2KBaby Drops “Don’t Love Me Now” Ahead Of Upcoming Album

Currently gearing up for the debut of his upcoming project Scared 2 Love, 2KBaby just offered fans a new single before the album’s February release.

“Don’t Love Me Now,” which features rising Seattle musician charlieonnafriday, shows 2KBaby getting real about his upbringing and past struggles.

“I was just invisible / Thought I wouldn’t be nothin’ and I’m bein’ litеral / We was the lil’ Gs, young, outside, livin’ critical,” the 22-year-old rapped on the track, using a storytelling style similar to his viral song “OLD STREETS.”

Released in 2019, the hit drew in millions of views on YouTube and earned the young rap artist a solid fanbase. The Lousiville native eventually caught the attention of Lil Durk, who joined 2K Baby for the song’s remix.

In an interview with All Hip Hop in 2021, 2KBaby opened up about wanting to experiment with different genres in his music.

“I want to make everything,” he told the outlet. “Lately I’ve been trying to make pop and other sh*t, but I always continue to do what got me here. I always continue to make music in the lab for the streets, for my people that still love “Old Streets” and still love Lil Sage. I’m definitely trying to master everything in the background.”

Kamaiyah Floats On Melodic New Single “Thru The Week”

Oakland artist Kamaiyah is back with a hot new single fresh on the heels of her latest EP Keep It Lit. With an upbeat chorus and equally catchy lyrics, “Thru The Week” is giving fans exactly what they need to bring in the new year.

Kamaiyah’s cover art for the track features the 30-year-old cheesing and holding two phones while having her makeup applied.

The rapper initially made a name for herself in the hip-hop scene after dropping her debut mixtape A Good Night in the Ghetto in 2016. The following year, Kamaiyah was listed as a member of XXL’s Freshman Class. Her accompanying freestyle currently boasts over one million views on YouTube.

After collaborating with YG on “Why You Always Hatin?” and signing with the Compton rapper’s 4Hunnid record label, she eventually revealed that she felt “miserable” there and accused the label of pushing back a past project.

Severing ties with 4Hunnid, Kamaiyah went on to create her own record label, GRND.WRK, INC.

In a sit-down with Flaunt Magazine in 2021, Kamaiyah revealed that, as an artist, she’d much rather vent and express herself through music instead of running to tell social media about her business.

“That’s what I feel the music is for. We’ve gotten into a time now because everything’s so digital, everybody feels they have to explain themselves on social media. That’s what they try to force you to believe. Personally to me, that’s what the artistry’s for,” she stated.

“That’s what it’s created for, these platforms we have for music is diluting the game,” Kamaiyah continued, adding, “All of that social media shit, Twitter and Instagram, a n*gga will go there and explain some shit that they could’ve put in a song. What better way than the music if you’re an artist? That’s how I look at it.”

Chris Brown Joins Vedo On “Do You Mind” Single: Stream

Another New Music Friday is upon us, and several of our favourite R&B artists are coming in hot already in 2023. Earlier, we debuted a new song from Queen Naija, “Let’s Talk About It.” Now, we have a collaborative track from two talented male artists – Vedo and Chris Brown – for your streaming pleasure.

Their joint effort is called “Do You Mind,” and it’s just as catchy and infectious as one would expect from these two. For his part, Breezy flirtatiously lyricizes, “I like what I like, I’m not the type that’s gon’ be stalkin’ you / Oh, I know I’m a player but I’ll wait up, shoot my shot and then I follow through.”

Vedo carries on the chorus as he sings, “Do you mind if I come through? Mind if I touch you? Mind if I mess up your frontal? Pour it up, roll it up, wе can smoke too.”

As Rated R&B notes, the new arrival marks the second single from the artist’s forthcoming Mood Swings project. It’s due out next Friday (January 13) via New Wav Music Group/Island Prolific/EMPIRE.

The last single shared by Vedo is “Forever,” which landed back in November of 2022. The next month, he additionally treated fans to a live performance video of the same track.

As for the “With You” hitmaker, his holiday offerings previously landed on our annual HNHH Christmas playlist, which you can stream here.

Stream Vedo and Chris Brown’s collaboration, “Do You Mind” on Spotify or Apple Music below. Afterward, tell us your thoughts on the catchy new track in the comments.

Queen Naija Returns With “Let’s Talk About It” Single

Starting the year off on a powerful, confrontational note is none other than Queen Naija. For the first New Music Friday of 2023, she’s debuting a new single called “Let’s Talk About It.” It specifically finds her calling out the “self-absorbed and drama-obsessed men of the world.”

The song was co-written by the vocalist herself and Mike Woods, known for his work with G-Eazy, Tink, and finally, Ty Dolla $ign. Oak Felder took care of production. He also has an impressive resume after working with Kehlani, Nicki Minaj, and Pink $weats.

Throughout her lyrics, Naija markedly holds male listeners accountable for their confusing antics. “Putting up a front to hide behind your traumas / Takin’ all your anger out on me won’t solve ‘em,” she sings on the second verse.

Later the R&B diva adds, “Had a real one by your side, but you just lost one.”

In the accompanying music video, Queen Naija recklessly drives over obviously winding roads. Upon arriving at an abandoned warehouse, two other women aid in bringing out a man who’s been tied up.

BMF actor Lil Meech was cast as the male lead. He expertly plays the role of the songstress’s troubled lover.

Sick of puttin’ all these egotistical, n*ggas on a pedestal
All up in a woman’s business, worry ’bout your revenue

Erica Banks Takes On Yung Joc’s “It’s Goin Down” On New Freestyle

Erica Banks is coming through 2023 swinging. Following a highly productive year in 2022, she came through with brand new heat today. The Texas rapper shared her freestyle over Yung Joc’s “It’s Goin Down” this morning. Off the rip, Banks makes it clear that she’s gunning for the top. “Bitch, you know who I am/ Ain’t no bitches holdin’ me,” she declares as the beat kicks in. Then, she asserts herself as a leading lady in the rap game right now, whether or not anyone agrees with that sentiment.

At this point, Yung Joc hasn’t responded to Erica Banks’ remix of his record. However, she’s just one of a few who’ve paid homage to him recently. Just before 2022 ended, DaBaby released “Joc In 06,” which interpolates lyrics from “It’s Goin’ Down.”

Erica Banks is still on a roll, two years after the success of “Buss It.” Last year, she shared her new project, Diary Of The Flow Queen. The 13-song project, released via 1501 Certified Entertainment, was an exemplary showcase of her versatility. At the same time, she connected with artists like Bankroll Freddie and DreamDoll, proving that she could hold her own.

Hopefully, the release of her latest remix is an indication that she has more heat in the pipeline this year.

Check out Erica Banks’ remix of Yung Joc’s “It’s Goin Down” below. Do you think she did the beat justice? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section. Perhaps, this changes Yung Joc’s stance on the trajectory of female rap in 2023.

Chrisean Rock Says Her First Word Was “Hallelujah,” Shares New Gospel Song

Even our earliest memories stick with us all the way to adulthood, and sometimes they can result in some streams. Chrisean Rock teased a new gospel song called “Hallelujah” via Instagram and said that it was her first word. In the short clip, she sang along to the song’s lyrics and jumped up in excitement. Also, some trap drums come in later that makes it sound like a potentially hip-hop based cut. Whatever the case, Blueface’s lady was excited in the comments to share the track.

“Fun fact : my first word was hallelujah n made a gospel song called hallelujah,” she wrote. “In Jesus name this year 2023 with be nothing but abundance and more Love MORE LIFE Amen.”

In addition, there was another clip shared from her TikTok where her love of gospel comes through clearly. Moreover, she was chilling with her boo Blueface as they listened to a gospel song together. In the video, the California rapper is sitting down drinking, throwing up a few sets as the song plays. Meanwhile, Chrisean is dancing and singing along to the song, occasionally going in for a hug with her man.

However, Chrisean jokingly tried to stop Blueface from signing during the song. Even with all the years passed, there’s still that gut reaction, but it was a sweet moment. Still, it hasn’t been all peaches and cream for the two. In recent clips from their Crazy In Love reality show, they bickered over their relationship, with Chrisean saying it’s forced.

“I need space from this, like, forced-ass relationship,” she said. “Like, I don’t know if it’s a business-ship or a relationship. Is he with me because there’s opportunity in it, or [does] he really just want to be with me?”

While their relationship has been notoriously rocky, that clash unfortunately transcended beyond the couple’s boundaries. Blueface’s mom and Chrisean are notoriously at odds, especially after recent social media jabs.

What did you think of the clip of Chrisean’s new song “Hallelujah” and it being her first word? Let us know in the comments down below. Also, as always, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest in hip-hop relationships and upcoming music.

Smoke DZA Releases Monstrous Song, “What Would Push Do”

Smoke DZA just released a new album Money For Dummies, and it’s full of varied highlights and a little something for everyone. However, one of the album’s most visceral and immediate moments came in the form of “What Would Push Do.” Moreover, DZA fans might expect an even fusion of smooth flows, cloudy instrumentation, and a more classic-sounding beat. Still, the 38-year-old still has some tricks up his sleeve, as this track is undoubtedly nasty.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – FEBRUARY 16: Smoke DZA attends Conway “God Don’t Make Mistakes” Album Listening Party on February 16, 2022 in New York City. (Photo by Johnny Nunez/WireImage)

Firstly, the track title might raise some eyebrows at first. In fact, it references Pusha T’s track “What Would Meek Do?” off of his critically acclaimed 2018 album, DAYTONA. Not only does the instrumental follow a similar rhythm, tempo, and swing, but DZA’s delivery is similar to Push’s. Furthermore, there’s a nasty rasp to Smoke’s voice on this cut, to the point that one’s expecting Push’s “Yuuugh!” to pop out anytime.

Still, the obvious homage doesn’t dip too hard into rip-off territory. For one, DZA’s lyrical approach is a little more sprawling and varied. Then there’s the instrumental itself. The chorus of “Today, we selling’ bass” is emphasized by a monstrous drop. Moreover, the bass feels borderline overwhelming on this cut, which one can’t say about a chunk of his previous 2022 output.

What’s more is that “What Would Push Do” is the exception on Money For Dummies, not the rule. There’s more soulful boom-bap, drumless street tales, and wavy weed anthems. However, amid DZA’s skill set, this is a sound that fans surely wouldn’t mind seeing explored and developed.

What did you think of Smoke DZA’s new album cut, “What Would Push Do”? Let us know in the comments and peep some standout bars down below. Still, if you haven’t heard Money For Dummies yet, you can find the new song and album on your preferred streaming service. Also, as always, keep checking in on HNHH for the best new hip-hop each week.

Logic Drops “Like A Playwright” Freestyle, Says Rapping Isn’t A Contest For Him

He previously announced his plans to retire from the industry. However, Logic didn’t hold back on sharing plenty of new music in 2022. The year started with tracks like “Tetris,” “Decades,” and “Therapy Music” featuring Russ.

Those would all later appear on his Vinyl Days album, which made its mark back in June. Complete with 30 titles, the effort was an incredible arrival from someone who was planning on walking away from it all.

Since then, he’s also been heard on “Tanaka 2” with Joey Valence and Brae, as well as on the reprise of Justice’s “D.A.N.C.E.”

Of course, the “Nikki” rapper couldn’t let 2022 come to a close without flexing his lyrical chops one last time. Earlier this week, Logic delivered a fun-loving new freestyle via Instagram, titled “Like A Playwright.”

“When the vibes is right / Chilling with the homies / Tryna dodge the plight / Rapper by day, but I’m a dad by night / You can have all the money but your time finite,” he cooly rhymes from the comfort of his own home.

Countless friends dropped by the comment section to show love. Among them are Juicy J, Royce da 5’9, and Travis Thompson. “Wassup with them beats tho?” the latter wrote.

Check out Logic’s quick-witted “Like A Playwright” freestyle on Instagram below. Afterward, let us know what you hope to see from the “rapper by day, dad by night” next year in the comments.

Ice Spice’s New Single Has Her “in ha mood”

Undoubtedly one of 2022’s biggest breakout stars was Ice Spice. Seemingly coming out of nowhere, the Bronx baddie has since captured the hearts of many with tracks like “Munch (Feelin’ U)” and “Bikini Bottom.” Before the year ends, she gave fans one last treat in the form of “in ha mood.”

While the song isn’t available on streamers like Spotify or Apple Music at the moment, it can be heard on both YouTube and SoundCloud. The 22-year-old has been teasing the catchy tune on TikTok for some time, and finally decided to drop it off in full for listeners.

The portion of the single that’s been making rounds on social media finds Spice rhyming, “In the party, he just wanna rump / Big boobs and the butt stay plump / She a baddie, she know she a ten / She a baddie with her baddie friend.”

Later on she bodaciously brags, “Step in the party, I’m lookin’ the baddest / So the paparazzi in my face.”

In the caption of her YouTube upload, Spice confirmed that she has a project on the way. However, no official release date or other information was provided, leaving us to speculate.

Back in September, she linked up with B-Lovee, Skillibeng, and J.I the Prince of N.Y for “One Time.” Since then, she’s only achieved further superstardom, which means the collaborations to come in the future are likely to be nothing short of iconic.

Stream Ice Spice’s “in ha mood” on SoundCloud below. Afterward, let us know what your favourite single from the New Yorker has been this year in the comments.

NBA YoungBoy Drops New Song, “Letter To Big Dump”

As 2022 comes to a close, NBA YoungBoy is keeping his foot on the gas. Just last week, he dropped off his eighth project of the year, Lost Files.

On Wednesday (December 28), he returns to drop off yet another single, “Letter To Big Dump.” The song serves as the Baton Rouge native’s tribute to his late friend, Big Dump. He was tragically shot and killed four years ago, in 2018.

Throughout the track’s nearly nine-minute runtime, the 23-year-old candidly reflects on losing people close to him. Moreover, he addresses the effects that these losses have on him. Drums are noticeably absent from the beat, as YoungBoy instead opts to get deep over a simple guitar loop.

“Look inside my eyes, I know they seen evil / But I been this way since I was a child and I feel I’m the one who deserve to leave here / I had a conversation with the man who contracted your life to be gone / I hope you seen my progress and glad I’m movin’ on, I’m grown” the Baton Rouge native sings explicitly in the first verse.

He dedicates the outro to addressing Dump directly, talking in a stream-of-conscious manner. “I’m over here, I’m gettin’ myself together, Dump / I’m startin’ the real n*gga, I’m too real / I’m holdin’ it down, man, I know, I know for a fact, you proud,” he says.

Although the new track is yet to arrive on streaming platforms, make sure to listen to it on YouTube above for now. Comment your thoughts on the song afterwards. Finally, make sure to tune into our newest holiday playlist here.

Quotable Lyrics:

They think I’m crazy from all this pain runnin’ deep through me
All the hurtful things, I just sit ’round and play like I don’t see
Give up all these things for to feel my grandma kiss on me
Broke down and I cried, ran to the bathroom, Jaz followed behind
