Eminem Updates “The Marshall Mathers LP2” With Expanded Edition Near Its 10-Year Anniversary

2013 was a year for a lot of standout rap records. Drake’s Nothing Was The Same, Kanye West’s Yeezus, ASAP Rocky’s LONG.LIVE.A$AP, and Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP2. In fact, it has been almost 10 years to the day that the Detroit icon made his return. He took a three-year hiatus even after fans were enjoying his 2010 record, Recovery.

Of course, LP2 is a sequel to arguably Eminem’s best album, The Marshall Mather LP from 2000. It was the record that featured the classics like “Stan,” “The Real Slim Shady,” and many more. While the follow-up is not as iconic as the original plenty of quality landed on it too. To celebrate its 10th birthday, Em decided to add an exclusive song and instrumentals of all the singles for the project.

According to Southpawers, the additional track, “Don’t Front” featuring Buckshot, was only available to those who ordered the Call of Duty: Ghosts and the album bundle. Eminem’s ties to the video game come from the trailer for it, which included “Survival” as the theme song. Furthermore, the game also came out the same day MMLP2 dropped. On top of the song, Eminem also provided instrumental versions of the singles. Those being “Berserk,” “Rap God,” “Survival,” “The Monster” with Rihanna, and “Headlights” with Nate Ruess.

BIA Tacks On Seven Additional Songs, Gives Us “REALLY HER (INTL DELUXE)”

BIA is in a crowded field of female rappers. There are so many fresh new faces on the scene and with that comes every one of them battling to be unique. Some are either going to come out of the pack and grab a lot of listeners’ attention, or fall to the wayside. However, we would argue that BIA is one of those standout voices that has the chance to become even bigger than she is already.

Things really did not pop off for her until about late 2020 to 2021. But, she has been releasing music to streaming since 2016. BIA has two projects under her belt with FOR CERTAIN (2020), which featured the viral track “WHOLE LOTTA MONEY.” Then, back on July 28, she put out her sophomore effort REALLY HER.

Tupac’s “Strictly For My N.I.G.G.A.Z…” Expanded Edition Arrives

During a matter of years, Tupac left behind a catalog that’s cherished and celebrated to this day. The late rapper delivered his final album, The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory, after he died in Las Vegas. However, throughout the years, fans received an abundance of posthumous releases, from Until The Death Of Time to Better Days. Though some of the latter releases in his career weren’t met with praise as his earlier output, there’s no doubt that everything he’s released, during his lifetime and after, had an incredible impact on hip-hop to this day.

Though we haven’t received much new music from ‘Pac’s estate in recent times, they haven’t shorted fans on celebrating massive milestones in his career. This week marked the 30th anniversary of his second studio album, Strictly For My N.*.*.*.A.Z. The follow-up to 2Pacalypse Now further carved out his voice in rap, politically, socially, and musically. The project boasts 16 songs in total with appearances from Ice-T, Ice Cube, Treach, Digital Underground. It remains one of the most celebrated album in ‘Pac’s catalog, especially since it produced singles like “I Get Around” and “Keep Ya Head Up.”

What Was Added To The Expanded Edition Of Tupac’s Second Studio Album?

As the 30th anniversary arrived on Feb. 16th, his estate unloaded the official expanded version of the project. The album contains the original sixteen songs, along with six additional records, including four remixes. Madukey shares his remix of “Keep Ya Head Up” while a “New York Stretch” remix of “Holler If You Hear Me” shows up on the tracklist, as well. Additionally, you’ll find a remix of “I Get Around” and Vibe Tribe’s flip of “Papa’z Song.”

The project also contains the underrated single, “Flex” alongside the Outlawz, which dropped in 1993. Then, there’s the inclusion of Heavy D’s “Let’s Get it On,” which is among the rare times that Tupac and Biggie both appeared on the same song together. The re-release of Strictly For My N.*.*.*.A.Z is a firm remind of why ‘Pac stood as one of the greatest rappers of all time. Press play on the project above and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.
