Real Boston Richey Pens A Bop For The Players With “Come Outside (So Sick)”

Real Boston Richey is one a few rappers on Future’s Freebandz label that has been seeing some success. Artists like Doe Boy and Young Scooter fit that similar mold. However, none of these names have truly become household acts under the Atlanta legend’s tutelage. But the Tallahassee, Florida native could become that one name that blows up. We feel that way because Real Boston Richey is making songs like “Come Outside (So Sick).”

What we mean by this is that he seems to have found a nice blend of sounds. It’s nothing that hasn’t been done before, but prior to his viral hit “Help Me,” it felt like he was going nowhere fast. But this mixture of moody trap and mild R&B that was prevalent on that record looks to be the secret recipe for him. It’s applied to great effect on other tracks on Richey Rich such as “Still Pray” and “Come Outside.” The latter is more R&B oriented with its chipmunk sampled background vocals and light keys. Lyrically it fits that billing too, as he raps in his raspy voice about encouraging a woman in relationship to link with him instead. With already over 180,000 views on YouTube, fans seem to agree that Richey is finding himself as an artist with tracks like this.

Quotable Lyrics:

He ain’t on this s***, baby, come outside with me
Bad b**** from out the country, I’m from Florida, she think I’m Z
She say, “You talk slow and you got perms like Yak and Koly P”
Now she in back of the truck tryna get me to teach her how to yell out, “Glee”
Now we drunk, we in that vibe, lookin’ for more liquor and more weed
Don’t go back on your word, you posted on Twitter, said you was f***-n**** free

Hitkidd, Rico Nasty, Duke Deuce, & Xavier Wulf Drop Off A Crunk Anthem With “B.W.T.U.”

Hitkidd threw his name into the “election” this past weekend with his new tape, Hitkidd For President. It’s the Memphis producer’s fourth project overall and second this year. If you haven’t heard of his work before, go check out GloRilla’s “F.N.F (Let’s Go)” and then come back. He’s been moving up the ranks for the past five years and he’s looking to be one of the faces of Memphis hip-hop that will carry the sound on for decades. He’s still just 29, so he’s certainly got the time to really stamp his name into the region’s rich history of rap. Hitkidd For President had been in the works for about a year or so, with the first single, “Throw Ya Signs Up!” dropping back in August 2023.

It seems like the mission for this body of work was to bring more modern-sounding bangers with some odes to subgenres from the city. One of those is crunk, which is prevalent on the stacked Hitkidd collaboration between Rico Nasty, Duke Deuce, and Xavier Wulf, “B.W.T.U.” That stands for “B**** We Turnt Up” and that acronym is a very accurate representation of the track. Right after the sung chants of “Start a f***ing revolution,” Duke Deuce comes in and immediately gets you ready for what’s ahead. His now iconic and drawn-out catchphrase “What the f***” and “Aye aye” adlibs set the tone perfectly for Rico’s nasty delivery (pun intended) and Xavier’s old-school Memphis delivery on the backend. It’s a banger through and through and an instant save from the project. You can spin it for yourself, below.

Lil Nas X Hints At New “Dreamboy” Era With Single Announcement

Lil Nas X has dropped a whole lot of music in 2024 in anticipation of his NASARATI 2 mixtape, and it looks like there’s even more on the way. Moreover, he returned on Sunday (November 10) to announce that “phase 1” of Dreamboy, presumably a new album, will begin today (Monday, November 11). The pop sensation announced the new single “Light Again,” which will drop this week. While some fans are still wondering about that mixtape, maybe this is just that exact same era but under a different name. Regardless, music listeners are still excited to hear this follow-up, especially considering the wait in between projects.

“I don’t know how long I’m going to be able to have this s**t up, or I don’t know what my CEO thinks right now, or whatever,” Lil Nas X remarked when he revealed a demo version of “Light Again” back in March. “[…] Bro, these last couple years have been crazy, ’cause I’ve made so much music and I just want to release music. I just want to release music, but expectations are just, like… insane. Like, I can’t even have fun. I just want to f***ing have fun with this s**t. I don’t even give a f**k about all the other s**t. Of course I want to, like, be number one all the time, I want every song to go up, and I want you to go crazy.

“But it’s, like, at the same time, I want to f***ing have fun, I want to go and live life, I just want to make music,” Lil Nas X continued. “I don’t want to have to do crazy s**t all the time. I want to make music, I want to f***ing have fun, I want to live.” For those unaware, some previous singles include the Kevin Abstract collaboration “Tennessee.”

Meanwhile, some social media antics can get in the way of these celebrations, but such is life for Lil Nas X. He recently clashed online with Azealia Banks via a pretty nasty Twitter feud. Hopefully we get less of that from the haters moving forward and more of this exciting and long-awaited new era.

Real Boston Richey Recruits Lil Yachty For “Still Gon Go”

Last week, Real Boston Richey unleashed his highly anticipated sophomore studio album, Richey Rich. The project follows his 2023 effort Welcome to Bubba Land, as well as both of his Public Housing mixtapes. The Tallahassee rapper’s latest album boasts features by GloRilla, YTB Fatt, and more. He even joined forces with Lil Yachty for the track “Still Gon Go,” and so far, fans are feeling the collab.

Lil Yachty’s signature mellow flow pairs well with the hard-hitting beat and dreamy instrumental, and his verse makes for a solid addition to the song. “The energy that Yatchy brought Richey to on here is fiah,” one fan on Youtube writes. “Yachty , wess and mitch can’t miss top tier producer rapper trio,” another says. The release of Richey Rich follows the success of his single “Help Me,” which appears on the album and was first unveiled in May of this year.

It also follows some legal issues Real Boston Richey ran into at the beginning of 2024. He was reportedly arrested by federal agents in February for alleged conspiracy to traffic marijuana just in time for his 27th birthday. What do you think of Real Boston Richey’s new sophomore album, Richey Rich? What about his collaborative track with Lil Yachty, “Still Gon Go”? Do you hope to hear the two of them team up again in the future or not? Share your thoughts in the comments section and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates. Check out the track down below.

Ab-Soul Muses About Self-Confidence, Fame, & Expectations On Powerful Doechii Collab “I, Myself & Me”

Ab-Soul’s whole mission was to embody the spirit of his late friend “Doe Burger,” who tragically lost his life in 2021 on Soul Burger. It’s the latest album from one of the longest tenured TDE members and in speaking with Billboard, he explains just how important Doe was and still is to him and this tape. “We were yin and yang in a lot of ways. I just really wanted to channel him the best I could to keep him with me. I say this often, but I don’t know how I’m doing this without him. My only logical explanation is that he must be with me,” Ab-Soul said. “This is an album I feel like he wanted me to make. He was a true tastemaker. I valued his opinion. A real artist in his own right. I just really hope he would be proud of it.”

We think “Doe” would be ecstatic if he heard this, especially because Ab-Soul crushes it on his collaboration with Doechii, “I, Myself & Me.” His non-related brother always wanted him to create more danceable tunes, which there are on Soul Burger. However, it still sticks true to Ab’s roots with thought-provoking and detailed listening experiences. “I, Myself & Me” is one of those, with the California native spilling his pain and thoughts onto this powerful and emotional cut. He expresses a lot of self-doubt, stresses about the industry and its vices, and wrestles with the expectations laid upon him. However, perhaps through the spirit of “Doe Burger” he shows some signs of resiliency. It’s maybe the best track of the week and one of the best of the year, so please spin it below.

Kenny Mason Drops High-Energy Banger “HOODRAT” Eight Months After Latest Album

West Atlanta rapper/rocker/singer Kenny Mason is back with his latest single. “HOODRAT” is Mason’s newest offering, coming about eight months after 9, his most recent album. Thanks to 2020’s Angelic Hoodrat and 2021’s Angelic Hoodrat: Supercut, Kenny Mason has built a reputation as one of the most versatile younger artists in hip-hop. He switches between more traditional Atlanta hip-hop flavor and grunge with ease. The newest track features Mason operating more in his rap bag, bringing it back to basics for the artist.

“HOODRAT” has a spacy beat, with a cloudy vocal sample that turns the track into something that Clams Casino would produce if he had an interest in making beats with 808s. There’s a contrast between Kenny Mason’s voice, which is more direct and aggressive, and the FearDorian-produced backing track. Lyrically, Mason takes the name of the track to heart. He raps about growing up with “hoodrats,” his dreams of making money as a kid, and how people reacted to him being in the streets. Of course, Mason has been focused on his music for years now, and he has found a lot of success in the four years since he first released Angelic Hoodrat. It will be interesting to see if his next album continues the versatile trend of his previous work, or if he will opt to stay in one lane for a release. Until he announces his next work, stream “HOODRAT” below.

Quotable Lyrics:

Grandad had a heart attack, I don’t got no heart attachеd
Whenever thе aliens find my art, it’ll be a artifact
Whenever my cousin find my Glock, it’ll be a mod attached
I be tryna front when you around, actin’ like I’m not attached
By the time I finish this song, my account gon’ get a hundred racks
I was dreamin’ ’bout this in seventh grade, they was tellin’ me not to rap

Loe Shimmy Selects Brent Faiyaz To Accompany Him For Remix Of Hit “For Me”

Since bubbling at the start of the 2020’s decade, Florida rapper Loe Shimmy is easily having his biggest year yet in 2024. The Pompano Beach native has ramped up his production exponentially, as he has put out now four projects. His Zombie series of records has ballooned up to 4.5 now thanks to him kicking things off with Zombieland 2 back in March. The .5, or .6 in this case, comes from the deluxe version of that aforementioned record. Finally, the latest entry is The Z Files, which features a series of remasters and other songs. However, that fourth project has broken the streak and its titled Nardy World.

It’s out as of today, November 8, but we want to shift our focus to one track in particular. Loe Shimmy and Brent Faiyaz are generating some buzz for their left-field collaboration, “For Me.” Outside of it being an unexpected link-up, it’s creating some excitement thanks to “For Me” being Loe’s biggest song. For context, the Zombieland 2 cut currently boasts over 12.5 million streams. Given the stark stylistic difference of these two, you would think this collaboration would have zero chance. Well, to be honest, it’s actually pretty decent. Faiyaz comes in with some of his smoothest vocals to date over the understated and lowkey skittering production. He steals the show to some degree, and we wouldn’t mind hearing him over the beat by himself someday. But let us know how you are feeling about it below.

Chris Patrick Is Feeling Like “Mr. Fantastic” On Def Jam Debut Single

Chris Patrick is a budding rapper from New Jersey. The artist has been touring with Russ this year, serving as the opener on the “It Was You All Along” tour. It appears that he has also signed with Def Jam as well. His latest single, “Mr. Fantastic,” was released under the legendary label. Def Jam has been undergoing a transformation in recent years. Many of the artists they signed in the early 2010s recently fulfilled their contractual obligations, including Logic and Vince Staples, who exited in 2022 and 2024, respectively. Patrick, who’s in his 20s, seems to be part of another youth movement for the label.

“Mr. Fantastic” is a strong single for Chris Patrick to make his Def Jam presence felt with. The beat is catchy and 808-heavy, but it has a light feel to it that’s reminiscent of a Smino track. Delivery wise, Patrick is similar to someone like Isaiah Rashad, with a laid-back flow that will cause you to miss a few words if you’re not paying close attention. He talks about traveling with a girl and “stretching her out like he’s Mr. Fantastic,” which is a witty line. Patrick also teased the track online for weeks and suggested that it would be out while he was on tour with Russ. It’s a smooth listen by an artist building some buzz for himself online. Check out “Mr. Fantastic” below, and take a listen to his mixtape THE CALM from earlier this year if you want to hear more of him.

Kevin Gates Drops Some Inspirational Gems On Introspective Single “Feel”

Baton Rouge, Louisiana rapper, singer, and songwriter Kevin Gates is back with “FEEL.” This is his second release in seven days, and it seems that there is an ongoing theme with them. The prolific veteran’s previous single, “Renewed Ambition,” focused a lot on blocking out the noise and not giving up on yourself during hard times. “FEEL” follows that similar blueprint but takes a more melodic approach. Gates isn’t necessarily known for his singing chops, however, they fit well with the messages, instrumental, and overall tone. “Renewed Ambition” is more self-confident, whereas “FEEL” comes across as more unsure and lowkey. Kevin Gates has great advice for anyone willing to listen, such as surrounding yourself with the right crowd.

Additionally, the “2 Phones” MC brings his personal experience into the fold, showing his vulnerable side. He speaks on his relationship with God and how he tends to not have enough faith in the path that he’s taking him down. It’s a really applicable thought that a lot of people who practice religion have almost certainly come face to face with. Furthermore, Kevin Gates drops a helpful truth bomb for the girls struggling with their appearance on “FEEL.” Social media can be a dangerous weapon against the youth and urges to women that not everyone is portraying their authentic selves. Overall, Gates is spitting about some real pressing issues, especially with the younger generation. Many fans are resonating with the contents and appreciating Gates’ willingness to touch on the topics. It’s been another busy run for him in 2024 and he’s ending the year of right with “FEEL.” Spin it below and let us know what you think of it in the comments.

Young Nudy Teases Sequel Album With Bouncy New Single “Right Now”

Young Nudy is not a wordsmith, he’s a vibe maker. The rapper has always thrived when it focuses on sticky hooks and choruses that get stuck in listeners’ ears after just one listen. Young Nudy is the kind of artist that will make one hum along even if one doesn’t know the words to a given song. This is precisely the case on Nudy’s new single, “Right Now.” As the lead single to his anticipated new album, Sli’merre 2, “Right Now” is a bouncy and laid back banger that proves the rapper still has the magic touch.

“Right Now” is not a particularly flashy song. It’s appeal lies in how relaxed it is, how it takes its time to envelop the listener with its sound construction. It would be a boring instrumental in the hands of some other rapper, probably. Young Nudy fits like it a glove, though. He glides over the ascending synth hits with a flow that belies his aggressive lyrics. “We got bricks and pounds, you can pull up shop right now,” he raps. “Bro from out of town, know they scamming sh*t right now.” The right now refrain is one of the catchiest Young Nudy has come up with to date, and a good indicator of hooks to come on Sli’merre 2.

Let us know what you think of this brand-new track, in the comments section down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.
