A couple of months ago, Jaidyn Alexis shocked the music world with a decent banger called “Barbie.” Her man and MILF Music label founder, Blueface, had a huge hand in the song’s success. The Cali native had writing credits and it is a big reason why so many are vibing with it. Jaidyn and Blueface are back for more, with a remix.

However, this is not just a new version with a full verse from the “Thotiana” hitmaker. He is sending shots right at Offset, Cardi B, and Soulja Boy. He raps, “Offset upset Cardi got the update / Soulja Boy mad he found out his b**** f****d late.” Of course, the first part of those lyrics is a reference to the time Blueface revealed that the Migos member hooked up with Chrisean Rock.

In terms of the Soulja Boy part, that is a diss toward the ongoing beef between them. That all began when Blueface said he could take on the “Crank That” hitmaker in a Verzuz battle. Luh Tyler And Tony Shhnow Showcase Some Chemistry On “POP OUT”

Both Luh Tyler and Tony Shhnow were dropping new music on a consistent basis throughout 2023. For the 17-year-old sensation out of Florida, he put forth his debut project My Vision. Tyler brought on some big guests including one of his biggest co-signers, Lil Uzi Vert, on “Ransom.” In addition to that tape, he released 15 singles. The most recent one, “The Grinch Freestyle,” saw what Tyler could do alongside Latto. On the other side, Tony was prolific as well.

If you thought Tyler was busy, think again. The California rapper fed the streets and then some with over 20 singles! For LPs, Tony Shhnow had his solo effort Love Streak in April. Then, on October 31, he collided with Robb Bank$ on I Can’t Feel My Face Too. Now, these two fresh faces are meeting for the first time on a YouTube single.

Overall, she was able to secure some massive collaborations with the likes of Taylor Swift, and even Nicki Minaj. Although some were questioning the sustainability of her success, she ended up putting a lot of those questions to rest. Heading into 2024, she is primed and ready for another big year, especially with the Grammys on the horizon.

Last night, Ice Spice found herself as part of the rollout for Playboi Carti’s brand-new track “BACKR00MS.” The song features Travis Scott, and leading up to the song’s release, Carti was shouting her out. She had posted some raunchy photos for her birthday, and Carti ended up reposting them. As it turns out, there is even a bar on the song about Carti needing a “Munch” like Ice Spice. Spice was taking notice, and once the song dropped, she ended up showing some love. “Backr00ms,” she tweeted while adding a lipstick kiss emoji.

As for the song itself, it is yet another lowkey and mysterious song from the artist. With each new album era, Carti has delivered a new sound. However, this is by far the biggest departure from his core sound yet. Regardless, it seems to be a sound that fans are genuinely enjoying. Carti is always finding new ways to reinvent himself, and this new era could birth his best album yet. Only time will tell whether or not that album actually comes out anytime soon. Based on some estimations, the album is going to come in January.

Playboi Carti Brings Travis Scott Into The Opium-verse With “BACKR00MS”

Playboi Carti has been looking to drop new music this year. Overall, it is being speculated that he will be coming through with an album this month. He has dropped four singles so far. Firstly, he came through with “Different Day” which is also known as “UR THE MOON.” Secondly, he came through with “2024” which was an incredible departure from his previous sounds. Subsequently, we got “H00DBYAIR” which is arguably the best of the bunch. Most recently, on Monday night, he dropped “BACKR00MS” with none other than Travis Scott.

This is a track that was being promoted by a plethora of stars. Travis Scott himself, Kanye West, and even Ice Spice came through with their praise for the new track. At 9:30 PM EST last night, the music video for the track debuted, and it was certainly an impressive display. As you can see below, the video has a similar feel and aesthetic to the previous videos. However, this time around, we see Carti delivering a subdued performance that matches up with the production perfectly.

So far, these new tracks are a huge departure from the sonics of Whole Lotta Red. Carti is embracing a new era, and so far, it is getting a lot of praise. With “BACKR00MS,” Carti is putting this new sound through its paces, and it seems to be working. Ultimately, it leads to a solid collaboration that helps cement the Opium founder’s new sound.

DC The Don Reflects On Tour Life In New Track “BACKSTAGE”

Earlier this week, DC The Don dropped his new project Sacred Heart 2 just in time for the holidays. The Milwaukee-born performer shared a message with Twitter followers ahead of the release, revealing that it was his curated gift to his fans. According to the 24-year-old, his car was robbed a while back, and the perpetrator stole his laptop and hard drive.

While he admits that the mix isn’t necessarily up to his standards on some tracks, he wanted to release them for fans anyway. The project is a follow-up to the Sacred Heart mixtape he dropped on Christmas in 2022 to hold fans over for his third studio album. He went on to unleash Funeral in May of last year.

“I couldn’t mix these but I wanted you to have them,” he wrote alongside a kiss emoji. There a quite a few standout songs on Sacred Heart 2, but one that’s quickly become a fan favorite is “BACKSTAGE.” The mellow track sees the Wisconsin native reminisce about being on the road, and all of the exciting chaos that comes along with it.

DC The Don doesn’t plan on slowing down anytime soon, with a new project already in the works. Rebirth, his follow-up to Funeral, is slated for release sometime in 2024. To end off the year, KayCyy has been dropping an array of singles. For instance, he recently dropped “Not Over” which comes with production from Kaytranada. He continues to attract some big names in the industry. This was something we saw with his work on Kanye West’s DONDA. That said, he is forging his own path, and on his latest release “Starts With Me,” we get a gorgeous ballad. Although as far as ballads are concerned, this one is a bit unorthodox in its vocal approach.

With this track, KayCyy starts off by delivering mumbled vocals that are hard to make out. However, as the song progresses, he becomes increasingly coherent as if his thoughts are beginning to clear up. Overall, it is a really cool concept and the vocals really hit all the way throughout. KayCyy has a way with melodies, and that is something that shines on “Starts With Me.” Hopefully, he continues this streak with even more great releases at the top of the year.
