Playboi Carti Claims He’s Been Recording His New Album In A Cave

Playboi Carti fans have been waiting for a new album for a very long time. The rapper last released a new project late in 2020 when he surprise-dropped Whole Lotta Red. Since then he’s dropped almost no new material, simply appearing as a feature on other artists’ songs. Most notably, he joined The Weeknd and Madonna on the hit song Popular earlier this year. The song landed on the soundtrack for The Weeknd’s HBO show The Idol.

Now in a new interview, Carti is shedding light on his next album. He sat down with German culture magazine Numero Berlin to share some details on what he’s been up to with fans. He described trying to stay off of his phone and out of his own head to get in the zone for recording music. “I’m in my surroundings. I’ve been recording in Paris. I love Paris. I was recording in a cave for like three months and all the music that came out of that is just chaotic and crazy,” Carti explains. The revelation has to have fans excited, though skeptical if the material will ever actually see the light of day. Check out more from the interview below.

Despite Playboi Carti’s absence from releasing much new music, his influence is still very much felt. The most direct way is through his Opium label where artists like Ken Carson and Destroy Lonely carry on the rage style that Carti pioneered. He’s also influential in other ways. Earlier this week he served as the inspiration for Jaden Smith’s viral Halloween costume.

Carti did have a new song recently debuted on OVO radio. The episode was celebrating the release of Drake’s new album For All The Dogs. Jeezy Denounces Infidelity On New Song “Don’t Cheat”

Jeezy has had a surprisingly busy week. That began when he announced his new project. It’s a double album called I Might Forgive… But I Don’t Forget. The album features 29 songs which add up to nearly 90 minutes. One thing it doesn’t have is any features with Jeezy himself handling the entirety of the project. But one song in particular on the long tracklist is already grabbing the attention of fans.

The 13th song on the album is called “Don’t Cheat” and it lives up to that name. On the chorus, he explains why he believes that cheating is improper. “Tell me you gon’ hold it down baby girl ’cause this sh*t ain’t for the weak, Nah, real n*ggas don’t cheat, I be out here getting paper while you sleep, Once again, ’cause real n*ggas don’t cheat,” he says on the chorus. He also takes time on the song to talk about how he’s been the victim of infidelity in the past, which really got fans’ attention. Listen to the entire new song below.

Jeezy Speaks Out Against Cheating

The reason so many fans are honing in on this song comes from another bit story Jeezy has dealt with in 2023. Back in September, he filed divorce from his wife Jeannie Mai. In the petition, he said that his reason for ending the marriage was that it was “irretrievably broken.” The marriage was relatively short-lived with the pair only tying the knot two years ago.

While he’s been cagey about identifying cheating as one of the reasons for the divorce, some fans online jumped to conclusions. For those that were already curious, the new song “Don’t Cheat” feels like a full-on embrace of the talking point. The divorce absolutely shocked fans online. Nav Returns With New Track “Baller”

Nav is an artist who has had a long career in music, although not always as the leading man. For years, he was known as a producer in Toronto. However, in 2016 and 2017, Nav got his big break. He featured on the Travis Scott song “Biebs In The Trap” and even released a self-titled mixtape. Moreover, he had a collaborative album with Metro Boomin called Perfect Timing. Since then, he has dropped a plethora of albums, although he has taken a break over the last few years.

Now, however, he seems to be in the mood to break out of that shell and make his grand comeback to the music world. For a while now, he has been teasing a new track. Well, today, he made good on that promise by coming out with “Baller.” This is a new track that could very well lead to more new tracks. Stylistically, this is what fans have come to expect from Nav. The flows are crisp and the beat is spacious. There is a real pocket here that Nav is able to navigate elegantly. Moreover, we get those braggadocios bars that the artist has been known for over the years. It may not be a huge shift for him, but it’s a comfortable space that he’s operating in.

“1738, ayy,” Fetty Wap is back! The Paterson, New Jersey native teams up with rising female singer and MC Coi Leray for an all-new single. For those who are not aware, Fetty is in the midst of a six-year prison sentence that came down back in May of this year. It became an extremely messy and lengthy series of events. After about two years of court appearances and four years of investigations, Fetty was found guilty of distributing and possessing with intent to distribute controlled substances.

To be specific more than 100 kilograms of narcotics, including cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and crack cocaine. However, throughout all of it, the rapper and crooner has been pushing out some singles and feature placements. He has not put out a full album since his 2021 record, The Butterfly Effect. This may be his most high-profile song Fetty has released in quite some time.

Eminem Updates “The Marshall Mathers LP2” With Expanded Edition Near Its 10-Year Anniversary

2013 was a year for a lot of standout rap records. Drake’s Nothing Was The Same, Kanye West’s Yeezus, ASAP Rocky’s LONG.LIVE.A$AP, and Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP2. In fact, it has been almost 10 years to the day that the Detroit icon made his return. He took a three-year hiatus even after fans were enjoying his 2010 record, Recovery.

Of course, LP2 is a sequel to arguably Eminem’s best album, The Marshall Mather LP from 2000. It was the record that featured the classics like “Stan,” “The Real Slim Shady,” and many more. While the follow-up is not as iconic as the original plenty of quality landed on it too. To celebrate its 10th birthday, Em decided to add an exclusive song and instrumentals of all the singles for the project.

According to Southpawers, the additional track, “Don’t Front” featuring Buckshot, was only available to those who ordered the Call of Duty: Ghosts and the album bundle. Eminem’s ties to the video game come from the trailer for it, which included “Survival” as the theme song. Furthermore, the game also came out the same day MMLP2 dropped. On top of the song, Eminem also provided instrumental versions of the singles. Those being “Berserk,” “Rap God,” “Survival,” “The Monster” with Rihanna, and “Headlights” with Nate Ruess.

It is finally that time. Benny The Butcher has just put out his enticing lead single from his forthcoming record, EVERYBODY CAN’T GO. After months upon months of teasing a song with Lil Wayne, it is now here and the wait was certainly worth it. The anticipation began around early July of this year when a short video of Benny in the studio made the rounds on Twitter from HipHopDX.

A quick few seconds of the song were played and then Butcher cut it off. “New Orleans to Buffalo,” was all we got to hear before the Buffalo rapper stepped in to say, “That’s all ya’ll need to hear, y’all heard what the man said. I said I need Lil Wayne, y’all heard what the man said. It’s on the way.”

In fact, soon, Cole will supposedly be releasing a new album called The Fall Off. In the eyes of many, this is a pretty ironic name given the fact that he hasn’t actually fallen off yet. Instead, one could say he is near the top of his game. He continues to deliver great music and has captured the attention of millions. However, as he told Yachty on the A Safe Place podcast, there is a good reason behind the name. It all has to do with a conversation he once had with himself.

J. Cole Explains Himself

Essentially, Cole started to find himself losing a bit of his edge. It led to him questioning himself and his hunger for succes. “Oh, you lost a step in this regard,” Cole reasoned with himself. “I had a real talk with myself… ‘You made it to where you wanted to make it to. Do you wanna keep going or do you just want to chill and go start a family? Do you want to retire right now?’” It seems like Cole has regained that step, although his album title serves as a reminder of how he once caught that slippage.

It has been teased quite a bit, and it was even supposed to be released in September. However, Cudi decided to delay the project until next year. Furthermore, it has been said that this album could contain over 40 tracks. It remains to be seen whether or not that is actually going to happen. However, you can’t help but feel like it might just be a real possibility.

That said, today, Kid Cudi decided to bless his fans with some brand-new music. In fact, the track contains features from some of the biggest artists. Pharrell and Travis Scott are on the song, which is called “At The Party.” You can listen to this new joint below, and as you will hear, it has a futuristic yet hellish sound to it. The Pharrell production is quite dark, and it offers up a cyberpunk-esque vibe that a lot of fans are going to enjoy.

Luckily for them, she appears to agree, as Kevin Gates teased a collab they have in the works on TikTok recently. She responded to one fan who wrote “Sexyy Red and Kevin Gates” with some cheeky emojis, tagging Gates in the process. A happy belated 28th birthday to him, Dixon went to Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, Virginia. He has been releasing music to streaming since early 2018, in January to be exact.
