Tory Lanez Grabs His First Feature For The Latest Prison Tapes Installment Of “580 Benz” & “Rodeo Drive”

Tory Lanez is doing a couple of firsts this time around for his weekly “Prison Tapes Playlist”. Usually, the Brampton, Ontario native is giving us Lost Tapes or tracks recorded behind bars. For week number eight, we are getting one of the latter, that being “580 Benz”, and a “Twitch Tapes”, which is “Rodeo Drive”. According to Genius, “Rodeo Drive” was recorded on a live stream on the popular platform back on May 8, 2022. These “Twich Tapes” aren’t anything new necessarily, however, this is the first of its kind to see an official release. Also shaking things up a bit is the first cut we mentioned, “580 Benz”. Tory Lanez and his production team were able to coordinate a feature for this record.

That guest is HollywoodSos another Canadian rapper who appears to have some affiliation with Lanez’s independent label, One Umbrella Records. “First person I’m ever gonna feature on a prison tape is my older brother @itshollywoodsos”. He could just be talking about a friend, but if this is a family member, that’s a cool moment for Tory. However, after that part of the caption on his IG Story, Lanez posed a question to his fans. “Who else should I feature on these prison tapes?”. People were quick to give some suggestions on social media and a lot of them are previous collaborators. One user replies, “We need Chris Brown, Bryson Tiller, Trippie Redd, Yoko Gold, a boogie features”. What do you think? Tory Lanez Gets Arrogant On “Featherweight” & Melodic On “F&V” For His Prison Tapes Playlist

Tory Lanez is back for week number seven of his new “Prison Tapes” playlist as he drops off “Featherweight” and “F&V”. As with all of these two-packs, the Canadian rapper is showing off his duality as an artist. On “Featherweight”, Tory Lanez is giving you his more confident and aggressive spitting. Contrastingly, on “F&V”, which stands for “F*** & Vibe”, the Brampton resident if getting into his more sexy and sensual side. Him going in this direction each week is a smart move, as he knows his fanbase is nearly split on which lane he excels the most in. However, we believe that “Featherweight” clears “F&V” and by quite a longshot as well.

Overall, both singles are fairly repetitive, but “F&V” is almost too one-note. The chorus repeats, “She just wanna f*** and vibe, f*** and vibe, f*** and vibe, oh“, 16 times. `The storyline he presents here is woman who’s running away from her problems by going out to nightclubs and getting into it with tons of sexual partners. It’s not as compelling or captivating as “Featherweight”. Here, Tory lets everyone know around him who’s the big fish. “Jumpin’ outside of that orange and red Ferrari, I look like a Cheez-It / N****, you know as soon as the beef lit, it ain’t no peace-in“. It’ll be interesting to hear the debate around the tracks this time around, so we want to hear what you think of them, and which one your favorite is.

ELUCID Drops Off “INSTANT TRANSFER / SLUM OF A DISREGARD” With The Help Of Billy Woods

Armand Hammer rappers ELUCID (E L U C I D) and billy woods are reuniting once again in 2024 for a new single called “INSTANT TRANSFER”. This track comes on the heels of their February 27 collaborative album, We Buy Diabetic Test Strips. Highly praised by both fans and critics, they proved to be a more than formidable duo within the underground scene that is widespread across the New York City streets. While “INSTANT TRANSFER” is a team effort, this is more of ElUCID’s record. This, along with another track, “SLUM OF A DISREGARD”, are the lead teasers to his forthcoming project.

On October 11, he will have three studio albums to his name and the newest addition to his collection will be REVELATOR. According to a statement acquired by Stereogum, ELUCID states what his plan was for “INSTANT TRANSFER”, “SLUM OF A DISREGARD”, as well as the album. “I wanted to get as freaky as I could at this moment. I wanted people to hear things, maybe for the first time, or in a way they haven’t for a long while”. You are certainly getting those sorts of vibes, as ELUCID and his producers were able to cook up some truly obscure, dark, and mysterious, instrumentals.

Ray Vaughn Leaves Off Two Singles In Three Days With “Supposed To Die / Black Jesus”

Ray Vaughn, thenewer member of the TDE family, is continuing to build his profile with “Supposed To Die” and “Black Jesus”. These are the newest releases from the Long Beach, California native and they are out just three days apart from each other. Like for the rest of his label, 2024 has been a big year for him. After a majority its artists when silent for a few years, it seems everyone is dropping to remind everyone how talented their roster is. Ray Vaughn will be joining his affiliates at some point with an album. But in the meantime, he has been leaving off plenty of singles to keep fans happy.

The 30-year-old has dropped a pair of freestyles, “So Into You” and “5:30”, the lyrically dense “Problems” with Pusha T, and the trap centric “Blasphemy”. Now, in between July 26-29, Ray Vaughn is here with “Supposed To Die” and “Black Jesus”. Both see him in a self-reflective and introspective state. The former talks about the fragility of life and how there are a lot of people out to get him. Then, on “Black Jesus”, Vaughn deals with feelings of loneliness, sadness, and hopelessness due to his own past decisions. Both are extremely personal, and certainly show another side to the continuously evolving star.

Tory Lanez Kicks Off The Prison Tapes With “Wish I Never Met You / Cell 245”

Tory Lanez’s voice remains to be heard regardless of his current situation and it sounds pretty damn good on these new “Prison Tapes”. These are an extension of the Canadian hybrid’s “Lost Tapes”, which are older recordings spanning from 2015-2020. Pretty much all of them see Mr. Lanez on his R&B vibes, but on these tracks from behind prison walls, he is giving is a dosage of his aggressive rapping style too. The 31-year-old artist announced this on his social media a couple of days ago through a prison phone. Usually, when rappers release material from behind bars, the quality takes a hit. However, Tory claimed that his engineer was able to work some magic to make it sound like he laid these down in a studio.

Well, Tory Lanez did not a tell, because the first “Prison Tapes” installments sound extremely crisp. Like his “Lost Tapes”, there will be two new releases weekly. Additionally, the hitmaker is now giving both a home on his “Free Tory Playlist”. Starting this new string of songs are “Wish I Never Hurt You” and “Cell 245”, and like we said, these are showing the duality of Tory. The former is sees him struggling with the loss of a lover as he goes as far as to say he wishes they never met so he could have avoided the pain altogether. Conversely, Tory is rapping like the rent is due on “Cell 245” while getting introspective in the process. Both kick off the “Prison Tapes” to perfection and we can’t wait for the rest.

Since the start of July, Brampton, Ontario, Canadian native Tory Lanez has been dishing out some unreleased recordings under the “Lost Tapes” moniker. He has done so every weekend and their existences range from 2015-2020. All of these releases see the multi-hyphenate using his auto-crooning style, which means that R&B is the name of the game. Fans of his continuously debate which side of him they prefer. But with him serving 10 years of prison time, any “new” music from Tory is going to be a welcome sight for now.

The topical focus for these now six different tracks has centered around falling in and out of love and getting absolutely freaky in the bedroom. That remains to be the formula on Tory Lanez’s two latest “Lost Tapes” installments, “Girls In The Room (2020)” and “L.M.B.B (2018)”. On the former, Daystar Peterson is drunkenly singing to a girl who has he has felt strongly about for some time. He tries to snake his way into her heart by telling this woman that she is messing around with the wrong guys. 03 Greedo Tantalizes Fans Ahead Of New Album With “Kill Me / Still Feel Loaded”

03 Greedo is building anticipation for a new album with two singles, “Kill Me” and “Still Feel Loaded”. It is unclear which releases will make the final tracklist, as there is currently some confusion. The Watts, California rapper singer updated his Instagram followers about a month ago regarding the plans for later this year. “While we waiting on sample clearances for #HellaGreedy we got another cake baked for you. New Full Length Studio Album(+Deluxe) “The Life That I Deserve”. In that June 11 post, Greedo also tagged all of the producers that are assisting him. It is quite a respectable list that includes evilgiane, Hit-Boy, Cash Cobain, Harry Fraud, himself, Cash Money AP, and more. There is no current release for Hella Greedy nor for The Life That I Deserve. However, the latter is expected later this summer.

03 Greedo is going to be taking this extra project on a North American tour starting on October 18 and running through November 30. With that timeline, there is a good chance The Life That I Deserve drops sometime in August or early September. So, yes, there is a lot of moving parts for Greedo right now, and it will be interesting to see when and where everything falls into place. For now, the auto-crooner is tiding fans over with “Kill Me” and “Still Feel Loaded”, which marks his second two-song EP this year. In late April he put out “R.I.C.O.”, alongside Maxo Kream, and “Bless Your Soul”. Helluva Beats cooked up the instrumentals for these latest tracks, which is a great sign because these two have quite a lot of chemistry. LUCKI Drops Off Two Singles On New EP “2 Faced”

Low-key Chicago, Illinois rapper LUCKI is looking to build on a strong 2023. The 27-year-old artist came through with his 12th overall project and sixth in the last four years with s*x m*ney dr*gs. Overall, it was an album that was highly beloved by his ultra-passionate following. 2024 looks to be another one of those years for LUCKI.

To open up the next 12 months, he has just dropped a two-pack called 2 Faced. “PAIDNFULL” and “COLORFUL DRUGS” are his first releases so far and they might be on a new album. Rumors are swirling that Gemini will be out on June 21, which is when LUCKI’s birthday is. Coincidentally, the 21st is also a Friday.

Lil Baby Drops Off Two-Pack With “Crazy” And “350”

Lil Baby has not been dropping the same quality in most people’s eyes since 2021, and especially 2020 with My Turn. The Atlanta, Georgia product still possesses great technical ability, but a fair amount believe he is dropping the same tracks with different titles. Over the past couple of months, Baby has been featured on some other artist’s singles. Just last Friday, December 8, he and French Montana collided on “Okay.”

In the middle of October, we saw him dip his toes into electronic with Flowdan and Skrillex on “Pepper.” That one did not bode well for Baby, as he mumbled his way through his verse. The last time we heard solo material from him was back in July with “Merch Madness.” However, he has just broken that streak.

A couple of days ago, RapTV‘s Instagram account shared that Lil Baby was teasing some new music in the form of cover art. Well, those have just come to fruition. “Power” and “350” are the names of the tracks, and they appear to be a part of a two-pack for right now. The beats are solid, with “Power” containing flurries of piano keys. “350” is a moodier cut, but the beat sort of drowns out Baby’s vocals. They are solid efforts in general, though.
