Chicago’s PGF Nuk Ends 2022 With His “Sko” Single

December started on a high note for 20-year-old PGF Nuk. Firstly, a prestigious gold plaque for his “Waddup” song came his way. Now, the Chicago native is following that up with an exciting new release called “Sko,” which landed on DSPs earlier this week.

The single features “pianos packed with drama, a thundering baseline, and strings that could be scored for a ‘Mission Impossible’ movie,” as a press release points out. Over the infectious beat, the rising rapper chiefly makes his voice heard.

“Unlock the car (Car) Jump out on their ass (Jump) / They runnin’ real fast, foenem thumpin’ at their ass,” he quickly rhymes on the hook. “Tryna catch a opp and break his ass like glass / We treat the streets like school, you just gon’ die without no pass.”

On his first verse, Nuk paints a vivid picture for listeners with his lyrics. “Bitch we in the trenches, real wild, it get vicious, uh / Four shooters and ’em switches, shootin’ crowds, it get wicked, uh.”

While he’s ending the year on a high note, the young rapper has been dropping bangers steadily throughout 2022. Recent arrivals from him include an appearance on Shift One’s “Choppas and Suburbans” as well as his own “Last Week.”

Additionally, he and Icewear Vezzo show out on “Shut Up.” Then in late October, he gave us “Reel Em In.”

Asian Doll Follows Vydia Partnership With “Sky Falling” Single

In the summer, Asian Doll caught our attention with her Let’s Do A Drill album. The 21-track project boasts features from Bandmanrill, 2rare, Iffy Foreign, as well as Tay Money, among others. Since then, she’s been busy with a handful of singles like “Prettiest Problem” and “Come Outside.” Additionally, she’s also shared “Childs Play” with Dee Billz and TaTa.

Before the year closes out, the Dallas-born lyricist has one last song for fans. Along with that comes the exciting announcement of an EP dropping in the new year. On her “Sky Falling” track, Asian lets the world know what’s coming next from her.

The nearly two-and-a-half-minute-long song marks the beginning of the 26-year-old’s collaboration with Vydia. The music tech company will be providing her with “a suite of services.”

Among them are “video and audio supply chain, global distribution, analytics, rights management, payments, and detailed revenue reporting in support of her upcoming EP release.”

Throughout “Sky Falling,” Asian Doll specifically reflects on the ups and downs of her personal life. Even with some tough battles to face, she refuses to let anyone make her feel inferior or stop her from finding success.

“I’m so excited to team up with Vydia, for my next projects,” the rap diva said in a statement via a press release. “It’s time to TAKOVA!”

Additionally, the tech company’s Label and Artist Relations Manager, Sweetness, added, “I have been a fan of Asian Doll from day one, [and] can’t wait to see what we accomplish in 2023 with Vydia support on our side.”

Quotable Lyrics:

Tryna hide my pain, I’m in this house alone
I got addicted to this money, left my friends alone
Don’t know how tell my family that “I really love you long”
I told myself I had my back, how you gon’ do me wrong?

Russ Takes Us “Home” On His Latest Release: Stream

It’s been a busy few weekends for new music, and that trend is only continuing into the last few weeks of the year. This Friday (December 16) hip-hop heads were most excited about albums from Young Dolph and Ab-Soul. For singles, though, many have been showing love to arrivals from artists like Central Cee, Latto, and Russ.

The New Jersey native is no stranger to feeding his fans consistent music. On the 9th of this month, he came through with “Too Much,” on which he reflected on a $50 million offer he received in exchange for his music catalogue. Following that, the lyricist is taking us “Home” on his latest single.

As Rap Radar notes, the two-minute and 39-second long song boasts production by Lucas Quinn. Throughout his verses, Russ reflects on the joys of returning back to his bed after a long stint on the road.

Of course, being a working musician is a dream for many. However, constantly travelling and having to perform as the best version of yourself isn’t an easy feat by any means.

“I missed her so much that I made her Mrs. / Feel like I hit the lottery win, when I saved the digits,” his voice croons on the first verse. “I paid her visits, nah Im lyin’, she always came to me / I was a player, but I changed, this is no game to me.”

Previously this fall we heard from the 30-year-old on tracks like “Inside” and “BET.”

Smoke DZA & Curren$y Deliver “Park Bench Blues”

Despite releasing a solid 8-track project back in October titled 10,000 HRS, this New York rapper had plenty more hours to put in this year. Smoke DZA has returned with a new single “Park Bench Blues” featuring New Orleans’ Curren$y. The two are frequent collaborators; the last track they gave us was “Wish Upon A Star” off of 10,000 HRS. On this new song, both rappers ride over an aloof flute sample topped with hard drums to match.

For those unfamiliar with DZA’s work, we’d recommend projects from this year like Mood Swings with Real Bad Man. There, he displays his penchant for hazy flows, evocative descriptions, and elaborate rhyme schemes. Also, he tends to choose different production styles for different tracks. The 38-year-old sounds just as fitting on “Park Bench Blues”‘s trap beat as he does on drumless beats.

Furthermore, this track is a compelling synthesis of old-school sample work and more contemporary and atmospheric trap production. Both elements are minimal and raw in the mix, with neither overpowering the other. The melodic woodwind loop doesn’t change, but it’s pleasing enough to the ear to stick around. Moreover, it contrasts wonderfully with the deep bass that kicks in with Curren$y’s verse. Additionally, the snares and minimal hi-hats are incredibly sharp, with tones that cut through the rest of the track.

Meanwhile, Smoke DZA and Curren$y deliver some chilled-out verses that cycle through street topics. The New Orleans native comes through with slightly more aggressive energy, as his flows and rhymes evolve and morph into each other. DZA, on the other hand, delivers some vivid weed bars, a more measured flow, and direct punchlines. “Catching packages like Odell” is one of a few gems sprinkled in the track. With a new collaborative album with Big K.R.I.T., Girl Talk, and Wiz Khalifa on the way, we’re sure to get more of those.

But what did you think about this track. You can check out “Park Bench Blues” by Smoke DZA featuring Curren$y on your preferred streaming service. Also, peep more standout bars below and stay tuned to HNHH for the best new rap releases.

Me and top shelf pot, that’s a love story,
Puff-puff in Cullinans, moving luxury,
Every two hundred I make, I gotta tuck 40,

Rich The Kid Has “No More Friends” On New Single

Atlanta’s own Rich the Kid is back with a new single, “No More Friends.” Fans of his work will likely recognize his fast flows and minimal beat selection with an updated flair. Moreover, the track will appear on his upcoming album, Life’s a Gamble. Also, the track comes after “Motion,” which he released jointly with the announcement that he’s inked a deal with RCA Records.

Such moves have boosted Rich’s career, who hadn’t dropped new solo music since 2021. His output that year included the short project Lucky 7 and his collaboration with Lil Wayne, Trust Fund Babies. Still, a year’s gap between releases is still consistent enough to dismiss any claims of falling off. However, it seems that the Atlanta-raised rapper has found new life with RCA, as he excitedly shared.

“They didn’t believe in me @rcarecords DID,” the 30-year-old wrote via an Instagram post. “NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH THE best labels in the world Rich Forever X RCA, thank you to my team @bystormpitts everyone who helped make this happen.”

Instrumentally, the short track takes a more psychedelic tone that the Kid’s previous output thanks to the synth tones. They have a lot of atmosphere to them, and their high pitch and fragile tone are a nice deviation from his usually minimal melodies. This track feels a little more expansive as a result, with the simple drum pattern keeping his flow and rhymes in check.

As far as the lyrical content, the “New Freezer” MC wants more money, more success, but no more friends. Much of the track is dedicated to those flexes, whether about wealth or women, and it’s mostly framed around Rich as an individual. There aren’t many references to his circle, and that omission only adds to the track’s themes.

What do you think of Rich the Kid’s latest track, “No More Friends”? Let us know in the comments below and check out the song on your preferred streaming service. You can also peep the music video and some notable lines below, and stay tuned to HNHH for the best hip-hop releases.

Leon Thomas Takes Us To His “Breaking Point” On Latest Release

Back in May, Ty Dolla $ign shared the exciting news that he would be officially launching his EZMNY Records label. Along with that came the introduction of his first signee – Leon Thomas.

“Leon’s talent was just a higher level from every other singer or producer that I was hearing,” the “Spicy” hitmaker told Billboard at the time. “The fact that he was doing everything himself from playing bass to working Logic and Pro Tools [was amazing]. From the first song I heard, I knew he was one of them ones.”

Since then, we’ve heard Thomas’ talent speak for itself on “Love Jones” back in August. He and Ty Dolla came together for the single, but now, he’s back with a song of his own.

On Monday (December 12), the rising recording artist took us to his “Breaking Point.” As Revolt notes, the song was previously used in a Beats by Dre advertisement starring LeBron James and his son, Bronny.

The emotional song finds the Illinois native reflecting on how he can nurture a fading relationship. “Slow dancing in this burning house, I don’t wanna go nowhere / It’s hard for me to listen when there’s miles and miles of distance,” he sings.

Other appearances from Ty Dolla $ign’s first signee can be found on Phony Ppl’s “to get home” as well as Steelo’s “Lord Knows.”

Quotable Lyrics:

Slow dancing in this burning house, I don’t wanna go nowhere
It’s hard for me to listen when there’s miles and miles of distance
Feel your heart is drifting but you’re right there
I call you home but I might be alone, I can hear it in your tone
We’re in the danger zone

Bfb Da Packman Links With His “Hoe Friends” On Latest Release

It’s been relatively quiet from Bfb Da Packman since he shared his Fat N*ggas Need Love Too album last year. In November, “Trick” finally arrived on DSPs. Now, the rapper has returned with another new single, this one explicitly titled “Hoe Friends.”

As you may have guessed, his lyrics find the Michigan native comedically telling a story involving plenty of sexual antics. “I’m single now,” he surprisingly declares to listeners. “I got caught cheating with my bitche’s auntie.”

Prior to that Bfb shared bars about “[putting] Granny in a nursing home,” because she’s been “acting extra.”

The infectious production on “Hoe Friends” comes courtesy of BeatsbyTrav and Taz Taylor, as well as Yakree, a press release notes.

In the latter half of the brief song, he rhymes, “For real, rest in peace Mac Miller / She worked out all day just to come lay with a fat n*gga.” His jokes only continue with, “I could’ve made it far without you, I’m not Marvin Sapp, n*gga / My bitch is transgender ‘cuz she always got that sack with her.”

While promoting his work on Instagram, Da Packman assured his followers that his page is a “slut shaming free zone.”

On his debut album, the “Free Joe Exotic” artist collaborated with Lil Yachty, DDG, Sada Baby, Benny the Butcher, Coi Leray, Wiz Khalifa, and more. Now that he’s got more experience and confidence under his belt, there’s no telling what he’ll bring to the table in 2023.

Quotable Lyrics:

Benny The Butcher, Rick Hyde, Elcamino & Heem Drop “We Here”

The Black Soprano Family is bringing more and more talent out of Buffalo, New York. The Griselda off-shoot, led by Benny the Butcher, has just released a new track. Heem, Elcamino, Rick Hyde, and Benny the Butcher himself spit on “We Here,” the latest from the Black Soprano Family. Over a chilled-out but still sharp beat, each MC delivers cold and confident bars about their success. They’ve been riding high off of it from releases like their Gangsta Grillz mixtape with DJ Drama.

In addition to their prolific release schedule, the collective is also committed to honoring those who helped them on the way. DJ Shay, who is a key figure in the Buffalo hip-hop scene, tragically passed in 2020 due to COVID-19. Recently, Benny and the B$F crew spoke on his influence and good-hearted nature.

“That’s the epitome of Shay right there. He going to correct you because he take pride in mentoring the young n***as,” the Griselda rapper remarked. “So I’m saying, correcting you, pointing you in the right direction. Shay taught me, gave me my routine, too.”

Moreover, that drive and hunger is evident on “We Here.” Each MC has lines that will have you rewinding for another listen over an intoxicating beat. There’s a lot of detail in the verses, whether it’s the luxury brands they wear or their street experiences. Even if the topical focus is less grim or narrative, they still work some sharp lines in here. It’s a craft they’ve delivered consistently with singles like “297 Parkside.”

Rick Hyde opens up powerfully with “F**k them other n***as, s**t, my biggest opp was patience.” There’s also more clever metaphors, like “That’s why y’all be stayin’ out the way in this bucket of crabs.” Also, there’s some darkness in this track from moments like “I come from bad blocks, where murder was good business.”

You can find “We Here” by Benny the Butcher, Heem, Elcamino, and Rick Hyde on your preferred streaming service. Also, peep the music video and some standout bars below and stay tuned to HNHH for the latest heat from Buffalo.

Ransom, Lloyd Banks & V Don Unleash “Short Notice”

High-caliber MCs are still feeding hip-hop fans all the way to the end of the year. Ransom and V Don are the latest to announce new music, as they’ve linked with Lloyd Banks to release the single “Short Notice.” The track seemingly comes in anticipation of another collab between the New York rapper and producer. They’ve announced Chaos Is My Ladder, an upcoming project from the two set to release sometime this December. Moreover, it follows a streak of quality singles and collaborations, from his October track “Sinatra’s Demons” to “Band of Brothers” with Benny the Butcher and 38 Spesh.

As expected, “Short Notice” is a no-frills track with heavy East Coast energy, from the dominant and emphatic performances to the heavy drums. There’s also some great sample work on display, with a rich instrumental pallet that makes the beat varied. For example, there are shimmering chimes, a passionate string section, acoustic guitar chords, and atmospheric keys. It may sound like a lot, but the way different elements come in and out of the song’s structure and mix is dynamic. It shows V Don’s versatility and production talent, who recently released a sharp collab album with Willie The Kid.

Meanwhile, Ransom and Lloyd Banks also hold their bars to that high standard. They’re able to give the lush beat a raw edge through their flows and authoritative deliveries. If anything, it shows how timeless and universal this sound is, and how it’s still able to captivate. They have a lot of legacy to uphold, as Lloyd Banks paid tribute to his late manager Hovain.

In terms of subject matter, the MCs address familiar street tales and attitudes with detailed perspectives. Also, their rhyme schemes don’t crumble under the weight of hardened upbringings and lost friends. As they rap about their credibility and movement, they are still hyper-focused on engaging flows and lines to back up their experiences.

You can find “Short Notice” by Ransom, Lloyd Banks, and V Don on your preferred streaming service. Also, you can find some notable lines from the single below and stay tuned to HNHH for the release of Chaos Is My Ladder this December.

NLE Choppa Reveals A Few Of His Favourite Things On “I Like”: Listen

If anyone deserves an award for consistently showing up throughout 2022, it’s NLE Choppa. From January’s Me vs. Me project to singles like “Yak Flow,” “Slut Me Out,” and “Apart From You,” the rapper has proven to his fans that he’s got no shortage of talent and passion for his craft.

Most recently, the 20-year-old dropped off a track called “I Like,” on which he accordingly reveals a roster of his favourite things throughout his lyrics.

“I like cars that go, ‘Vroom, vroom’ / I like bitches that go— / ‘Fore I cuff that bitch, gotta throw that ass back,” Choppa tells listeners on the chorus. “I like money that go, ‘Ching, ching’ / I like diamonds that go, ‘Bling, bling.’”

Prior to his latest release, the Memphis native made waves with his “Ice Spice” song in November. When the Bronx artist the track is named after got wind of it, she was quick to share her thoughts on Twitter.

“N*gga feenin gotta plat it cool,” the “Bikini Bottom” hitmaker wrote at the time. In a since-deleted tweet, Choppa later responded, “What Jayda said, these n*ggas been on my bodyyyyyy.”

Other successful titles to come from the Tennessee-born artist include “FAITHFUL” with Macklemore and his beloved collaboration with 2Rare on “Do It Again.” Since making its debut in early October, the latter has been streamed over 27 million times on Spotify alone.
