Killer Mike’s Deluxe Version Of “MICHAEL” Adds JID, T.I., Jacquees, And Young Nudy

Back on June 16, 2023, one-half of Run The Jewels released their first solo album in over 11 years. That would happen to be the Atlanta, Georgia native Killer Mike. It was a follow-up to his critically acclaimed R.A.P. Music and it delivered on many fronts. For example, Mike gathered a massive list of A-listers to help make a grand return. Some of those names include André 3000, Future, Young Thug, CeeLo Green, Ty Dolla $ign, and a plethora of others.

Mike also laced the stacked tracklists with great writing and storytelling on tracks like “MOTHERLESS” and “SCIENTISTS & ENGINEERS.” Finally, the production credits here are more than respectable. DJ Paul of Three 6 Mafia, André 3000, El-P, Honorable C.N.O.T.E., James Blake, and more assisted in the diversity of sounds. It was a tour de force for Killer Mike and he just added some more heat to the record.

Nas’ And Lil Wayne’s Bars Will “Never Die” Out

Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones, better known as Nas, is back with his third album of 2023. The 50-year-old’s work ethic is unlike anything we have ever seen in the history of the genre. Since 2020, he and his partner in crime, Hit-Boy, have released tons of music. In fact, this is their sixth album in a row. Furthermore, the duo has gone on to complete two trilogies in this span. The first one to reach finality was the King’s Disease series, which wrapped up on April 28, 2023. Now, the Magic continues with the third and last installment. God’s Son released this album on his birthday no less so you know he had to end things on a high note.

The Queens, New York icon did just that, with Magic 3 being the lengthiest project out of the trio. It features a tracklist of 15 cuts with a runtime of 45 minutes and 50 seconds, to be exact. What is also impressive about this album, is that Nas and Hit-Boy handle all of the production here. That speaks to how great Nas is because his rapping across this project is rock solid all the way through.

Listen To “Never Die” From Nas, Hit-Boy, And Lil Wayne

There is plenty of quality here, but one that might stand above the rest for most listeners is “Never Die.” It is the sixth cut off of the record and it possesses the only feature which is Lil Wayne. These two do not have a long work history with Nas appearing on the “Outro” of Tha Carter IV (Complete Edition). Even with their short track record both trade some truly incredible flows, wordplay, and bars on this punchy three-minute song. Some of Wayne’s bars are below, but Nas goes off too. “This my Tom Cruise flow, top gun, they too slow / Computers ain’t fast enough to keep up with Nasty ’cause.”

What are your initial thoughts on this brand new track from Nas, Hit-Boy, and Lil Wayne, “Never Die?” Is this the best song off of Magic 3? Who had the best performance on this track? We want to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below. Playboi Carti Cancels Premiere Of New Song At The Last Minute

Very few fanbases are starved for new music like Playboi Carti fans. He hasn’t released a new album since 2020’s Whole Lotta Red. Since then he’s been pretty quiet save for a few featured verses but he’s been teasing fans with new music all year. From various Instagram posts and leaks, Carti fans have been anticipating new music soon. The rapper is due to take his entire Opium label on tour starting in November and many were expecting him to have new songs to play.

Earlier this week, it was announced that a new Playboi Carti song would be making its debut on Atlanta’s V-103 radio station. But last night when it was set to take place, all fans heard was an apology. “I apologize for the Playboi Carti Instagram… imma take the blame for that. You know what I’m sayin, it switched up,” the radio host told any Carti fans listening. Unsurprisingly, those same fans weren’t very happy about getting their hopes up again only to be let down. “pretends to be shocked,” one of the top comments reads in reference to how often Carti does things like this. Check out the announcement below.

Others just post reaction gifs and images expressing their disappointment with the tease ultimately coming up short.

Earlier this week, Playboi Carti threw himself a birthday party and while there he teased some new music. During the event, he previewed tracks he’s recorded that featured Travis Scott and Lil Uzi Vert. It was yet another reason for fans to believe that new Carti music was on the way soon. If you watch the music video that goes along with it, you will notice plenty of things. Additionally, he and Kai Cenat’s recent bond, landed the streamer a couple of cameos. Aside from the video, when you listen to the song, the rapper is paying homage to Project Pat from Three 6 Mafia with his flow. The Weeknd Gives Diddy, 21 Savage, & French Montana His Final Feature On “Another One Of Me”

The Weeknd is a legendary artist who has consistently made chart-topping music. In addition to his solo efforts, he has delivered some phenomenal features over the years. These features are considered to be legendary in their own right. However, it seems like he is retiring from making features. Yes, that’s right, he has only more feature left in him, and it was released today. As we reported on extensively, the feature comes in the form of a verse and hook on the track “Another One Of Me.” This is a cut from Diddy’s The Love Album: Off The Grid.

The song also features the likes of 21 Savage and French Montana. Overall, this is a song that everyone was looking forward to. After all, you would think that The Weeknd’s final feature would be a must-listen event. That said, there is no telling if Abel is actually telling the truth here. Whatever the case is, there is no doubt that he delivered a great performance for this supposed last hoorah.

The Weeknd Does It Again

Before each of The Weeknd’s attempts at the hook, we get a sample of the drum solo from Phil Collins’ “In The Air Tonight.” From there, the rest of the song is filled with dope verses from Diddy, French Montana, and 21 Savage. There is fair bit of chemistry here, and it creates a dope song that acts as a standout on this new album.

Nas And Hit-Boy Complete Another Trilogy With “Magic 3”

Fans of Nas can breathe a sigh of relief, for now. Back on September 9, New York’s finest shared a teaser trailer of sorts to his Instagram account. It showed static from a television, then went to black with words being typed out to reveal, “THE FINALE.” Many people were freaking out thinking Nas was about to retire from rap, but those qualms are subsiding because that message hinted at something different. The cryptic note was referring to him dropping the final project in the Magic series with the third installment.

To celebrate this accomplishment in the best way possible, Nas decided to release this album on his birthday, September 14. Furthermore, this is now the sixth collaboration album between him and legendary producer, Hit-Boy. The duo’s work relationship is one that will go down in the history books as one of the greatest to ever do it, collectively. Since 2020, Nas and Hit-Boy have completed two trilogies with the King’s Disease series completed earlier this year. Now, the same can ring true for Magic as it goes out with a bang.

Additionally, this project contains the least amount of features with just one, but that is okay because Lil Wayne trades bars with him on “Never Die.” Nas’ and Hit-Boy’s legacies will “Never Die” after this incredible run of great beats and amazing lyricism.

Doja Cat Channels Her Inner Griselda On New Single “Balut”

Doja Cat is gearing up to drop her brand-new album Scarlet on September 22nd. Overall, she is going to be at war with Drake. For All The Dogs is coming out on the same day, and it will be difficult for Doja to make up any ground on the man. At this point, Drizzy is expected to sell upwards of 750K units in the first week. Meanwhile, Doja Cat can probably max out at around 200K. Regardless, this new project promises to bring forth a whole new direction, and fans are curious as to how this album will play out.

Recently, the artist gave us the song “Demons,” which was definitely a change of pace. In the eyes of a lot of fans, this song felt like something Baby Keem would do. Sure, the song was different for Doja, although some did feel like it wasn’t unique. Today, she decided to drop another single, this time called “Balut.” In this new song, Doja goes for a more lowkey approach where she is given the breathing room to spit more bars and take her time dissecting her enemies.

Doja Cat Spits Bars

Interestingly enough, the drums and the piano lines throughout this song give us an ethereal sonic aesthetic. Immediately, it sounds like something Griselda would have been doing in 2019. However, Doja Cat does a great job rapping over this production. It goes to show that she is incredibly talented and versatile. That said, some may make the argument that this is something we have heard before, but just from a different artist.

No matter what, it seems clear that this new album is going to be incredibly diverse in terms of its soundscapes. Let us know what you think about “Balut,” in the comments section below.
