Skepta Teams Up With 19-Year-Old Producer, Ryder, For “48 Hours” EP

Skepta’s career is one of diversity and adaptability. The Tottenham rapper and DJ has experimented a lot over his roughly two-decade-long run in the hip-hop industry. From grime, and trap, to EDM even, the man has many tools in the tool belt. Back in mid-October, the 41-year-old put out a single that saw him bring a new twist to an Amy Winehouse classic, “Tears Dry On Their Own.” The track was retitled as “Can’t Play Myself (A Tribute To Amy).”

That was the most recent addition to Skepta’s new house-focused label, Más Tiempo. The entertainment group is a joint effort with a familiar face from Boy Better Know, Jammer. With all of that going on, he has not been able to put a lot of energy into his solo career. It has been four years since his last effort, Ignorance is Bliss. But, he seems to getting back into it a bit by teaming up with a rising producer, Ryder.

The 19-year-old hails from Kingston upon Hull, which is located in England. According to NME, he got a little TikTok virality after posting a rendition of one of Skepta’s cuts. There are two new songs, “All Alone” and “For You” with extra vocals from Dré Six. That one was a full-on solo effort with not a feature in sight. In addition to his own material, the smoked-out rapper was also making contributions to the movie world.

A cult classic finally made its return not too long ago to Paramount+. The Nickelodeon original from the 90s, Good Burger, came out with a sequel. In fact, it was a 26-year wait before we got to see Kel Mitchell and Keenan Thompson return to their roles as Ed and Dexter Reed, respectively. They decided to bring a unique soundtrack to the mix and a lot of bigger names contributed.

Following that, Busta teamed up with Coi Leray for the second time with “LUXURY LIFE.” Finally, Novmeber 10 would be the last teaser. Young Thug helped deliver “OK.”

After a quiet 2022, Trippie Redd fans have been eating good all 2023. The Ohio-born artist began the year with a bang, dropping MANSION MUSIK in January, and after letting that settle for a bit, he closed out the summer with A Love Letter To You 5. Little did we know that Trippie was on his way to becoming a father at this time, and after unleashing his Saint Michael EP with the world a few weeks back, he shared the first photo of his little one with the world. That seven-track effort saw just one feature, from BANKS on “Saint Michael Myers,” and quickly brought the genre-bending artist tons of praise.

Kanye West Re-Adds Lil Durk To “Vultures”

These days, Ye is spending his time in Saudi Arabia where he is working on a brand-new project. This is an album that a lot of fans are excited about as it will be a collaborative effort with Ty Dolla $ign. This past week, we got the lead single for the album, simply called “Vultures.” Originally, this song was going to feature the likes of Lil Durk, however, his verse was ultimately removed. No one actually knows why Durk was taken off of the track in the first place. Typically, Ye never offers such explanations. Instead, he will make changes however he sees fit. Tink & Hitmaka’s NSFW Text Messages Suggest They’ve Made Up

Recently, Hitmaka took to social media to promote some upcoming music from his ex, Tink. The duo had a pretty brutal falling out earlier this year, which resulted in the two of them putting each other on blast online. Nowadays, however, it appears that they’re back on good terms. Hitmaka posted a screenshot of an alleged text message conversation between them, in which Tink apologizes. “I’m sorry,” she writes, prompting him to tell her “I know.”

“I wish I handled you better,” she continues. “I apologize for reacting the way I did. As a close friend I’m not proud of how we left it.” Tink then sends him a new track, letting him know that it’s dropping soon. “This is coming out tomorrow,” she says, “it’s not a single but I’m venting.” Things take a turn from there, with Hitmaka responding, “It’s cool u licked my a** too.” Tink replies, “Lol .. they know,” alongside an umbrella emoji.

While it at least seems as though the two of them are moving past their previous issues, Hitmaka opened up about how their public beef made him feel at the 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards last month. According to him, he found the debacle “embarrassing,” though he says he’s “evolved” since then. “It wasn’t really no issue with me or whatever, you know?” he told The Neighborhood Talk.

Drake Puts Out “Scary Hours 3” Instrumentals, But With A Twist

Drake’s Scary Hours 3, also known as For All The Dogs Scary Hours Edition, was a tight collection of six tracks and a whole lot of bars. Whether it was his beefs in the industry, relationships with women, and so much more, he had a lot to say and said it in the most fitting ways possible. Moreover, Drizzy spit a lot of funny bars, some cringe, some poignant lines, and with an overall sense of confidence. However, given the incredible production from the likes of Conductor Williams and The Alchemist on here, plus many other names, it stands to reason that there’s plenty of potential for other artists to excel in this lane.

Furthermore, Drake knows this, and took it upon himself to challenge others to beat him at his own game. He’s officially dropped the instrumentals for Scary Hours 3 on his website– but, there’s a twist to it. The Toronto native designed a scavenger hunt of sorts on his website, where you have to click through various rooms and scour for these links to download the beats. We don’t see a lot of stuff like this anymore from artists, especially ones as big as him. As such, this is actually kind of refreshing and a fun idea for die-hards to engage with the music more closely.

Drake’s Scary Hours 3: Stream

Of course, just because Drake got bar-heavy on here over some classic beats doesn’t make Scary Hours 3 an automatic hit. Anthony Fantano of The Needle Drop, for example- who isn’t the biggest fan of his music but still gave For All The Dogs a six out of 10- hit the new collection of tracks with a score of five out of 10. Regardless, plenty of fans expressed a lot of happiness with the additional EP. In fact, it’s what many of them wanted for a long time. Maybe this means that these instrumentals will resonate with artists and listeners who feel inspired by the 37-year-old’s own adherence to the pen here.

Meanwhile, after big wins at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards, he’s probably feeling more on top of the world than ever this year. Sure, that’s quite the steep competition considering his touring success and all that, but it’s a challenge Aubrey Graham loves to keep up with.
