mine, I am finally able to give myself a physical and mental break. ‘God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers.’”

The appearance comes after Carti shared a screenshot of himself on FaceTime with the iconic singer, last month. The two previously worked together on the song “Popular” with Madonna as well.

Carti kicked off his time on stage with a performance of his Travis Scott collaboration, “FE!N.” Rocking a throwback Vince Carter jersey, he then transitioned into the previously unheard new song. Both The Weeknd and Carti are preparing for new albums that are expected to release before the end of the year. Further details on the upcoming track are unclear.
