This project is a lot of fun to listen to, dissect, and just vibe out with. Bas delivered a multitude of atmospheres and topical focus. It makes it arguably his best full body of work in his rock solid career.

Over the past week and a half or so, we have touched on some of our personal favorites from the LP. “Black Jedi,” “Risk,” and “Decent” were the ones that stood out at HNHH. However, you also have heavy-hitting collaborations with J. Cole. Bas not only had Cole perform on the mic, but also behind the keyboard. He had a hand in the deeper cut “Dr. O’blivion.”

Fabolous Raps About His Experience In Tulum With “Tuluminati” As Part Of The Freestyle Friday Series

The latter part of 2023 has been heavy on the freestyling. Over the past couple of months, we have seen various legends and new stars flex their lyrical prowess over other artists’ beats. For example, Drake put everyone up to the challenge to spit on top of the instrumentals for his For All The Dogs Scary Hours Edition. An EP was put out in late November of strictly the beats of the six additional tracks. A couple of rappers accepted the challenge, including Fabolous.

One of New York’s finest talents took Drake’s comments to heart by laying down bars on top of “Evil Ways.” Since that time, Fabolous has seemingly been inspired by that as he has begun his freestyle abilities to the test in a different way. Last week, Fab kickstarted a series where every Friday he would drop a new freestyle. “Benzgiving” was the first to hit the market and its racked up nearly one million views.

According to HipHopDX, Fabolous recently took a trip to the small town of Tulum, which is located in southern Mexico. The hitmaker posted about his visit on Instagram, which turned out to be for a celebration of his birthday. Krayzie Bone put himself into a hospital in Los Angeles after he was battling some potentially fatal personal health issues. The Cleveland rapper was dealing with a leaking lung artery and was viciously coughing up blood. It was truly a scary moment for him, the fans, and of course his closest friends. Layzie Bone himself shared a deep message to the people reaching out for support of their bandmate.

One of New York’s many rappers, Troy Ave, recently carried on his lengthy album series, White Christmas. It is a collection of LPs in which its first release dates back to Christmas of 2012. There is not a lot about these projects that relates to the widely celebrated holiday, outside of some song titles and album covers. Nonetheless, it is Troy’s halo series and one that fans are still enjoying to this day. He is now up to the 11th entry and it was put out on streaming platforms just this past Friday (December 22).

This newest iteration features a lot of solid tracks. The production is vast and even sees Troy dip into his singing bag. However, he sounds quite awkward on it, even though it is one of the more personal songs on the record. Besides that, there are not a lot of lulls in the tracklist. The first half is especially strong.

One song in the first fourth of the project that is worth talking about is “Roberta Flack.” The title is a reference to a retired soul singer who had plenty of number-one hits. Drakeo The Ruler And RONRONTHEPRODUCER Drop Off Quickie “LMK Something”

Drakeo the Ruler’s estate is making sure that his legacy within West Coast street rap continues to carry on. The now 30-year-old artist from Los Angeles, California was fatally stabbed backstage at the Once Upon a Time Festival that took place in his hometown. He was just 28 and still was looking to his mark on the hip-hop world. Drakeo’s mother was able to be strong enough to describe what went down. She described that her younger son, also known as Ralfy the Plug, tried to help, but it was too late, according to XXL.

“He was trying to fight, but when he turned around, he could see his brother with blood gushing out of him. He was like, ‘Did they stab you?’ It was like, there were so many of them.” What was even worse, his mother did not have a chance to console her child one last time at the hospital since it was a homicide. We hate to revisit this topic and we continue to send our condolences to Drakeo’s mother and the rest of his family and friends.
