J. Cole and Dreamville Drop ‘D-Day: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape’

The dreamers are back for more revenge.

Ahead of this weekend’s Dreamville Festival, J. Cole and Dreamville Records drop their surprise mixtape, D-Day: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape .

Hosted by DJ Drama, the 15-track project features the entire Dreamville gang including Bas, Cozz, Omen, Lute, Ari Lennox, EarthGang, and JID. Cole can be heard on three tracks—”Stick,” “Freedom of Speech,” and the previously-released “Heaven’s EP”—while other guests include 2 Chainz, A$AP Ferg, Sheck Wes, and more.

This marks the first project from Cole since his solo album The Off-Season back in May. In 2019, Dreamville released its chart-topping compilation Revenge of the Dreamers III.

Cole will headline this weekend’s Dreamville Festival in Raleigh, North Carolina. In addition to his Dreamville labelmates, the two-day concert will feature performances from Lil Baby, WizKid, Kehlani, T-Pain, Moneybagg Yo, Wale, Fivio Foreign, and more.

Ella Mai Drops New Song ‘Leave You Alone’

After announcing her sophomore album Heart on My Sleeve and revealing the tracklist, Ella Mai has shared a brand new song.

On “Leave You Alone,” which is available as an instant-grat track when you pre-order the album, the R&B songstress finds herself head over heels in love.

“I just can’t stop falling for you / You a bad one, baby / Make this good girl crazy,” she sings. “Baby I can’t leave you alone.”

This is the third release from Ella’s upcoming album, Heart on My Sleeve, following “Not Another Love Song” and “DFMU.” Described as her most vulnerable work-to-date, the 15-track project features appearances from Latto, Roddy Ricch, and Lucky Daye.

“When I released my debut album, I was 23 about to be 24, and now I’m about to be 27. Just in life, I’m a different woman,” she told Billboard. “I’m more mature and I’ve experienced different things than I did when I was a 23-year-old. I’m more sure of myself as an artist.”

Heart on My Sleeve is now available for pre-order before its May 6 release. Limited edition CDs will also be available at Target with an alternative album cover.

Kehlani and Justin Bieber Join Forces on ‘Up at Night’

Kehlani enlists Justin Bieber for her new single “up at night.”

Produced by Pop Wansel and Rogét Chahayed, the nostalgic track features a head-bopping beat that borrows from Soul II Soul’s 1989 single “Back to Life.”

“Thoughts of you keep me up at night,” sings Kehlani before Bieber chimes in, “I think about all of the ways you turn me on / And my bed gets lonely whenever you’re gone.”

“up at night” is the latest release from Kehlani’s upcoming third studio album, blue water road.

“It’s about having a healthily obsessed relationship. You’re telling someone, ‘I love you so much it keeps me awake at night.’ I love what Justin did, and it’s such a fun one to dance to,” said Kehlani, who previously collaborated with Bieber on 2020’s “Changes.”

blue water road, which is now available for pre-order, will be released on April 29. The 13-track album previously spawned a pair of tracks, “little story” and “altar.”

Latto Drops ‘Big Energy’ Remix with Mariah Carey

The secret’s out.

After much anticipation, Latto drops the official remix to her top 20 hit “Big Energy” featuring Mariah Carey. The remix, which also features DJ Khaled, borrows from MC’s chart-topping 1995 hit “Fantasy.”

“I’ma be your fantasy / You ain’t gon’ believe this / Hold up, got Mimi on the remix,” raps Latto.

“Big Energy” samples Tom Tom Club’s 1981 single “Genius of Love,” which Mariah famously sampled on “Fantasy.”

Earlier today, Mariah celebrated her birthday aka her “anniversary” with wishes from Latto. “THANK U FOR YOUR LEGENDARY VOCALS & ALL THE ADVICE YOU GAVE ME QUEEN,” she wrote, to which Mariah replied, “So excited for this moment dahhhhllling!!!!! So happy and proud of you and all you’re accomplishing!!!”

Latto previously paid homage to her idol by recreating her Rainbow album cover for Halloween.

On Friday, Latto released her album 777 featuring appearances from Lil Wayne, Childish Gambino, 21 Savage, Lil Durk, Nardo Wick, and Kodak Black.
